Shepard and Thane were both awakened by Garrus and Tali banging on their door, Thane looked over at the hologram clock. It was 2 am ship time. "The hell?" Shepard groans as she rolls out of bed. Her door was locked, Edi must have tried to stop them both.
"Shepard!" Garrus called as he hit the door. Thane didn't even have a chance to get a shirt on before Shepard had opened the door.
"Siha-" it was too late. Tali and Garrus had rushed in. Shepard stood with weak opened eyes in nothing more than Thane's shirt and Thane had some boxers on and was completely shirtless. Garrus quickly came to an abrupt stop as he covered his eyes, Tali just started giggling as couldn't stop staring at Thane's chest.
"Jesus!" Shepard finally realized. She caught the shorts Thane threw as he put his jacket over himself and zipped it up. "The hell are you two doing here at this time!" She scolded them both. Garrus finally dropped his hand, though not happy to see them both and then the state of the bed. "We were sleeping!" Shepard shouted as she went to her couch, near reading Garrus' mind.
They were in fact sleeping, though that didn't mean they didn't have sex before that. Thane smiled as the memory nearly swallowed him. He sat on the end of the bed, covering himself with the duvet.
"Sorry to wake you both, but you need to see this," Tali finally speaks as she passes the datapad to Shepard. She sits down next to her whilst Garrus leans against the archway at the bottom of the stairs. He could smell their night of fun and it was irritating his vocal codes, he and Thane were nearly arguing with their subvocals.
"Would you two stop it!" Shepard shouted, she could see both their throats vibrating. "Garrus leave if this smell is too much for you, or pinch your damn nose!" Tali snickered behind her mask, even Thane smiled. Garrus only shook his head and held his breath instead.
Shepard finally looked down at the datapad, she read the first few lines and nearly had a heart attack. "Shit," she spat, getting up to pace the room.
"Siha?" Thane asked with concern, he could see her concern and fear as she stalked up and down in front of him. "What is the matter?" He held his hand out and caught her forearm, making her stop in front of him. She stood between his legs as she passed him the datapad.
On the front was a picture of him and her kissing in public, somehow someone got the picture. how Thane didn't sense it was beyond him. The title was in a thick yellow font pinned 'The Great Commander Shepard and Her Drell Lover'. "How..." was all he could say. Shepard snatched it from him.
"That bitch I punched the other night, dammit. I knew this would happen. They've even given tips on how to make a relationship successful with Drell and about their... sexual tendencies." She threw the datapad into the wall, it smashed and sparked as it fell by Tali's feet. "I will kill her," she spat.
Thane got up and wrapped his arm around her waist, holding her tightly. "Calm down, Siha. We will figure this out. I am sure this will not become too out of hand, we are together after all."
"You don't understand-" she was cut off when her terminal lit up with a priority call from Hackett. She looked down at what little she was wearing, not even caring it was the early hours anyway. She answered the call. "Sir..."
"Commander, what the hell has happened?" Hackett's boomed voice filled the room. "Do you understand what this has done for the Alliance? The Illuminated Primacy is called for questions to be answered!"
Thane came closer, standing at the bottom of the stairs. He didn't understand why the Protheans would care much about his love life. "Sir," Shepard starts. "I am with this Drell, yes and I care for him. My relationships are no one's business."
"It is when they are saying that Drell is the greatest assassin known to all!" Hackett shouted. That was why then. Thane realized the whole Hanar population knew of him and his great skills, there were rumours and some could put together on who he was. But Thane always had a target on his back, the rumours followed him all the time. "His own son works for Citadel Security, correct?"
Kolyat's name being spoken was enough for him to charge over. He came into view, locking eyes with the aged Alliance soldier who had a distinctive scar down his right eye and cheek. "What does this have to do with my son?!" he commands as a quick question.
Hackett studied him, eyeing his choice of clothing and then comparing it to Shepard's. She really was this alien. "Some are after him! We are trying to contact Commander Bailey, but it's early hours and he would be off shift. You need to find your son and quickly!" Thane looked at Shepard, she pushed him towards their bed to grab his things.
"Sir, we need to fix this!" Shepard knew many would be upset if she ever dated an alien. Commander Shepard is the face of humanity, it only made sense she would data one of her own kind. Like Kaidan, but she didn't like him like that. He was a friend, nothing more.
"You better, Commander. The brass wants to speak to you, you must come to Earth!" Shepard looked at Garrus, their own mission was too important for all this.
"No," she simply says. Hackett almost gasps at her. "I am not with the Alliance anymore, sir. I have my own mission that takes priority." He shakes his head at her words, not happy with her choice to ignore his order.
"Please, Shepard. As a favour for me, you need to clear your name and the names of your crew if you care for them." Shepard couldn't answer, she only nodded and ended the call. She felt her biotics rage through her as she leaned against the chair. Her fist curled as she screamed and punched the wall, leaving a huge hole in it as the blue around her fist cooled down.
"Siha, please," Thane called as he returned, now dressed. "I will bring Kolyat back to the ship and we will go to Earth if we have to."
Shepard felt his arm and hand fall on her cheek, the tears rolling down and into his hand. "I won't lose you," she said with a strong tone.
He kisses her forehead, "you won't, neither will I lose you. I know where he is, I will not belong." She nods as he peaks her lips and leaves the room.
"Come on, Shepard," Garrus says as he passes her some better-suited clothes. "You need a strong drink." She nods as she takes the clothes and goes to her bathroom. Tali looks at Garrus as he watches her shut the door.
"Do you think this was the right decision?" she asks, now wondering if they should have waited until the next morning.
"Either we were going to wake them up or Hackett would have. At least we pre-warned her. We will work this out for them both," he says, not sounding confident at all.
