Chapter 56: Don't Dick About the Desert (Part 1)

Las Venturas

Friday

Alex and Jase had arrived at her new place in Prickle Pine, a fairly lavish but humble home. The inside was fairly bare, but they did find a cache of weapons and body armor left behind by C.R.A.S.H.

Jase whistled in appreciation, taking up a shotgun.

"A Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun? Nice. Could do without the LSPD tint though, but the flashlight attachment makes up for it." Jase said, getting on the body armor under his clothes. "Alex, considering that mafioso, I called Cameron and Lightning to meet us here with some intel."

He tossed her some body armor and told her that he was going to check the garage. Alex put it on before calling the house phone to check on his son.

"Belen, hey…how's my little man doing?" Alex asked before Belen told her. "RIley's teaching him how to shoot? Ugh…if it wasn't for the fact that we lived in San Andreas, I'd have a problem with that. Even then, I want him to shoot like a professional, not a gangster. I'll see you later."

Alex hung up before sweeping through the house checking for any bugs before finding none and going to find her husband.

"Any finds?" Alex asked.

"Yeah, a lime green Sabre Turbo." Jase stated. "And found the keys."

He opened the garage right as Lightning and Cameron arrived. Lightning looked eager, matching Cameron's smirking face.

"Good news?" Jase asked.

"Hell yeah. That aba-whatchamacallit, it used to belong to one of the Sindaccos' underbosses. One from the main family. After he kicked the bucket, the place was kept in said family…until very recently. Grandson thought he could not pay property taxes." Lightning explained.

"Dumbass." Alex said coming up.

"It gets better. That place is the main stash for their money, valuables, and weapons." Cameron said as Jase got in the car. "I wouldn't worry about the Italians just yet…you're probably going to plan a break in at night."

"Well let's get moving." Alex said getting in the car.

Cameron and Lightning got back in Lightning's royal blue Buffalo S as they drove right over to the abattoir. Using the key, Drake let everyone in. Soon after, they all leave their cars and enter the place. It would take some place, but they found what they were looking for. An unmarked locked freezer with a lock that Cameron could crack. Jase's phone would ring…the phone being from an unknown number.

He answered it.

"Jase DaWae?"

It was a female voice, definitely Chinese given the accent and tone.

"Who wants to know?"

"Someone who shares a common enemy. My people's allies worked with your boss…Miss Umi. But we should meet. Especially because I'll owe you one. There's an item that those greaseballs stole from my family a week prior...a priceless jian cane sword within our family. The only reason my family hasn't gone after this is because we don't exactly have proof, but I've suspected them…I just didn't have any place in mind they could be hiding it…until now. You don't realize it, but you got your hands on the reason the Italians survived so long. They'll be after you to get it back."

"Say no more, I'll get the sword back." Jase remarked. "If it's anything like the drama with the Lee family in Liberty, I'm right to assume it's important."

CLICK!

Jase hung up and Cameron got the lock open to have Lightning open the door to the fridge unit full of treasures.

"Look at the sword! Di-"

"Actually, can't let you have that." Jase said, taking it. "This belongs to the Chinese mafia in town…and I just got off the phone with them. They know we got the Italian's stash and from what I heard from her, it's their lifeline."

"Well then, some of it is not going to be our kid's college funds." Alex said giddily, taking a duffel bag stuffed with bills. "And funds to renovate the house…and maybe a bit of self-spoiling."

"It's ok to want to spoil yourself a little. I know you wanted to have funds for yourself after everything. I'm looking forward to plenty of shopping." Jase said, taking one up.

"There's at least 12 bags here…we can split it."

"8. Four of those are straight to my bosses." Jase said firmly. "This'll at least keep them off me and Alex's back. While I don't think they are the type to ask for a cut given we're on honeymoon, it'll make them happy."

"And a happy boss is one willing to delegate good jobs and reward loyalty." Alex said. "Let's load these out."

That did not take too long to get the money divided up and loaded.

"Man, you have to be some kind of lucky charm or something." Lightning said to Jase.

"Can't help but agree…I didn't think I'd ever really be married again." Alex said as Jase closed the trunk. "Or my kid would have a dad in his life but…"

"I won't call myself lucky…just willing to roll with the punches." Jase said. "But now that we have the money…we need to get out of here."

"I can't believe that jackasses tried not paying taxes when they had plenty money." Lightning mused.

"That's rich people in a nutshell." Jase remarked. "I'll meet you guys at the gym after I deal with the Triads. Stash that money away or put it in investments."

"Totally getting a new place." Lightning shot back. "In time."

Everyone left the place after dividing everything else with Jase locking the place up. With the money soon stashed up, both Jase and Alex would arrive at the Four Dragons Casino with the sword in tow. They would enter with Jase asking for his VIP suite.

"Mr. DaWae. The lady of the house wishes to speak to you in the office." A Triad security guard said as Jase nodded.

