Oryndoll Ceremorphosis Unit #3
Rules and Regulations
1. Entry is limited to authorized personnel whose psionic signature is recognized by the outer doors. Allowing entry to unauthorized individuals may be cause for reassignment (illithids) or termination (thralls). Trespassers themselves will be given to the Creative or Abysmal Creeds and used for science experiments. Refer to Incident Report #34 as an example of the consequences for failure to follow this instruction.
2. Follow the proper dress code. Clean black or dark-colored robes are acceptable. Refrain from wearing long cloaks, elaborate crests, metal decorations, or long/trailing sleeves. They WILL get caught in the pod latches. Lightly-colored garments are also not recommended due to the amount of humanoid blood involved in this process.
3. Arrive on time for your shift and stay until relieved of duty. Be attentive to the pods under your supervision, and promptly report any concerns to your manager.
4. Eating (brains or otherwise) is forbidden in the Ceremorphosis Unit. A "lunch break" is a humanoid concept, which you do not need. Additionally, it may disturb the thralls and early-stage hosts, thus interfering with the harmony of the workplace environment.
5. Do not use mind-altering or psionic-enhancing substances while on duty. You do NOT want to imprint your 'bad trip' on an emerging illithid mind.
6. Only humanoids fitting the Host Selection Criteria are allowed to undergo ceremorphosis. Suitable host species include humans, elves, drow, Githyanki/zerai, grimlocks, appropriately-sized goblinoids, and orcs. Gnomes may be approved on a case-by-case basis. Prospective hosts must weigh between 130-270 lbs and stand between 5'4" and 6'2" in height. Refer to the Health Concern Tip Sheet and Causes of Death During Ceremorphosis for consequences of improper host selection.
7. Do not touch, modify settings of, or otherwise tamper with ceremorphosis pods unless authorized. Studies have shown that unnecessary stress during the first four days of the process increases failure rate by as much as 10%.
8. Ensure that the volume of screaming is kept to a minimum, since the sound may carry into adjacent departments. Contrary to what you may believe, not all illithids (and very few thralls) enjoy hearing this while going about their business.
9. No personal thralls are allowed in the unit - there have been too many cases of them causing distractions or "accidentally" ending up in a pod.
10. Do not take items from the stock room for personal use. These items include, but are not limited to: Clothing, moss, healing or sleep potions, preserved brains, resonance stones, etc.
11. Do not harass or eat the Unit's thrall staff. They are Nourisher Creed property, and any loss or damage will incur a fine of 7 mindgates per thrall.
12. If you see any suspicious activity such as subversive thrall behavior or presence of unauthorized illithids or humanoids, report it to our local branch of the Vigileators. They may be reached at all hours through the colony's telepathic network. Again, refer to Incident Report #34.
13. Report any cases of failed ceremorphosis, including host and/or tadpole death as well as aberrant illithids or ceremorphs resulting from the process, through the proper channels. For an example of a properly-completed form, refer to Incident Report #73.
14. Report any noncompliance, as well as host or thrall welfare concerns, to Videxthrod, Unit Manager, through a private telepathic channel if you wish to remain anonymous. Your concerns will be taken seriously, and you are not at risk for retaliation. If you do NOT wish to remain anonymous, relay your concerns to Qrr'Dekvin, the Assistant Creedmaster.
