Chapter 4: Monstrous arguments

For once in a long time, she got sleep proper. No further layers, no dreams, nothing but just moments of darkness and the short sensation of time passing.

The flight didn't take as long as the last one, but Marius flew slow and steady, not having to rush things or make quick escape. He re-laid his slow approach to command "as to not disturb the package" which they let slide and everyone got to have a bit of a chill flight, to truly calm down from it all.

Mark closed his eyes and leaned back in his seat to rest, not sleeping but just taking a breather. Ilene joined him, leaning on his shoulder while they were waiting, enjoying the brief peace.

With little interference, they arrived at the outpost at roughly 6 in the morning. Maddie being so fast asleep, leaning over the baby and cuddling up to it, that she barely noticed when they landed.

People getting ready and called over to each other. Mark got up, Ilene had almost fallen asleep as well now, rubbing her temple. He went over to Madison carefully, squatting down and patting her on the shoulder.

"Five more minutes." She mumbled, the same way she would when he had woken her up to get ready for morning hikes.
"Come on honey, we are here."
For a second she had forgotten where she was thinking she had fallen asleep in her bed, but she was far away from that right now.

Slowly getting up, she rubbed her still closed eyes, pressing into them a little bit. Her stomach felt a little funny. What the cause she could only guess. Maybe it was the flight, the stress or the late fast food. Whatever it was, she wanted to just rest a bit more, leaning back in her seat, eyes still closed.

From the commotion going on the young titan awakened as well, first moving its head up it made a big yawn. Slowly blinking it looked around and up to its guardian.

Maddie felt the movement, she squinted with her eyes and petted it, slow strokes and scratched at the back of the head. The yawn of the hatchling was infectious and caused her to yawn as well.

"So what is this place exactly, you never elaborated much on it."
"You'll see," Mark answered her, with a slight but reassuring smile.

Everyone else now was getting up, the sound of the machine engine was slowing done, and Maddie could see the first rays of sunlight peeking through the windows.
The baby Godzilla shook itself, slowly looking at the other passengers and what they were doing, but not getting up yet. It and Maddie were still very tired and would likely go back to sleep right after all of this.

2 guards had gotten up, they had joined the flight right before they took off. Sitting closer to the ramp, one had sat down on the seat the Junior Godzilla bit into, realizing that only now and wondering where it went.

"Stun mode on?"
"Yes."
They muttered to each other, Madison overhearing their conversation, hearing other calls that seemed to come from the outpost
"Why would they put it to stun… I guess it's just for precaution, but he's not gonna do anything."

It made her a bit unsure, some of the nervosity of her came back and put her on guard. The infant noticed this, looking up at her worried. She gave a fake smile, petting it again to give it the assurance everything was okay.

"Alright, everyone, get ready."
One of the guards raised his voice, Ilene and Mark turned away from their small conversation they were having.

"Well then, let's get up little guy."
Carefully she moved its head up and to the side, getting up first. It followed her, by moving from the seats and down at the floor, in a 4-legged crawling position at first, grazing the legs of one of the guards behind it, causing them to flinch and aim their weapon at it immediately.

Madison looked at him with a shock and confusion but also stern expression, with Mark and Ilene also looking a bit confused.
"Hey, he's just getting up, everything's fine."
All she got as answer was a slightly demeaning nod.

"What the hell is their problem."
She wondered.

Finally, the baby got back up on two legs, still walking in a slightly hunched position, shaking its head and yawning again.
Mark looked at it, it still was so weird to witness a newborn titan like this, non the less one from a species he once had a personal vendetta with.

Generally, all of this was still weird, some things he just had gotten used to, somewhat at least.
With the opening whirring sound of the ramp going down the baby turned its attention towards it, Maddie holding it at the back to not have it run off immediately. The soft orange light of the rising sun let its rays go inside the dimly lit machine.
The smell of fresh, coastal air with its signature scent came around them, a chilly wind going around.

