"I should be doing something!" Every fiber of his being was begging him to move. To act. However, he knew he shouldn't.

Just a couple of blocks away, on an alley, a woman was being mugged by two males. It should be a quick, easy, and he could get back to work in a second. Except, it seemed that the assaulters were birds. Nowadays, it was a massive risk to be involved with them in any way.

"Hey, Zoel, keep moving!" They screamed at the red fox, currenly carrying a steel beam over his shoulders. For the moment, he continued his work. For about 5 more minutes.

Then, he slipped out of work, found that the victim was barely able to get up by himself and offered a shoulder for help, taking her to the nearest hospital.

"Sir, this is not the material I asked about." The bird woman said, holding a metal tube.

Her head was white color. She was wearing a yellow sleeveless shirt and blue overalls, as well of a sky blue piece of cloth wrapped around to cover her forehead. Her arms were color blue. Most of her was covered with some degree of grime, as she was currently working on fixing the water system of this medical clinic.

"Well, yes, but this was the same shape and a lot cheaper. So it's fine." The owner replied offering a thumbs up.

"It's not! This won't last long at all."

"H-hey, no need to be aggressive, birdie." The man with the lab coat said, putting his hand up.

"ARE YOU KIDD..." She half screamed and the man jumped a little on his place. This made her take a moment, take a breath and calm down a notch. "Let me show you something."

She then proceeded to mix some water with some alcohol and soaked the tube. Not too long after, it was beginning to erode. "What?!"

"You got scammed. It could have taken a while with just water, but a lot of medical supplies damage it much quicker."

"Awwww Man!" The medic complained.

"I have a piece that should work. But I am going to charge it to your bill too." She explained.

He didn't seem to happy about it, but accepted. "Fine Sora, do it. It can't wait any longer." He resigned, frustrated he ended up wasting more money than needed.

Now that she had an agreement, she walked back to the exit of the building, while starting to pull her keys. Except, her hands were somewhat slippery, the car key flying right out of her hands, below a bending machine. "Oh, for the love of..."

She quickly hit the floor and tried to grab the key. She tried from multiple directions and almost touched it, but couldn't quite grab them.

"Is there a problem?" She heard someone ask her.

"Lost my keys. Need something long to push them out or something." She said, sitting up. He was right behind the machine, so she couldn't really see him, nor the way his ears twitched to her voice.

Before she knew it, he grunted loudly, and the vending machine moved up, about 50 cm from the floor. She looked up, noticing a pair muscular arms bulging, holding the entire device, though barely. "Keys." He barely had any breath from the effort, but the message was delivered.

She quickly snatched them, said "I'm done" and he carefully put the thing back in place.

"Thanks." She said.

"No problem" He replied, finally poking his head, and he seemed a bit shaken when he noticed that she was a bird woman. "N-No problem." He repeated, trying to make it sound natural, but the damage was done.

She chose to just stand up, move past him, and just muttering, "Thanks, a lot." And continue with her trek. "Stupid Battle Kukkus! Making everything more complicated." She cursed inwardly.

The minute she passed him however, he could swear that something hit his nose, something that tickled it. A feather maybe? But that couldn't be, he wasn't that close to her. Either way, he was too upset on himself to focus on that.

"Idiot! She probably gets enough shit from people as it is! You need better control." He put a hand to his face. Still, that ring on her voice, it felt so familiar, but he couldn't put a finger on it. "Ah, whatever, birds are all headaches." He then moved back to the female Koala that was currently hospitalized.

"Oh, my hero!" She said, jokingly.

"That's an exaggeration." He replied, thinking that he should acted when she was attacked, not after.

"All I know is that I lost consciousness mid way and you helped me. Thanks. Although I better get out of here. Can't even pay for this probably."

"It's been take care off. I paid the doctor to treat you."

"I can't accept that!"

"Already paid him for 3 days. That's was his estimate for you to get good enough to leave."

The koala, feeling defeated, just laid back on the bed. "Thanks."

"No problem. Just worry about getting better." With that, the fox decided to go home.

Finally, the fox had returned home. Despite everything today, he still found the strength to hit the gym and workout for some hours.

He was absolutely exhausted. Still he needed to shower away all the sweat he accumulated from the day.

So, he went, undressed completely except one bracelete, which had a small purple gem with black lines, and took a quick steamy shower, washing away some of the tiredness and most of the dirt.

Now, watching his reflection in the mirror, he allowed himself a quick luxury. He closed his eyes for a moment in concentration and the gem on his ring diminished. When he opened his eyes, his appearance had changed.

His fur went from red to a bright yellow, his tail duplicated and his eyes went from an acid green into a sky blue color.

"It's being six months already, huh." Tails was getting really tired already of this Zoel identity game, but what else could he do? He was being hunted and he needed to hide. Just a tad longer, hopefully.

The bird woman entered her house running, full of excitement. After a quick dinner and some washing, she headed to her bedroom. However, it wasn't because she was ready to sleep. Touching the light buttons in an specific order, made it that the bed moved upward and a door opened below it, leading down some stairs. She walked them down and, after a minute, the door closed. She knew that the bedroom was looking normal now.

Once at the end of the stairs, she turned on the light, revealing a bunch of large super computers, all working at max capacity, all for a single purpose. At this moment, she picked up a pendant she was carrying and, after introducing some instructions, the hologram covering her body dispelled.

Her plumage turned from white and blue to purple, on the back of her head two large feather braids emerged, reaching almost to her butt, her eyes went from brown color to blue. Now, she felt comfortable.

She checked the first computer, running down a simulation.

In the middle, a large number of silver and gold bracelets were piled up and activated. Soon, they combined and formed a black sphere. Quickly, a energy force field formed around it, trying to contain it.

"Come on, come on." She repeated under her breath. However, the black hole broke free from the capsule and continued expanding indefinitely. "NO!" Wave screamed.

Now, she went to check the next one, but the same happened. And with the next one. And the next one. Before long, all the simulations had failed. She layed her head on the desk, before smacking her fist into the table several times. Another set failed. Another long night of programming awaited her. She felt like just going to sleep, postponing it, but decided not too. "You know the most about the Ark of the Cosmos. You can do this."

Wave pulled her pendant once more, this time, it projected a photo she had taken with her two partners in literal crime. "I miss you two so much."
