"Ken, dinners ready!"

"Coming mom!"

It was a peaceful morning in the city as a young family was enjoying their Saturday morning.

The Kokkotsu family was adjusting to their new life as Jin Kokkotsu, the husband and father, had recently got a job a month ago in the city moving them from their old neighborhood.

Anne Kokkotsu, the current housewife, was enjoying her day off from school. Teaching 4 year olds gets exhausting, especially ones just manifesting quirks, not to mention the unnecessary pressure from parents.

Though she it can get tiring, she did happily, for the kids, there was one little boy whos parents she hadn't met, his mother was in the hospital and his father was either too busy or didn't care about pta meetings, it was concerning when the boy disappeared for a few days and came back with a patch over his left eye, but the principal denied having an investigation held out of fear of losing funding from the #2 hero Endeavor, it was his son after all.

Ken hadn't gotten the chance to start school yet, it was a month after his 4th birthday when his father received the job offer. Before getting the chance to finish the application process, they had to move to a completely new area.

Ken walked downstairs to the table, his father reading the newspaper while sipping his morning coffee, something in the paper about the symbol of peace all might blah blah blah boring adult stuff.

Ken loved heroes, how they always showed up at the right time, whenever someone needed them, they were there, especially a certain number one, with a signature catchphrase, the symbol of peace, All Might.

THE symbol of peace, with a three word catch phrase he can use to easily calm down anyone in danger, all might didn't do it for the fame or the glory, he did it for the people, and that's something caKenn was inspired by.

His mom was washing dishes with her hair tied up and an apron around her.

"Ken, you start school soon, are you excited?" she asked with a smile on her face.

"But mom, you always come home so tired. Is it really fun?" he looked at her with pity, from the things he'd heard, school doesn't seem all that great.

"It's not thaaaat bad," she said convincingly, "plus we could spend the whole day together."

He wasn't convinced, school wasn't a place he thought he could enjoy, but he was willing to give his mom a chance.

A Month Later

"Mooooom, hurry up," Ken yelled from the bottom of the stairs waiting on his mom for his first day of school.

Are all moms like this or is it just mine? He thought as his mom tripped down the stairs, her purse in one hand, and a heel that should be on her foot in the other.

She slammed face first into the base of the stair rail, her forehead causing it to snap.

Her quirk Hard Head allows her to increase the density of her skull, which is quite useful considering how much of a clutz she can be.

Her husband's quirk, Blood flow, allows him to manipulate how much blood goes to where in his body, using this, he increases the blood flow to his brain, giving him a big advantage when it comes to brain power, causing him to be quite the executive at any company he works at, especially the one he currently works at, the Endeavor Agency.

Due to his advanced intellect, he kept a spare rail in the garage, this wasn't the first time this happened, and it unfortunately wouldn't be the last.

Ken and Anne walked hand in hand down the road to the bus, getting on and off at their stop, walking down the road passing their fathers workplace on the way.

Ken stared up the tall building, seeing many meetings being held on different floors, he could have sworn he saw his father leading one of them.

They continued walking and made it to a very prestigious looking school with a large gate, both parent, teacher and student needed identification to get in.

Normally, many wouldn't be able to afford to send their kid to such a school, however they provided a discount to those with pro heroe parents and some agencies provided bonuses that allowed your child to attend for free.

Due to his fathers position in the agency, Ken was able to attend free of charge, and his mother was granted a position as a homeroom teacher.

They reached the completely empty class and Ken began to draw whilst his mother set up the classroom.

30 minutes passed and a boy walked in.

His hair was 2 different colors, one on each side, red on left and white on his right.

Still having a patch covering his eye.

"Good morning SHoto, please have a seat." She gestured to the table where Ken sat.

"This is my son, Ken, I hope you two get along, he'll be your classmate as of today."

Placing her hand on his back, she walked the boy over to the table and pulled out a chair.

Ken looked at his mom, who was frantically signaling for NOT to mention the boy's eye, he did it anyway.

"So uh, what's up with the bandage?" He asked innocently.

The boy looked into Ken's eyes, a boy he's never seen in this school before, seeing a mix of curiosity and the genuine look of concern he sees on Miss Kokotsu's face when she thinks he isn't looking.

"It's the price of being my fathers son," He said with a monotone voice and a dead expression on his face.

"Cool, wanna draw?" Ken asked while trying to hand Shoto a crayon.

Shoto is a quiet kid, before he was a kind kid, gentle in nature and happy to play, but ever since a week ago, when he showed up with a scar, he appeared dead inside.

He distanced himself from the class, not willing to let anyone get too close, Except Miss Kokotsu.

She always stayed with him after class while he waited for his mother to pick him up, only now it was a driver endeavor hired after his wife's mental breakdown.

No one dared to approach Shoto, he became an outcast, going from an innocent joy, to a depressing weird kid.

However this boy, Ken, he recalled, didn't care about any of that, didn't care about his past and even didn't seem to care about his eyepatch, which was all he seemed to be known for now.

This boy, handing him a crayon, in a place he felt comfort, thanks to his dear teacher, that he's begun to see as a second mother, as his own was no longer home as well as seeming to hate him.