The two guards walked outside, clearing up things ahead. Their landing spot was on a short but wide pier, that connected to what looked like a small harbour area, with a view other transport vehicles and shipments being there. A bit further behind there seemed to be a big structure that Madison couldn't fully make out yet, and something else, much further to the side from which a not pleasant diesel like smell was coming from.

Ahead of them was another group waiting, an escort so to speak. They looked like G-Team, but more like one of those smaller subsections that Barnes once talked about with her.
With was what looked to be the stationed scientist. Her hair was a black ponytail, wearing a white cloak, jeans and wearing some sort of welding glasses looking thing on her head.

Currently she was going over some notes on a pad, similar to how Ilene would a lot of the time, before turning to the two guards that were approaching her.

"Who is that?" Maddie wondered.
"I think that's Dr. Gojo." Mark muttered.
A brilliant young scientist that very recently came to Monarch, having an expertise and interest in titan biology. More he didn't know off hand, with everything going on at this point he had little time to get a hold of new people joining or teaching them. Director Guilliman had pulled him away from that position, saying he was too soft on the new recruits and needed elsewhere. Adding to much of Marks more recent frustration with him and the others.

She spoke with the two for a bit. Hard to tell for Maddie what they could be talking about with all the sounds. There was some words back and forth before she send them away shaking her head. She approached them now, going up till the ramp of the Osprey.

"Dr. Russell, Dr. Chen, if you'd please follow me to the holding facility. Dr. Tat is currently busy so I'm holding over direction over the facility."
Mark nodded, looking over at Maddie, she seemed very tired at this point.
"You sure you can handle him?"
"Yeah we'll be fine," giving it a pet under the chin.

Mark and Ilene walked forward first, waiting a bit for Madison and hatchling to join them, who she had to give the courage to do get out by goading it outside.

Leading it out, it curiously took its steps outside- Looking around it saw the water and ocean around it, combined with strange new environment. Maddie also got a good look at the whole thing.

The pier they had landed upon was connected to a large domelike structure, on top of a building roughly the size of a small stadium she assumed. She looked to the right, there was a sort of refinery factory all over the area, directly connected to the dome. In the very far back of the bay, several kilometres away she could spot some other building, nothing related to this, just a regular civilian pier area.

Yet still, seeing the large refinery, the smells it gave off and the white smoke coming out of its fents made gave her a feeling of uncertainty.

"Mrs Russell.?" Dr Gojo called over to her.
"Oh, yeah sorry. Come on, get over here."
She got the baby away from the water, something it felt very curious about.

They kept following Dr. Gojo, some escort guard next to her, some behind them.

"Why is there a whole factory connected to this thing?"
She asked Mark, but Dr. Gojo cut in whilst they walked into the shadow of the facility.
"It's what powers the whole facility, keeps it warm and running. Eventually this is being planned to build next to the Hollow Earth Exploration facility, but first it had to be tested in a stable environment."
"Great have one of these dump its waste there…" she grumbled, quietly, but unfortunately not quietly enough apparently for Gojo not to hear.

"I can assure that the partner who owns the refinery promised us that little waste is being produced, it recycles materials which might give it an odd smell out here but won't do anything more than that."
"Well if you say so…"

Madison wasn't sure what to think of her. She spoke genuinely, but also very direct and pragmatic. Maybe almost a bit cold.

They arrived at a front gate of the facility, which was opened but had a semi-clear plastic strip curtains separating the outside. They entered, a dimly lit loading an entrance area was what they were greeted by, a hallway further down went from the middle of the room to the left seemed to be office and administrative rooms that followed that hallway, with an opening hole where someone sat, reading a newspaper. On the right was a red door, fire exit it seemed.

Dr. Gojo went up to the person who sat behind the glass window, reaching a red key card through the terminals opening. The person looked up, quietly took the card, put it into a registry slot, typing something into the computer next to them, making a high-pitched tone, before pulling it out and giving it back to Dr. Gojo. No words spoken.

