Capt. Thunder and Thunderlord were empowered, Shazam and Black Marvel Family style by the Lords of Chaos. Capt. Thunder was the more powerful of the two since she was the original avatar of their power. Thunderlord had petitioned them after seeing Capt. Thunder in action and lustfully wanting to partner with her. While he craved permanent partnership, she viewed him as a super stamina sex toy. Captain Marvel had fulfilled many fantasies for her before the Enchantress reversed her curse and his super sized constant erection and libido went flacid and he lost all sexual vigor.

She'd tried to kill him for that but Captain Marvel manged to escape her wrath. But she'd never forgiven him. Thunderlord's slavish devotion made up for it. The Chaos magic that empowered them both inflamed their emotions and desires. For Capt. Thunder it meant a constant drive for sexual satisfaction and dominance. For Thunderlord, it was an obsession with Capt. Thunder.

The pair stood together against a single foe. Capt. Thunder thought the Secret Society was futzing with them both, "Just you? That's all they could spare?"

"I only need me," Commando Ranger told them. It was obvious to him they didn't know about his gen factor. He had the ability to adapt to defeat any multitude of foes. But his power didn't register against a single combatant. So Commando Ranger had been selected to strike out against the Thunders.

"Let's fry him," Capt. Thunder was bored already. She and Thunderlord shared the Shazam and Black Marvel strengths and weaknesses. They streamed lightning at Commando Ranger. He absorbed it all and when they realized they were having no effect, he contained their combined output. So he returned to them.

Capt. Thunder and Thunderlord were both severely jolted by their own power. Thunderlord got off his knees as Capt. Thunder straightened up after doubling over, "Now we'll just crush you."

"Really?" Commando Ranger was amused by her threat. Their emotional volatility amplified by the Chaos magic, the Thunders were each consumed by rage and charged at him at super speed. Each threw a punch at him. Commando Ranger caught both of their fists and nearly crushed them. Then, using their ability to fly, levitated as he kicked each of them in the stomach. Releasing their broken hands, he delivered a backspin kick that caught both Capt. Thunder and Thunderlord in the head. While they groveled before him, he kicked one then the other in the ribs, breaking several.

The Thunders had never taken such a beating since their empowerment. They could be healed if they summoned the Chaos lightning. But that would also revert them to mere mortals until they could repeat the summoning word and be transformed once again. They didn't know that would also de-power Commando Ranger. But he was a trained fighter and could easily take their mortal versions out of the picture before they could speak again.

Commando Ranger was enjoying the rush of power he got from his proximity to the Thunders. His body adapted to give him twice their power. Twice their combined power. It made him a Majestic-class or Shazam-class human. He could only wish a member of the Shazam Family or Superman himself were present as well so he could thrash them. It would be an ecstatic dream come true.

The Thunders were essentially your typical Chaos avatar bullies. He was beginning to admire their persistence though. They kept getting back up despite the punishment he was doling out. They really had no idea that just one of them had to escape to render him powerless, leaving the remainder to beat him to a pulp. But they had it ingrained that they were stronger together so together they remained.

He used their super speed, actually even faster, to deliver his even stronger blows to knock them both senseless and break a few more bones while he was at it. He decided to stay close to them because even beaten unconscious, they empowered him. He wanted to be ready for any potential double cross whichever Titan arrived might pursue.

Andrea Bryant dyed her hair purple and wore a purple jacket and pants over the electric framework that gave her powers. Capt. Future was the Injustice Society's version of Capt. Flash. Her framework worked on the same principles but was primarily geared towards energy projection. Strength enhancements were a secondary byproduct of her muscular stimulation. Capt. Future didn't recognize most of the Secret Society squad sent against her just as they didn't remember her stint as a superhero.

Black Puma moved with a cat-like grace. She'd be trouble it seemed. Black Lion was an overachieving gangbanger. Black Venus exuded confidence so Capt. Future kept an extra eye on her. City Girl was a biker gang enforcer with delusions of grandeur. Crawler's exo-suit allowed him to scale walls and adhere to any surface. He took the high ground right away. Crystal Queen was a mythical demigoddess in appearance but the truth was far closer to home. Crazy Quilt was the only known factor of the group.

Black Puma and Black Lion attacked together. Capt. Future streamed electricity into them for their troubles. Smoke curled off of their downed bodies. City Girl was more cautious now as she attempted get behind Capt. Future. Black Venus strode forward towards her. Capt. Future discharged in every direction at once. City Girl went down immediately but Black Venus was made of sterner stuff. She'd almost reached Capt. Future before she succumbed to the pain.

Crystal Queen, Crazy Quilt, and Crawler had all been out of range. Crazy Quilt went on a frenetic attack. Capt. Future's systems were recharging but her strength augmentation didn't require as much raw power. She handedly deflected Crazy Quilt's raining blows. Then she delivered a single punch that counted. Crazy Quilt was unconscious. Crystal Queen and Crawler repositioned. He took her flank from three stories up. Capt. Future worried about what he might be able to do from that distance. She had no means of striking out at him. Hopefully she could defend herself from whatever he intended to do

That's when Capt. Future realized she'd lost track of Crystal Queen. She quickly snapped her head around to find the beauty standing beside her, smiling victoriously, "Too little, too late."

Crystals grew all over Capt. Future's body and all around her until only her head wasn't encased in crystals. Crystal Queen gloated, "Never take your eyes off of your opponent."

Crawler descended, "We make a good team."

"As long as you keep your place," Crystal Queen sniffed.

"Royals. What a pain in the ass," Crawler grumbled as Crystal Queen strolled away to find a seat worthy fo her. Capt. Future realized she wasn't going anywhere soon.

Blue Trinity and Red Trinity had left Russia as fugitives after killing the science team that had attempted to recreate the process that had created the original three member Red Trinity and equally numbered Blue Trinity. Separate processes had been utilized for both teams. Col. Ivanka Christina Borodin Molotova was the last surviving member of either team. Lady Flash had been ordered to kill the others after two members of Blue Trinity went sociopathic and Red Trinity had fled Russia. Lady Flash had spent time in the United States before returning to Moscow to join the New People's Heroes.

Red Trinity and Blue Trinity were each the sole survivors of their trios. They kept the team names since they were subpar speedsters to a Speed Force imbued speedster. They were also in their late teens. Goldilocks' offer of asylum from pursuit from the New People's Heroes had appealed to the pair. Red Trinity kept her theme by dying her raven hair red and wearing a red leather jacket and red leather pants with a simple friction treated white tee shirt. Blue Trinity dyed her hair blue and wore blue variants of Red Trinity's garb.

They faced the speedster duo of Express-Man and Express. Max Murphy was older than he appeared but he still looked like an older man. The alchemy he used to gain super speed had been improved upon by his grandson, Mark Murphy. Express had convinced the retired Express-Man to come out and join him in the Secret Society for the action and the cash opportunities. Like the Trinities, they were slower than a Speed Force speedster. They were also more easily fatigued by employing their speed and susceptible to friction burns on their skin from using it.

Tigerwoman was a were-tiger that could control her transformation at will like the Hyena had learned to. Dr. Riddle led the team. The Trinities saw her in her purple business suit and fedora to match her violet eyes behind spectacles and dismissed her. But she was the brains behind the squad. Her power, like her friend Dr. Mystery, was to bend the mind. Dr. Riddle created confusion within a person's psyche. They became so befuddled they no longer knew who was friend or foe or why they were present in the first place. Given time, they would even confuse who they were.

Express-Man and Express directly challenged the Trinities by bursting into super speed attacks. Express took the lead even though Express-Man was more experienced. Express was faster, not due to his youth but rather than changes he's made to the formula his grandfather had perfected. But in exchange for increased speed, he had lower stamina.

Red Trinity met Express' challenge head first. They fought racing up and down the street, exchanging hyper-velocity blows. It became apparent to Red Trinity that she had the superior training and she was wearing Express down. So she pushed him even harder. Express struggled and strove match her final burst of speed but he slowed to a stop, winded and doubled over to catch his breath. Red Trinity stopped to face him. He looked uup at her and she saw his recognition that he was about to lose the battle. She spent sixty seconds on him but rained hundreds of blows upon him in that time. He went down and wasn't getting back up.

Express-Man was more cautious until he saw Express' defeat, then he began to rush to blindside Red Trinity but Blue Trinity butted into him at high velocity, sending him careening into a wall. Blue Trinity pressed the assault despite Express-Man's advanced age. She and Red Trinity had been taught since birth to exclude no one from their fight. Express-Man, despite his vaster experience over Express, couldn't compete with either Blue Trinity's speed nor her training. Combined with her ruthlessness, he also fell victim to them.

Red and Blue Trinity met again to face down Tigerwoman and Dr. Riddle. They brimmed with overconfidence that Dr. Riddle would enjoy humbling. She unleashed her power upon them. In their state of confusion, they turned against one another but backed off when neither could an advantage. In the next stage, they forget they had powers or even who they were and why they were in Superior City instead of Volgograd.

Tigerwoman unashamedly stripped naked and transformed into a were-tiger. Her strength and cat-like reflexes overpowered the duo, even though befuddled, they retained heightened reflexes. But they couldn't defend themselves against her superior strength and savagery. Tigerwoman had enough humanity left in her to know that she shouldn't kill her targets. So she backed away with a triumphant roar.

She paced around the fallen speedsters, waiting to see if they roused. Dr. Riddle released the Trinities from her power now that they were unconscious. She met Tigerwoman, "Good job. They'll be prepared for the Titans when they arrive. Keep an eye on them though. They may recuperate quickly. So be prepared to strike."

Tigerwoman roared her agreement.

