The Hunted
The Lagoon

The urge to dive head first into the pool of crystal clear water still had a hold of Soifon now that she stood on the edge of the sun lit body of water. The calming waters tickled at her toes and the rays of light were so warm and inviting Soifon found it hard to focus on anything but the waters lapping at her feet. Her silver eyes focused on that sensation once more, she examined how the ripples glinted beneath the rays of golden light that flooded the clearing, tinting the soft sand all around her in a golden hue.

Where - am - Soifon's thoughts drifted around her in a sleep-like state that she soon found her attention back on the water inviting her towards it before she finished her thought process. The clearing felt familiar to her, she had been here before, if only a few times now but still its warmth and safety welcomed her, guiding her to take a step forward. She felt the soft sand shift beneath her feet after doing so and sighed happily at how peaceful everything was. Her heart beat was slow and quiet, every bone and muscle in her body seemed to be completely at ease from the heat which warmed her entire being. She waded through the water in a dreamlike state, drawn in by how the feelings grew stronger now that she stood up to her thighs in the crystal clear waters, her fingertips twirled across the surface which sent delightful shivers up her spine.

Yoruichi… Soifon breathed in contently at how skillfully her partner quelled the storm building within her and how little snippets of memory aided in restoring tranquillity within her heart - Yoruichi's fingers touching hers brought back the moment of their hands touching at the office party. That brief moment of contact had brought a long lost warmth, it never even crossed her mind once to describe how she felt as 'cold' until Yoruichi was there, in front of her again despite all the odds. Her memories confirmed this by comparing how her previous work life was to work in silence, shut away from the world to not be disturbed when now, it was filled with Yoruichi's voice bubbling away at her, filling her office with light and laughter over the speaker phone while Soifon continued to tap away on her laptop, quite content to listen and swap anecdotes into the evening.

Yoruichi was able to make her feel better just by being around her, she never would have believed that it was possible for someone to turn running down a seemingly endless flight of stairs into an ice breaker for their third date and yet, Yoruichi had done just that as Soifon recalled just laughing with Yoruichi when they both felt like they going to pass out and seeing spots in their attempt to not take the lift to the ground floor. Laughter seems to present the perfect opportunity for Yoruichi to tease her all the more by pushing the boundaries between them and now Soifon recalled the times where, out of the blue for herself, Yoruichi would hug her. Just like the time when the playful woman pulled Soi into her warm body outside Kisukes's house and a few other times. A simple show of affection that was enough to leave her speechless only now, Soifon found she never liked the moment it ended and how Yoruichi's presence left an empty patch that only went away when she was able to feel those beautiful, passionate arms wrap around her protectively once more.

And oh boy was Yoruichi passionate, Soifon felt heat flooding her body from the memories of their time in Sweden together and the night they had first met where not even the world ending would have separated them but it wasn't just their activities in bed that came to mind at the idea of this word, it also contained every kiss shared with Yoruichi. If being held by Yoruichi was akin to being wrapped in a warm, fluffy blanket then kissing her felt like a matchstick being set alight. It sent sparks through her and sent her tummy in a flutter and other times it felt like gentle embers against a summer night backdrop and yet had the power to turn into a gigantic, roaring fire that refused to go out until either side was finally satisfied.

Sweden itself was now presented to Soifon and even she had no idea how one could even begin to comprehend what spell had fallen over them in that country. She had tried to understand it now and then, to put words of meaning to how she had felt and the best she had been able to come up with was the word 'hunger.' Every tiny insignificant thing Yoruichi did on a daily basis made Soifon hungry for more, she craved any and everything given to her and even took it for herself too, not able to withstand the feeling of being starved anymore. This new hunger never left her now, she was often the one calling Yoruichi while she was working or fantasising about her when she couldn't talk or see Yoruichi directly, actively seeking out a means to satisfy this craving within herself. That very same hunger acted like a double edged blade however as it was the root cause of her stomach twisting at the sight of Yoruichi in the arms of another and it continued to rip and tear her apart from the inside when another held Yoruichi's hand as if she belonged to them and not her.

