CHAPTER THREE

ATTACK THE DINO

BEN COULD NOT SIT BY and watch what was unfolded. He stood right across from the window sill, watching this giant creature glaring at the young woman. A predatory look on his eyes. It hasn't been a full day and already trouble has spawned. He heard people cry from the distance. Buildings were collapsing, fires bloomed. His ears were flooded with terror and fear. Ben lifted his arm, scrolling his Ultimatrix quickly, trying to find the right alien for the job. Panicked, he had no time to analyze the catalogue.

Outside, the giant reached its oversized hands over to the young woman, grabbing her like she was a sub sandwich. The moment this was displayed in his eye sockets, Ben blindly smashed the core down on his Ultimatrix, enveloping him in a bright green flash.

With the young woman's head just inches away from the giant's mouth. A bright green flash tugged on the giant's attention. Then...

"HEY BIG HOMELESS GIANT! WANNA EAT SOMETHING, HOW ABOUT A KNUCKLE SANDWICH!" Thundering to the rescue was a rampaging giant dinosaur with hard skin that was colored brown on its outer side and beige on its inner side. It had the Ultimatrix crest emblemized to its chest. The big eyed giant monster turned around for a brief moment to meet its next prey, only to meet a massive fist connecting to its face, forcing it to drop the young woman to the ground. It's eyes popped out a bit, blood smeered out of its broken skin as bones started to crack like glass. With the quick stroke from the Dinosaur's arm, it launched the monster backwards towards a building with a force unseen by anyone behind these walls.

BAM! The giant's back was glued to the bricked building, its face, disconnected from its entire head, its teeth, resembling that of a drunken trucker in the Appalachian Mountains. It's eyes drooped down, barely hanging by the thread of a vein, rocketing left and right like a pendulum from an old grandfather clock.

"AND BY THE WAY! – HUMUNGASAUR!" Humungasaur roared.

When the woman woke up from her stupor, her vision was a blur for that brief moment until it cleared. Towering before her was a muscular, giant dinosaur in a defensive position glaring at the monster that was trying to eat her. Her swords were on opposite ends from her, she was in no position to fight back or at least defend herself. The creature was very close to her, so there was no telling how it would react if she tried to run away. She was at this thing's mercy.

"Be sure you pay the tab! Freeloader," Humungasaur scoffed, before taking a brief look at the young lady. She looked petrified, terrified even. Her eyes were darting to her blades. She backed herself tightly to the wall as she rolled herself in a ball.

~ Oh man, what have I gotten myself into. I went out of the frying pan and into the fire. This creature, whatever it was is staring down at me! Oh my god, what do I do? What do I do? Is this...is this how I go out? Is this my end?~ thought the young woman, then her shoulders were tapped. A gently tap, not rough tap, just a gentle tap.

"Hey, are you okay?" The dinosaur said, "I think you dropped these."

The woman, briefly opened her eyes and saw this creature, with a soft smile just handing her her blades back. "Based on your weapons, I deduced that you are a soldier, I recon. I'd be careful around here."

"Who-who are you?" asked the young woman with a timid tone in her voice. The fear never leaving her. Something to which the dinosaur creature picked up. Just before the dinosaur could answer, a distant roar entered the dinosaurs's ears. He turned around and saw a slender, but menacing giant heading its way, glaring at the dinosaur in question.

"What are those things?" the Humungasaur asked.

"They are Titans," said the woman, "They exist to extreminate us! They wish to kill us, that is all they want to do!" the woman said. "And now we're sitting ducks!"

"Have you played football?" the Humungasaur asked.

"Football?" the woman asked, very curious at the dinosaur's vernacular. She still couldn't get over the creature's advanced fluent use of language, as if he was talking like he was human.

"Forget I asked, grab on!" the dinosaur grabbed the young woman and held her tight as he charged towards the giant. The Titan roared as it charged towards the dinosaur with great speed, only for it to be tackled, pushed and crashed to a building. The dinosaur creature kept running looking for a safe enough spot to drop off the young woman.

~What am I doing? Despite how fun knocking these monsters are, I have to take this girl somewhere safe. And I don 't have a good eye of this place. Looks like I gotta play grit ball if I have any chance in saving this young woman's life –– whoever she is~ noted the dinosaur.

Like a giant wrecking ball, the dinosaur pushed through with little to no difficulty. He couldn't transform into another creature, not in this state where these giant zombie monster were all over the place. He had to find a spot that was devoid of these monsters. As the clouds covered the skies, turning the town dark to reflect the darkness of this battle. The dinosaur finally came across a block that was quiet and just far enough from these monsters for her to be safe. Slowly opened his hand to see a tearful young woman, shaking from fear. The dinosaur looked both ways before gently dropping her off from the top of the roof.

"Here you are," he said, "Are you okay?"

The woman was just too stunned to speak, a giant monster that came out of nowhere, punched the daylights out of a Titan that was about to eat her, and then saved her from a bunch of other Titans by bulldozing every monster that came its way, had found an area just far enough away from the action for her to be safe. Thing was...why? It just didn't make any sense to her. Why would this creature save the life of a human?

The woman nodded. The dinosaur turned to see a taller building, one that looked like a castle not too far away from where they were at.

"I'm guessing that might be your safe haven. It's not too far from where we're standing. Can you make it from here?"

"I-I-I'll try," she said.