Crimson Canary was used to fighting beside Supra Woman, Pink Pigeon, and Lady Wonder. They'd entered the Everyman Project together and worked as a team until they paid off their debt to LuthorCorp. Goldilocks intercepted them on their way to Bailya to work for Mars Corp securing the country for LuthorCorp's interests and Mars Corp's security concerns in the joint venture of ruling the Caspian Sea bordering country. She'd convinced them to join the Injustice Society as it began its Superior City contract.

Supra Woman and Lady Wonder had turned out to both be that rarity of rarities. They possessed the Majestic-class meta-gene. They were almost as powerful as Superman once their gen factor was activated. Pink Pigeon and Crimson Canary's gifts seemed to pale in comparison. Crimson Canary had superhuman reflexes and senses. She could admit a sonic song that could crack armor plating but she could only sing for a few seconds. So she would never rival Black Canary or Silver Swan.

But Crimson Canary was as capable a fighter as Dinah Lance. Which would help even the odds since she faced four foes. Fantom and Fantotrix appeared to be human silhouettes with red capes but they were gifted fighters and were durable beyond normal human capacity. Cage Girl was a professional MMA fighter who moonlit with the Secret Society between bouts. Cobra Woman was an exile from Kobra Kult banished because she'd failed in an assassination attempt to kill Secretary Bones.

Crimson Canary knew that Libra and Major Disaster had chosen this squad especially to face her in particular. She was ready for them. It had been some time since she'd gone solo into a fight but her usual cohort was spread thin throughout the city. So she'd go it alone. Each of her opponents was particularly dangerous in different ways. So it was good that she'd studied the files provided on them.

Cage Girl predictably engaged Crimson Canary first. The prize fighter began with traditional boxing techniques before switching to Thai kickboxing. She threw some savate into it as well before adding judo in an attempt to subdue Crimson Canary. But Crimson Canary's enhanced reflexes and hypervigilant situational awareness kept her abreast of every move Cage Girl was making even as Fantom and Fantotrix set themselves up behind her for an ambush.

Cage Girl engaged a kick while Fantom rushed Crimson Canary from behind. She ducked away from the kick and shifted to her right allowing Cage Girl's kick to connect with Fantom's head. Crimson Canary came up from her squat with a palm strike underneath Fantotrix's chin. That threw her off balance and Crimson Canary used a leg sweep to take Fantotrix to the pavement.

Fantom was recovering but still distracted by his anger over Cage Girl's blow. Crimson Canary used his distraction to deliver two left jabs to his face before dropping to one knee and connecting a piston punch to his groin. Crimson Canary came up from the crouch to block Cage Girl's downward driven right cross and deliver a side stomp to Cage Girl's knee. A nasty cracking sound told her she'd delivered the blow that would take Cage girl out of the fight.

A pointed toe kick to the underside of Fantom's testicles had him retching inside his face mask. Fantotrix came at Crimson Canary with a perfectly executed flying kick, Only she wasn't there to receive it. Instead, Crimson Canary rolled along Fantotrix's path to slap both of Fantotrix's masked ears, rupturing the ear drums. Rounding the masked woman, Crimson Canary meet her doubled over face with a knee strike and then an elbow strike to the back of her neck. Fantotrix was finished. That left Cobra Woman the last woman standing.

The former assassin looked impassive in her snake headdress. She assumed a ready stance from a martial art Crimson Canary wasn't familiar with. But the Kobra Kult went back thousands of years and maintained martial traditions that had been forgotten by the world before Alexander marched on Persia. Crimson Canary approached with extreme caution. This would be the fight for her life.

Cobra Woman smiled, revealing that like many Kobra Kult clergy she'd filed her canine teeth into fangs. It was unnerving but Crimson Canary knew that was the point of the revelation. Cobra Woman began to circle in a manner that was partly dance and partly fighting stances. Crimson Canary saw the rhythm in the movements and knew they building to crescendo. Cobra Woman was searching for a weakness to appear in Crimson Canary's defensive posture. So she gave her one.

Cobra Woman struck as fast as the snake she derived her name from. Crimson Canary, having baited the attack, was still caught by surprise by the technique behind it. It was fluid-like dance movement rather than a solid fighting strike. Cobra Woman never wavered. She flowed from one attack to another, constantly probing Crimson Canary's outer, and eventually, inner rings of defense. The tempo driving Cobra Woman's deadly dance increased and Crimson Canary began to wonder if her foe was a meta-human as well. Her stamina easily surpassed Iron Man contestants'.

Cobra Woman never paused and never hesitated. She controlled the fight, setting its pace and boundaries. Crimson Canary was taking blows the others had never actually been able to land. Cobra Woman was outperforming Crimson Canary's ability to gauge her opponent's intentions. Cobra Woman successfully feinted one movement while delivering an entirely unexpected strike. Her victim was taking damage she couldn't afford to in this struggle.

Still, Cobra Woman relentlessly quickened the pace of her attacks. Crimson Canary was slowing and her response lag was severely costing her now. And the more blows she absorbed, the slower she got. Finally, she reached a point where her arms just hung beside her and she helpless before her antagonist. Cobra Woman halted and bowed before her foe. Then she delivered a strike Crimson Canary never saw coming. When she eventually awoke, she still wondered how Cobra Woman knocked her out.

The green haired Lady Wonder derisively assessed her opposition. Since her gen factor activation had made her a Majestic-class human like Bronski, the original Majestic from Team 7, she'd faced little real opposition. But even Bronski had been killed and a new Majestic appointed. Lady Wonder had also never faced Superman or a Shazam or Black Marvel. She'd also never faced Queen Diana or Donna Troy as a Wonder Woman.

Wonderman had the ability to adopt any Majestic-class ability at any given time. He'd effectively held back Majestros, the new Majestic, long enough for his fellow Secret Society members to escape the Secret Six. Shock Gibson wore an exo suit that gave him the same powers as Lightning Girl or Blue Bolt. Atomic Man was a "failed" attempt to create a third Captain Atom or a second Major Force. But he shared many of the powers of the original Captain Atom. He'd went AWOL from the military when they sought to imprison him rather than employ him as a super soldier. From there he migrated to the Secret Society.

Shock Gibson led the attack with twin electrical "lightning" streams that Lady Wonder waded through to reach him. Wonderman intervened at that point and punched Lady Wonder back.

She wiped her lip and blew a green lock of hair out of her face, "Nice punch. Can you take one?"

She flew at him at super speed and delivered a right cross. Wonderman had enough time to transfer his ultra energy to invulnerability and skidded dozens of feet away but remained standing. Lady Wonder was forced to be impressed. Still, she ripped Shock Gibson's battery pack off while she had the opportunity. His armor was immobilized and he was almost trapped inside. The reserve battery had enough power to unseal the armor and allow him to evacuate it. Leaving him a norm facing Lady Wonder.

Wonderman ran at super speed at Lady Wonder and switched his ultra energy to strength before he landed the blow against her. Again, it staggered her back. Lady Wonder replied with a series of knee and elbow strikes that Wonderman absorbed. His invulnerability partially shielding him. But her raw power meant she could still inflict harm. As she paused her assault to examine her success, he switched to strength and caught her by surprise with a left cross. Then he changed his energy over to ultra healing.

He was almost completely healed when he barely had time to become super durable again under a new wave of attacks. Lady Wonder had begun to deduce the nature of his power. If she could press the attack until he was beaten unconscious, he wouldn't be able to strike back or heal himself. But a quantum blast from Atomic Man sent her reeling.

"You good?" Atomic Man asked Wonderman.

"I will be," Wonderman began healing before Atomic Man's eyes. While Lady Wonder had been distracted, Shock Gibson reattached the battery pack to his armor and remounted inside it.

"Together this time?" he asked.

"Follow my lead," Atomic Man told them. His quantum blasts hammered away at Lady Wonder, immobilizing her. Shock Gibson added his own electrical streams to the onslaught. Wonderman awaited his turn. Just as Lady Wonder possessed Kryptonian strength, speed, durability, and flight, she lacked a Kryptonian or Daxamite's esoteric vi8sion and sensory powers. Wonderman shared her array of powers and limitations. He had even greater limitations since he could only employ one ability at a time.

Lady Wonder was driven to her knees and was reeling when Atomic Man and Shock Gibson relented. Atomic Man looked over to Wonderman, "The coup de grace is yours. But hurry."

Wonderman used super speed to reach Lady Wonder. Then he used his super strength to hold her head down as he applied knee strike after knee strike to her face. She went slack but he kept hammering away. Atomic Man intervened on her behalf.

"She's finished already. You can stop now," he instructed but Wonderman hit her one last time anyway. Then he let Lady Wonder fall face first into the blacktop of the cleared street.

"Now what?" Shock Gibson asked.

"Our contract was to subdue her and hold her until the Titans sent a specialist to kill her," Atomic Man was annoyed that the other man seemed to have slept through the briefing.

"We could kill her now," Wonderman growled.

"That'd be a long, slow process. The Titans came prepared. Our employer insisted that Deathstroke's group be the executioners," Atomic Man restrained Wonderman's inflamed sensibilities.

"So we'll wait," Shock Gibson agreed.

"And of she wakes before they arrive, we knock her senseless again," Atomic Man appeased Wonderman.

"Good," the man grated.

Lady Lunatic was the least predictable Injusticer. She had the psychotic verve of the deceased Joker and the creative streak of a Harley Quinn. She faced three Secret Society members chosen to contain her wildest impulses. Funnyman was a failed comedian who'd found moderate success as a costumed criminal before being recruited. Queen Marie was a gunslinger from New Orleans. Spider Woman had a natural version of Crawler's ability to adhere ot surfaces. She was also the only one of the three trained in unarmed combat.