"This way please," she said, walking down the hallway. The group followed, having a short moment of hesitation from the baby before entering these strange looking corridors. Firs they went ahead, with the escorts behind them. A strange claustrophobic feeling came over Maddie, with the hatchlings size giving her less space to move around, always being at its side. It also seemed not feel very comfortable. Standing either very low or moving on all fours. It tried to get scent and smell of the surrounding ground and items like trashcans, something Maddie had to pull it away from.

Arriving at the end of the tight and long hallway it split into two more, one to the left and one to the right, with the one of the left expanding around a corner. "We'll be going left, the rest of the group please go to the assigned stations."
Some grumbling from one of the escorts was all the rebuttal to that.
Mark, Ilene, Maddie and hatchling kept following Gojo on the left, while all the guards went to the right.

With all the soldier gone and the room opening up again, the infant titan seemed to finally get more a bit more comfortable, steadily walking around on all two's whilst clinging to its imprinted guardian.

They took another hallway down to the right, Madison feeling like it'd almost get easy to get lost.
Finally they arrived at their goal. A decently spacious room with a big metal door that could be wrapped up and down in the middle, control panels on the left and right with glass windows in front of them, a glass door to the far right. Through the window Madison could see a lot of greenery. Full on trees and other ancient plants.

Dr. Gojo went over to the left control panel opening it up with a yellow key card, making the metal door started opening slowly, letting the more humid warm air of the biodome enter the much cooler climatized room.

"It's kept under somewhat similar conditions as the Hollow Earth jungle areas documented on the last expedition. Let us hope this kind of climate is appropriate for it."
"I think it should be," Madison said quietly, slowly approaching the habitat area together with the baby Godzilla.
It felt very similar to back then, she crouched down, touching some of the dirt and mulch placed there, to not just assure herself but also make the infant familiar with it, showing that it was a save place. Curiously it leaned down and smelled from her hand, before looking up again into the artificial jungle.

Maddie could sense that it felt naturally drawn towards this environment, and so was she. This would be a save place for it for now. It entered first, needing no bit of encouragement this time around, and started exploring, Madison followed close behind, not before turning back to Mark.

"It's fine if you want to take a break or something, I can handle this alone."
"Alright," Mark nodded, inclined to agree with his daughter, not much could happen anymore, or at least he thought.
"I'll leave the glass door unlocked," Gojo said, with Maddie giving the young scientist a tired thumbs up and yawning while following the hatchling further into the dome.

Before they were just about to leave, ready heading for the break room, Dr. Gojo got called on her phone. She pulled it out, an old folding Nokia she had since she was younger. Mark couldn't fail but notice that her facial expression changed to a much more worried one as she looked at who was calling her. Nervously she answered and talked with someone, only responding in short yes and no's before a final hasty yes she folded the phone back together and turned to Mark.

"Dr. Russell, you and Dr. Chen- and I, you- we, need to attend a- a meeting." Barely time to explain herself she ran back over to Maddie inside the dome.

"Wait!" looked back at her, the young scientist was trying to hand her over a walkie talkie looking thing from her other pocket. Maddie felt slightly confused at what was all going on here, but she was feeling too tired to really think about it now.
"If anything happens, you can call me there on number 993."
Maddie nodded and put it in her pocket, the hatchling right behind her inspect what that strange object was that its guardian received from the other person.

"Good, and also the metal gate over there," she pointed to left of the dome, behind some bushes and trees, "it leads to the outside, don't touch that one."
"Understood…" Madison said quietly, noticing the distress in Azusa's voice.
"Alright thank you," and as quickly as she could ran back to Mark and Ilene, quickly closing the metal door behind her.

"Not sure what to think of that…" yawning again broke up her thought, some rest herself right now would be just right.

