Sheldon's Point of View
Mom's mouth curled up into a smile. I couldn't figure out what was so funny.
"Baby it's not idiotic. It's eidetic," she explained.
I shrugged. It wasn't that I didn't care but my big twin sister was having an operation, and I could lose her.
"Mom," I said, "Do you want to know what I want for my birthday? I just want my sister to be alright."
"I know sweetheart," Mom said.
"We all do, buddy," Dad added ruffling my hair.
"Can I go to the playroom," I asked.
"Did you get your homework done," Dad asked.
"Have you met me," I asked.
"I'll take him," Memaw said.
Once we were in the playroom I went for the white and gray clay. I made a model of the brain. It took me about 20 minutes.
"Good work Moonpie," Memaw said.
"Thanks. Memaw do you think they're done with Missy's surgery?"
"I hope not Moonpie," Memaw said, "That would mean bad news."
"How long does her surgery take," I asked.
"It could take up to seven hours," Memaw replied.
"Let's go back downstairs," I said, "I want to be there when we get the news."
Memaw put her arm around me and we walked to the elevator. The surgery took 10 hours. Finally, Dr. Grey came out.
"Who are you," Mom asked
"My name is Timothy Grey," the doctor said, "I was the one who operated on Missy. She sailed through the operation. She's in recovery now so you can see her-"
"I'd like to see her too," I said.
Dr. Grey knelt down to my level.
"How old are you, little guy." he asked.
"I'm five. I'll be six in three weeks and one day."
"I see. The problem is you're too young to come in-"
"Don't give me that malarkey," I said, "Missy is my older twin sister. We are twins and Irish twins at the same time and you are going to let me see her."
"I'm not supposed to," he said.
"Do you want me to talk to your supervisor," I asked
"No," he said, "You can see her."