Funnyman stood back while Queen Marie opened fire. Spider Woman scaled a nearby wall and traversed the distance between buildings to flank Lady Lunatic. Lady Lunatic was struck by several bullets as Queen Marie emptied her revolvers. Funnyman went to check on her after she'd fallen. A leg sweep knocked him over. Lady Lunatic rolled atop him and beat him senseless while Queen Marie reloaded.

Queen Marie reopened firing at Lady Lunatic. This time, the wounded woman stomped her way towards the shooter. She finally reached Queen Marie as the Cajun reached her last bullet in each revolver. Lady Lunatic placed her hands over the barrels. Queen Marie shrugged and fired anyway.

Lady Lunatic recoiled and held her hands up so Queen Marie could watch them heal. Spider Woman came crashing down on Lady Lunatic at that point. Using a variant of Spider Queen's web gun, she roped up Lady Lunatic. She got off of the struggling Injusticer.

"You couldn't have stopped her," Spider Woman told her, "But you can check on Funnyman."

While Cajun gunslinger made certain her teammate wasn't seriously injured, Spider Woman laid down some extra web bindings, "Language, m'dear."

Lady Lunatic continued creatively cursing.

Pink Pigeon shared many of Crimson Canary's gifts. Except, she was more agile and quicker. She also lacked her sonic ability that Crimson Canary rarely used. Pink Pigeon had a limited flight talent that was basically a launch and a controlled fall. She dyed her short hair pink and wore pink and white garb. She felt her imaging was spot on. Yet people still had no idea of who she was most of the time.

Like Crimson Canary and Lady wonder, she was used to working with them and Supra Woman. So this solo assignment was uncomfortable territory for Pink Pigeon. She had two teams and an individual arrayed against her. The First Family of Crime, or so they called themselves, was composed of a family of subculture adherents. The sisters, Cheroot and Upsweep, were punk warriors. Their brother, Cigarello, was western outlaw themed. The patriarch, Stogie, was an Al Capone fetishist. All were chain smokers even while they fought.

The Crime Syndicate was comprised of three meta-humans. The Murder Prophet received violent prophetic visions that might be fantasy but he insured they happened. The Weeper was a double jointed hand to hand fighter. Black Rat was well named as a synthesis between human and rodent.

Finally, Tomas Payne was a Two-Face admirer that recreated the acid burn to his face that Harvey Dent endured and revealed his dominant second psyche. The Judge would also lie mostly dormant. Half-Face had no other personalities lurking within him. He was strictly a sociopath with a scarring fetish. His advantage was using VENOM enhanced with Fear Toxin to achieve superhuman strength and reflexes alongside an anti-fear side effect.

Pink Pigeon avoided the combined gunfire from the First Family and beat them all senseless since they were powerless against her own gen factor. Murder Prophet called out what she intended to do next and guided the Weeper and Black Rat against her. But she slowly began to move faster than Murder Prophet could predict aloud and beat the two Crime Syndicate foes. Murder Prophet ranted in rage about her coming downfall but Pink Pigeon ignored him as she knocked him out with a single punch.

"Big mouth, glass jaw," she assessed over his fallen, robed form.

"He was calling out what I'm going to do to you," Half-Face loomed over her.

"Crap," Pink Pigeon knew it suddenly got challenging. Sometime between her general assessment of the opposition and her current state, Half-Face had dosed. He was twice the man he'd been before. He had a slight Spanish accent from learning both his adoptive father's English in ESL classes as a youth after his mother came to the United States from Venezuela. The same constituency that Jackson Mason had drawn to Olivia McKay's presidential ticket had demanded tighter border controls and a surge of asylum seekers had resulted in a public outcry that had the southern border closed to legal migration. Those migrants and their children that had come before that were viewed with hostility and outright racist hatred.

Half-Face's mother's asylum hearing had finally taken place fifteen years after her arrival in the States and she'd been deported. Half-Face himself had been declared illegal and ordered to be deported in absentia. VENOM radically amplified Half-Face's rage. The reversed effect of the Fear Toxin erased his inhibitions to act upon that rage's darkest impulses. Half-Face knew he was instructed to deliver Pink Pigeon alive but he saw her as another privileged white woman and wanted her dead.

Half-Face brought his fists above his head and crouched as he brought them down. Pink Pigeon eluded the blow that shattered the blacktop...but just barely. She manged to stay a step ahead of his punches and crude kicks that chunked out buildings and smashed vehicles. Pink Pigeon launched herself atop of a low-rise building. Half-Face punctured finger and toe holds into the concrete surface of the walls and climbed towards her. Springing off of the rooftop, she landed feet first into his face, unbalancing him and she rode his face into the sidewalk below, which cracked the concrete there. She rolled off of him and did a hand spring back onto her feet. She'd thought that would end the fight. But she was startled when Half-Face grabbed her ankle and his grip nearly crushed the bones.

He threw her side to side of himself against the sidewalk. She was barely conscious when he released her and got to his own feet. He pressed against her diaphragm with his foot, making her unable to breathe until she passed out. He still considered finishing her off himself but the VENOM/Fear Toxin dose was wearing off and he was thinking more clearly. The Light wanted her alive for a Titan to deal with so he'd keep her alive. But he knocked over a lamppost to pin her to the sidewalk. So she wouldn't be going anywhere if she awoke.

Safari had ambitions since she was a young girl to be the greatets hunter of her tribal group in Africa. Her skills grew and she began leading safari hunts for rich would-be trophy hunters. But her skills vastly surpassed her clients'. So her business began to fail. The Great One, as Intergang Director for middle Asia and Africa heard of her and approached her to equip her with technologically advanced variants of her traditional hunting gear as well as modern firearms. His goal to make her a personal enforcer. But she defected from Intergang and joined the Injustice Society at Goldilocks' behest.

She thought it an insult at first that the Secret Society only pitted three of their members against but then she recognized them all. Angle Man was a veteran super villain and a long standing Secret Society member since Grodd reformed the organization. Summer Day was a were-hyena and was an infamous killer as the Hyena. But Fantomah was an African demigoddess. Her naturally blonde afro distinguishing her from mere mortals. Fantomah was revered as a warrior-goddess in central Africa. Her skills and reputation as great as Safari's own.

Angle Man used his angle iron to reach through it and form a portal to reach beside Safari's head and reach his fist through it to try and punch her. But she caught him by the wrist and held him firm. He struggled mightily to both break free and maintain the portal finally, he failed at both. The pain as his arm was rejected by the closing portal shocked him into unconsciousness but fortunately for him it also broke Safari's grip. So he kept his arm intact.

Hyena transformed after disrobing and Safari prepared one of her shock spears and warded off Hyena at first but saw that the were-beast was too dangerous to leave awake. So she outmaneuvered the Hyena and thrust the stunner tip of the electro-spear into the Hyena's flank and jolted her unconscious. Fortunately for her, she didn't revert back to being Summer Day. Leaving a naked woman unprotected on the streets even in Superior City was recipe for rape and murder.

Fantomah moved quicker than any human was entitled to. Her strength was also augmented by her demon blood. She proved immune to Safari's electro-spear so she resorted to a traditional high bore pistol. Putting .50 caliber bullets into Fantomah slowed her but didn't seriously harm her. Safari knew then she would lose the battle if Fantomah got her hands on her. She began a retreat while reloading and firing again to slow Fantomah. But the demigoddess knew it as well and pressed her attack with even greater fervor.

For all Safari's hunting prowess with a knife, even her chainsaw bladed hunting knife merely cut Fantomah without biting deep into her flesh. Fantomah swatted Safari aside like a bug. The huntress bounced off a building across the street and crumpled on the ground. She'd barely begun to rouse when Fantomah ended the fight with a clean punch to Safari's head. The huntress slumped after that.

The warrior pitied the huntress. Fantomah hated to deliver up a fellow African legend. But the tribes that worshiped her desperately needed the cash this jaunt would earn her. And her faithful relied on Fantomah to provide basic necessities when the crops failed, the water ran dry, or the prey eluded them. So stood vigil over Safari while also awaiting Hyena and Angle Man's recoveries.

Supra Woman was the second Majestic-class graduate of the Everyman Project to pay off her debt to LuthorCorp and go independent under that name. The first Supra Woman had been killed in a battle against the Black Marvels. The new Black Supra Woman had quickly integrated into the team. She was proud to bring color to the otherwise white team.

She also faced three foes. Mighty Mite bore an impressive physique and stature with blue toned skin. One wouldn't know looking at him that in reality he was a slight thirteen-old boy who could transform himself into Mighty Mite. His fifteen-year old girlfriend used sex to control him and had him join the Secret Society so that the crimes he committed with them could provide her with the fineries she felt entitled to. Mike wouldn't turn her down on any matter because his hormonally driven brain was obsessed with obtaining her sexual favors. And she made him pay to play.

Typhoon also had blue skin. But his gen factor was water based. He could create and control typhoon water spouts. This close to the Columbia River and Pacific Ocean, he was well armed and prepared to nearly drown the oxygen dependent Supra Woman.

Cadet Atom was the other "failed" candidate to update and replace the second Captain Atom and Major Force. His powers were even weaker that Atomic Man's but the Army failed him out of West Point and took him prisoner. They'd estimated both his and Atomic Man's true scope of power and they managed to break out of Leavenworth. They'd joined the Secret Society together.

Mighty Mite engaged Supra Woman in a fist fight that included them both flying and smashing the other into the pavement below. They seemed evenly matched and equally untrained. But it became a matter of endurance. Mighty Mite couldn't hold his super form for so long. The more he expended his strength, the shorter the period. He soon reached his limit and reverted back to the diminuitive Mike.

