Ch 10

"That trident doesn't change who you are!" Orm taunted. "A half-breed bastard."

"Well then by bloodshed, do the gods make known their will." Aquaman replied, then they charged with Orm using his trident to throw a piece of the warship at Aquaman but he batted it aside, then the duel started as they were soon striking, parrying, and blocking but neither could gain the upper hand.

Then Orm was pushed by Aquaman right into the ship's propeller, the sound of clanging metal ringing through the air as the blades sliced across his durable helmet which wasn't sliced.

"Yield the throne, yield it!" Aquaman shouted. But Orm wasn't ready to go down yet.

After Aquaman threw Orm aside and pinned him down with his trident, Orm managed to get up, then spin around and send Aquaman flying to the propeller with a hard whack of his trident.

Then Aquaman used the same trick that Vulko taught him, spinning the trident around rapidly. In his ship, Vulko grinned. Orm charged again but was thrown off by the spinning water vortex.

Then he charged for a final time but was still thrown off as Aquaman leapt over him and slashed his trident down on Orm's shattering it into a thousand silver fragments as Orm watched helplessly.

Finally, Aquaman spun around and thrust his trident at Orm, stopping short just of stabbing his neck. "Yield the throne." Aquaman said.

"Mercy is not our way." Orm replied.

"Maybe you haven't noticed, brother. But I'm not like you." Aquaman replied. He had to be better than that.

"Do it!" Orm yelled, taking off his helmet and tossing it away. "Kill me!"

"No!" another voice said. "That is enough killing." Then Orm turned around to see his long-thought dead mother, Atlanna.

After Orm surrendered, Vulko took him away and Mera presented Aquaman to the Atlanteans.

"People of Atlantis. Today began in bloodshed but let it end in peace. I give you King Arthur!" Mera announced.

"Hail to the King!" the Atlanteans cheered, then Arthur yelled his warcry and raised his trident into the air.

He was now the King of Atlantis.
