Chapter Two
At Maya and Carina's
"Maya? You okay?" Carina asked, seeing Maya with a frown on her face.
"Just a hard shift. Had a rough call." Maya told her wife and started to walk to their bedroom but Carina quickly stepped in front of her.
"Maya, please talk to me. I don't want you bottling anything up." Carina gently rubbed Maya's arm.
"We just had a bad call. Andy and I were on aid car and we had to deal with an abusive boyfriend. He almost hit both Andy and me when we were trying to treat the woman. He got free from the cops." Maya explained.
"Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?" Carina asked, pulling her wife into a hug. Maya shook her head. "How about you go get changed and then we can go to bed and I'll just hold you if you'd like." Carina offered.
"I'd like that," Maya said as there was a knock on the door. Maya furrowed her eyebrows and went to open the door. She saw her best friend and her husband and was even more confused. "Andy? Sullivan? What are you guys doing here?" Maya saw that Andy was trying to hide a grin while Robert kept a straight face.
"Can we come in?" Andy asked, grin growing into a smile. Maya nodded and the couple walked into the apartment. "So, I know this is random, but we needed to talk to you and I didn't want to wait to tell you and I figured you could use some good news right now." Andy ranted before being cut off by Robert.
"What she is trying to say, Maya, is that I met with Chief McCallister today." Robert watched Maya frown. "I talked to him about giving you another chance and if you still want the position, it's yours," Robert told her, a small smile gracing his lips. Maya looked shocked. She looked from Robert to Carina to Andy.
"Are you okay with this?" Andy's smile was still on her face but it slipped when her best friend was more concerned about her.
Andy let go of Robert's hand and walked closer to Maya, placing both her hands on Maya's shoulder. Carina caught a glance at Andy's engagement ring and had to bite her lip to stop her smiling when she noticed that Robert had a ring on his left hand too.
"Maya, I promise I am okay with this," Andy looked back at Robert. "Right now I want to focus on my marriage," Andy told her and Maya raised an eyebrow. "I'm serious, Maya. I'm more than okay with having you as my captain." Andy grabbed one of Maya's hands. "You and I are going to be running 19 together someday, remember?" Maya smiled and nodded,
"Is that really why you came over here?" Maya asked, eyebrow raised. "This could've waited."
Robert walked to Andy and wrapped his left arm around Andy's shoulder and shook his head. "Andy told me you two had a rough call so she wanted to try and cheer you up," Robert said, moving his left hand around, wanting to see if Maya would notice.
Andy could tell what her husband was doing and was starting to have a hard time keeping it together, especially when Maya asked Robert about it.
"Sullivan, you okay? What's going on with your hand?" Maya asked and Andy couldn't help it anymore, she giggled and then covered her mouth with her left hand and Maya's eyes widened when she saw the diamond ring her friend was wearing. "Oh, my God." Maya walked over to her friend and grabbed her hand. "It's beautiful, Andy. Sullivan has good taste." Maya looked at Robert. "You know, most of the station may not understand yet, but I see how much you mean to Andy. Thank you for making my best friend happy again, Robert." Maya said, shocking Andy and Robert himself.
"Wow," Andy said and looked at her husband. "Babe I think you got the seal of approval with Maya using your first name." Andy joked and Maya softly swatted her arm. "Anyways, we just wanted to come by to tell you before I email the team about it. Now if you excuse us, we gotta go home and finish our talk." Andy hugged Maya and then walked out of the apartment.
Maya turned to Carina, disbelief on her face. She slowly walked over to Carina, pulled her into a kiss and pulled her toward their bedroom.

Robert and Andy had barely walked in the doorway when she spoke. "Robert, I want to get married."
Robert chuckled. "Um. Babe, we already are."
Andy swatted Robert's arm. "You know what I mean, Robert."
"I know. And I would love to Renew our vows in front of all our friends and family." Robert said and then pulled Andy into a kiss. Andy smiled. "For now, we need to talk about how you ran away instead of talking the issue out."
Andy nodded. "I know, and I get how wrong my actions were, Robert." Andy sighed and sat down on the couch. She looked up at Robert. "Robert, I'm sorry I hurt you. You didn't deserve it when you were just trying to save the station from the threat McCallister made." Andy pulled Robert to sit next to her. "Robert, I love you so much, Okay? I'll spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to you and proving just how much I do." Andy told him, holding one of his cheeks in her hands. "I'm sorry, Robert."
Robert leaned forward and gently kissed Andy on the lips. "I know you're sorry, Andy. I know you were mad but I need to know you won't run away the next time things get hard," Robert told her.
Andy held both Robert's hands in hers. "Robert, I know I wasn't there for you after your surgery and before that, I told you I was getting used to being married." Andy ran a hand through her hair. "I'm not used to this, Robert. The most serious relationship I had was with Ryan," Andy swallowed, trying to keep her emotions in check. "So being married, being in a committed relationship instead of an off and on again one," Andy pauses. "I don't know how to describe it, Robert. I'm sorry." Andy looked down.
"Andy, this, how you're feeling right now, is exactly why you need to stick around to work things out with me instead of running." Andy nodded. "I love you too, Andy. I need you to be open and honest with me about things. I'm never going to run away or shy away from you. I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly and I will never run away, Andy," Robert lifts her chin, "I promise I will never make moves with my career without talking to you." Robert told her and Andy nodded. Andy leaned forward and pulled Robert into a kiss. She wrapped a hand around his neck and moved her body to be on top of his when he leaned against the couch. He held his hands on her sides and slid his hands under her shirt after a few minutes.
Andy moaned into Robert's mouth. "Bedroom." was all Andy said and he stood up with her in his arms still. Andy wrapped her legs around his stomach and he rushed up to their bedroom.

Maya and Carina were lying in bed, each trying to catch their breath.
"Hmm, You are so damn sexy, Car," Maya said, pulling Carina closer to her. Carina's naked form was almost entirely on top of her, making her moan.
"Bambina, how are you feeling about becoming captain again?" Carina asked, tracing random patterns on Maya's stomach.
Maya sighed. "You know, when I first became captain I was so focused on just being in charge that I neglected my friends, I brushed them off, their problems didn't seem to matter as much as me running the house but as time went on I realized how wrong my ways were and I began to change. You coming into my life helped with that." Maya told her wife, rubbing her cheek gently. "I want to be captain again and I'm glad I'll be getting a second chance at it," Maya told her wife, a smile on her face. "I'm going to be a great captain, with a great wife and a great team and I can't wait to go back to work tomorrow," Maya told her wife with a huge smile on her face.
"You're already a great captain, Maya DeLuca-Bishop," Carina reassured her wife. She gently kissed Maya and held her cheek in her hand. "You're a badass." Kiss. "You have the respect of your team." Kiss. "You have so much greatness in you, just never forget that." Kiss. Carina pulled back and smiled at her wife.
"Thank you, Carina. I don't know what I would do without you." Maya kissed Carina.
"Crash and burn," Carina joked, trying to hold back a laugh but failing. Maya raised an eyebrow and without warning flipped them so that she was on top and Carina was on the bottom.
"You're going to pay for that Carina DeLuca-Bishop." Carina giggled. "At least you got an idiom right though, babe." Maya teased, a cheeky grin on her face and Carina glared at her. She stared at Maya for seemingly forever when she flipped them. Maya looked shocked as Carina leaned down.
"I love you, Maya," Carina said and then placed a gentle kiss on Maya's lips.
"I love you too, Carina."