The hatchling made a chirp sound to her, having moved somewhere further in the back of the dome. She followed its sounds and trail, the only other thing she could hear here was slight rustling of leaves and the sound of air ventilations quietly echoing through background, making the inside of the dome warm but keeping it from overreaching a certain point of humidity.
She could feel the dead leaves and bark crunch beneath her feet while she was following a path through the light foliage that as planted here.

A mix old and new plants, big ferns mixed with cycads, broken up with areas of lady finger palms, monstera, on the ground grew sword fern and ceriman. Going around a medium sized kapok tree, that still almost reached the top of the glass covering. Most other trees seemed to be of the same species, just different heights. After going behind a wall of fan palms, there was an area filled with hay, shaped partially like a nest.

The baby was inside of it, rolling around and grabbing pieces with its mouth, throwing them around proudly. Maddie smiled climbed inside the nest, sitting down, leaning on the walls of hay. A slight itching sensation she felt as a view hardened pieces poked into her suit, but the combined mass of the hay served well as a cushion to lean against.

For a minute or so Maddie simply watched the hatchling play around in the hay, safely exploring this new thing it found. After a little while however it had tired itself out.
With a big yaw and stretch it lied down next to her, the hay becoming its bed. It cuddled up to her, its head resting to her left. This would be their nest for the time being.

Right now she was thinking again, thinking about what to actually name him. There were many names that came to her mind, many she wasn't sure about. After an old pet maybe? No this wouldn't fit to her she felt. Perhaps an old friend, one that cared a lot about Godzilla and the titans.

As the tiredness was getting to her, she lied down next to it, kept looking and petting the hatchlings head. While getting sucked back into dreams, eyes barely open anymore she murmured to herself. "I'll name you I-…Ijiro…"

8:26, Pensacola Super Species Holding Facility (S.S.H.F), Meeting Room Top floor

Mark and Ilene had been sitting in this darkened out room for around an hour. Dr. Gojo had let them wait outside half an hour prior. She seemed very stressed, but he could understand why and would be too if he was in her position.

The only light currently illumination the room was from two windows that were being covered by metal blinds. One at the end of the room and one opposite to where they were sitting. The air was cold and felt very artificial from the constantly running AC, probably pumping in some other hygienic things in it that he could sense at the back of his throat with every breath.

He had stood up at one point, despite Ilenes protest, to investigate where what could be viewed through them. Lifting the blinds, the one in the middle was towards the ocean, overviewing most of the bay area easily. The other window was looking into the habitat itself.

The architecture of the facility was confusing to him, it would take some time to get used to. It was big, not so big it could hold a proper titan, but an average juvenile Skull Crawler could probably have fitted in here without issue. Creatures like that were meant to be studied here. It concerned him a bit since he was able spot Madison from up here.
Not like he hadn't expected this entire facility to be constantly monitoring the pen. Despite this, for now this was the best place to keep the baby until they figured out what to do with it.

Hopefully, he wished, Godzilla would take the little one with him somewhere save and raise it.
However it seemed to have chosen Madison as its surrogate Mother for now, and the deep connection she held with Godzilla, it was highly unlikely it'd go like that. Likely they would have to help raise it. Which for some here at Monarch, raising might as well mean studying, mildly put.
"I'm getting too old for this." He grumbled to himself.

Finally, after an hour of waiting, at exactly 8:30, not any earlier, not any later the entrance doors opened. 4 people entered the room. Dr. Dean Tatepolous, head of the facility and his assistant Dr. Azusa Gojo.
Natalia Verdugo, deputy director, second in command right next to Mark. And finally, the current head of the entire organization: Guilliaman.

While Verdugo wore a regular office outfit and the two scientist their lab coats, with Dean notably having a red checkered shirt underneath, Gulliaman arrived in a almost completely black suit, all except for his very saturated dark blue collar. As always he had glasses on, that often reflected the light making his eye colour hard to spot. He was bald, which Mark wasn't sure by if it was by choice or genetically, non the less it suited him, with his skin being a dark ebon colour.

