Lego Legends of Chima: The Story of Worlux and Elyda Redux
[Did think I was ever gonna revive this old story but here I am. I honestly have been wanting to for a while but I've been so focused on my Pokémon stories, stories you should totally check out. I thought about just continuing where I left off but after reading the whole story back, I knew I needed to make some changes. This story started back when I was a novice writer and it clearly shows. So here I am, rewriting the whole story with the knowledge and skills I've picked up over the years. This story is going to be adding episodes from the show that I may have missed while also adding some more details and character moments that I feel the old story lacked. Most of the chapters from the old story got combined with another for this one since I felt that they were pretty short. Hope you all enjoy. Note: I do not own the show or cover art, only my OCs and some plot. All rights to their respective owners.]
Chapter 1: Worlux and Elyda
Opening Narration by King Lagravis: "Chima, a magical world of untamed nature, beauty and wonder. From the mysterious Mount Cavora, the chi falls provide life, harmony and power to the animals who inhabit the land. But the precious chi orbs are objects of desire, and the animals have become divided. However, in the midst of looming war and uncertainty, two souls will find themselves unexpectedly crossing paths. This is their story. This is the Legends of Chima: The Story of Worlux and Elyda."
(Eagle Spire, morning time)(Elyda's POV)
A new day up here in the Eagle Spire which I was made aware of by the morning sun shining through my window and hitting my face. I stirred and began to force myself up in order to get ready for school. As much as I wanted to stay in bed, I'd feel a little bad if I left my friends hanging in class if I wasn't there. Plus, with my dad being one of the head intellectuals, teachers, and pilots of the Eagles, it wouldn't be a good look. Not that I want to be at his level but I do wanna make him proud by making a good effort.
"Alright, let's do this." I said as I slowly got out of my comfortable, neat bed and stretched out my arms, legs, and wings up high, letting out a moan as I tried to get all the sleepiness out. I then walked to my bath, stopping in front of my mirror to check myself. I saw that a bit of my light blue feathers were unstraighten and some were falling off due to the sleep. I knew I was going to have to fix all that after I finished washing, and quickly got back into my morning routine as I entered my bathroom.
(10 minutes later)
I was back in front of my mirror, putting on and adjusting my elegant, silver eagle cloths/armor, a chest plate harness and flowing skirt that went to mid thigh. It provided good protection for the important places despite it being a bit revealing. Either way, I still think I looked good in it. I walked over to my window sill. I then took a deep breath and closed my eyes before diving out, keeping my wing tucked as I sped downwards.
"Wooo hooo!" I yelled loudly, probably waking some eagles up in the process as I did a little spin. I brought up my wing, the air picking up under them as I slowed my descent and began to ascend to the library where they held classes. Morning flights like these always woke me up, plus, it allowed me to appreciate and take in the morning air and sun, especially on a beautiful day like this as the Chima sun slowly rose over the horizon.
"Hey Elyda!" Someone called. I stopped my fall and turned to see that it was my best friend Eaglan flying with her younger brother Eregor. Eaglan and I have been friends for a really long time ever since we were nested together.
"Hey Eaglan, hey Eregor!" I said waving to them and coming up to hover next to each other.
"Sup Elyda!" Eregor said back. Eregor didn't talk very much unlike his sister, preferring to keep to himself most of the time. They both had dark blue feathers and wore gold armor/clothing similar to mine with Eregor wearing shorts instead of a skirt.
"I can't believe I actually beat you two here. You guys usually beat me to class." I joked. "What happened?"
"Sis here spent ages doing Legend Beast knows what in the bathroom." Eregor stated, pointing a thumb towards his sister. "What she does in there I'll never understand."
"*fake gasp* Rude, you know it takes time to look this good." Eaglan stated, posing in the air before coming up to my side and wrapping an arm around my waist. "We gotta keep up with our status as the cutest girls in our class. It comes way too naturally for Elyda so I gotta make sure I keep up."
"I wouldn't say I'm all that…" I stated modestly, even if some of the guys in class would say otherwise.
"You're being modest again girl. You know you got the most guys in class drooling over ya." Eaglan joked, getting Eregor to fake gag.
"I'd rather not have that attention from all of them though, especially a certain few…" I stated, shuddering uncomfortably as one particular eagle came to mind.
