Chapter 37: Where Former Buffalo Roam

Los Santos

Monday

(Directly after the fallout of 'The Herd Hits the Curb')

Beatrix Zarra on the outside appeared to be what the Buffalo Girls championed, a woman who took no crap from no men and was 'strong' and 'independent'. She was a German young woman of above-average in height being exactly six feet tall with pale skin, short black hair in choppy pixie cut, gray eyes, several tattoos, and a muscular build with womanly features. Despite being beloved by the BGs, Beatrix quickly grew to despise them. An all-girls biker gang sounded good on paper, but not one founded a misguided sense of feminism. If anything, membership was all meant to keep herself with money and not be homeless after a few losses in Venturas…but it all led to befriending Fukada. And as she was fleeing the battle on her black Hexer Custom with red tribal patterns, she got her phone out to look at the text he had sent her earlier.

If you survive this, I left a voicemail.

She immediately listened to it.

"It's Fukada, if you're listening to this, you got away from the fighting. I just wanted to say that my plan is coming to its final stage. Once Amaghara realizes she's all alone, she'll flee back to the clubhouse. Depending on how things go, she'll cave or take her chances on the streets with everyone wanting her dead. Regardless, I'll be leaving the country as my work here is done. Thank you for being there…I can't thank you for being a friendly face to talk to…and for getting both our rocks off. I did you a favor, I got all your stuff packed into one of Amaghara's Journey IIs…you know the ones she never uses. I stashed in Harmony, behind the Harmony Plaza. Your things will be there, there's a rack on the back of the RV to hold your bike, and I left some money inside the RV as my way of saying thanks. The spare key I slipped into your jacket. Send an emoji as a reply…and I'll make sure to call you as soon as things on my end are done."

She sent the emoji before putting her phone away and pocketing the key. Beatrix was not exactly what the Buffalo Girls thought of her. As someone who grew up with decent parents and three older brothers, she had nothing against men in general. She had a laugh to herself…most of her 'sisters' in arms all thought things about her.

"For a bunch of feminists claiming to be progressive, they love to stereotype." Beatrix said to herself before lighting up a blunt.

Fukada suggested this over smoking, and she found blunts a better way to take the edge off. She stayed out of sight watching the fallout of the battle from afar. She saw Madison making a run for it.

"A shame. I never liked the bitch, but even she was smart enough to bounce." Beatrix thought, watching Madison fled.

Fia and a few would escape, most going in Madison's direction with the few heading in her direction. Beatrix revved her bike to follow them. With the battle over and a distance away, they all stopped to take a breather. Beatrix was still calm as she looked upon who made it out: Fia, Eva, and Sugar. Eva was someone Beatrix could call a close friend, she was not in it for feminism either…but the bikes. Eva could handle herself in a fight and had fought with Beatrix before. Plus, Eva and her had a fling or two when a male was not an option. She did not trust Fia as she had been close to Myne. She also did not trust Sugar…because she was dumber than a sack of hammers. Her and Madison had the same vibe, just replaced Irish trash with Southern trash. Both were chubby blonde idiots, but Beatrix supposed she'd take Madison than Sugar.

"So what do we even do now?" Eva asked before looking towards Beatrix.

"Why look at her? I should tak-"

"No. She's looking at me because unlike you, I have something of education. I have both books and street smarts. I also know something you don't. So if you take your chances on your own, go ahead. If you don't, shut up." Beatrix said as Sugar spat at the ground.

"You know what? Fuck off." Sugar said, revving her Zombie. "As if I need whatever information you have."

Sugar rode away, but Beatrix did not even stop her. Fia could see the look in Beatrix's eyes….she was debating putting a bullet in her but Beatrix turned her attention to the two of them.

"All right, I'll explain but we need to get out of the area. I need to go to Harmony anyway…so we can talk on the way." Beatrix said as they rode out north.