Supra Woman snorted in derision, "I've been fighting a kid?"

a flick of her finger knocked the teen out. Cadet Atom unleashed quantum blasts on her. She was staggered at first but angrily waded through them to reach him. A snap of her wrist knocked Cadet Atom out. With her costume still smoking, she turned to face Typhoon.

"Are you another futzing teenager?" she demanded to know.

"No," Typhoon said. While she'd battled Cadet Atom, Typhoon and been swirling the waters of the Columbia and now the water spout descended upon Supra Woman. He controlled it so that no matter how and where she tried to fly to escape it, it shifted position with her. Denied air to breathe, Supra Woman eventually asphyxiated and passed out. The water cascading diown upon her but the drenched Supra Woman could at least breathe again.

"And that's how it's done," Typhoon gloated.

Elizabeta Eiling was many things, but being stupid wasn't one of them. The General knew Ultaman and Dr. Hyde, joined by Flor, had been hand selected to face her. Ultaman was another rejected super soldier candidate for the position the Commander won and betrayed when he led the Americans from US service to joining the Fourth Reich. The bleached blonde, bespectacled Dr. Hyde swigged her potion and transformed into the brunette powerhouse known as Ms. Jekyl. It was apparent from Flor's clothing motif that flora was her thing.

Dr. Jekyl and Ultaman attacked together. The General, who was stronger individually, was hard pressed by the duo. She had to separate them in order to beat them. Then Flor got involved and a local florist shop provided the pollens that Flor mutated and threw against the General. But what would have sedated a norm merely irritated the serum driven General.

Ms. Jekyl and Ultaman resumed the fight. It was obvious that they'd rehearsed this beforehand. It was also obvious the lustful passions of Ms. Jekyl were inflamed by Ultaman. The General tried exploiting Ms. Jekyl's feral nature by concentrating her attacks on Ultaman. But the frenzy she'd anticipated and provoked didn't break the rhythm. The General was slowly beaten unconscious over the course of many blows.

"Watch her!" Ms. Jekyl demanded as she drug the Black man into an alley for victory sex. Flor sighed and wondered why she didn't get assigned a potential sex partner.

The Dummy was a rarity amongst those of his height. He was so small, it would seem he was afflicted with dwarfism. But he didn't have any of the typical bodily distortions one would expect. He just appeared to be a mannequin brought to life. So that's the motif the Dummy chose when he decided to up his game and become the foe of a costumed hero. That hero was now a super villain and the Dummy had been a rare male recruit to the Injustice Society under Goldilocks' watch.

It was apparent that the leaders of the Secret Society considered the Dummy to be a major threat. They'd assigned the knife wielding Zora, Jaguar Man and his pet jaguar named Ebony, the economic terrorist called Face, and La Tigre, an arch nemesis to El Zorro to him. Jaguar relied on the trained Ebony to perpetrate crimes. Zora, La Tigre, and Face all used traditional weapons. The Dummy himself carried an assault rifle that seemed sadly outsized for him. But he opened fire before the others could.

Ebony was signaled to attack. The Dummy hated putting a round into the cat's flank but that neutralized her threat. Jaguar Man risked being shot to ferry his pet to safety. The Dummy respected that and let him go. Zora was too far off to throw a knife at him. He knew she was an expert marksman with a blade so he had to keep her at a distance. Unlike any of the others, she wore body armor.

Jaguar Man wore a cat mask and a business suit. La Tigre wore a garish tiger themed costume. The face wore a black miniskirted business suit with thigh high leather boots and carried an assault rifled and plenty of ammo. Her raven hair matched her black surgical mask and suit. She and La Tigre tried pinning him under cover while Zora advanced. The Dummy managed to put two rounds into Zora's breastplate but that merely knocked her over and slowed her down while Face and La Tigre took turns shooting at him. Unexpectedly, the aggrieved Jaguar Man opened fire with a pistol as well, cutting off the Dummy's ability to track Zora's movements.

He knew was finished when Zora rounded the car he was hidden behind and stabbed him in his gun arm. Then she slashed across his other arm before stabbing his leg. She hit and kicked each wound to further aggravate them. The Dummy went down in a scream of pain. She kicked his rifle away from him and knelt upon his chest and placed her knife's blade across his throat.

"You're lucky the Titans seem to want you so badly. Otherwise I'd end this now," Zora warned him. She let the overwrought Jaguar Man beat him senseless. Then he returned to tending Ebony's stabilized wound while Zora, La Tigre, and Face guarded against the Dummy's potential but unlikely escape.

Barbara "Barbie" Dahl had taken up her mother's legacy name of Baby Doll even though Marian Dahl was still active in Gotham City with the repulsive Killer Croic she'd fallen madly in love with. After years of rejection and neglect, Waylan Jones had finally come to love Baby Doll in return. The newest Baby Doll sought to redeem the name.

Barbie was afflicted by the same stature robbing disease her mother suffered from. Barbie had been born and partially raised while her mother lived off of her residuals payments and worked as a night manager at seedy hotel before she returned to life as a criminal. Barbie was a teenager then and placed in foster care. She'd run away and made it to the west coast before she decided to follow in her mother's footsteps. Goldilocks sought to make Barbie's dreams come true.

Baby Doll had become a weapons and demolition expert. Her unexpected partnership with Dollhouse in this outing was a pleasant surprise. Matilda Mathis was the Dollmaker's daughter. He'd experimented with different techniques upon her while raising her. Dollhouse had perfected his attempts to graft limbs and even heads and spinal cords to different bodies. She had a freighter in international waters where she catered to rich clients and provided organ, limb and even body transfers. Her prices were astronomical but her results were untraceable by most legal means.

Dollhouse typically served the Injustice Society as staff medic and surgeon as well as keeping the homeless population in Superior City winnowed to a barely noticed victimized minority. Her activities were known to federal authorities but no international body wanted to interfere. Too many influential people from influential countries owed services to Dollhouse. So she was politically protected.

Cyanide Cindy wore a full body environmental suit to protect her from her poisonous sprays. He-She randomly shifted from male ot female and back again so one never knew quite who they would facing at any given moment. Jetgirl relied upon a flight pack with wings that were armed with wing rockets to fight with.

Baby Doll took aim at Jetgirl and fired her sole antiaircraft missile at her. It was an outdated disposable weapon and required the aircraft to pass by to present its engines so the missile could track its heat signature. Jetgirl realized that after her strafing run that she couldn't outrun the missile so she flew low over a building and released her harness to fall free from the jet pack gear. Between the explosion and the fall, Jetgirl was knocked out.

He-She was a woman when she attacked Dollhouse. The surgeon fought using scalpels. She nearly killed He-She by the time she became male. But using his last vestiges of strength, he knocked Dollhouse out with a hammering right cross. Baby Doll shot him for his trouble. He fell bleeding to the ground as a woman again.

Cyanide Cindy startled Baby Doll with her unexpected proximity. Her echoing voice was muffled by her helmet, "You should've saved that bullet for me."

Cyanide Cindy sprayed Baby Doll in the face with her spray wand. The poison was specially mixed for this endeavor. It wasn't lethal but Baby Doll would wish she was dead as she suffered from its effects. Cyanide Cindy sprayed the rousing Dollhouse as well. Her reputation proceeded her in criminal circles and Cyanide Cindy thought Dollhouse's suffering would be a form of penance. If the the Light chose to let her live on. The Secret Society wasn't briefed on the Titans' orders per Injusticer. They'd merely been hired to detain them.

Goldilocks, having defeated Libra at the outset, found herself facing newly appointed secondary foes. Keyhole had the ability to create portals in the same, but lesser, manner as a Jenny. Owl and Owlgirl were former superheroes who could fly and wore red and white owl themed costumes. Purple Tigress was an accomplished hand to hand combatant. The Scarlet Baroness was a teleporter and renowned thief. Her participation with the Secret Society's mission came as a surprise from a former rival.

Goldilocks wasted no time just as she hadn't with Libra. She inititiated the attack. Her hair wrapped around Keyhole's throat and choked out the magenta haired Indian woman. Dropping Keyhole, other braids had snared Owl and Owlgirl as they took flight. She batted them against buildings until their reinforced windows shattered. Then she drew the pair down to the street and beat them off of the pavement until she was satisfied they were out cold. Purple Tigress was also captured early on and her head was butted against a pickup truck until it's hood was caved in and the combatant couldn't threaten Goldilocks. Only the Scarlet Baroness was spared as a professional courtesy.

"Wow! You're not that kid I knew anymore," Scarlet Baroness admitted warily, "You know I can just teleport out of here."

"That's why I spared you. You can go. Just leave and say you escaped from me when I overpowered everyone else," Goldilocks offered, "You're not a fighter. You're a thief, pure and simple."

"You used to be as well. But you've changed," Scarlet Baroness said appreciatively.

"Life changed me. Now scoot," Goldilocks ordered. The other older woman teleported as far as she could and then made several hops until she reached Portland, Oregon. Goldilocks activated her beacon. Any Injusticers capable of movement would receive the signal and trace it back to her. She went on the move for the expected rendezvous. She wanted to pay a visit to Intergang. Cowgirl and Cyber Witch had spotted the Jennies' arrival with Johnny Everywhere. Goldilocks felt they had a stake in this fight as well. So she went about recruiting them.

The Secret Society paid a visit to the Injustice Society's headquarters on the artificial island. The Injusticers had come out of hiding and were at their usual stations. Cowgirl was outside of her VR rig since the attack had ended. She and Cyber Witch were tracking the team's progress, or lack thereof. The Gambler saw Goldilocks' direction and predicted where she was headed. The Clockmaker and his Clock Crew grabbed some of their own creations and prepared ot defend the site against the interlopers.

