Chapter 2-Alien Invaders Part 2
With Superman finishing repairing the Batwing, everyone else was gatherd around J'onn, listening his explaintion. Rainbow, for one, was still freaked out. She was standing around a group of the greatest heroes that were admire throughut most of the world and she met an alien from another plantet, which doesn't sound as epic since one of your friends come from a wolrd of talking ponies.
"So, J'onn J'onzz. You came from Mars to warn us?" Diana asked the alien.
"This is just too weird," Flash commented.
"I've seen stranger things," Green Lantern said.
"We first encounted them a thousand of your earth years ago."
His eyes glowed and suddenly everyone found themselves standing on Mars, but it was not barren. It was a city.
"It was a golden age. Our Martian civilization was at the height of its peace and prosperity. And then they arrive. From where they came from, no one knew. But they were focus to make our planet their own. We were peaceful race and the taking of any life was abhorrent to us, but we quickly learned the ways of war."
He showed them the Martians fighting off the invaders.
"For centuries the battle raged on. Every trace of our once great civilization was gone. We fought valiantly... but the invaders were parasites who fed our physic energy. They even absorbed our shape-shifting abilities. Finally, a small of group of Martians planned one final desperate attack. They went inside of their underground stronghold, then place a powerful nerve gas that paralyzed them. The attack was successful but the cost was dear. I was the only one. The last of my kind. I sealed up the citadel to keep them in constant state of suspended animation. For years I stood guard over them. But then, while I was in a hibernation cycle, astronauts from Earth unsealed the stronghold and accidently reived the Invaders."
"Wait," Blue Thunder interrupted. "The astronauts never said a word about finding life on Mars."
"Some pencil pusher in Washington probably decided it should be kept classified ," GL snorted.
"With all the Martians gone, the invaders have nothing left to feed upon. So they turned their to Earth. I narrowly escaped and came here to warn to of the coming danger. While I was being held against my will, the invaders sent some of their advanced agents to disable Earth's defenses."
"That's why they sabotaged te deep pace monitoring network. So we couldn't detect their activities," Batman said.
"We got to stop them before it's too late!" Green Lantern exclaimed, his eyes glowing green.
"It may already be too late," J'onn said as he looked at the horizon waiting for something.
Back in Metropolis, the military were firing at the aliens monsters, doing little damage. Suddenly if things could not any more worse, the rock where they came from started shaking. Everyone watched in horror as rock crumbled away, revealing black tentacles. The black tentacles then started merging into a giant skyscraper from there, it acted like a pump, releasing black smoke into the atmosphere, blocking out the sky.
On the Mountains...
"What was that?" Diana exclaimed as heard thunder.
"It has began," J'onn said, looking at the dark storm clouds in the horizon then everyone looked at the clouds.
"That's one freaky storm," Blue Thunder said breaking the ice.
"What are they doing?" Hawkgirl asked.
"The Invaders are nocturnal. They want to block out the sun so they can live in perpetual darkness."
"Can't you wipe up another batch of that nerve gas?" Flash asked.
"Sadly, I can't. The gas was made only by a rare Martian plant. I brought a sample with me, but it was destroyed while I was captured."
"So, what's Plan B?"
"We have to take out factories," Diana suggested.
"I agree with Wonder Woman," Blue Thunder second the idea.
"Wonder Woman?"
"It was either that or Swimsuit Girl."
"This is no job for amateurs like you two," Green Lantern said to both of them.
"We Amazons are warriors born. Want to test me?" Wonder Woman glared at him.
Green Lantern glared at her, walking towards her. Blue Thunder quickly walked in and stopped them.
"Okay, not the best time to fight with each other," She said to both of them. "We have bigger problem here."
"She's right. John, we're gona need all the help we can get," Superman said to Green Lantern.
"Fine. Sorry, your highness," Green Lantern huffed. "Tactically, we'll have objections, so wee need to spilt into team."
"Dibs on the Amazon!" Flash said.
Later, in the sands of Egypt, both Blue Thunder and J'onn and were scounting around the giant factory, looking for openings but they found none.
"Found anything?" Blue Thunder asked.
"I have not," J'onn asked then the two flew straight to Batman and Wonder Woman.
"We have scouted the outer walls," J'onn said. "There appears to be no openings."