By the time they arrived at Harmony…Amaghara caved and Fukada was on his way out of the country with Nene spilling the beans, but Beatrix realized Nene was adding a few 'extra' details to really shit on Amaghara's reputation. Fia was at a complete loss with this…she was not sure what to even believe in anymore. She considered feminism a part of her identity, but the cold hard truth had shaken her core. Could she deny it? Maybe, but her ego and pride refused to be in denial. Her body was shaking, and time slowed all around her with sweat pooled down her body. A firm hand came on her shoulder from Beatrix.

"Look, it's not your fault." Beatrix said.

Hot tears came down Fia's face.

"No, it is…I'm the idiot who bought into the bullshit…and look where I am. Aside from the fact that the people I looked up to were all 'do as I say, not as I do' bullshitters, I essentially burned bridges, most of them I can't ever fix. It's ironic, all of my roommates save for the chubby one are all working together in another gang. So no, it is my fault. I made being in the 'life' needlessly harder by shitting on one gender." Fia said, groaning. "Fuck…"

"At least you're alive…and…"

They were cut off by the ringing of Beatrix and she looked at her phone. It was Fukada, and Beatrix walked off to answer, putting it on speaker.

"So it's over." Beatrix said.

"That it is. I'm about to hand it the shitlist to someone interested in hunting down the BGs. Of course, I removed several names. I just wanted to make sure things are square between us." Fukada said.

"Yeah, we are about to be. Look, I also need you to remove a few more names. Fia Fallon, Eva Kriska, Sugar Hicks, Madison Murphy, and at least half who escaped. At the very least, the pigs get an easy bust and everyone goes home happy." Beatrix said. "Did Rina really…you know?"

"No, she didn't…not like it matters. Be well, Beatrix." Fukada formally said.

"Good luck with married life…I know Amaghara's family screwed you over, but why marry her?" Beatrix asked.

"What better way to restart my family line than with the pussy from the people who ruined it." Fukada said sagely.

Eva and Fia had listened in. Now they know the context, they understand Fukada. He was still considering a calculating monster, but…they understand why.

"Still, she's never going to have to work again, she's got money once again, she'll live in luxury with her only job being keeping you happy, having your kids, and keeping your schlong down." Beatrix said. "That's totally a punishment…especially considering all the horrible things she'd done that should land her ass in jail or end up dead."

"Am I going to sound like a hypocrite if I ask to trade places with Amaghara?" Fia asked. "Actually how big is he?"

"Is that Fia? Oh I have an idea, just one second." Fukada said.

In the plane, Fukada sat with his pants down as Amaghara was on her knees, giving him oral in just her lace underwear. Fukada decided to make it a video call to show them.

"Holy shit!" Beatrix said as Eva and Fia came up to her phone only to balk.

Fia's jaw fell, seeing their former leader in the midst of giving head…and at the sight of the size of Fukada's meat pole. Eva was seriously considering the fact that Amaghara got the jackpot.

"Hey Tatsumi, why don't you say hi to your friends?" Fukada said, pulling his shaft out of her mouth.

"WHAT?!" She squeaked, mortified.

She covered her face as Beatrix was snickering like an idiot.

"Oh Tatsumi, it's far too late." Beatrix said with a grin as Fukada lifted Amaghara's chin. "Now I believe you have wifely duties to do."

That look of utter shame, embarrassment, and arousal with Fukada's cock in her face was a perfect shot for screenshot, but Beatrix resisted. Video mode went off but they could hear her getting back to sucking.

"And we've even. I guess this is really goodbye. Do me a favor and get her up on the mile high club for me. Bye." Beatrix said before hanging up and turning to her 'friends'. "Oh, and I was sleeping with him before."

"Damn it! Why didn't you tell me?!" Eva snapped. "I would have wanted in if I knew she was ripped and hung. A handsome guy like that under my nose."

Fia was numb before she started laughing with tears coming down.