Not a single word left the directors lips as he entered. Mark was almost tempted to make a joke in his mind about him appearing like the grim reaper, but even just thinking that he felt a bit too intimidated of.

Guilliaman sat down at the end of the table back at the window, crossing his fingers as the remaining member of the group got seated as well. With Dr. Dean and Azusa directly opposite of Mark and Ilene, and Verdugo right next to the director.

For half a minute he just sat there, contemplative into the back of the room, before turning slowly to Mark and Ilene, speaking with a voice as deep yet soft it could be simultaneously.

"I was briefed by Mrs. Verdugo already. But I would like to hear it all from you."

Mark and Ilene looked at each other quickly, wondering who should say what. Ilene would be the better choice, should anything come up with Madison he would jump in.

Nervously she cleared her throat, going over the events of last night, hoping to not make any mistakes with the lack of sleep.

"Last night at the excavation site 67 we did some further investigating on the stranded titan egg, until it suddenly without warning started hatching into infant Titanus Gojira," even the smallest pause Guilliaman would take to ask a question.

"After I presume you invited Mrs. Madison to the site, perhaps causing it to hatch with her extraordinary abilities or the sheer presence of them. Despite Dr. Russells previous protests at having his daughter be more present in Monarchs operation."

Mark was about to cut in, but Ilene was quicker.
"While that is true, given the nature of the egg and her, I personally thought it would help to get her as an external consultant."

The director nodded, finding the statement to be logical. Verdugo wanted to mention something, but he held a hand up to her. Letting Dr. Chen finish her statement.

"Right after it hatched, we were attacked by an unknown new titan, it appeared at first similar to Godzilla but shortly after that, the real one arrived, however he seemed to be acting a lot more aggressive, more violent."

"Despite Mrs. Madison being there, who as far as I have been told shares a special 'bond' with the titan?"
"Y-yes, she doesn't understand it either."
"And then I heard there were some titan signals coming off the base you moved towards after the attack?"

"Correct," Ilene caught her breath briefly, the inquisitive nature of the director put pressure on her. However, she knew Mark would be a bit short fused in anything regarding Madison with that man. Despite him originally wanting to leave that out of the report, Ilene had to mention what happened now.

"We asked Madison about this, according to her she took a nap, communicating with the titans in her sleep and discussed what had happened."
She decided to leave out the detail of the baby causing her a fright, that wouldn't really help with anything.

"Interesting. Just like we are now."
Mark had to admit the truth in that, making an agreeing expression as he nodded.
"What was the solution the titans came to now?"
"Well, they don't really understand it yet, but she mentioned that they were going to be more cautious, all of them."
"Will this impact any operations negatively?"
"We can only guess now, Madison said they were going to stick to their areas more, which might smooth things over for a bit."

"Best to not come too close to any of them and mess around with anything I would suggest. An animal that's in a self-defence situation can be far more dangerous than one that is actively hunting."
"Of course." Guilliaman agreed.

"Director I must protest to entrust this much in the anecdote of a child-"
"I did not blindly trust, I simply asked for the perspective of the people present instead of a handed down report. Gathering any information that is possible on this new situation is important."

"But I believe Dr. Chen and Dr. Russell failed to mention the part where this newborn titan imprinted itself onto Mrs. Russell now."
A simple glance is what he gave Verdugo, before he looked back over to Ilene and Mark, eyebrows raised judgingly.

"I did hear of this as well. Is this statement true?"
"Yes…" Mark said, the air in the room become a bit more tense now.

"I see… that brings us to now I suppose."
The director looked over to the two scientists that ran this facility. Dr. Tatepolous was the first to mention something.

"Uhm, yes of course. We were contacted in the early of hours of the morning that we would have a specimen arrive at our facility. I wasn't present when it arrived, but my assistant assured me everything went over smoothly."

He looked over to Azusa, she looked a bit nervous and shy as well, but came forth non the less.