The dinosaur shared a smile as it turned around, before it left her sight completely, she stopped him.

"Wait!" she called, the dinosaur turned.

'Why'd you saved me?" she asked.

The dinosaur smiled, "Because I'm a hero. It's what I do."

The woman stood up, a bit of confidence was crawling back to her, "I'm Mina Carolina of the 104th Cadet Corp. Thank you, may I know your name?!" the woman, now named as Mina asked.

"Call me Humungasaur, for now at least. Now, go and get somewhere safe, that's an order," Humungasaur quipped as he ended it with a wink.

"Humungasaur," Mina said with a soft tone, she turned to face the gentle giant before he could walk away, "Wait, Humungasaur, you asked me earlier what those things were right?"

"Right, you said they were Titans if I can recall," he said.

"You need to strike the nape of the neck of the Titans. If you are a hero of humanity, you cannot knock them out. You need to annihilate them! They have been feasting on humans since forever. So please! Please save us!"

Ben wasn't above killing, he only killed if it were absolutely neccesary. His no-kill rule could only go by as far, and since these creatures were like mindless zombies anyway. Reasoning with them proved to be useless. With a serious look on his face, he nodded.

"Understood," Humungasaur said. "Thanks for the info..."

Suddenly, there was a guttural roar nearby. Humungasaur turned around and saw what Mina described. A Titan, but this one was...was different. This creature was well-proportioned and physically fit, sporting a well-defined, lean, muscular appearance in lieu of the more common pot-bellied or emaciated appearance of regular Titans. It had long hair and an exposed skeletal-like jaw.

"Mina, run!" Humungasaur urged as this rampaging Titan charged its way towards Humungasaur.

The two titans clashed against each other, each testing each others strength. Humungasaur bashed its head against the Titan and then delivered a drastic punch to the face, sending it backwards. Though, unfortunately, the Titan caught its balance before its feet hit hit a building and continued to charge, its rage locked on Humungasaur.

Mina, not even moving a muscle watched the whole thing unfold. This Humungasaur was able to hold his own against this strange abnormal Titan. She couldn't make any sense of it. It saved her life and told her to run to safety as it fights off this strange Titan. She was divided, she wanted to run to safety, leave this battle to this dinosaur creature to this Titan, but then, it saved her life from multiple Titans. If it wanted to kill her, why give her her blades back. As Humungasaur and the strange Titan was out of her line of sight, all of that confidence that was lost was crawling back to her once again.

~ I've never met a creature like this Humungasaur before. A monstrous creature with extraordinary power. He could have killed me but...he didn't. Not only he let me live but...he protected me from the other Titans. He was fighting them like they were nothing. If he gets close ot the interior, he might run a risk of running into one of the Cadets. They'd strike him down without a second thought. I have to follow him. Perhaps with this creature on our side, we can stand a good chance against the Titans!~ Mina thought, her smile pursed. She ran off the edge of the roof and zipped to the next building following the humanoid dinosaur.

Meanwhile, Humungasaur was slammed into a building by this lean muscular Titan. Humungasaur, injured, got up. He rolled up his shoulders and popped his neck. He spat out a tooth and locked eyes against the Titan, to whom was not spared by any damage Humungasaur thrashed upon this creature. His face was sculpted a new one, its right arm was somewhat limp, and its teeth, a good amount of it, was missing.

"I hope you like your fun, Mr. Teen Giant, because its time I take you back to school! It's time to get Ultimate!" Humungasaur shouted as he smashed the Ultimatrix core on his chest. Once he did that, four spikes appeared. A purple energy ring spread throughout his body transforming Humungasaur from a brown humanoid dinosaur into a humanoid dinosaur-like creature, with dark blue armor similar to that of an Ankylosaurus. He is more burly and muscular than his pre-evolved form. He had camo-green skin and his helmet had three silver spikes running down the top, and two downward pointing black horns on the sides. Its back armor has long spikes running down each side, his plated chest and torso are dark blue with five spikes on each end and his tail has a blue mace on the end of it, with silver spikes. Its knuckles have silver barrels on them, which he can transform into four-barreled missile launchers. He has black claws. It bore the Ultimatrix crest, now with four spikes on the edge of each side, on its chest.

"Meet ULTIMATE HUMUNGASAUR!" Ultimate Humungasaur yelled as the rampaging Titan pushed its right arm forward and pulled back his left arm ready to deliver a power punch to this strange creature's face, only unfortunately for the creature to grab the arm. "Nighty night!" Ultimate Humungasaur said with a guttural tone its voice launching a punch so fierce it sent shockwaves across the block. Windows shattered, walls cracked, the wind blew o all sides, treating the surrounding area like a loose game of dominoes with a loud crack! The power from Ultimate Humungasaur's devistating punch ripped the top half of the rampaging Titan's head clean off, like a cheap square of toilet paper. The amount of power it had against the raging Titan was that vast. The punch ripped the head off the Titan's body with an explosive traumatic impact, the head bounced on the first building before it stuck a landing on the next adjacent one, sticking itself on the wall of a larger shop not too far from where it stood. It took a few seconds but it drooped off from the crater of the shop to the ground without any resistance.

"Heh, looks like I call it a hole in one! – huh?" Something caught Ultimate Humungasaur's attention, or better yet – someone.

He saw someone's back was poking out.

"Okay, this just raised even more questions than answers," Ultimate Humungasaur said.