Coming through the front portico, Mighty Man grew to a twenty foot height with the expected increase in strength. Mirror Man brought his reflections in the front glass walls facing the building to life. He now had five duplicates of himself for the Injusticers to contend with. Nightbird was a woman who believed she deserved the fame and infamy that belonged to either Nightwing or Blackwing. She longed to defeat them in combat and prove her superiority. Red Mask had challenged Red Hood One for supremacy over the Red Hood Gang and lost. To humiliate him, Red Hood Hood had spared Red Mask but banished him from the worldwide Red Hood Gang network. BAGGU wore beetle themed powered armor. He'd tried to become a hero but had been branded a villain and his wife and taken their children and filed for divorce. He felt the Secret Society were the only ones that would accept him. So he became the very criminal he'd been accused of being.

Mirror Man's duplicates weren't a hive mind like Multiplex's. Instead each was an individual that was a copy of Mirror Man. But each would only last so long as light reflected off of their origination point. Since it was early morning, that light was provided by electric lights. The sunrise was still hours away. Carde Sharpe took a gamble and killed the external lights and Mirror Man's duplicates dissolved. The Gambler happily congratulated herself.

Mighty Man could proceed no further than the domed portico so he waited for the enemy to present itself. As Mirror Man cursed, he followed the conventionally armed Red Mask and the impatient Nightbird further into the building. The floor of the portico electrified and Mighty Man crashed to the floor and spasmed as electrical current washed over him. BAGGU had beenspared that fate by his armor's internal insulation. It made it hot to wear but he was grateful for that feature now.

The Clockmaker and Clock Crew confronted the intruders in the passageway. The women of the Clock Crew activated their temporal weaponry and Nightbird's throwing star froze in midair even she was caught in mid -motion. Red Mask's muzzle flash froze as the bullet was caught inches away from the barrel. Mirror Man was frozen cowering from the unexpected opposition. Only BAGGU was out of range.

Clockmaker aimed what appeared to be a steampunk model flare gun at BAGGU and the armored man was confident he could easily deflect a flare. The missile that flew from the gun startled him. It didn't detonate. Instead it unleashed an electromagnetic pulse that deactivated BAGGU's armor and froze him inside of it.

Wearing protective devices, three of the four women of the Clock Crew rearranged and redirected the weapons either hurled or thrown at them. Then they retreated and time was restarted. Nightbird's throwing star imbedded itself in Mirror Man's throat. Red Mask's bullet caught him in the chest and Nightbird was left standing alone. Now Clockmaker aimed an old Webley revolver at Nightbird.

"I'd surrender if I were you," he advised her.

Nightbird knew she'd never live down being captured .by nobodies. Meanwhile, the Gambler obeyed Goldilocks' worse case scenario instruction and reached out to potential help. Whether the recipients of that message would reply was a mystery even the Gambler didn't want to stake odds on. And once again, everyone wondered where the hell Music Meister and Upbeat were off to.

Deathstroke surprised the Secret Society by having them gather the fallen Injusticers at a centralized location. Slade noted the absent members and the fact that Capt. Comet was still conscious. He decided to deal with Major Disaster at another time. For now, he dismissed the Secret Society to gather their wounded and regroup at a LuthorCorp funded Zither Security Group safe house with medical facilities within as well as housing.

Capt. Comet amused Slade with his brimming confidence. Horus was eager for action, "Shall take him down?"

"Be my guest," Deathstroke obliged the Black Marvel's appetite for destruction. Capt. Comet was fast, could fly, had limited energy projection powers and possessed superhuman strength. All of which Horus matched. But Horus additionally possessed superhuman durability. Capt. Comet was tough, it was revealed. But he wasn't invulnerable like Horus and it cost him dearly. The rampaging Horus' beating upon Capt. Comet was memorable. But in the end, it was Capt. Comet that suffered an ignoble defeat.

Deathstroke called Horus off, "Vandal Savage wants them alive long enough to see their utter defeat."

"Haven't they already?" Vigilante inquired. Pat Trayce was not in favor of the public executions the Light had planned to teach the Superior City mayor, city council and police force that they'd backed the wrong players and needed to subscribe to Knightfall's criminal licensing program to detour rampant crime.

"You know the playbook here," Deathstroke reminded her, "You said you were in. Are you backing down now?"

"They're still criminals. I just don't approve of public executions," Vigilante told him, "Killing them now would serve the same purpose."

"It isn't dramatic enough for Vandal Savage's tastes. He's the employer here. Our contract stipulates what comes next," he also reminded her, "You signed on. I'll be checking your weapon after we commence to make certain your fired when called to. If you don't you'll forfeit your compensation package and that will end your private little war on crime."

"Fine. I'll do it," she said stiffly.

"All right people, we have the tools to bind them. String them up for display and summon the press corps and the city officials. I want them to view this," Deathstroke ordered.

"We're still missing some," the Surgeon pointed out.

"They'll be along shortly," Deathstroke predicted.

Goldilocks regretted how small her resistance group would be. But at least she had loyal assistants that would follow her lead in this. She was especially grateful that Solomon Grundy had come out unharmed. She hugged the hulking zombie and fiercely told him how much she cared about him.

"Shouldn't we get a share of that love?" Clock Queen smirked.

"I'm happy to see you all. I just wish the others were here as well," Goldilocks assured them all.

"We're not abandoning them. Are we?" the Mist asked worriedly.

"Of course we're not," the Wizard proclaimed.

"I can't believe we're the only ones left standing," Calendar Girl admitted.

"We are few it is true but our enemies are left without a clue," Alice the Mad Hatter grinned. Tinker Bell chimed her agreement.

"So what are we standing here, hat in hand so to speak, at Intergang's safe house?" Clock Queen asked.

The front door opened to reveal a pink haired Chinese woman, "Because you desperately need a favor."

Jenny Elsewhere invited them inside, "You need to keep from being spotted until you make your move. You'll never reach your own headquarters with the Titans and Secret Society answering to them."

They were collectively surprised, excluding Solomon Grundy who didn't feel such emotions, by the duplicate appearances of the rainbow haired Jenny Anywhere and green haired Jenny Everywhere. Even Johnny Everywhere resembled the Jennies. Which wouldn't have been a surprise to learn he'd been born a Jenny.

"Our collective powers are pretty limited right now. And our relative proximity to each other complicates our accuracy," Jenny Elsewhere warned Goldilocks.

"I just need a distraction," Goldilocks told them, "In order to reach the opposition."

"Then you're in luck. Deathstroke and the Titans have become a thorn in Intergang's side recently. Vigilante and I have a personal score to settle with one another," Jenny Elsewhere told them, "We can gear up and be ready for your signal in twenty minutes."

"Good enough," Goldilocks told her, "I'll owe you a personal favor."

"Because it's the Titans, it's on the house. But Intergang could use a favor," Jenny Elsewhere told her.

"Consider it owed," Goldilocks pledged.

The Jennies and Johnny portalled to their positions and waited for Goldilocks' signal to begin their operation. The text message came in to all of them and they revealed themselves and opened fire on the Titans' positions. Even Deathstroke was taken by surprise. Slade hadn't been aware that Jenny Elsewhere was in town or that she'd recruited duplicates with different colors of hair.

"Drive them back!" he ordered as he opened fire. Horus went airborne and Ink unleashed shadow tattoos brought to life. The Jennies and Johnny used their portal powers to exit Superior City and eastward to Metropolis to report to Big Boss and get new orders from the Director. Jenny Elsewhere where was one of the few people still alive that knew Dr. Jamie Moriarty, the Intergang European Operations Director, was also the Intergang Director. Moriarty used shadow boxes and digitally distorted imagery and voices to fool everyone in the 100 and the lesser ranked 1000 into believing she was a minion of the Director as well.

Big Boss, the Mandarin, and the Great One were aware by necessity but were sworn to silence. Selective members of the 100 had deduced the truth but kept silent about it. Those who knew and attempted to share the information experienced expedited deaths. Jenny Elsewhere wouldn't even tell Jenny Anywhere, Jenny Everywhere, and Johnny Everywhere to spare them that fate. But she still had to bring in her new recruits and get them approved by Intergang. Then they could be put to work. Afterwards, Jenny Elsewhere would share her long term objective with them.

"I was wondering how you'd make your approach," Slade said as he turned around to find the remaining Injusticers confronting the Titans.

"Putting bullets in the back of people's heads on international television isn't a job promotion for you, Slade," Goldilocks assessed, "It seems more of a demotion. And why use patsies to subdue us all when you're the one constantly trying to enhance his professional reputation by taking on such challenges?"

"The price was right," Deathstroke told her, "Now, we'll simply add you to our collection."

"You really think your Merry Men can bring us in?" Goldilocks snorted.

"I could by myself but why waste the exertion?" Deathstroke told her.

"I think your fortunes may be changing," Goldilocks told him as storm clouds began to form, defying all weather predictions. Even Weather Witch hadn't summoned a storm of this magnitude. A funnel cloud extended to the ground and the Titans and most of the Injusticers watched in horror as a tornado moved their way. It seemed inescapable. Then it dissipated just as quickly revealing three forms that had traveled within it.

Dorothy Gale THE Wicked Witch of Oz stood beside the tween Maimie Mannering of Neverland and Pan's Shadow, detached from the dead Peter and seeking vengeance for its creator's murder. They seemed an odd choice for a rescue since two out of three wanted Alice and Tinker Bell dead. But the Gambler had exploited that hunger for vengeance and explained to Dorothy's charges that if the Titans killed Alice and Tink, they'd never have the satisfaction of doing so themselves. Maimie and the Shadow agreed with that logic. So they'd persuaded Dorothy to make an appearance as the Wicked Witch of every direction.

