CHAPTER 7

(PETER'S P.O.V)

It was 7:00am when Roman, and I entered Hemlock Grove river to wash off all the Bear's blood on us. We had gone through with our plan, me turning wolf, with Roman by my side. We went into the woods, and encountered six blood thirsty bears. "So this is it huh," Roman spoke up, as he floated on his back next to me. "Human at last." "Human at last." I echoed watching the sunlight sparkle off the water. "It's gone. I can no longer feel my Valgulf powers pulsing through my veins." I simply said glancing at Roman. "I've waited so long for this fucking moment." Roman stated with a sigh of relief. Before I could respond, he submerged himself for a minute. He surfaced with a grin on his face. "I'M HUMAN!," Roman shouted to the heavens, as I chuckled at his antics. Suddenly I heard laughter coming from the riverbank. "Hey isn't that-." I paused and turned to Roman who had heard the laughter as well.

On the riverbank was Jessica and Adilyn strolling along and laughing at one another. "HEY!," Roman exclaimed to get their attention. The girls stopped and waved instantly recognizing us. "JOIN US!," Roman continued to exclaim. "Is it cold?!," Jessica inquired. "No. The water is actually warm. It's summer, you know." Roman shouted back. "I got to hand it to you Roman, you're bold." I said to Roman, referring to him boldly asking them to join us. I was about to taunt Roman, when I saw the girls strip down to their bra and panties. Within the next ten minutes they swam out to us. "How did last night go for you two?," I questioned eager to know how Adilyn's Uncle received them. "Devastating," Adilyn responded with a sad smile. "We all cried." Jessica spoke up. "I took a Valium, and Jessica woke me up this morning, and suggested we take a walk, and here we are." Adilyn explained.

"We're so sorry-" Roman began to say. "Don't be." Jessica suddenly cut Roman off. "If I could go back, and change our outcome, I would in a heartbeat. Since I can't, I choose to move on. I want to… I have to… It's the only way I can deal with this. Besides my loved ones like my vampire father Bill would have wanted us to." "To new beginnings." Roman responded cheerfully. "To new beginnings." Jessica echoed, as she and Roman swam around each other. As they continued to laugh, and learn more about each other, I suddenly noticed Adilyn was beginning to swim away quietly. "Hey," I said, finally catching up to her. "What's wrong?." "I envy Roman and Jessica," she blurted out. "I wish I could just move on like that, but I can't. I'm not even happy that I'm not fae anymore." "Roman and Jessica," I said, glancing back at them. They were both floating on their backs, enjoying each other's company. "They choose to look at the situation from a different perspective. Which is fine, but you and I loved being supernatural, and right now feel cheated by fate."

"We?," she asked. "Yeah we," I responded. I felt the same way Adilyn felt. I wasn't ready to stop being a supernatural, new beginnings as a human meant uncharted territory. Human meant being vulnerable to enemies. I could only imagine the emotional pain Adilyn was enduring, considering she had lost her entire family and friends. I had once lost Destiny, and you see how that ended. "You're gonna get through this," I comforted her, as she smiled sadly at me. "I'll help you…"