Tears began streaming down his face.

Why?

He began to wonder.

It's just a crayon?

He looked around the classroom, realizing the warmth it held, the cleanliness of the room, it seemed to, glow.

The tears began falling faster, he opened his mouth but he was unable to form words, instead only being able to let out a wail.

Love

He felt love, the classroom seemed to be a place where he didn't have to worry, his life with his mother was great before, but he always had to deal with his father, and because of that, now his mother hated him, he had no one, his siblings distanced themselves because he was the the fathers pride and joy.

Day after day, he suffered the price for the curse of being Endeavor's son, but not here.

Here in this classroom, he didn't have to have any worries, Miss Koketsu was so nice, and her son was just like her, a little rough around the edges, but someone he would hope to call a friend nonetheless.

The kids may have begun to treat him differently, but that was his own fault he realized.

He continued to cry as he felt enveloped by a warm hug, a hug he'd cherish for the rest of his life.

The week continued, Ken became quite popular among the students, he took after his mother in that aspect, as well as doing quite well in school, taking after his father.

Shoto Todoroki began to open up again, still emotionally damaged, but healing.

…..

The Kokotsu family had just finished a lovely meal and were off to bed. Ken was in his pajamas, brushing his teeth in front of the mirror, thinking about his dad telling him something about brushing his teeth for 5 minutes to remove all the plag? Plack? Pla-

His thoughts interrupted from the sound of glass shattering downstairs.

Probably just mom dropping a plate again, she does that at least once a week

The bathroom was right down the hall from his parents, if both doors were open, he and his parents could see each other, which they did.

How is mom downstairs breaking a plate and watching tv at the same…..time?

His mom looked at him in horror, turning to her husband.

He leapt out the bed, moving blood to his legs, dashed down the hallways to pick up Ken and take him back to the room.

Jin placed Ken next to Anne as he donned some brass knuckles he received as a gift from his late father-in-law.

"Honey I'll be back soon, call the heroes," he said with a comforting smile on his face hoping to ease his family's worries.

Anne, tears beginning to fill her eyes, told her husband with a smile on her face, "Be safe dear."

Ken began panicking, "where's dad going? Why aren't we all going to check, why does he need those things on his hands? Dad? Don't go, stay here where it's safe?" He began reaching his arm out to his father, who gave him a kiss on the forehead and stepped out of the room.

Anne picked up Ken and went to the closet, grabbing her phone on the way.

She dialed the hero emergency hotline, telling them there was a break in, giving them the address and waiting for a response.

Ken was only able to hear one things he gripped his moms waist, "please hold tight, the heroes are coming."

The heroes are coming! Everything is going to be ok because the heroes are coming!

His mom held him close, both embracing each other with all their strength, preparing to hear something downstairs.

"THE HEROES ARE ON THE WAY, GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE" They heard Jin Kokotsu declare from the bottom of the stairs.

Jin Kokotsu

What the hell was the sound

Jin thought as he stepped down the stairs cautiously.

Please please please just be a raccoon He pleaded, just wanting there to be nothing to put his family at risk.

There was silence, but not usual silence, the only thing he heard was his heart pounding as if it wanted to come out his chest.

He quickly calmed himself, using his blood to slow his heart rate.

He started sending it to his brain and eyes, becoming much more alert of his surroundings, able to analyze everything within his field of vision.

He noticed a figure standing completely still in the shadows, face covered by a mask, desperately standing still praying to not be noticed.

Jin dashed forward, stoppin front of the man, placing his left foot forward and jerking his right arm back like he was stretching a rubber band in his chest, finally reaching the edge, he snapped back, rotating his hips and solidifying his resolve to kill anything that endangers his family.

His fist connected with the man's temple, his knuckle hitting the man's head like a hammer coming down on a mouse, the man's head exploded into a mess on the wall.

Huff huff huff

Jin began panting as the blood began dispersing evenly throughout his body, he felt light headed from putting everything he had into that punch.

He looked over at the wall, seeing the mess, then looked to the ground at what was left of the man, his body was…. melting?

Jin quickly turned on the lights to see both the man's body and the mess of his head on the wall began melting into a gray tar.

He heard a creak on the wooden floor, jolting his head around, seeing another man, looking identical to the first, swing a metal bat at his head.

Swoosh

Jin heard the sound of the bat from below as it ripped through the air of where his head would have been had he not ducked.

His fist came up in the uppercut, striking the man dead in his jaw and knocking him back.

The man fell to the ground dropping the bat and looking up to see a furious Jin Kokotsu preparing to deal a finishing blow.

Suddenly, a forearm stopped his blow, he looked at that man in shock, seeing a clone emerge from his back to block, then promptly melt from the attack.

"I'm sorry, it was supposed to just be an in-and-out job, I'm sorry I'm so sorry- I'LL KILL YOU!"

Jin looked at the man confused, the man was speaking as if shifting between people, nonetheless he jumped back, seeing a pool of the tar begin to rage from beneath the robber.

"PLEASE JUST LET ME GOOO-ILL FUCKING KILL YOUU." The man both begged and threatened switching personalities at the drop of a hat.