For the first time during the operation, Slade felt doubts creep up on him. Dorothy had gone toe to toe with the Evil Queen on two occasions and walked away. The Unseelie Court Fae had nearly conquered Earth and only the mysterious intervention by Music Meister and Upbeat had frightened Renfri into abandoning her designs on the New Universe. Renfri had plans to storm the very gates of Hell itself and Avalon. Yet she feared two seeming children. One a tween and another that varied between appearing as six to ten year old. No one knew who or what they naturally were. But they claimed the rules were that they manifest on Earth and in the New Universe as children.

Who made the rule was as mysterious as the beings themselves. But it was easy to see by the Evil Queen's reaction that the were even more powerful than their reality warping powers indicated. Only Goldilocks knew why they'd loosely aligned themselves with her. She wasn't telling and everyone had given up asking.

"You shouldn't be here," Slade warned Dorothy.

"Spare Alice the Mad Hatter and Tinker Bell and we'll be on our merry way," Dorothy offered him.

"My orders are to bring them in," Deathstroke revealed to his own forces for the first time.

"Not happening," Dorothy snapped her fingers. Hitman, Natt the hat, Crossfire, the Surgeon, SpecOps, and Deadend's rifles and pistols all fell to pieces. The blades on their knives corroded into rusty dust. Their grenades fell to pieces. Only Deathstroke and Vigilante were still armed, "Care to give it a go?"

Ink and Horus moved up alongside Slade and Pat. Deathstroke sounded amused, "Take your witchery elsewhere."

"They're freeing the prisoners!" Crossfire warned. The Wizard cast a spell and the Titans were unable to approach the Injusticers. Everyone was freed but they were all still unconscious.

"It's no matter. Soon we'll have them all," Deathstroke assured the Cockney Briton.

"Except for the two my lovely companions want," Dorothy interjected.

"Those two are the main reason we're here," Deathstroke advised her, "We're not leaving without them."

"I thought you might say something like that," Dorothy sounded bored. The Wicked Witch met a dismissive wave of the hand and a second tornado appeared only this one bent and sucked Deathstroke the Titans up in itself. Even Horus, who resisted the longest, found himself carried away as the tornado spent itself out and stopped whirling. The cloud twisted away.

"Your teammate caught my friends' attention. Now they want their prize," Dorothy challenged Goldilocks.

Maimie and Pan's Shadow hungrily approached by air as the Injusticers rallied around Alice and Tink. Dorothy shook her head at the Wizard, "Do you honestly think you stand a chance?"

"Maybe I don't have to," the Wizard said as the reality around them warped and became a stage inside a theater. The Wicked Witch and her companions stood at one end of the massive arena sized stage while the Injusticers and their fallen occupied the other side. The backdrop was a massive flatboard reconstruction of the Emerald City. The stage was paved over in yellow bricks and beside the stage were red poppies.

"This is not funny!" Dorothy raged.

"I didn't do it," the Wizard almost sounded alarmed herself.

A small Scottish terrier emerged from the poppies and dutifully leaned up its paws against Dorothy. She gasped, "Toto? But I killed you!"

A Cowardly Lion, a Scarecrow, and Tin Man all came up on stage. Dorothy was beginning to look terrified, "You're all dead!"

A prop of a pirate ship hoisted on cables swung over the stage and a boy and pirate stood upon its decks. Maimie was the one to look both horrified and delighted, "Peter? Captain Hook?"

The Shadow flew up to the Pan and tried to adhere itself to him but was unable to. It floated away in confusion. Maimie flew up to greet Peter, "But Tinker Bell killed you!"

"Did she? Or do I still live on in your memory?" Peter asked, "Don't you remember our adventures when you were my first Lost Girl? Do you remember when I asked you to marry me?"

"Of course I remember!" Maimie was close to sobbing, "But I returned to London to say goodbye to my Mum and Dad. Only so much time had passed they were dead. In my sorrow, I couldn't remember how to fly or how to return to Neverland. It took me ten years to recall. When I returned, you were dead."

"You have to let that go," Peter advised her, "I'll live on inside of you. You have my Shadow. You be the Pan now. Work to free Neverland and leave Tinker Bell alone. She was right to end my life. It'd become twisted and evil because I listened to the Evil Queen. I was unfaithful to you because I sought out Wendy Darling and brought her to Neverland in your place rather than look for you. That was petty of me. You deserved better from me."

"Bad form, Peter," Captain James Hook agreed, "You became my pirate king and you broke this poor girl's heart."

"Goodbye, Maimie. Take my Shadow and return to Neverland. Help Tigerlily defeat the Evil Queen's occupation forces and save the Lost Boys and Girls," Peter instructed, "With my Shadow, you can become the Pan. The pixies will follow you if you can do so."

"Don't go, Peter," Maimie said as the ship lifted away and was hoisted into the shadows above. Maimie was too heartsick to try and find out what became of it. She floated back down onto the stage. Pan's Shadow attached itself to her and it became her shadow. Maimie was startled by this, "Peter was right! I have to go!"

Seeing the seating area was open roofed, Maimie flew off towards the send to the right and straight `till morning to meet her destiny. That left Dorothy alone to face her demons.

"I killed all of you," she growled, "You can't be here."

"But Dorothy, you killed all the wicked witches. You weren't supposed to become one," the Scarecrow argued, just as he had in life.

"I was chosen when I was eight years old after my house dropped on the Wicked Witch of the East. Her sister's death was an accident but the Wizard and Glenda decided it was my destiny. Glenda trained me to be a witch because I have the gift. They put me on course to kill the wicked witches and I did. I grew up doing that. They wanted a murderer and they got one. Then you all turned on me when I became the Wicked Witch of Oz and began killing the remaining good witches," Dorothy recited her history from her perspective, "Ozma knew it was my destiny. That's why she had that prison prepared for me. My best friend locked me away for what was supposed to be eternity. The only reason they let me out was to kill Alice the Mad Hatter. They wanted death and destruction and I gave it to them."

"You were destined to be the Chosen One, the Good Witch to defend Oz from the Evil Queen," the Tin Man told her, "But you lost your heart."

"And your courage," the Cowardly Lion accused.

"Finally, you lost your mind," the Scarecrow said sadly.

"Don't make me kill you all over again," Dorothy warned them.

"You need to see the Wizard. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," the Scarecrow offered.

"I'm not singing that song again," Dorothy protested, "And the Wizard's dead. Oz is a wasteland."

"People survived. The Wizard is in hiding. They need a witch to defend them when they fight back against the Evil Queen's occupation forces and finally the Evil Queen herself when hears you've returned," the Tin Man told her.

"Why me?" Dorothy bemoaned.

"Because that is your true destiny," the Cowardly Lion told her, "To be brave for everyone that can't be."

Dorothy sulked, "I told them I'd never go back."

"They need you and you know it," the Scarecrow told her.

"Don't be afraid," the Cowardly Lion urged.

"Find it in your heart to help them again," the Tin Man pleaded. Even Toto looked expectant.

"I get your message," Dorothy called out to the audience, "I'm not singing that damn song but I'll return to Oz to see it for myself."

A green tornado formed and Dorothy stepped into its embrace. It died after did so and she was gone. But the stage remained.

"Now what?" the Mist asked.

"This is power. Real power. I couldn't change anything if I tried. I can't get us away away from here," the Wizard warned Goldilocks.

Only Alice and Tinker Bell seemed unwary. A native American tween and a Chinese eight year old came down from the rafters of the seating. Both were girls. Goldilocks breathed a sigh of relief, "You received my beacon message."

"Dorothy and Maimie needed our help," Music Meister told them, "How could we refuse?"

"She let me handle the play," Upbeat enthused.

"Is that why no one sang?" Clock Queen asked.

"My understudy isn't well versed in the rules yet. We'll have a musical number next time when I remind her of how things are done," Music Meister promised.

"Actually, I was relieved," Calendar Girl admitted.

Music Meister told them to turn around and they found their unconscious comrades were missing. Music Meister calmed their fears, "They'll awake in their own beds. They won't be nice about it but it's a courtesy. The exits are at the back of the theater. The stage exits are clearly marked. When you exit the theater you'll find yourself in your headquarters."

"But you're not done yet," Goldilocks recognized from her tone.

"We have matters to discuss with you, Alice, and Tinker Bell," Music Meister warned them.

"We have news for you all," Upbeat was excited.

"Don't give it away. The rules still apply. They can't know their futures. We just guide them to the path they're supposed to be on," Music Meister calmed her understudy, "Kids these days."

"So there is symbolism in your age difference," Goldilocks thought she understood.

"Yes, the gap is both larger and smaller than it appears to be," Music Meister revealed, "But I really can't explain."

"Can it be? Could we see? Can we go home when it's still overrun by that crone?" Alice asked.

"Renfri is hardly a crone despite being almost as old as the original Multiverse," Music Meister clarified, "For her kind, she's quite young and acts like it too."

"But to answer your question, you're right! Your mother and father need your help so the exile has been lifted," Upbeat excitedly rattled on.

"Tinker Bell can go with you to Wonderland and live there with you. The White Queen and the Pixies of Neverland understand your bond and will supply her with fresh pixie dust to renew her powers since they've forged an alliance," Music Meister explained, "Take the stage exit to arrive in the rebel camp in Wonderland."

"It was a treat that can't be beat," Alice told Goldilocks with heartfelt meaning. Tink chimed her agreement. Goldilocks could swear she almost understood the pixie this time. They exited in hurry and vanished from the New Universe.