Yoruichi was hers right? She had to be after all this time, how could she not be…

The shimmering blue waters turned darker as she looked down into the unknown depths further out into the lagoon and she hesitated, afraid to take another step. She didn't know what would happen if she left the shallows, she felt like she was just getting to grips with things as they were now but if Yoruichi was really waiting for her down at the bottom, what if Soifon waited too long? Would Yoruichi's feelings dull and fade over time if she was forced to wait till Soifon felt ready? What if someone else did try to take Yoruichi from her?

"I am yours," Yoruichi's whisper silenced the doubts and fears forming within Soifon. "All yous," Soifon breathed out and marvelled at how the woman standing in front of her could call Soifon powerful when Yoruichi could tame an ocean's worth of storms within her very soul with three words alone.

Compassionate, golden irises saw the brief moment where silver, uncertainty changed into a deep longing desire but that was nowhere near enough time to prepare Yoruichi for the strength behind Soifon's practically feral attack on her lips. Yoruichi's blissful state of mind was now lost in trying to play catch up now that Soifon was pushing her backwards, they stumbled against the other side of elevator, one minute Soi's hands were in her hair, the next she felt her head being pushed to the side, exposing her neck as her darling bumble bee turned into a ferocious queen demanding everything from her and more.

A jacket fell to the floor - Yoruichi barely registered the fact that it had been on her mere moments ago, any rational thoughts were hard to focus on now that Soifon's hands had gone under her top to continue her assault on Yoruichi's body.

"Bee -" Yoruichi gasped, both her mind and body reeling from the frenzied assault, it felt like it was taking all of her last willpower to remain standing. Something Soifon seemed determined to put an end to since the owner of Balance Industries pushed her leg between Yoruichi's thighs. The fire of passion within Soifon's silver eyes roared ever more at how Yoruichi now clung to her for support and heard Yoruichi's breathless moans as they rocked together on the spot.

Yoruichi tilted her head backwards to let Soifon kiss and bite the exposed soft skin there more when out of the corner of her, her vision caught sight of the floor indicator lighting up as the lift they were in ascended between floors.

Someone had activated it.

Unable to form fluentant words, Yoruichi tapped Soi's shoulder repeatedly to alert the owner of the company and of herself in this particular moment to the fact that they were not going to be alone for much longer.

"What?" Soifon breathed out, her voice laced with a lustful power that made Yoruichi's heart skip a beat or two. Possibly three, she stopped breathing that was for sure as she pictured Soifon stood over her with the same expression from the poker game. Yoruichi gestured weakly to the indicator and was reminding herself that breathing was a key factor to being alive while Soifon breathed out heavily and took in the fact that the lift was in motion.

"I'm going to fire whoever pressed that button." Soifon ran a hand through her hair in an attempt to steady herself. The shorter woman stepped back from Yoruichi and straightened her office jacket as she turned to face the door, "I'm not joking this time either." The flames within her that burned to have Yoruichi right here and now began to frustrate Soifon the longer she was not consuming her lover. When the expected laughter or some comment of agreement from said lover did not happen, Soifon glanced at her to see Yoruichi had yet to recover whatsoever, in fact she was doing the opposite and was currently sliding down the wall of the elevator until she was sat, breathless on the floor, her face flushed with colour, her hair and clothing in disarray.

"Yoruichi?" Soifon blinked rapidly and shook her head, this sight was only making her want to pounce and press her advantage on the woman all the more.

"Fire them." Yoruichi's voice quivered with unfilled desire.

If Yoruchi expected sympathy from Soifon at this point, she was greatly mistaken, in fact her state of distress seemed to only empower the business owner because Soifon's expression was the look of a hunter who had cornered their prey.

"Fire them and fuck me." Yoruichi had to admit that she was not above begging if it was called for. Soifon's lips curled into an almost cruel smile at hearing the desperation in her lover's voice.

"All in good time my dear, all in good time." Soifon smirked but did offer her hand to help Youruichi stand back up.

Gods I fucking love you, Yoruichi refused to speak, afraid of what she might blurt out in the heat of the moment, how the hell do you go from shy/cute to a freaking Queen of fire and fury? Although Yoruichi was back on her feet, she remained against the wall for stability, her jacket was still discarded on the floor and whoever did summon the lift was left bowing multiple apologies from Soifon's threat of being fired if they ever called for an elevator again.