Multiple clones emerged from the man, all charging at Jin.

He dodged blows left and right up and down, reminiscing about days back in high school, back when he was still a bully.

His fist connected with each of them, causing them to melt one after the other, but the masked man kept pushing out clones.

After 3 minutes, the intruder saw the man finally reach him, bringing his arms up to cover his face.

"Please, Im sorry, just let me go-I FUCKING DARE YOU!" the man once again begged and taunted.

A clone came out from hiding, grabbing the discarded bat from earlier, bringing it up preparing to crack the back of Jin's skull.

"WAIT NO DONT-FUCKING KILL THAT BASTARD" The man yelled.

Jin confused, turned around, seeing a bat swung at, bringing his arm up to protect himself from the hi-

CLINK

The metal bat connected with a hard surface, but instead of shattering it, it bounced back, as if it was being slapped on concrete.

Jin opened his eyes slowly, until they snapped open from both shock and horror.

"Didn't I tell you to be safe dear, you look like a mess," Anne joked as her forehead turned from a strong white back to its original skin color.

"Why are you here, what about ken? Honey please run, it's not safe." Jin pleaded with his wife, tears beginning to form.

"No." she said, crossing her arms and turning her head like a brat.

"Honey, please, I know you're stubborn but now is not the time, this is serious." Jin pleaded.

"Would I be your wife if I gave up so easily?" She teased her husband in a situation involving the safety of their family.

"You're so damn hard headed." Jin sighed.

"Damn straight." She exclaimed proudly.

"Does that mean I can leave now-you people make me sick!" He interrupted their moment, switching personalities like a sputtering flame once again.

"Please, get out of our ho-" Jin started before he noticed the man started…..bubbling?

The Kokotsu couple watched as the man on their floor started bubbling with tar, looking like he was out of control, in pain even.

"Please, I'm sorry, run-IM GONNA SLAUGHTER YOU AND YOUR WHOOOOOOORE." The man choked out, literally foaming out the mouth as his eyes began to roll back.

His quirk begins to rampage spitting out clones, filling the hallway and surrounding the couple.

"Remember back in school, when you used to fight for me." Jin smirked at his wife.

"Of course my dear how could i forget the moment you fell for me," she teased

He adjusted into a stance and handed her one of his brass knuckles.

"Care to do it one more time?" He asked sincerely.

"I'll do it cause i want to not cause you asked." She said in an annoyed voice while sticking out her tongue.

"A brat till the end huh?" He sighed.

"Who said this is the end, dear?" She said confidently.

"Damn straight my love." Jin said with a smile on his face.

"SHUT UUUUP." a clone from the small army shouted.

The charged, taking turns jumping into the small clearing in the house created by the couple.

Jin threw calculated blows, taking out a clone with a single strike, then switching places with his wife, wordlessly, allowing her to block any attacks with her head, then following up with her own attack.

They continued their fight, exhausted but winning, they were taking out the clones, protecting each other as well as fighting for each other.

They just don't stop, Jin thought.

He looked at the original, hunched over grabbing his face, bawling.

"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE." He shouted clearly for the man to hear.

The man looked at him, nodding in agreement, but he couldn't just leave them like this.

He grabbed 2 clones and pulled them out of the house. He wanted to do more but he couldn't.

Wait a sec, they mentioned a boy, their son perhaps? And the woman was upstairs for a while, surely they called the heroes already, where the hell are they?

He thought as he ran, wondering what else he could do, it was his fault for this situation.

Suddenly, one of the clones punched him in the back of the head.

The man fell to the ground, both clones escaping and running away.

Screw it He thought as he pulled out his phone and dialed the heroes to report the the location of the house, they operator tried to talk to him, to gather more information, until suddenly, the screen cut to a screen

Out of Minutes

"Shit." He said out loud as his last words before he passed out.

…..

Back at the house, Jin and Anne continued their battle, finally seeing the army dwindle, until there was one left.

Anne delivered the final blow, then turning around and immediately jumping on her husband out of joy, he caught her as they spun.

"Let's go get Ken and clean up this house." Anne suggested.

"That's the best idea I've heard all night." Jin said as he squeezed her tighter.

He opened his eyes to see a clone stepping from behind the stairwell, holding a familiar bat that the couple didn't think they'd have to deal with again.

The clone swung toward Anne's head who was completely unaware.

Jin spun them around, taking the blow towards the back of his head for his wife, dropping to the floor instantly.

Jin dropped on his back, Anne still on top of him.

"NOOOOO!" She screamed as she grabbed his head, looking at his eyes, which appear to have no light left in them.

CLINK

Another blow struck her in the head, her quirk unable to shield her from the full impact.

She fell on her side, the man standing over her.

Instead of aiming for her head, he aimed for everywhere else.

Arms, legs, ribs, shoulder, kneecaps, shins.

Her mangled body sat there continuously struck by the man in his unending assault.

SHIK

The man looked down, seeing a white blade piercing his stomach, cursing as he began to melt, leaving Ken all alone, dropping down and hugging the corpses of his family.

BEEP

WEEWOO WEEWOO

Finally he thought, as he passed out from using his quirk for the very first time.