"Your song is just beginning," Music Meister advised Goldilocks, "The stakes are as high as they've ever been. But Upbeat and I will continue to watch over you. You have unknown allies in the Heckler, Superwoman, and Hellequin. Allies that don't yet know their importance. They thought creating the New Universe and ending the Anti Monitor's existence was their role. It was their beginning. They've proven themselves now. Their songs will join yours. Lois Lane is the keynote that all of you must resolve and master or the unmutable history that Glorith envisioned when she unleashed Rebirth will come undone and Saturn Queen will ascend in the future from this present. You've lived through that future once before. Now you can prevent it a second time. Saturn Queen is unaware of your knowledge or that past future. You can get ahead of her this time. You have loyal followers to deploy. Gather your allies and wait for your opportunity. The crescendo is coming that will make or break the performance. You have to play your part in it."

"Why can't you simply end the threat?" Goldilocks wondered again.

"These are mortal affairs. We serve as guardians and guides. Our kind can't interfere in the freedom of choice. We can show you a path but if you choose to walk away we can't stop you. But if you don't play your intended part, there are no understudies for any of you," Music Meister struggled to explain.

"Lois Lane was shown her path and she chose to walk away from it," Upbeat pointed out, "That changed the desired outcome. She can choose ot return to her intended path but if she does so, Lana Linda Lang has to choose to accept it as well."

"This sound complicated," Goldilocks complained.

"It was always so. Lois just made things harder to achieve," Music Meister sighed, "We're powerful beings but we can't change the human heart. Or any other being's as well. We can only show them their true desire and hope they choose wisely afterwards."

"So, I contact my so-called 'allies' and watch and wait?" Goldilocks sought clarity.

"Saturn Queen is back on Earth in this time," Music Meister warned, "She must not be allowed to succeed. You and your other chosens are the only ones that can stop her plans."

"No pressure then," Goldilocks complained.

"If you succeed, you save the future and the entire universe," Upbeat added, "Just saying."

"She could have lived without that," Music Meister rolled her eyes. The gesture was so age appropriate it made Goldilocks laugh.

"Your exit awaits," Music Meister told her, "Go play your part. We'll be there for you when you truly need us."

"For all time," Upbeat called after the hesitantly exiting Goldilocks.

"She really didn't need to know that part either," Music Meister chastised her understudy, "We are reviewing the rules gain. Now!"

The next morning, "Goldilocks had a meeting with the mayor, the city council, and Commissioner Torres. The bulk of the Injustice Society was recuperating from their defeats. Many had been badly beaten and didn't have the cheat of reverting to mortal and back again like the Thunders. Rival's Speed Force driven metabolism had him healed within mere hours. Blue and Red Trinity healed more slowly but were perky the next morning to the dismay of those still suffering. Shiv's own accelerated healing factor, that allowed to house and extend blades from her body without grievous injury, also had her fully prepared to caustically meet the new day.

Goldilocks sent a delegation to Los Angeles where a new player had emerged as a replacement for Icicle. The young woman had freezing powers acquired through unknown means. She'd taken the name already seeing how it seemed to be available. She was plaguing the LAPD and Manhunter who'd be glad to be rid of her. Both Shiv and Rival demanded to be part of the recruiting effort to see "if she measured up". Goldilocks conceded rather than battle it out. She'd be glad to oust their fouled moods from headquarters anyway. Clock Queen and Calendar Girl led the recruitment team. The Mist went as well as the perfect pitch spokesperson.

Goldilocks had known she'd be called upon to answer for the Secret Society's rampage and Iron Knife's escape. The Injusticers had few prisoners to show for the night. The SCPD had collected the Secret Society squads defeated by the Injusticers both at headquarters and in the streets. It seemed Torres had moved her officers and detectives in faster that the still liberated Secret Society members could collect their wounded. Goldilocks would be asked to find the Secret Society if they were still present inside Superior City.

Goldilocks knew exactly where the Secret Society had taken refuge. She also knew the local DA wouldn't seek search warrants against a LuthorCorp holding to root them out. She'd say as much, of course, to deaf ears that would seek to blame her for the night's debacle. She couldn't reveal the link between the shadowy Light and LuthorCorp with enough evidence to satisfy a court. Doing so would get her and her people actually killed next time. Deathstroke and the Titans could have picked off the Injusticers as had seemed the original plan. But Vandal Savage blinked in his effort to acquire Alice the Mad Hatter and Tinker Bell.

The Injustice Society's forces would be depleted without them. Alice's mind control powers had proven invaluable in the past. She and Tink had also proven to be invaluable in fighting the Evil Queen. But with Renfri banned from the New Universe by Music Meister and Upbeat, they weren't needed as deterrents on the New Earth anymore. Nor were Dorothy Gale, Maimie Mannering and Pan's Shadow. They'd serve greater causes liberating their actual or adopted Realms of Existence from the Evil Queen's control.

The Multiverse and the New Universe that followed its destruction were the only Realm to ever have repulsed the Evil Queen. But Renfri chose her targets well and spent decades developing agents in the targeted Realm and undermining its leadership. Some had gone to extremes to battle the Evil Queen. Snow White had been sired by Cain himself. She'd returned to the Enchanted Realm as its sole vampyr. Her blood thirst extending to its citizens as well as her enemies.

Snow White's sister, Red Rose, had become a vampire hunter to end her sister's threat. With both heirs to the Realm's legitimate throne and Princess Aurora asleep, it left the factions from the domains within the Realm divided and the Evil Queen resurgent. The likeliest claimants to the throne were Cinderella, Elsa the Frozen Queen, and Rapunzel. They had the most support other than die hards that still wanted the Sleeping Beauty awoken despite Prince Philip's failure and death at the hands of the Evil Queen after she'd killed Malificent as her only true rival in the Realm.

The Evil Queen had slaughtered her own kind in the Seelie and Unseelie Courts of the Sidhe and enslaved the Realm of the Faery. Other than the High Sidhe of the Realm of Avalon, the Evil Queen was the sole remaining Sidhe in Existence. Goldilocks was glad to know Alice and Tinker Bell would be back in Wonderland fighting Renfri's proxies. Having Dorothy in Oz and Maimie back in Neverland removed potential threats the Injusticers had been pitted against beforehand. She wished them all luck and fortune in their new endeavors.

Now she just had to deal with legalism and bureaucracy. She was both surprised and disappointed find the Justice League's Global Guardians' core squad present at the ruined City Hall when she arrived. Owlwoman and Jack O'Lantern were sympathetic figures from her brief stint with the Justice League Unlimited before it diversified into several separate entities. Like Justice League International, the Global Guardians answered to the United Nations and not the United States. They were designed to deal with international regional crises that weren't dangerous enough to warrant the JLI's intervention.

The Global Guardians also had a pool of international superheroes that were still independent of IO. It seemed there were still heroes out there with moral standing to resist Miles Craven's own ambitions. Homeland Security had accompanied the US Marshals in transporting the Secret Society prisoners to Belle Reeve earlier that morning as the sun rose. The Global Guardians had arrived as City Hall attempted to reopen for business. Only the Council chamber was opened to the outer world and in need of reconstruction.. So the meeting took place at a nearby local coffee house.

The informal setting did little to dissuade Goldilocks feeling like she was under trial. Especially when the ambitious District Attorney arrived after she did. The Global Guardians had added to the core group since Goldilocks last reviewed them. Owlwoman still led the team. Veterans like Jack, Samurai, Apache Chief, and Black Vulcan were squad leaders under her leadership as well has good friends and even one lover.

The Global Guardians were still Euro-centric with the Knight, Page, Mayflower and her sister, Godiva, representing Great Britain. Golden Eagle represented Germany. Vztek and Slanecnice were both from the Czech Republic. But Mexico and Latin America were better represented now that El Zorro, Lady Zorro, El Dorado, and Lady Rawhide joined La Suprema and La Espirita from Mexico and the Cubans Espiritu de lucha and Revelucion were core members. Red Dragon joined Samurai in representing Japan. Asian representation had grown as well as the blonde Amerasian descended Saigon came from Vietnam. Ocean Blue came from the Philippines while Snapdragon and Skycrest represented Indonesia's island chains. The newest American additions were the veteran independent operators Blue Falcon and his cyborg dog, Dyna Mutt. Surrendering to politics, the Russian immigrant to Israel, Kvir, had been added to the main team roster while her Middle Eastern counterparts were still confined to being mere regional operators.

The move had offended the Arab states but the United States delegates to the UN Security Council had demanded it and Great Britain and France backed it. China and Russia abstained from the final vote and the petition was narrowly approved by the sitting council. So Kvir went to France to live in the Global Guardians' headquarters there called the Dome.

Goldilocks could care less about the politicking. She wanted to know why the Global Guardians were concerning themselves with a local matter and said as much. Owlwoman clarified their purpose there that morning, "Iron Knife and his Knives operate an illegal terrorist state that sponsors international terrorism across of Africa. The Knives claimed diplomatic immunity to escape custody and the United States' sovereign territory. Your local district attorney didn't understand that Iron Knife and the Iron Country aren't recognized as a legitimate state by the United States or the United Nations and the Knives were never qualified for diplomatic immunity because this country has no diplomatic ties with the Iron Country."

The DA nicely withered under Owlwoman's glacial condemnation before she continued, "Since Iron Knife escaped and is considered an international fugitive from the World Court, we got called in to track him down and bring him back to the Hague."

"He left as the sun set last night. It's been hours and the Secret Society and Deathstroke's Titans ran amok. Can you still track him?" Goldilocks questioned Owlwoman's tracking power's ability to acquire Iron Knife's trail from that mess.

"Commissioner Torres explained how Iron Knife escaped by stealing one of the force's new flying police cars," Owlwoman told her, "Even if Iron Knife manages to recharge the car over distances, it's still a distinctive vehicle. Someone will report it. There's a multi-state all points bulletin out for it."