"It's tighter than Fort Knox. So how are we getting in?" Blue Thunder asked.
"Simple, we'll make our own," Wonder Woman said as she flew towards the giant alien monster.
"Good enough for me," Blue Thunder nodded then both her and J'onn tried to follow but Batman stopped them.
"Wait, let's see what she can do," Batman said, looking at Wonder Woman.
They watch as Wonder Woman grabbed her lasso and flew around the monster's legs, dodging blasters. She threw the lasso at the legs, tied it up.
"Hera! Give me strengh!"
She pulled the monster fell towards the factory and hit the wall, making giant entrance.
"There's your opening," She said then flew in.
"Not bad," Batman commented as he fired his grapple at the hole, Blue Thunder and J'onn flying ahead of him.
Inside, Wonder Woman was deflecting the lasers that the aliens were firing at her. Blue Thunder created a lighting ball and kicked at the aliens, scaring them off. The Invaders were very careful not to run through the sunlight.
"They run like cowards! What are you wating for?" Wonder Woman exclaimed.
With that, she quickly pursed them with Blue Thunder and J'onn followed but Batman looked out from the sky, his eyes narrowing before he followed them.
They made their way through the corridors, looking for the Invaders and their control room, but as they made their way The Invaders continue to block their way.
"They blocked us off again!"
"It's like they know what were thinking!" Batman as he threw an explosive batarang.
"Of course they did, the creeps got from the Martians, right, J'onn?" Blue Thunder asked she fired a magic blast an alien. When he did not reply, she turned and sees J'onn eyes glowed. "J'onn? You there?"
"Superman and Hawkgirl are down. They have failed.
"What? Are you sure?"
Then suddenly more Invaders appeared and fired their blasters at them.
"This way!" J'onn said as he flew toward another area. They quickly followed him toward and went right through the place, after a few minutes Wonder Woman looked back and saw that no one was following them.
"We lost them."
"For the time being," Batman said as he place Bat-Knuckle on his hands.
"Look, it's the central core," J'onn got their attention.
The room was huge, filled with computer-like devices. On the center, floating inside tube, was a red orb. Invaders were everywhere, making sure the core stays online.
"How do we shut it down?" Batman asked.
"The Ion Matrix Crystal. If we can remove it, the whole plant will shut down," J'onn said. "I need a diversion."
"One diversion, coming up!" Blue Thunder exclaimed as she fired a blue magic blast at one of the computers which it exploded and blasted the Invaders away.
Batman followed her lead by throwing a batarang, cutting out a pipe, casuing oil, to pour at the Invaders. Wonder Woman grabbed another pipe and pulled it, casuing steam to explode. Once J'onn through the ground, the Invaders fired at Batman, Blue Thunder, and Wonder Woman.
Wonder Woman blocked the blasters as Batman jumped down and punched the Invaders with his brass knuckles. Blue Thunder charged at the Invaders behind them, then kicked them with her legs.
Meanwhile, J'onn was about to leave, an Ivader blasted him from behind, knocking him out with the core falling to the ground as well.
"J'onn!" Blue Thunder exclaimed as she punched Invaders off of her then cacth the Martain before he reached the ground as Wonder Woman punched her way towards the two, helping J'onn.
"Get him out! Now!" Batman told the two as he judo flipped an Invader towards another one.
Blue Thunder, Wonder Woman, and J'onn manages to go through the exit, but Batman was slow casuing the door close on him. He tried to punch the exit open with his brass knuckles, but it was like punching Superman with feather.
"Batman!" Wonder Woman shouted as she and Blue head back.
"Stand back, Wonders," Blue Thunder told her to back away then she blasted the door with magic blast but the door was still standing. "Pony Feathers! It's magic proof!"
Suddenly before anyone could react, blasters were fired from the other side, bouncing from the walls.
"No!" Wonder Woman was prepared to punched the door.
"Wait! There's nothing more we can do for him. He's gone."
Both Blue Thunder and Wonder Woman were shocked from the news that J'onn just told them. Blue Thunder lowered her head as Wonder Woman looked back at the wall.
"Hera... help us," she said with a sad expression.
"What do we do now?" Blue Thunder asked.
"We must go back and recuse Superman and Hawkgirl. They are still alive," he told them.
"Then we must go," Wonder Woman agreed
What happened next was the three heroes flew out through the same place they enter.