Jase and Alex were led up to a fancy pair of double doors that were opened to a lavish office, but the person sitting in the big chair was away from the door.

"Jase DaWae. Quite a story on you…Jabari speaks highly of you."

The guards frisked Alex and Jase only for the woman to stop them.

"It's okay, they are allies of us. You may leave us."

The guards left, closing the door as the woman turned around revealing herself before getting up. Her dark green eyes were sharply focused on Jase. She was a knockout given her slender yet curvaceous and athletic frame. Her short black hair that is brown in the back with an angled bob and long ear-tails. She wore a wine red skirt suit with matching low heels.

"Jingfei." Jingfei said, shaking Jase's hand. "An honor to meet you. You got the sword?"

Jase presented it to her.

"Excellent. With this, my position in the Mountain Cloud Boys is no longer in jeopardy, and you've secured yourself an alliance." Jingfei said, putting the sword on the desk. "Now I believe we can contact my father."

Jingfei took to her chair before getting the computer up and the big screen on the side to light up as she got on a video call to which her father came on screen.

"No way, it's Wu Zi Mu." Jase said in surprise.

"Father, I've got some excellent news considering the loss of the sword. It's been safely retrieved." Jingfei remarked, leaving her father to smirk. "But I won't take credit, that belongs to the Nine Tails."

"I've heard of them, but I figured they weren't operating in our neck of the woods." Wu Zi said plainly.

"They're not. One of their highest ranking members was on his honeymoon….and circumstances set them up in everyone's favor. I can confirm that it was the Sindaccos who took the sword, meaning they were behind the ambush that put my brother in the hospital. With your permission I…"

"Say no more. I've put you in charge of things, and that will remain. So I leave you to handle the elimination of the Sindaccos. Especially considering the confirmation of an old Leone hood trying to get the bad back together. Do what you must, my daughter." Wu Zi said before hanging up.

"How long will you two be in town?" Jingfei asked.

"A week at most." Alex said.

"Good, I'm going to need both of you to help me in this endeavor. You'll be paid well, but you'll need a secure spot to-"

"Already have it handled." Jase pointed out.

"As long as it's not a hotel room. To be honest, they'll be looking for you through either bribery for the records or paying a hacker to get them." Jingfei said before getting out some keys, tossing them to Jase. "Here. It's for an apartment in Creek. There's no garage, but the place is a bit fancy for what was medium-end. Keep it for whenever you want to visit LV. There's fifty grand under the bed…you can have it. My way of thanks."

They exchanged numbers before Jingfei let them head out.

A few hours pass…

[Cues: GTA San Andreas OST - Mafia (Salvatore's) Theme]

The Big Spread Ranch. A strip club in that little strip of land between Bone County and Las Venturas that never really had a name for it. Littered with RVs and trailer homes, it was the base for what was left of the Italian mafia…the Sindacco family. Don Agapito Sindacco sat in his seat steaming as he was glaring at his son. The consigliere sat on the side.

"You stupid fuck! How many times I have to tell you that you can cheat the law, but not the IRS?! And how our cash supply is gone!" Agapito said as his son looked unfazed. "Rufino, I swear…"

"Pop, cool it. Look all we have to do is rob the pl-"

"That won't work. We would be the first people the cops would-"

The door opened when one of Rufino's cronies came in.

"Rufino, we got into the place…but the vault…it's cleared out."

Agapito nearly flipped the desk as the advisor had to hold him back.

"Vidone, if you don't let me go." Agapito growled.

"Calm down. Barsimeo was in the auction and was looking into seeking them out." Vidone said, trying to calm him down.

"About what my uncle did." The mook said. "They checked out of their hotel…they're gone."

Agapito roared.

"That was nearly 20 million dollars. Without that money, we're going to lose Caligula's!" Agapito yelled before shoving Barsimeo out of the way to choke Rufino. "Now you listen to me, you useless fuck! I didn't want to have to ask him for help, but I might have to. Not that it'll be your problem anymore. Consider yourself out of my will and disowned. You, Dylan, Barsimeo, and your crew. OUT!"

Agapito threw Rufino to the ground.

"You're going to regret that, pop." Rufino argued before leaving. "Come on Dylan."

The mook followed as Agapito groaned.

"This can't be any worse…"

The Chinese stripper who was listening in begged to differ.

[Music Ends]

The apartment in Creek was rather lavish as promised. The couple was in the midst of changing to clothes for the nightlife. For Jase, it was rather easy to just wear his 'work' outfit. As for Alex, she came out in a black sleeveless side-slit evening gown with gold accents at the bottom, a gold sash held by a blue rope-like belt, blue earrings, gold magnetic hoop earrings, gold bracelets, and one of Jase's long coats. A fancy purse was next to her. Alex was putting on makeup as Jase was talking to Cameron on the phone.

"Lit, we'll be ready." Jase said before hanging up. "Alex, Cameron's coming around with a limo for us. And you look absolutely gorgeous."