"I'll have my people scour social media for sightings as well," Goldilocks offered, "If it pops up, my people will find the clip or reference."

"That would be...helpful," Owlwoman was relieved by the offer of cooperation. She'd obviously expected resistance. The next point on her agenda would be the trickiest to navigate, "I'd like to speak with your agents that personally confronted Iron Knife."

"I'm not certain that's such a good idea. They're still recovering from last night," Goldilocks scowled, "Many are suffering from concussions and have been severely beaten. They're lucky to be alive. The Secret Society could have killed them but Deathstroke wanted two members alive and wanted to make an example of the rest of us by publicly executing them."

"It would be as greatly appreciated as your cyber search efforts," Owlwoman insisted.

"That team was never attacked," Goldilocks grew short tempered, "They're fit for duty. The others aren't capable of standing or sitting for extended periods yet much less answering invasive and specific questions."

"We aren't after them," Owlwoman said softly, "We have no direct knowledge of any outstanding warrants and we mean to keep it that way."

"I can't even be certain they remember all of what happened at City Hall," Goldilocks retorted, "I'm sorry, but my people are off limits."

"We'll remember this," Jack O'Lantern warned her.

"Let me talk to her," Godiva requested, "Outside and privately."

Goldilocks nodded her consent and she accompanied her sister outside, "Dorcas, my people simply aren't up to it. I force them into interviews with your people and I lose their loyalty."

"I don't know what you're really up to with the Injustice Society but you've done good things here in Superior City with them," Godiva told her, "You've generated goodwill with the Justice League. Don't throw that away."

"I appreciate that but my answer stays the same," Goldilocks told her.

"You're as stubborn and selfish as ever," Godiva snapped at her.

"Dorcas, I'm protecting the health of my teammates," Goldilocks said defensively.

"Dora. It's Dora now," Godiva said coldly, "Which you'd know if you hadn't murdered our parents and our uncle and become a criminal. I thought you'd turned around when you joined the JLU. But then you disappeared after a murder took place in the Hall of Justice and you ended up with the Injustice Society. It doesn't look good."

"And all you care about is appearances," Goldilocks had had enough of her sister's condescending to her, "I've accomplished real changes here. I turned a team of super villains into a city's guardians. We certainly get paid to but you don't exactly work for free either."

Godiva bristled. The United Nations paid the JLU members a stipend and the reservists a retainer to compensate them for their efforts. Full-time JLers received a greater share of the budget. Staffers were well compensated employees. The Justice League was publicly funded by both the United Nations and Homeland Security for separate divisions. Only the Operations, Administrative, and Support Divisions were jointly funded. The Justice League had become big business. A fact Goldilocks had just weaponized.

"Don't condemn me for privatizing what you do yourself," Goldilocks threw at her older sister.

"You little prat!" Godiva snapped back, "The police back home couldn't conclusively prove your murdered our family and burned down the estate and grounds but I know. And I'll never trust you or forgive you for that."

"Because I allegedly torched your inheritance or because you honestly cared about those child molesters and their enablers?" Goldilocks asked.

"This again?" Godiva scoffed.

"You were protected because you were the eldest and away at school. Why do you think I was never sent away to join you there?" Goldilocks asked, "Uncle Henry couldn't lose his favorite toy and Mum and Dad couldn't afford to deny him whatever he wanted. Even if it meant prostituting their pre-adolescent and then adolescent daughter. It's no wonder I went mental."

"This was all part of your sick fantasy world," Godiva shot back.

"No, this was the root cause of my sick fantasy world," Goldilocks tersely replied, "Why do think my fantasy revolved around being rescued?"

Godiva had no ready answer for that. Goldilocks finalized her point, "Others have come forward against Uncle Henry. Maybe you should investigate their claims before you condemn your only blood."

"Attention seekers and fortune hunters, the lot of them," Godiva snorted. But Goldilocks saw she'd seeded doubt into Godiva's mind.

"Listen to the, Dorcas...Dora...Godiva, whichever name you want to hide behind rather than face our sordid past and your own complicity in being willfully ignorant of my plight. You saw it as clearly as Mum and Dad and you're equally complicit. But you were in boarding school and were young enough to not have a clue of who to talk to about you knew was happening. I forgive you for that. But I can't forgive you still denying what you know to be the blatant and ugly truth. Uncle Henry was a pedophile predator and Mum and Dad trafficked me into sexual slavery. All because they couldn't live within their means and Uncle Henry could pay their unnecessary debts. They were as big of monsters as Uncle Henry himself. Choose the lie to protect your version of what protects your reputation or choose your own sister and admit to yourself you've always known what was happening and that you did nothing to help. You don't have to embrace me as your sister. But you at least owe to me and yourself to listen to these women and accept the truth about yourself and our family at large. Tell Owlwoman I'm sorry and would really love to help but my people aren't up for it. Goodbye Dorcas. Maybe our paths will cross again. I hope you enjoy living in Paris."

Goldilocks went to where her own modern flying car was parked. She fired it up its magnetic repulsors and the car rose into the air. She synched its computer to the city's air traffic control system that Cowgirl and Cyber Witch had devised for them, making Superior City the first metropolis to embrace the technology. San Francisco was investing in the hardware infrastructure and software to operate such a system. The cars themselves were going to market in advance of their operation being legalized.

Goldilocks flew back to headquarters and landed before moving into the garage. The Wizard met her in the garage, "How'd it go?"

"There'll be a follow up session for just the city," Goldilocks sighed, "We're not finished with this affair. But the Global Guardians came to press me into allowing them to interview Safari, the General, and Capt. Thunder as well as Andy. I denied them the request on the basis that they simply aren't up to answered in-depth questions yet. I purposefully neglected mentioning that Andy was going to Los Angeles on a recruiting drive."

"What happens next?" Natalie asked, "The Secret Society beat us badly. We haven't been beaten like that since you took over. Some will blame you."

"Let them," Goldilocks snorted, "We receive daily briefings from Homeland on the composition of super teams and their members' powers and abilities. We have building dossiers on superheroes and super villains alike."

"I don't understand why Bones gives us superhero data," the Wizard admitted.

"In case Bones and Waller wants us to take out one of them," Goldilocks thought was obvious, "That was the whole point of them building a Justice League of America to rival the Justice League Unlimited. They think they control the Outsiders and the UN controls the JLI and the Global Guardians. But they're all like Dark Justice and only answer to themselves."

"Cowgirl and Cyber Witch got your text. They've started their search," the Wizard changed topics, "They'll repost results to the Global Guardians' accounts."

"At least some part of this morning was salvaged," Goldilocks was heartened by that at least, "Wenonah offered an olive branch I had to reject. That won't sit well with Col. Trevor and Sue Dibney. We've just become an active concern for Shayera Hol, Ralph Dibney, and John Stewart again."

"What about the Justice Society?" the Wizard fretted.

"We've always been one of their active concerns. I wouldn't be surprised if their AI, Roxy, is aware of everything Cowgirl and Cyber Witch are up to," Goldilocks admitted.

"Do you expect them to come after us?" the Wizard pertinently inquired.

"Not yet," Goldilocks advised her, "But they won't stay away forever. Roxy will begin their attempt to take us in. Cowgirl and Cyber Witch will face their ultimate challenge faced against her. A rogue element is Max Lord. He has L-Ron and J-Lo at his disposal and despite playing UN Ambassador for the JLU, he's playing his own long game. He bears scrutiny. He's working with the Crimson Queen but who else is he cooperating with? We need to know."

"You suspect someone in particular," the Wizard realized.

"No, my greatest fear is someone specific," Goldilocks told her, "As soon as Aviva is properly on her feet, I need her to take over for a few days. I need to fly out to Brooklyn, Metropolis, and Gotham City."

"Alone?' the Wizard squeaked.

"It won't work out otherwise," Goldilocks heaved another sigh, "I have friends to make. Friends that can help us secure our future."

"Recruits?" the Wizard askeed. The Injustice Society was already quite large.

"Allies. We need them. War is coming and I think Max Lord and the Crimson Queen will be part of it. I need to petition an audience with Disco Mummy as well. She'll want to hear what I have to report," Goldilocks warned the Wizard, "In the meantime, I need you to gather my supporters and make certain I still have a job to come back to."

"How do we do that?" the Wizard asked.

"By breaking Geo-Mancer and Killer Wasp out of prison. Their probation period for failure is over. They need to rejoin us," Goldilocks told the Wizard, "Shadow Thief can plan the details on my authority."

"But you're leading the breakout?" the Wizard sought clarification.

"I should spectacularly succeed or fail in a matter of days," Goldilocks shrugged, "So, I'll be right back home before the week is out. It'll take Aviva that long to plan the operation and for Clock Queen's recruitment team to return. Rival and Shiv will want in on it."

"This will also score points with them," the Wizard predicted.

"Shiv and Rival will still bitch about everything but Geo-Mancer and Killer Wasp will be more embracing of my leadership for a short while," Goldilocks predicted, "But they'll still go back to agitating for someone else to fill my role. Which is why I need you to lead the supporters."

"I won't fail you," Natalie Tool promised. Goldilocks was the first to embrace her as the Wizard's daughter without questions or doubts.

"I know you won't," Goldilocks assured her, "Now, I need to speak with the Shadow Thief and then book a charter flight to JFK."

"What about a hotel?" the Wizard asked.

"I'll be calling in a favor from an old friend," Goldilocks smiled, "So lodgings will be taken care of as well contact information for my persons of interest."

"I hope you know what you're doing with Disco Mummy," the Wizard said with great worry.

"I just hope to survive the meeting," Goldilocks confessed.

That didn't reassure the young Wizard.