Blue Thunder landed on a building with Wonder Woman and J'onn beside him. She looked at once a great city where people either stealing things or casuing more problems.
"So much for the City of Tomorrow," She muttered.
"Perhaps mother was right about mankind. They're nothing but untamed savages," Wonder Woman said, seeing the chaos.
"Do not judge them too harshly. They act out of fear," J'onn said.
"Besides not all men are bad," Blue Thunder added.
Wonder Woman looked down and saw two bikers trying to lift up a pile of rubble.
"Hey! We got kids trapped under here! Someone gives us a hand!"
"Will this do?"
A green beam suddenly hits the rubble. The bikers looked up to see Green Lantern lifting the rubble away, once it was once the bikers got the kids off the rubble.
"Thanks, man." The biker thank Green Lantern.
GL nodded and flew toward Blue Thunder, J'onn and Wonder Woman. Below him, Flash followed. Green Lantern landed in front of others as Flash ran up the building and jumped towards the roof.
"Sorry we're late, had to stop and resuce some civilians."
"What'd you call us back for?"
"Superman and Hawkgirl were captured," Wonder Woman pointed to the factory. "They're trapped somewhere inside there."
"And what about Batman?"
"He acted heroically to the end."
"The Bat's gone?"
"He was a true warrior."
"This is not good. Definitely not good," Green Lantern said.
"Wow, what gave you that idea?" Blue Thunder sarcastically asked him. "So, do any of us have a plan?"
Later...
The heroes huddled behind some debris, looking at the factoy, which was being guard by two giant monsters.
"If Superman and Hawkgirl are in there, someone's got to rescue them. You're sure they're still in there, aren't you?"
"Yes. Your friends are alive but we must act quickly. The Imperium is coming."
"The who?"
"The supreme intelligence that control these Invaders. We have met before."
"Are you sure we can trust him?" Flash asked GL.
"You got something better," GL retorted. "Okay, we're going in. Flash, Blue, create a distraction. Diana, watch my back."
"You wanna rely on an amateur?" Woman Wonder said with a smirk.
"That's what she said!" Blue Thunder added.
"Let's move!"
Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and J'onn flew towards the factory as Flash and Blue Thunder headed towards the monsters. GL led the others towards the hole that Superman made entered it.
"Hey, freakshow! Bet you can't catch me!" Blue Thunder did a raspberry at the monster before doing fire plasma bolt at the monster.
The monster blasted at Blue Thunder but she made him missed then speed rush him that made him collapsed to the ground while Flash zipped around the other monster before knocking him from the back.
"Too slow," Flash said as he ran towards the factory as Blue Thunder followed.
The two dashed through the place and found the others.
"Hope we didn't keep you waiting?" both Flash and Blue Thunder stopped beside them.
Suddenly they heard voice ahead of them. They stealthy walked forward and peeked at the corner. There were two Invaders.
"Wait here," J'onn said as he transformed into an Invader.
He headed toward them and spoke in the language. The Invaders then ran towards the direction he was pointing at and spotted the others. And just they were about to aim their guns, J'onn came from behind and placed his hands through them, once he was solid, the Invaders screamed in pain. When J'onn removed his hands, both alien monsters fell, dead.
"Come," he said while everyone just stared at them.
"Is it just me, or does he creep you out too?" Flash asked as they followed J'onn.
"Dude, I've seen weirder than these," Blue Thunder shrugged.
They the Martian through the walls, walking for what has been a hours. After a while, they finally stopped in front of a round door. J'onn then placed his hand on the door.
"I sense that they are somewhere beyond these wall."
Wonder Woman tried to force the door open with her strength, but it too strong.
"Stand back," Green Lantern said, walking forward. he fired at the door, making somewhat a crack.
After a few minutes, the door was finally open. The group walked inside and saw Superman and Hawkgirl hanging upside down, their eyes closed.
"Great Hera," Wonder Woman, said in shock.
"Wait. Something's not right," J'onn said as he and GL brought down both them and all of them were shocked to see their eyes were red.
"Oh crap, it's a trap!" Blue Thunder said as the exits closed on them.
Then holes appeared, and they release yellow gas. Everyone gasped and coughed as they inhale the gas. They started falling, slowly losing consciousness.
The two fakes walked towards the fallen heroes, smirking before they morphed back into their true form.
