Chapter Three

Ok. Ok to what. Lexa wasn't sure if she should press the question she had in her head or let it for now.

Clarke noticed that Lexa had a questioning look on her face.

"Ok, Commander. The Skaikru will join your coalition and be your 13th clan." Clarke gave her a more formal, leader driven response. She saw the twitch of Lexa's upper lip indicating she wanted to smile but a Commander can't show emotion.

Lexa took the 3 steps that separated her and Clarke.

"Clarke kom Skaikru, I vow to protect you and your people. Our People."

"If you break my trust again, I will never look at you again. I will never speak to you again."

With that Clarke walked out of the throne room and back to her room. She needed to process everything that just happened. She started pacing. Questioning herself, did she make the right decision for her people or did she make the decision with her heart. She thought out the different scenarios. Lexa was right. If they were a part of the coalition and the 13th clan the night on the mountain, she wouldn't have had to make a choice. My people would have been her people and they would have been included in the release.

With that thought, Clarke now felt confident that she was making this decision for her people and nor for her heart. She smirked a little knowing her heart would just be the bonus.

Clarke didn't hear from Lexa anymore that day. She wondered if that was a good sign or not. She didn't know what would happen next. Should she find the Commander or wait for the Commander to find her. The guards that Lexa had stationed outside my door at all times were also instructed to ensure Clarke received her meals every day. She was brought out of her own thoughts by the knock on the door, the guard informing her that he had her dinner. She opened the door and gently welcomed the food, thanking him. He nodded as a gesture to return my thanks.

After she finished eating, she opened the door and handed the tray back out to the guard standing there. Clarke went back in the room and decided she could use an early nights rest. Every night since she got there, she has had trouble sleeping. Never knowing what was going to happen or knowing exactly what she was doing here.

Sleep took over quickly which Clarke was thankful for. She needed a good nights rest. She was in such a deep sleep that she never heard any knocks at the door or anyone entering the room. In fact, she had no idea how long she had been sitting in her room. When Clarke finally woke up, opened her eyes, and looked around, she was startled to see Lexa sitting on the couch in her room.

"Geeze Lexa, what are you doing here?" Lexa had been looking at a piece of a paper and didn't realize that Clarke had stirred awake.

"I have been waiting for you to wake up. I sent a guard to get you but they said you never responded to them knocking on the door. It worried me that you weren't ok or had snuck out. I came to check on you. I have only been here a short while. But we do have some business to attend to today."

Clarke sat up in the bed yawning and stretching. "What do we have to do today?"

"Well for starters, there are few things that I am going to need you to decide on and make official with the Skaikru clan. You will be the leader of the clan but I need you to name your Ambassador and General. Please choose wisely on these two because they would be the ones standing in for you and making decisions for the clan when you are unable to. Now, the other 12 clans have an Ambassador that stays here in Polis and makes council decisions for the clans. The leaders stay on their own lands. However, you are going to be the exception. I want you to be the representative here in Polis for your clan and your Ambassador to run things on your lands." Lexa said factly but optional. As much as she wanted Clarke to be where she was, she knew Clarke would want to be with her people. If Lexa could pull off what she had planned and truly make it so all clans were at peace and no war then there would be a time for them to be together in the capital.

"When do you need this information and is there anything else you need?" Clarke said making note of the details she needs to gather for the Commander.

"I want to do the initiation 1 week from today so I will need the names from you in 3 days. You will also want to make sure you have those two as well as anyone else that you would like to be present for the festivities that will take place for your initiation. Now the actual ceremony will take place in the throne room and the only people that will be present for that will be me, the 12 Ambassadors, and your two named council. Once the ceremony is complete, there will be a feast and festivities and a party that all that you invite will be able to attend as well as any others from the other 12 clans." Lexa stopped to allow Clarke to catch up to what will happen and what will be needed.

"What about attire for the ceremony?" Clarke asked assuming there would be some kind of special attire she will need to wear.

"I will have that worked out for you in the next couple of days. I am also assuming you will want to travel to your lands with your people to let them know what's going on and what the plan is?" Lexa stated looking for a response from Clarke.

"Yes, I feel it would be better to discuss these changes to my people in person and speak with individuals that I believe would be suited to be on the clan council. Will I be able to depart this afternoon and I will arrive back within the 3 days with the names as well as the individuals that will be present?"

"Of course. I will send two guards with you to escort you to your lands. They will stay with you and report back to me if there are any issues. They will escort you and your people back to ensure a safe return. Would you like me to attend with you and ensure your people understand my intentions for you and your people or do you want to do this on your own?"

Clarke thought about it for a second. Wondering if the Commander attending with her and explaining the coalition and the intentions would be better or her attending by herself to address her people. Ultimately, Clarke decided it would be best if she did this on her own. Her people would take the news better from herself rather than coming from the Commander.

"I believe for the best interest of my people that I should address this on my own. I don't want them to feel intimidated or threatened by your presence until I have had a chance to discuss it with them."

"I completely understand. I trust that you know what's best for your people." Lexa said nodding in affirmation of Clarkes decision.

"One last major thing that I need so I can get your attire tailored. What color do you want as your clan representation?"

Clarke never thought about that, she never thought she would need a color. She had no idea where to being for that.

"Personally, I think a shade blue would be stunning on you." Lexa started looking at Clarke with eyes from Lexa and not the Commander. Clarke was starting to notice a change in tone and demeanor when she was speaking with Lexa vs the Commander.

"How about I leave that to you as a surprise for me? I will let you choose a color that you think would be a good representation of me. After all, I am the Skaikru Clan." Clarke was looking at Lexa and saw a fire in her eyes that she had never seen before.

"I can take care of that for you Clarke kom Skaikru. I will have the guards meet you at the front gates in 2 hours to escort you to your lands to address your people. I will discuss the details with them and my expectations. I will leave it to get ready." Lexa nodded to Clarke before making a quick exit.

A/N: Wonder how the people of Arkadia are going to take to reporting to the Commander…. Let me know your thoughts and how you think Skaikru should/will react.

Disclaimer: I don't own the characters or the plot of the storyline. Just my adaptation had Lexa not been killed.