"I want to feel bad, but she chose this. She chose to sell us out, she chose to marry him, and she probably opted to suck him off to get him in a better mood." Fia said. "But I don't feel bad for her, in fact, fuck her. Fuck the Buffalo Girls. Fuck feminism…"

"You mean third-wave feminism." Beatrix said, clearing her throat. "First and second waves got their place."

Fia got her things out of her jacket before trashing the jacket. Eva and Beatrix did the same as well with Eva lighting them on fire.

"Look, Fukada left me an RV with my stuff in it. It'll be a bit cramped but if you're willing to help pay upkeep, you guys can stay with me." Beatrix said. "Considering that GND is going to be on the hunt."

"I got my things with me already." Fia said, referring to her duffel bag on her back. "I lost my apartment, but I want to say that I will make efforts to be a better roommate."

"Good to know. Eva, what about you?" Beatrix asked.

"RVing won't be so bad because I need to get out of LS with my things at least. So you got yourself a roommate." Eva said looking over at the nearby SubUrban. "Let's just buy a change of clothes."

They went in and bought something to change into. Beatrix came out in a gray LS Panic jersey, gray cargo pants, green Stank sunglasses, and black hi-tops while retaining her fingerless gloves and German cross earrings. Eva wore similar clothes but retained her white wife beater and fingerless gloves. Fia came out in a white Rockstar sweatshirt, slate sweatpants, gray low-tops, and a gray Los Santos fitted cap while retaining her fingerless gloves. They'd trash the dirty and damaged clothes.

"If you're going to wear sleeveless shirts, maybe shave your pits." Fia said without thinking. "I mean…"

"Don't fret. Trust me even if I shave it down, it'll grow back quickly. Quick hair growth kinda runs in the family. In a week or two, I'll probably grow more of my hair back. You should see my brothers. Chest hair all over and beards." Beatrix said as Fia winced at the idea of constant body hair. "My sisters and I got off a bit better…"

"And I'm not as bad as Rainforest over there, I just don't really bother with it." Eva said. "My only razor is to keep my brows from becoming a monobrow. Such are the trials of being Serbian."

Fia supposed that she was lucky to be blonde.

"Besides, no one's coming after us to get us by our short hairs." Eva joked as Beatrix led to the RV. "It pisses me off that she had these as decoys."

Beatrix went in first, finding the tracer to get register on her phone and the money Fukada left. Half a million dollars in a duffel bag along with a note.

"Oh, Fukada. You clever bastard." She said as the other came in.

"Shit, Christmas came early." Fia said. "But what are you going to do with it?"

"Get some of it in the bank, of course." Eva suggested as Beatrix nodded.

"And Fukada left me the means to the other Journey IIs, four of them. Look, you guys can have one and you can sell the other two."

Beatrix got her bike attached on the rack before starting up the RV. Fia and Eva hurriedly got on their bikes following in tow as they were off. The round trip took a while but they managed to not only keep away from the guys, but deal with the remaining RVs. Fia was glad to have her own now. As the three were on the highway out of town, Beatrix's phone rang.

"Tricia?" Beatrix said.

"Beatrix, you're alive. What a relief!" Tricia said.

"And not alone. Hang on." Beatrix said including Fia and Eva to make it a group call. "Eva and Fia made it out too."

"Tricia, I just want to apologize for my earlier behavior towards you. I realiz-"

"Water under the bridge. Pretty sure seeing your group fall apart and your leader leave you holding the bag was punishment enough." Tricia said as Eva snickered. "What?"

"Oh she saw more than that…but we'll tell you in person." Eva said. "But what are you doing?"

"Going to Paleto Bay, I got in good with one of the Nine Tails' leaders." Tricia said sheepishly.

"Lady Liberty?" Fia asked.

"No, the blonde one." Tricia said. "Naruto."

"How'd that happen?" Eva mused.

"It's a funny story. I owed him…and I let him fuck me." Tricia said.

"I thought you batted for the same team." Eva asked.