"Yeesh, you're right, those guys take it too far, especially him. Sorry girl." Eaglan apologized, shuddering as well as we both had the same guy in mind.
"Moving on…technically, you haven't beaten us yet. We're all still flying outside the Spire and talking." Eregor stated as we all noticed this.
"Oh yeah…" I said with a small laugh, Eaglan sharing it before I noticed her gain a devious smirk. Before I could question her, she suddenly closed her wings to her back and dropped out of the sky.
"Last one there has to clean the 2 winners' rooms!" Eaglan said as she dropped, quickly making her way down to the level where classes were located.
"H-hey! No fair!" Eregor yelled.
"Ain't no way I'm cleaning your rooms!" I yelled before both Eregor and I dove down as well to catch up. We all landed in the hallway that goes to the library and bolted running. Eaglan still had the lead but I was slowly catching up to her.
"Ha, can't catch these tail feathers!" Eaglan said laughing. She was looking behind her and unbeknownst to her, Eglor suddenly appeared out of an intersecting hallway.
"Woah, Eaglan! Look ou-!" I tried to warn her but it was too late as they both collided and fell to the floor. They both said a unified ouch as Eregor and I quickly ran up to them to see if they were okay.
"Ah, my head, what hit me?" Eaglan questioned, rubbing her head before looking up to see Eglor also rubbing his head in pain. "Oh my Legend Beasts, Eglor, are you okay?"
"Yes I'm fine, don't worry, no harm done." Eglor said while being helped up by Eaglan and I as we all made it to them.
"Sorry about that Daddy, we were on our way to class and decided to race there…" I stated, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"It's quite alright. You all should really be more careful though, who knows who else could have been here instead of me. You both are 16 now, you gotta act your age." Eglor scolded a bit to Eaglan and I. "Same goes to you too Eregor, even if you're just a few years younger."
"Yes sir." The three of us said in unison.
"Don't worry, we'll be more mindful going forward." I stated sincerely, causing Daddy to smile.
"That's all I need to hear, now aren't you all supposed to be in your class right now? It's about to start." Eglor said cheekily while turning around to walk away. "I'll see you all in my class on time later on, you'll all be testing out the new thrusters on the Eagle Jets."
"Oh no." Eaglan, Eregor, and I said in unison upon realizing the time, soon sprinting into the library before we were late. We ran into class then took our seats just as the teacher entered from a different room, causing us to breathe a sigh of relief. Our teacher was on the old side, though that also meant she had a lot of personal experiences she could pull from when she taught which I kind of enjoyed.
"Good on you all to make it this morning students." Our teacher said to the class, everyone voicing out various morning greetings. "Good morning to you all as well. Now, let us continue where we left off in our study of the history of Chima. Everyone open your books."
"Ugh, forgot that's what we were covering." Eaglan said, letting out a whispered groan as she pressed her head against our shared desk. "I don't think I'm gonna make it."
"History isn't that bad. Battle training though…" Eregor stated with a shudder.
"Come on guys, today won't be so bad. Let's just get through these classes and relax for the rest of the day. Hangout in my room?" I asked. The siblings both gave me a nod with a smile. I smiled back and we all settled into the lecture. Despite what I said though…
Something tells me this is still going to be a long day. I thought as the lecture continued.
(Wolf Camp, same morning)(Worlux's POV)
"Bro, Worlux, wake up. We're going to be late for fighting practice if you don't wake up." Wydrum, my best friend and basically little brother at this point since we grew up and did everything together, even lived together. We were pretty much the only family that each other had. He was two years younger than me, 16 to my 18, and had light gray fur. I woke up groaning after hearing Wydrum's excessive calling and him shaking me.
"Alright, alright I'm up. Shit." I groaned, annoyed that I was woken up so early. I couldn't really be mad at him though since he was looking out for me in the same way I would for him. I sat up from my bed and looked towards him, seeing that he was already wearing his harness over his red tunic and pants.
"Finally, hurry up and get your gear on. You know the instructor hates it when soldiers are late for practice. Remember what happened to the last wolf who was late?" Wydrum said, making me wake up fully upon remembering that punishment when our instructors were already in a bad mood.