"Y-yes. The specimen arrived together with Dr. Russell and Dr. Chen under the guidance of Madison and it seems to have acclimated well to the facility."

"I am pleased to hear that. Did you take any tests yet?"

Mark peaked up but Ilene kept him down, best not to cause a scene immediately. "N-No, we didn't have the time for it yet, and given both subjects needed some rest as it could possibly endanger the infants health."

"And also, because I did not give you the permission to go through any tests with the baby or my daughter is that clear?"
Mark said to Dean in stern voice.
"O-Of course."

Dean Tatepolous, one of the scientific members that advocated for running more "tests" on Madison and one that was more than once wrong on a hypothesis on titan behaviour that caused a lot of damage. If Mark was director he would have just thrown him out already, but Guilliaman either was too busy to restructure the work here or saw no moral reasons to do that.

"Yet it seems that Mrs. Madison will spend a significant amount of time at this facility now, despite previous discussions and protests to the contrary."

Ilene was thinking if she should hold Mark back, but no, it was his daughter, he had a say in this and she wanted to protect Madison as well.

"With all respect, just because my daughter has gotten into this situation doesn't mean you now get to run your experiments on her."

"Perhaps Dr. Russell. But the agreement that we came to, in order for her to not go through a standard inspection, on your wishes, was that a child her age should not be present in a Monarch facility or operations like this. Yet on repeated cases she has done the opposite. Either by herself or asked to like you mentioned."

"There was nothing standard about these inspections! You wanted to shove her into a radioactive chamber to see if she could withstand."

"Now, now, that is a bit of a barbaric view of it. There was a mere suggestion to see if her able to exist near titans might be applicable to other radioactive substances. The possibilities of studying that are huge, if we applied to things even beyond Monarch."

"How the hell would you even apply it onto anything else, Maddie would be a special case if anything and can't be applied to other humans. Besides, we learned already since the mass awakening that most titans don't directly emit radiation."
Mark started to become more defensive and aggressive and it was hard for Ilene to hold him back from this, she agreed with all of what he said.

"Some of what you say might be true Dr. Russell, but you did report on mission AB2020 that it seems there once were other humans like here in the past, some sort of Riders?"

"Kam'en Riders yes." Ilene tried to make the situation calmer by interrupting it but it didn't seem to go that way, as Guilliaman was now pushing on Marks buttons a bit more

"Also, perhaps the constant emission of radiation part is true, but more often than not, the titan might secret substances that could spread radiation or are radioactive, like blood and saliva."
The director sighed, leaning forward and looking at Mark, before looking down at Mark, putting his hand tighter together, his glasses reflecting the incoming light to make the eyes and pupils unseeable:

"If we wish to coexist with the titans like my predecessor wanted to, we need to learn everything we can in any way possible. Recreate scenarios and situations to foresee any outcome."

"As if. My point stands, you can't recreate what happened to her nor how a titan behaves like that. No way in hell she'll not be part of any sort of experiments! That is not what we agreed upon!"

Mark raised his voice. If the air in the room wasn't already tensed up it would be fully charged with energy now. Yet even with that, the director remained calm and collected.

"Unfortunately, the agreement we came to before has been broken and needs to be, for the good of the infant titan. It is important to keep the specimen as intact and healthy and most importantly: under control as possible. The sheer amount of knowledge we could learn from it alone…"

The director stopped talking, peaking up and looking into the air, everyone was confused, but then they all felt it. That vibration tingling in their body. Soundwaves and echoes reflecting, a massive body shifting that brought everything to shake and rumble.

There was but a tiny ounce of panic and doubt that Mark could spot briefly in the directors eyes. It made him smirk for just a moment, but also, he had to swallow as well. Knowing what happened earlier, who knows what he would do now.

Guilliaman got up quickly, turning around and sprinting over to the window, lifting the blinds in a bit of a haste and panic. He saw him, just outside the facility. Finally, the alarm started blaring.
Mark and Ilene looked at each other, they couldn't help but smirk a bit together, before returning to their regular duty.