"I do, but I've sucked a fair share of dicks when I had debts to cover. With him, oral wasn't just going to cut it. So I offered it up, even went out of his way to make it fun for both of us. I still prefer women, but…I'd seriously make an exception for him." Tricia admitted. "Thanks to him, I know I want more attentive partners…and he ended up saving my life."

She explained about the infection she had and how serious it was.

"And he didn't know?" Beatrix asked.

"Not until way after the fact. Thankfully, it wasn't contagious. So I'm off the oxy and feeling much better. I kinda owe the guy a life debt. And he did cover my hospital bill." Tricia admitted.

"Not going to lie, you kinda do owe him." Beatrix admitted. "But all this shows he's good leader material at least."

"So, the other leader, Ms. Liberty City, she's starting a gathering place for motorcycle enthusiasts like us in Paleto Bay. They're not fully set up yet, but I got a Camper, so I'll just camp out there. There's actually a truck stop right outside of the town there." Tricia mused.

"We'll be joining you. We got our own RV, and I owe you one. Let's make the most of it…and take some time off. Enjoy the beach and take in some solidarity in that we have survived." Beatrix said.

"I'll see you there then." Tricia remarked.

[Cues: Yot Club - YKWIM? (Instrumental)]

She was all alone again. Nicole had a dry laugh all considering. She dodged a bullet by virtue of her lies, but all it did was numb the truth of her cowardice. Like Beatrix, she was aware of Fukada's nature. Unlike Beatrix, she made the mistake of trying to blackmail Fukada. It had not helped that he knew how cowardly she was. He dangled the fact that he knew she killed a sister to cover something up with Myne. And now? Myne jumped ship selling her out in the process. The irony was she actually had to thank Tidal Fox…had it not been for them, she would have been hunted down. But with the fallout of the shitlist from Fukada coming out, she knew she had to get out of town.

As she finished loading up her Gang Burrito with her things and securing her bike inside of it, she was debating on where to even go. She closed it up and got to driving immediately gunning for the nearest highway out of town. She did not bother calling her older son to help…not like he would.

[Cues: Teaching Feeling OST - Lime Swing]

Café Austère, a humble French cafe in Rockford Plaza that prided itself on its minimalism and simplicity. Where Alex, Jase, and José were having a family outing there, simply enjoying the day. Alex and Jase being in an especially good mood, given that unknown to TF, they had raided some valuables from all the dead BGs. Thus, Jase had taken them out for lunch. As they were eating, one of the servers came to set out a small to-go basket of macaroons.

"We didn't order this." Alex said.

"It was ordered for the table on behalf of the madam the-Oh, she left. She paid to have that given to you…along with this for the monsieur." The server said giving him the envelope and leaving them alone.

"That's weird, I…"

He froze when he saw what was in the envelope dropping his fork.

[Music Abruptly Stops]

Alex and José looked at the envelope noticing a hand drawn insignia, but Alex realized the significance. It was a prototype design of Jase's own tag, one that only he and her knew about. The alpha prototype was not something even Cashlin or Mandy knew about. He opened it to find a handwritten letter that he decided to read for them.

"To Jase and Alex,

Your time is soon to come at a crossroad, one where you must make a choice. I am well aware of your revenge and why you seek it, when it is why I write you this letter for I…see futures of a sort. Crossroads of different decisions…and if you doubt, Jase…well…"

The letter went on to say two things, one each about the other. Something that got them taking whoever wrote this far more seriously than before before he went on.

"You have to choose, Jase. You can flee the state with your soon to be wife and stepson, giving up your revenge. Or, you can join Tidal Fox to directly aid them which will lead to your revenge that you wanted for so long. Both choices will have their benefits…and their consequences. You must however choose today because not choosing at all will lead to your disaster. There are two note cards inside the envelope…each with instruction. One if in the case you choose to flee and the other if you want to stay. The choice is yours, Jase DaWae. Sincerely, Moonchild."

