As she stood numbly in her spot while watching her now former best friends walk away from her without looking backwards even once, Aqua knew she had messed things up completely. Not only that, but she had made a very big mistake, which incurred the most terrible price in the world.

The loss of an unbreakable friendship bond.

'What have I done?!' Aqua thought with extreme shock as she still stood numbly in her spot, tears threatening to spill from her beautiful blue eyes while her heart felt like it was going to split in two at the revelation she has no friends now. 'What in the world have I just done?! Terra! I am so sorry!'

How could Aqua be so incredibly stupid and selfish by accusing Terra of not following the orders Master Eraqus told them to do and being so close to the darkness when he actually wasn't? She didn't mean to offend him greatly, she was only deeply worried about him like how a good friend should be.

Yet, Aqua didn't act like a good friend at all. She merely act as a person with wariness and suspicion when Terra mentioned having a dangerous task, something that wasn't what Master Eraqus ordered them to do. They were meant to eliminate the Unversed who are going around to countless worlds upsetting the balance between light and darkness, and find Master Xehanort, who had mysteriously disappeared.

So…what exactly was this dangerous task Terra mentioned? Did it have something to do with being so close to the darkness or was it something else entirely?

As a recently named Keyblade Master for passing the Mark of Mastery exam successfully, it's Aqua's job and responsibility to make sure no other Keyblade wielders falls into darkness and guide them back to the right road. The road to light. That has what Master Eraqus taught her, Terra and Ventus when they were training under his guidance.

But instead of doing what she was supposed to do as a Keyblade Master, which is guiding other Keyblade wielders to the right road, all Aqua did was accused Terra of not following the orders Master Eraqus had told them to do because he mentioned having a dangerous task, which pushed him further into darkness and away from the light.

Thinking about pushing Terra further into darkness and away from the light made Aqua remember the conversation she had with Master Eraqus right before she was ready to leave the Land of Departure to start her journey.

"Before you depart, I have one other…well, call it a request of the utmost priority. I told Terra this could be a second chance to show the Mark of Mastery…and I meant it. However, that flick of darkness he displayed during the examination, I can sense it runs very deep. If he were to- if those powers were to prove too much for him to handle, I want you to bring him back to me at once. It's for his own good. I could not bear to lose any of you to the darkness."

Master Eraqus had been immensely afraid and worried Terra will lose himself to the darkness after displaying that flick of darkness during the Mark of Mastery exam, so he assigned Aqua to keep a close watch on him throughout her journey and bring him back to the Land of Departure if he couldn't handle the powers.

…And Aqua chose to accept the request Master Eraqus gave her not as a good friend, but as a fellow Keyblade Master. This was meant to show she's ready to accept her new role and responsibilities after passing the Mark of Mastery exam.

Aqua chose her recently acquired role over Terra, who had not been very happy to discover this after they, along with Ventus, who ran away from home when he wasn't supposed to, defeated a huge Unversed in Radiant Garden.

The discovery of being spied on led to a heated confrontation between the two friends who knew each other since they were kids. By the end of it, Terra, who felt so much anger, hurt and betrayal inside him, broke his friendship with Aqua before walking away, not bothering to look backwards.

Aqua tried to plea desperately to make Terra see reason and that Master Eraqus has no reason to distrust him since he was only worried, but he didn't listen to her as he continued walking away from her. Not long after he walked away, she got confronted by Ventus, who also felt anger and hurt inside him upon learning she was under orders by Master Eraqus to bring him back to the Land of Departure.

Aqua had tried to make Ventus see reason in hopes for him to understand why she chose to accept these orders by Master Eraqus, but like Terra, he didn't listen to her and declared he refuses to go home before walking away from her, officially breaking his friendship with her. He had also parted off one final statement.

"Aqua…now that you're a Keyblade Master, you've let it go to your head."

That single statement had been enough for Aqua to realized the depths of her mistakes upon accepting orders by Master Eraqus. It had also been enough for her to realized she had lost her unbreakable friendship bond, all because she chose her Keyblade Master title over her best friends.

'This is all my fault…' Aqua thought miserably, turning to face the ground as the tears in her eyes finally streamed down her face like a flowing river. 'I chose to accept my new role and responsibilities after passing the Mark of Mastery exam over my best friends. I…I had let it go to my head like what Ven said…'

Aqua had lost her unbreakable friendship bond with Terra and Ventus by letting the Keyblade Master title go to her head. She had ruined everything.

And done! That's the ending of the story! Aqua has realized her mistakes of accusing Terra being so close to the darkness, but it is too late for her as she have lost her friendship with both him and Ventus.