"Shit you're right. You go on ahead and I'll meet you there. No sense you getting punished for waiting on me." I stated.
"Alright I'll see you there. Don't be long. I don't want to be the only one targeted out there." Wydrum stated before running out the door. I quickly got out of bed, staring at the mirror. I looked fine but one whiff of myself and I knew I still stunk. Quickly, I washed myself in my bathroom and took another look at myself in the mirror. This time, my dark gray fur looked a bit shiner and now I was wearing my wolf harness over my gray tunic and red shorts. Satisfied with my appearance, I too ran out of my house and towards the training fields. It was a short run and I soon fell into muster formation with the rest of my class, standing next to Wydrum and Worriz, another friend of mine in the pack and the most likely wolf to take over after our current, aging tribe leader kicks the bucket. Honestly, I can see Worriz taking over. He can be a hothead but at least he knows when to actually stop and think.
Unlike some wolf I know… I thought, my eyes looking towards an all black wolf named Willix who was in formation a few spaces ahead of me.
"Running a little late, aren't we Worlux?" Worriz joked quietly next to me while we all continued to look forward. "Won't become head of the pack acting like that man."
"Becoming head of the pack is your thing Worriz, I'm not gonna fight you for that spot." I joked as we both laughed a little. "Y'all know I'm not the leading type."
"Not with that attitude." Worriz stated.
"Guys, they're coming." Wydrum warned us, causing us to save over conversation for later.
"WOLVES! ATTENTION!" Our drill instructor yelled out on an elevated platform ahead of everyone, causing the large group of us to straighten up further and focus our attention to the front. Giving once over glance around the formation and finding it acceptable, the instructor nodded. "AT EASE!"
With that command, everyone got into a resting, standing position with their arms behind their backs. Once done, we all waited for our next command. This is how it was day in and day out for those looking to be soldiers. While killing would never sit right with me, especially for stupid reasons, getting stronger and looking out for my friends and family is what I hoped to get out of this.
That's just Wydrum and me wanting that though. I'm sure the other teens in this group are in it for other things… I thought as I scanned around the group again but held formation. I knew full well how bloodthirsty a lot of my peers were, even Worriz told me a bit about his grand ambitions to make the Wolves the dominant force in Chima. With the Lions power over everyone else though, I doubt he'll be able to accomplish it, and that was just fine with me.
"Lines E and C, fall out to the sparring field! Instructor Waks will be waiting for you there. Everyone else, wait until further instructions!" My line, E, quickly hustled over to the sparring zone, which was just a rope in the shape of a circle. The two lines all spread around the circle and stood at attention, waiting for Instructor Waks to issue an order as he stood in the center of the ring. Once all of us were there, he spoke.
"Alright pups, today your lines will be brushing up on your fighting skills!" Waks began, pacing around in front of us. "No weapons, just hands. Use whatever means necessary to take on your opponent. Worlux, Willix, you both are up first!"
I frowned slightly and looked towards my opponent. Willix already had his shit-eating grin on his face as we both entered the ring on opposite sides. Everyone else had taken a seat around the ring.
"You got this Worlux, kick his butt!" Wydrum cheered but quickly quieted down after receiving a look from Waks that made him shudder. The encouragement was still appreciated though.
"Don't worry, after I'm done with this bitch pup, Wydrum comes next." Willix laughed, getting a cheer from other like minded Wolves before they received similar treatment from Waks. "This'll be a stomp."
"Still all talk Willix. You gonna finally back up those words or do I need to make you eat dirt again?" I threatened. This seemed to anger him as he was about to respond but was interrupted by Waks.
"That's enough out of you two! Make ready!" Waks said angrily. It was rare to see him get outwardly angry since his status alone as one of the Wolf Tribe's most decorated warriors caused all grunts and peers to show respect but when he did get angry, wolves knew not to play around anymore. Willix and I quickly shut up and both of us got into a ready, fighting stance. "Begin!"