Alex put the makeup up as she took up her purse as they left the apartment hand in hand. Getting in the limo, the driver took off. Cameron and Lighting were both in fancy custom suits. The Ground Floor was a small and humble casino with the slickest pool hall in all of Venturas. Cue Ball was lining up a shot with his custom pool cue as Jase and company rolled in.

"Cue Ball, what's good old man?" Lightning said as Cue Ball took the shot, snickering while he did.

"Lightning, Cameron, you've come. Good to see you both, you look well." Cue Ball said. "Who's your friends?"

"Jase and Alex DaWae. Friends." Jase remarked.

"DaWae?" Cue Ball said before taking a good look at Jase. "Yeah, you're definitely Dwight's grandson."

"Who?" Cameron asked.

"My grandfather. I didn't know you knew him." Jase said.

"We went to college together." Cue Ball said. "But I assume this is on business."

They went to the office where Cameron presented a duffel bag of cash.

"That's for The Ground Floor. All the money from all four of us." Cameron said as Cue Ball looked through the bag.

"Do I even want to ask how you got the money?" Cue Ball asked jokingly.

"Stole it from a bunch of pissed off local Italians." Alex remarked. "The same ones who were giving you trouble…and we did it legally." Alex mused.

When Cue Ball asked how and was told, he broke down laughing and got up the paperwork for them to sign. Only to get a call from security that Rufino and a few Italians were here for him.

"Where is he? Where is that old fuck?!" Rufino said angrily.

"Rufino, this isn't a good-"

"Barsimeo, shut up and let me handle this!" Rufino said as Cue Ball came out with the others in tow. "Well, well, I'm sorry to have interrupted Fried Chicken Fridays, but I'm on a schedule. We made you a generous offer."

A platinum-covered AP Pistol was in Rufino's hand.

"Wait, that's them. That's the couple who were at the auction." Barsimeo said, pointing Jase and Alex out.

"Oh great, you lost to a bid to fucking coon." Rufino said before focusing his attention on Jase. "Hand over the abattoir and I promise you and your family won't be hanging from a rope."

Jase was silent as Rufino put the gun in his face..

"Hey, you got cotton in your ears, ya n-"

BLAM! Jase shot first aiming the gun up at his jaw, letting the bullet tear through his head. Rufino fell back as Jase snatched the gun Rufino had, aiming at Dylan. Barsimeo got in the way, pleading for his and Dylan's lives…offering anything for it.

"Ti dico una cosa, dai valore alle tue vite, quindi dopo che mi avrai detto tutto quello che voglio sapere, considera questo il tuo ritiro dal crimine. Capiche?" Jase said as Barsimeo and Dylan told them everything they could offer as information. "E seppellisci questo pezzo di merda mentre te ne vai dalla città."

Satisfied, Jase let them leave with the body.

"Damn son, you handled business." Cue Ball remarked as security got to cleaning up the mess. "Thankfully, it was a slow night with no customers in at the moment. Come on back."

They went back in the office to continue only this time…Cue Ball had new terms wanting to give majority share…to Jase.

"Majority stock. I can't be-"

"Jase, after seeing you handle yourself…I know who I want in majority control. You got the making of a good leader." Cue Ball said with a mirthful look.

"Well, if you think of me so highly, I'll accept." Jase said.

Cameron did not complain given he and Lightning still got a cut. In the end, the deal worked out with Cue Ball on his way out. Now, it was time for the four to celebrate.

~TWG~

Tiffany Maye found little to celebrate. With the money she stole being blood money and fearful of gang reprisal, she initially lived pretty frugally…living out of motels pissing away money on drinks. She had to pay cancellation fees for dropping out of college and fees for suddenly moving out of her old apartment with little notice. She had money, but she found it meaningless…just a reminder of how much of a coward she was. She sat in a Well Stacked Pizza outlet in Rosa Escalante nibbling on the bread of a mostly eaten pizza slice. The door opened.

"Jessie? I got your pizza right here."

"Thank you, baby."

Tiffany turned around to see that it really was her mother. Where Tiffany was short and petite, Jessie was taller and curvy. She was still a knockout, but it was clear she was doing rather well for herself. Guilt wracked her mind watching Jessie leave, and it was what compelled her to go after her. Tiffany did not even know Jessie was living here, but she saw it as a sign. Jessie was putting in the pizza in her orange Pegassi Zentorno as Tiffany called out to her.

"I know you hate me right now…and you have every reason to never want to see me again…but I just wanted to make sure you hear that I'm sorry." Tiffany said, blubbering hot tears. "I…."

Jessie just pulled her into a hug trying not to cry.

"Cutting you off was the hardest thing I ever did. I wanted to just call you." Jessie said. "But what happened to you? How did you even know I was here?"

"I didn't. I came to Venturas to run away…" Tiffany said through sniffles. "I fucked up…I fucked up badly."

"Come on…let's get you out from where you are to my place. You can tell me everything." Jessie said.