"Sir, Dr. Dean-"
"What now Azusa!?"
"Someone opened the habitat main gate."
"The what?!"

Dr Dean ran over to the window that looked into the facility, looking down he saw the gate getting opened and two figures moving out, one larger than the other.
Verdugo just sat their in a bit of a panic, unsure what to do, Dr. Dean and Azusa ran out to see what was going on.

"You see Director," Mark had gotten up as well now, with everyone else starting to leave the room now.
Ilene and Mark had nodded to each other, she would go out to make sure Maddie was going to be okay, he trusted her with that.

So now he stood next to Director Guilliaman, giving him a shoulder pat, which wasn't something Guilliaman either was used to liked, so he had to flinch a bit.
"There was someone we forgot to ask about this whole thing as well."

Meanwhile inside the habitat

It had taken a bit for her to figure out to crack the gate, but she knew there was a universal emergency number for any Monarch gate. With a view extra guesses by combining with one of the outpost numbers and the one Azusa gave her.

Finally, she got it open. Ijiro, which was the name she had now given the hatchling, was sitting by her side. Looking around and up into the air, hearing and sensing what was awaiting them outside.

"Don't worry, this time he's going to play nice." She said that not to just him but also herself, to ease the uncertainty now left after the last night.

Even if he wasn't their best chance now really was her calming him down and standing her ground. The fear of him doing it to get a rival out of the way still sunk deep into her.

The gate had opened up by a good bit now, the slightly colder ocean winds dragged all the smells and the unfiltered air from outside into the pen. Something she considered about getting into trouble, but if anything, they all were going to be in trouble if she didn't do this.

The bright light reflected from the ocean surface outside made her squint a little, putting up a hand above her eyes to see better. She called Ijiro to her side, it walked outside with her in a hunched position.

Going from the soft mulch and dirt of the habitat to the hard and dry concreate of the outside harbour area was a strange feeling. They walked a bit further forward, in front of them was a downwards slope into the water, likely there for smaller boats.

Maddie looked to her left, that's where the area was where they entered from, she saw some personal run around in a haste, the Osprey that took them there was still there, even spotting Marius getting out of it. He had been there the entire time taking a nap, even now he still had his helmet on as he looked out to the sea, compared to everyone else he seemed to be cheering for something.
"Of course," she smiled.

She looked forward, spotting the gigantic, sharp, maple leave like dorsal plates cut through the water, directly towards them.
His movements where slow and gentle, but his plates flickered every now and then in erratic rhythm. Vibrations of his deep rumbling growls went through the water and up into the entire area. Some people felt paralyzed from it, feeling like they had to witness his presence.

The baby was uncertain, but its guardian reassured it, sticking close to it, hugging it in a protective stance.

A view hundred meters away from them he came to close, his body becoming more visible as the waters became shallower. Their gazes crossed; his eyes barely covered under the water.

As he got up thousands of gallons of water broke tension and streamed down his body, covering his visage for just a moment. One step taken cause the earth to tremble, signifying his arrival. Shined upon by the rising sun he gazed onto the area, looking at it, before unleashing a mighty roar.

It scared the infant, it ran behind Maddies legs cowering there.
She kept standing her ground, swallowing nervously.
Despite the time the two had spent so far, almost getting used to one another like its normal, the king of the monsters still managed to be an imposing and sometimes fearful figure.

As Godzilla was done announcing his arrival, his gaze mate again with Madison.

Another chapter done. Unfortunately had to delay it by a bit, basically the schedule is back to once a month towards the end for now, unless one week I feel like writing a whole chapter and you get a little bit more. Simply the heat was killing me and my motivation. There are things going on also in my personal life that made it harder, things might develop where I might not have enough time to dedicate myself towards the story, I'll try and keep uploading at a decent pace.

Hope you stay tuned for the more chapter!