Willix, now sporting a wild grin, charged forward whilst I prepared to parry and dodge. Despite my threat earlier, I still knew to take him seriously as he could mess someone up if given the chance. He reached me and threw a right hook. I ducked under it and grabbed his arm, much to his shock as I swung him around and launched him towards the edge of the ring in hopes to win by ring out. Willix managed to recover though with a roll and skid while facing my direction. He snarled at me before charging towards me again. He threw two punches at me this time. I dodged one and blocked the other coming on my right side with my right arm. He caught me off guard though by using his right arm to reach over and grab mine. In this brief hold, he brought up his right leg and kicked me hard in my stomach, causing me to grunt in pain and double over a little. I used this to my advantage though as I grabbed his ankle with my free hand before he could get away. I then lifted his leg up and forced us both to fall to the ground, causing him to let go of my arm. I managed to get two hits into his face with my now free arm, his face spitting out blood onto the floor and getting a cheer out of some of the wolves outside the circle. Willix quickly recovered and with a yell, used both of his legs to push me off him. This caused me to fall on my back but I quickly got to one knee before Willix got to me again, this time wrapping his hands around my neck and proceeding to choke me.
"Worlux!" Wydrum yelled in worry.
"Should've fucking kept your mouth shut, bitch pup!" Despite the cruelty and possibility of death, I knew I wasn't gonna get any help. In this place, I either help myself or get killed, dog eat dog and all that. If you couldn't survive on your own then that was on you. But I'm not looking to die just yet, especially not to this asshole. I tumbled onto my back, bringing him down with me in shock. I quickly managed to put my feet on his stomach mid fall and when I was on my back, I kicked upwards with a strained snarl. This forced Willix to let go and get launched over me. I quickly rolled over and got back onto my feet.
Not letting him do that to me again. I thought while coughing and rubbing my neck. I looked towards my opponent to see him getting on a knee. We both were pretty tired, both panting in exhaustion but we both knew one of us had to concede. He spat out a bit of blood from his mouth before I made a motion for him to come at me with my free hand. He got angry again and moved to take a step.
"Enough!" Waks yelled, forcing both of us to stop moving as he pointed a hand in my direction. "Worlux takes this fight by ring out."
"Wha?" Willix questioned before looking back and seeing that his foot had been out of bounds. Too stunned to say anything, he soon heard laughter from some of the wolves in the group, causing him to snarl and look angrily at me. I ignored him though as I fell onto butt to have a breather with my eyes closed.
"Alright, Willix, clear the field. Worlux-."
"Worlux, heads up!" Wydrum suddenly yelled, interrupting Waks. To everyone's surprise, especially mine as I looked up, Willix was charging at me with a knife in his hand, one that he must've had hidden somewhere on him during our fight.
"You got another thing coming if you think I'm going out like that, bitch pup!" Willix yelled, coming up quickly towards me with rage in his eyes. Adrenaline filled me as I quickly got up to defend myself but I got help from an unlikely source. Wydrum had gotten up from his spot and launched himself into Willix's side, knocking the both of them to the ground. Seemingly unhurt by this, Willix snarled and roughly smacked Wydrum in the head, pushing him off of him. Wydrum fell onto his stomach and struggled a bit to get up in pain as he rubbed his head. Willix got up and was now glaring daggers at Wydrum. "The gear-head wants in too, huh? Now you get what's coming to ya!"
With Willix now distracted, I quickly moved in behind him. I grabbed the hand holding the knife, extending it to the side in front of me and surprising him. I then kicked the inside of his leg, forcing him onto a knee.
"What the-!"
"You mess with him, you mess with me Willix! Go down!" I yelled, bringing my other leg up to rest on his shoulder before pulling hard on the arm holding the knife. A sickening crack was heard from his arm, causing him to scream loudly in pain and a few of the wolves began to cheer loudly in excitement. I let go of Willix and in doing so, he clutched his now dislocated shoulder and he grunted in pain before turning his head to me. Before he could do anything else, I gave him a powerful left hook to the face, forcing him to the floor and instantly knocking him out. I stood up in a ready position just in case Willix got back up again. Waks then nonchalantly walked over to Willix's still body and bent down, lifting Willix up by the back of his neck to check his condition.
"Huh, knocked out cold. Nice one Worlux, didn't know you had it in ya." Waks praised, a small cheer resounding from our crowd. I sat down and panted heavily as the adrenaline left me. Waks then pointed at two random wolves. "You two, take Willix to the infirmary and hustle back."
