Authors note: Unsure if I will continue this story, reading my old writing fills me with cringe, but figured I could give it a shot seeing as I wrote out an outline for the next few chapters. Forgive the shortness of the chapter as Writing Stamina has been lost. As always, playing in JK's Sandbox.
Snape and Harry appeared outside Snape's small cottage home. Harry tripped as the sudden stop made him a victim of inertia. Bending over, he hoped he wouldn't vomit as he swallowed the bile that rose up his throat. Maybe I should be glad I haven't eaten much today…or this week, Harry thought as he swallowed it down.
Snape looked down at Harry and waited for him to stand up straight. I'm surprised at how well he took that. I remember my first apparition led me to be sprawled out on the ground. "I thought we would go to Diagon Alley today, but perhaps that would be better saved for tomorrow. I am sure you have questions considering I just suddenly appeared and uprooted you from everything you know" Snape calmly stated.
At these words, Harry looked up at the man as questions filled his mind. Which one should I ask first…. How does he know who I am? What kind of school is Hogwarts? What did the Dursleys mean by calling him a Freak like me? Who even is this man? Scrounging up the courage, Harry simply asked: "Who are you?"
"I am Professor Severus Snape, Potions Master at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am the Head of House Slytherin - one of the four houses into which students are sorted into at Hogwarts. I knew your parents when they attended Hogwarts." In this last sentence, Snape tried not to grimace at the thought of James Potter.
He knew my parents? They went to Hogwarts? Witchcraft and Wizardry - does that have to do with how Dudley got that tail? Deciding to go with the latter question, Harry asked "What do you mean, Witchcraft and Wizardry?"
What do you mean Witchcraft and Wizardry… I hoped you had the intellect of your mother at least, but perhaps you are even more of Potter's Spawn than I had thought…. "You're a Wizard, Mr. Potter. Look back in your memory and you might recount times when things had happened unexpectedly to you."
"..There was a time where I got in trouble because the teacher's hair turned blue…" That mathematics teacher was getting every other question wrong when trying to explain how basic Algebra worked…. And there was the time I somehow ended up on the school roof… which made me feel as queasy as I did when we arrived here…..Where is here anyways?
"That sounds like a case of Accidental Magic. If you recall as we left your Aunt and Uncle's home I gave your Cousin a pig's tail using Transfiguration - a type of magic that turns one thing into another. You are a Wizard, and thus you must go to a school of Magic, of which there is only one in Great Britain - Hogwarts. Now, if you have more questions, perhaps they best be answered inside. This is my summer home and it might be best if we eat before shopping for your supplies" It occurred to Snape that Dumbledore had never said how Harry was to pay for his school supplies… It seems I will have to Floo 'The Leader of the Light' to update him on the Dursleys and to get a Gringotts key…either to the Potter fortune or to the scholarship fund.Harry nodded at the thought of food, though wondered if he was to be considered a guest - as he was at - or as a sort of servant like at the Dursleys, but followed Snape in as he waved his wand to unlock the door and led him into the living room of the cottage, which was minimalistic, yet comfortable, with an open path to a kitchen, and a hallway that unexpectedly held several rooms - larger than could be expected from the outside of the home.
