Alfheim Online

New Aincrad, Floor 22, Log Cabin K4

February 8th, 2027; 19:15

The virtual moon was shining down on the one hundredth floored floating fortress in ALO. A levitating castle known as New Aincrad; which was redeveloped long ago. Once a digital hell from its own game of Sword Art Online, became a non-lethal expansion in Alfheim Online.

Deep within the twenty second floor, laid a peaceful town near a lake. Large trees covered most of the floor with a lake near a log cabin. A log cabin which became not just a base for my friends and I, but a second home for my family.

(Gasping!)

The sounds of exhaustion were huffed repeatedly throughout the cabin's bedroom. Despite my body being nothing but polygons, the stimulation that was leaving me felt incredibly real. Something that no system could temper or control as it left me sitting on the side of one of the two beds in the room.

"Mmm…"

A soft moan broke the brief moment of rest, causing me to turn around. Laying next to me who was covering herself with the white bedsheets was the Berserk Healer. An Undine avatar who went by the player name of Erica, but those who were closest to her knew her true identity. However, I knew her better than anyone else.

"Asuna?"

Her real name was Asuna Yuuki and was the girl who was a part of me that I couldn't live without. Although her eyes and hair weren't her real colors, I could still see the true beauty through her avatar. Even my nose could pick up her sweet, soothing scent that the game was trying to replicate. Overwhelmed by the smell of her long, sapphire hair that was lying on the bed, I noticed that her tired blue eyes wanted to tell me something.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

"I-I don't know?" Awuna shook her head.

"I'm getting a bad feeling." She mentioned.

With her left hand clutching even tighter to the sheet, the bright blue flames I saw in Asuna's eyes were no longer burning. Her scorching ambitions towards me a moment ago had been extinguished by worry. A concern that was suddenly affecting her mind as well as mine.

"Did I…"

"Was I going too rough on you?" I asked.

Before I could even realize what I just questioned my in-game wife, I was given the punishment I deserved. My choice of words wacked the hornet's nest as my face met a painful collision with Asuna's right hand.

"Oof!"

In a blink of an eye, the Berserk Healer shot her head in annoyance and quickly swung her right hand against my face. A loud slap could be heard, but the hand's impact caused me to do an uncontrollable spin in pain. Despite the pain absorber being set to level ten in which no pain we received in the game could affect our bodies in the real world, the slap was strong enough to leave a bright red mark on my cheek.

"NOT THAT KIND OF FEELING, YOU IDIOT!" Asuna shouted.

"I'm worried about Yui and the others!" She exclaimed.

Overwhelming by the sting of Asuna's powerful slap, I lifted my right hand in the air before slashing it back downward. A set of icons appeared in front of me as I quickly tapped onto the Friends' list setting and pressed it. A list of players was then displayed in front of me, splitting them into two separate categories. One listed players who were offline, but I was more focused on those who were still online playing the game.

"Let's see…" I groaned in pain.

Sure enough, the names of the players I was checking were still on the Online list. Five female player names were listed to still be playing somewhere within ALO. Underneath Asuna's player name, four other aliases informed me of their presences.

The first name was Lisbeth, a former Blacksmith who I met during our time in SAO. The next player was Silica, a Monster Tamer with a small feathery dragon named Pina by her side. Back when we were all trapped in SAO, I sorta used the young tamer in order to snoop on what her guild leader, Rosalia was scheming during the time.

The last two players listed were the most special. Leafa a.k.a my sister, Suguha, a Slyph player who knew the most about the game of ALO than any of us. If it wasn't for her knowledge and skills as a swordsman, I would've never been able to rescue Asuna from the former Game Master's clutches. However, there was one other being who became more important than Suguha.

The final name I saw on the list was Yui. My beloved daughter who recently became the adopted child of Asuna and I in the real world. An Ai that was originally created by the Cardinal system back when SAO was first online during the beta testing, but became one of the losses during the Inner-Intelligence War. If Rath hadn't given her a second chance of living, our times in ALO during the last few months would've been different.

"It still says they're online and they said they were going to Floor 48 to pick some flowers." I exclaimed.

"But that was three hours ago when they told us." Asuna countered my statement.

"They should be back by now!" She replied.

"I'll just send Yui a messa…"

A sudden sound muffled through the door to the left of us, stopping myself from working the game menus. Asuna and I then turned at the door with curious looks on our faces as we tried to identify the sound. As close as we could with our pointy ears, the sound seemed like it was coming from the Kitchen area of the cabin.

"Yui, are you there?!" I called out.

"Suguha-chan, Lis?!" Asuna replied.

We waited nearly half a minute for a response. Unfortunately, not a single voice muffled back at us. Not even a figure appearing through the door's window. All we saw was darkness with the sound of running water muffling through the wooden wall. I then turned my head back at Asuna with a serious face, informing her to stay in the bed.

"I'm going to check out what's on." I told my partner.

"Sounds like someone's using the Kitchen sink." The woman of the house designated the source of the sound.

"GAH!'

"HEY!"

A high pitch echoed through the wooden walls, causing my heart to jump out of my chest. My order was immediately refused as I watched the bedsheets in front of me get thrown at me, covering my view of the young mother. Her long strands of blue hair swung wildly at my face like a whip, nearly brushing my eyes as the sheets barely shielded me from the sudden attack.

"ASUNA?!" I cried.

Despite my best effort to stop her, Asuna's motherly instincts clouded her mind as well as her actions. Faster than the system could process, Asuna dashed toward the door and swung it as hard as she could. What happened next became rather difficult to see. All I saw was a bare-naked woman turning to the right, only to gasp at something close by.

"Yui-chan!" Asuna cried.

Upon hearing her name, I operated by my fatherly instincts and zoomed towards my in-game wife. Unfortunately, someone had other plans for Asuna and I as a strange, loud noise grew immensely, alerting us that a spell was being cast on the area. The whole area of our cabin began to feel heavy, causing me to hold onto the doorway that led to the main room of the house.

"Wh-who are you?" Asuna struggled to say, trying to move towards the Kitchen area.

"A-asuna!" I called, reaching my hand out to the Undine player.

From the doorway, I felt a strong pressure pressing me down to the wooden floor. It didn't take long for both Asuna and I to be pinned down. Unable to fight or defend ourselves from the mysterious threat who had already seen Asuna.

"Sorry for using gravity magic on you two, but I can't let you see her!" A female voice spoke.

"However,... since you're like that,..."

A few footsteps were heard as a figure appeared in front of the doorway. A pair of black boots halted next to the side of Asuna, revealing a hooded Spriggan player staring coldly at us. A black hood covered the player's face as she was wearing a standard black coat with a golden gauntlet covering her right hand. The same hand that was holding a glass bottle with a pixie sealed inside.

"Mama?"

"Papa?!" The pixie called out.

"Yu-yui-chan!" I struggled to yell, fighting the immense gravity weighing on top of me.