"Bro, you okay?" Wydrum asked concerned, walking up to me and sitting down next to me as those two other wolves picked a still unconscious Willix and carried him over to the infirmary.
"I'm good Wy. Bastard may have caught me off guard but he didn't land a hit on me thanks to you." I stated. "You good? That was a hard hit you took."
"You have no idea… And I told you not to call me Wy." Wydrum stated, annoyed whilst rubbing the side of his face that got hit.
"And I told you to get used to it, Wy." I joked, further annoying him a little as I laughed.
"Nice one Worlux, really showed him who's alpha." Worriz said after walking up to the two of us. "And it looks like you're fighting me next."
"No rest time then? Typical…" I said sarcastically as Worriz helped me back to my feet.
"WOLVES! ATTENTION!" Waks yelled out, forcing everyone to their feet and face him. Upon looking towards him, I took notice of our aging tribe leader, holding himself up on his Wolf club cane, who was smiling towards me.
"Worlux." Our tribe leader said in his grizzled voice. "You adapted pretty well to that attack, a model example of how ruthless a wolf has gotta be to survive in Chima. I wouldn't even have faulted you for killing him if you went that route."
"Th-thanks sir." I said, not all that comfortable with killing even if it was justified.
"As for you…" Our tribe leader started before suddenly lifting up his cane club and smacking Wydrum, bringing him to the floor and surprising me in anger.
"Don't do it Worlux, he's gotta take it…" Worriz told me, seeing me about to move whilst we both were at attention. I grit my teeth as I stood still.
"That was a crap display of fighting. Not only did you interrupt the fight but you got your ass beat in one move and accomplished nothing. It's pathetic." The tribe leader then pressed the end of his cane down on the back of Wydrum's head, forcing him back onto the dirt floor as he was just about to lift himself up. "It honestly would've been better if Willix had just killed you."
"Hey!" I yelled, breaking from attention and going up to him. Worriz had facepalmed whilst the tribe leader looked at me with disinterest and disappointment. "If it wasn't for Wydrum, Willix would've gotten the jump on me!"
"Worlux…you're stepping out of line, especially since I just praised you." The tribe leader warned darkly. "Watch your tone, boy."
"Worlux, it's fine." Wydrum tried to stop me, trying to sit up again but was immediately pushed down to the dirt by the tribe leader again with little effort.
"I know I am sir, but this is messed up. Wydrum is just as good of a wolf as the rest of us. He's the best mechanic we got! He fixed half of the messes we caused! And he's just as much responsible for Willix's take down as I was so what you're doing to him is out of line!" I yelled. There was a silence throughout the group, a tense one. Everyone was looking at me in shock, even a few other leaders and trainees from outside our group were looking on. The tribe leader glared hard at me, even one of his eyes was twitching. My heart was racing and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous but I stood my ground with no regrets.
"You know what? I commend you for standing up for your fellow wolf like that. Not sure if it was out of bravery or just plain stupidity." The tribe leader started, making me more nervous with his somewhat calm and respectful tone. "And you're right, it was out of line of me to do this to him."
With speed that would be shocking for a wolf his age to have, the tribe leader suddenly backhanded me hard in the face. The force had brought me down to the floor on my hands and knees and before I could get back up, I was hit hard in the back of my head by his cane handle. I was dizzy and disoriented from the hit and struggled to get my bearings, cursing under my breath.
"So now you and Wydrum get to take part in a personal training regiment with me. Consider this me being merciful." The tribe leader stated, getting a collective wince from me and the rest of the group, all knowing full well about the tribe leader's infamous solo training.
"At least he knows my name." Wydrum joked a little in pain, getting a strained laugh out of me before I was pushed in the dirt. "Sorry…"
"100 push ups to start with the both of you. Everyone else, stand at attention and watch until I say you all can move on. Waks, add some needed weight to Worlux, this task seems too easy for him." The tribe leader ordered. Waks complied and quickly walked up to me, pressing a foot onto my back and pushing down hard, something similar happening to Wydrum. I struggled to keep myself up as I proceeded with the punishment. As I did this, a thought rushed into my mind.
Something tells me this is going to be a long day.
[Hope you all enjoyed this momentous comeback, the next chapter should be out soon. Anyway, onto the outro