Yoruichi's breath had yet to settle, her chest heaved with each intake of air, her heartbeat drummed so loudly she half expected it to burst and when Soifon turned to face her again, her body shuddered in anticipation of needing to feel her touch again - How are you so fucking powerful? Yoruichi grinned to herself, amazed at how lucky she was to have stumbled across Soifon.

"Now where were we?" Soifon advanced on Yoruichi as the lift hummed into movement, this time it was heading to the floor Soifon had picked which would take them to her office where no one would be able to interrupt them this time. Yoruichi held up a trembling hand, a brief look of confusion crossing her face when she realised something felt a little less supported than usual about her person.

"When did you undo my bra?"

"It took you that long to notice?" Soifon raised an eyebrow.

Yoruichi bit her bottom lip and gestured for Soifon to close the distance between them with her outstretched hand. The taller woman was prepared this time round for the onslaught of passion and was eager to repay the favour in kind that she was yet again thrown off balance when gentle porcelain fingers sought her own out and cupped her hand delicately. Soifon's eyes pierced her very soul as she maintained eye contact while she brought Yoruichi's thumb to her lips, she felt Soi's teeth graze her skin, the warm sensation of lips kissing her afterwards. The newly found queen bee repeated this motion, all the while those wicked silver eyes never left Yoruichi's once. In fact Soifon seemed to draw even more strength from how Yoruichi's breathing increased dramatically, her heart and body cried out to become one with her lover again.

"I -'' Yoruichi's words turned into a pleading whimper when Soifon rotated her hand and teeth and then gentle kisses found her wrist. The space between them proved too much to bear any longer and Yoruichi threw herself forwards, encircling her free arm around Soi's frame and buried her head into the crock of her neck. "How do you do this to me?" Yoruichi breathed out in a whisper, her chest ached now that clothes were the last remaining barrier between herself and partner and how badly her body trembled at the need to change that. Soifon brought her arm around Yoruichi's back, trailing it upwards until she met the back of Yoruichi's head, her fingers now wound through long purple locks of hair.

"Consider this payback." Soifon whispered through a kiss on Yoruichi's ear since it had been presented to her oh so willingly.

"P-payback?" Yoruichi's mind was completely lost in the sensations Soifon was causing she was unable to try and work out what was meant by that statement.

"Mmmm." Soifon hummed back, "From when you teased me before. Back when we were stuck in one of these things."

"I - "Yoruichi lifted her head to meet Soifon's gaze, she desperately searched for something else to say other than the three words that kept leaping to the forefront of her mind. "I - I am so glad I met you." Yoruichi did the next safest thing she could do in order to stop herself from saying anything else by leaning in for a sweet and drawn out kiss, determined to make it last as long as she possibly could.
"Come on, " Soifon ended their contact as the telltale ping of the lift reaching its destination gave them time to separate, reluctance from both parties. "I'll show you I feel the same way." Soifon gestured for Yoruichi to follow her and she did so after reclaiming her jacket from the floor and the duo had to resist sprinting towards the office where they would no longer have any risk of being interrupted.

While the happy couple no longer occupied the lift, several things did change due to the ripples caused from the unusual office gossip related to strange activity revolving around unexpected encounters in the elevators.

Most of which was sparked from an determined yet unconscious security guard having multiple first aiders surrounding him, trying to wake him up in the main entrance once they had moved him there and the commotion that was causing.

A distressed office worker had vowed to never take the elevator ever again to the very owner of the company in person and had thus began to calculate the extra time needed to reach her department floor to remain on work every day when using the stairs.

Baraggan had become more invested with the idea of forming a mutual relationship with Balance Industries and was eagerly plotting out his return trip.

And since there had been a breakdown in a lift previously which had left said owner of the company stranded in one for an extended duration of time, perhaps it was she who should have remembered that the lifts had been outfitted with new methods of support, one of these little upgrades involved the addition of security cameras which had captured the entire scene on tape.

A debate could be held on whether this was more important or not than the fact a known office gossip was now in possession of knowledge that held far greater weight then Sora herself could ever possibly know at this point in time.

And some things that should have changed as soon as possible remained the same for no one remembered that Yoruichi's name should be removed from the security team's most wanted list.

A/N: Rises from the grave to submit a chapter for a story that has been effectively dead for too long.
I dunno if anyone even remembered what this story is but if anyone dos read this chapter, I hope you enjoy it.
Not as long as I used to aim for but I need to get back into the swing of things