"Do you know a Moonchild?" Jase asked Alex as she shook her head. "Well then, I guess I have to choose…we could run but…that wouldn't stop her from hunting for us. Plus if you do run, that will put Mandy in danger as she'll just take out all loose ends. And we've been denying TF help…, but if we stay, our plan to ultimately leave LS goes up in smoke. However, joining Tidal Fox would give us more consistent income. We played our cards right, and I could get us the assets Cashlin's stashed away…"

"Plus, us joining would mean that Cashlin would be more focused on going after the gang as a whole, meaning she wouldn't be so hyperfocused on you." Alex said as both looked pensive. "Talk about an ultimatum."

"If you run, isn't that going to tire you both eventually? You said it yourself, dad…you can't run forever." José said with an air of faux innocence. "Sometimes…you have to fight."

"Aren't you the little warrior poet?" Jase said ruffling the kid's hair. "I taught you well, and you're right. I'm done running from Cashlin…if she wants a fight, I'll give it to her because I got something she doesn't have. Something to fight for."

He got out the notecards and trashed the 'flee' option and the letter in the trash before focusing on the 'fight' notecard.

"Alex, after Cashlin's dealt with…let's tie the knot." Jase said, tucking the notecard in his jacket.

"Jase! Don't say it all of a sudden." Alex said with a light blush.

"Mom, soon to be Dad, can you stop flirting for a moment? Or are you just going to let me eat all of the dessert by myself?" José snarked as he was shoveling several in his mouth.

"Oh hell no, you ain't eating all of that by yourself." Jase mused. "That was free for all of us."

At the moment being with them, Jase knew that his revenge had changed. He did not just want to get rid of Cashlin for the wrongs she had against him, but to ensure his family was set and avenge the Invaders. He lost good people because of Kagura and Cashlin's actions. Matt, Jakob, Olga, Catrina all got screwed by them, and he refused to run out of them. Cashlin ruined his friendship with Mandy and nearly got her killed too. No, he knew what he had to do. He'd join Tidal Fox and make sure Cashlin went out screaming.

(A/N: Probably the only non-Isaribi flashback chapter thus far that focused completely on other characters. Yes, I caved and added Total Drama characters…frankly, should have done it sooner. But if you're worried about the Ella from Total Drama, it's a simple matter of just calling her Ellanor (not that she's likely to appear). Who out of Total Drama is fair game to appear? Well, I'll say everything bar Ridonculous Race (I do have a few planned exceptions) and Dramarama. To clear up on the matter of how old the characters would be, TDI came out in 2007 (2008 if you were American), most of the OG Cast would teens around the same time as Isaribi, and thus would be around all at best (23-25). Sierra and Alejandro would be on a similar boat. As for the 'campers' in Season 4 and 6 (5.2 if you're Canadian), they would lean more towards 17-19.

Moving on there's Beatrix Zarra. She's actually a twofold reference. Her design is directly inspired by the more adult works of comic book artist John Howard. (If you know exactly which comic book series, you know.), and her family line is a reference to Hortensia from Red Dead Redemption 2. And to list out Beatrix's tattoos, her right arm has the Lady Mortality tattoo (Eva and her share this tattoo), her left arm would be a tattoo sleeve akin to Hortensia's, and her lower back has the Choppers Freedom tattoo.

I almost forgot about Nicole, then again…that kinda was on purpose. Out of the former BGs, she's the one who probably is going to be on the former members' shitlist behind Myne. Her cowardice and self-serving nature did keep her alive, but now she's got no help and a not so much reputation.

Lastly, there's Alex and Jase. Now, I think Total Drama fans will quickly realize who 'The Moonchild' is. The choice is a bit of harkening back to the choice Niko is given at the end of GTA IV. It was a perfect showing of Jase's steadfastness in his goal and why getting rid of Cashlin is more than just getting revenge.)
