A/N: You're okay with fluffy, right? Right. Unbeta'd
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck
"Well, what do you think?" Sarah asked, coming out of the dressing room, spinning around. "Is it too tight in the back?" She didn't hear a response, more of a gasp, and it didn't sound like Carina. She turned and saw a tall man, with brown curly hair, sitting there waiting on someone, his eyes wide. "You are not Carina."
"I am not, she…Carina that is….I am not," the man replied, seeming to trip over his tongue. There was a look of awe on his face, he wasn't leering, but it was obvious that this dress had done the trick. "Wh-wh-what color do you call that?"
"Red," Sarah offered. She smiled at him. Normally, she wouldn't flirt with some random stranger, but there was something about him, something that made her happy with the way he appreciated her.
"Well, that makes sense," the talk man said, trying to cross his legs, and do something with his arms. He was totally and completely flustered, and he nearly fell out of the chair. He straightened himself. "I kinda thought it might be salmon, but, I'm not an expert on colors."
"Who are you talking to?" came a female voice, coming out of a changing room close to Sarah. "Chuck," she began, but then she saw Sarah and grinned. "Hi," the brunette woman said. "Ellie Bartowski, I'm Chuck's sister."
"Sarah Walker," Sarah replied. "Nice to meet you. I thought Chuck was someone else and asked his opinion on this dress."
"Did he say something inappropriate?" Ellie asked, her eyes flashing toward Chuck.
Sarah started to laugh. "Oh, no, he…he asked me about the color of the dress." She smiled at Chuck. She had almost told Ellie what really happened but she didn't want to do that to him.
"Oh," Ellie replied, blinking. She turned back to Sarah and chuckled. "Oh," she said knowingly.
"You look amazing," Chuck said. Both women turned to him. "Sarah, you look absolutely amazing, and you might have caught me a little off guard. It's not every day…or ever, that beautiful women ask me how they look." He paused and then he looked at Ellie. "Except for my sister, of course."
Ellie rolled her eyes at her brother and turned to Sarah. "I'm sorry, I don't let him out much." Sarah laughed at that. "I need a new dress for a reception at the hospital."
"The one tomorrow night?" Sarah asked. Ellie nodded. "See, I'm being dragged to it by my friend, Carina."
"Oh?" Ellie asked. "Why is that?"
"It's to, and I quote Carina, 'Get me over that lying sleezeball Bryce,'" Sarah told Ellie. Ellie's eyes went wide and she turned to Chuck. Chuck stood and walked over to Sarah. He extended his hand to Sarah.
"Chuck Bartowski, I used to date the girl you're lying sleezeball is currently dating," he informed her.
"Nice to meet you, Chuck," Sarah said, taking his hand, feeling a low warmth in their shake. "Are you going tomorrow night?"
"I am not," Chuck replied. "I have no want to go out to get over my ex-girlfriend and best friend hooking up."
Sarah's eyes went wide. "Oh my God, I had no idea that you were his best friend." She put her hand over her mouth. "He was always wanting me to meet you or go on a double date with you."
"Yeah," Chuck replied. "He was right, you are amazing." He glanced at Ellie. "I'm heading to the bookstore, I'm sure you two can pick out a dress much better than I can." He turned back to Sarah. "Nice to meet you," he said, and started toward the door. He paused and turned back to the two women watching him. "He really is an idiot," and with that, he left.

"Chuck, are you sure you don't want to go?" Ellie called out before she left for the gala.
"Yes," Chuck replied.
"Well, hurry up and get dressed," Ellie told him.
"I mean, yes I'm sure I don't want to go," Chuck told Ellie. He leaned against the wall that separated the living room from the hallway.
"Sarah might be there," Ellie told him.
"She might," he agreed.
"Chuck," Ellie began.
"Ellie, Sarah is a beautiful woman that the biggest idiot in the world Bryce Larkin cheated on, I'm sure she's got plenty of guys who would love to go out with her," Chuck told Ellie. She gave him a look, glanced at her watch, got a frustrated look on her face, and moved to the door.
"Listen, you're a hell of a guy Chuck," Ellie told him. "I bet she'd love to go out with you," she said as she opened the door. She turned and there stood Sarah, her fist raised to knock. Ellie turned to Chuck, a I told you so look on her face.

"Sorry to just come over uninvited," Sarah told him.
"It's fine," Chuck said. "But how did you know where I lived?"
"Your sister may have told me," Sarah replied, wincing a little. "So who's this woman that would love to go out with you?"
"My sister thinks it's you," Chuck told her.
"Hmm," Sarah replied, grinning at him. They were sitting on the fountain. "You still care about her? Jill."
"No, but it hurts, you know?" Chuck asked.
"Yeah, I do," Sarah said. "That's why I didn't go tonight." He looked over at her. "I mean who there would really understand what I was going through, and that's when I thought, you know who would? Chuck, that's who. So I came over, and I now realized that was kind of selfish on my part."
"No, it's not, I do understand, and again, glad you're here," Chuck told her.
"Really?" Sarah asked.
"Yeah," Chuck replied. "Hey, I was going to eat, how do you feel about Mexican?"

For two months, they hung out, texted each other, called each other, and were just about inseparable. It was a rainy afternoon, they were standing under an awning, getting ready to run back to Sarah's car, when they saw Bryce and Jill fighting. They watched in fascination as the two walked away from each other.
"Serves 'em right," Chuck muttered.
"You still miss her?" Sarah asked.
"Not at all," Chuck admitted. "In fact, I haven't thought about her in a long time."
"Oh," Sarah teased. "Anyone you've been thinking of?"
"Yeah," Chuck admitted. "Hey, do you think it's extra romantic to kiss in the rain? Especially if it was a couple's first kiss?"
"You mean like what it's doing right now?" Sarah asked him. He nodded. "Never thought about it, never done it, but you know what, with the right guy I'd be open to it." She looked up at him, pushed herself up to her tiptoes as he lowered his face to hers. A minute later he pulled away. "Oh thank God," she breathed.
"What?" Chuck asked.
"I was afraid it was gonna feel like kissing my brother or something," she admitted, making both of them laugh.
"Well, did it?" Chuck asked.
"Nope," Sarah replied.
"Hey," Chuck said softly. "You have a fancy dress?" Sarah raised an eyebrow, knowing he hadn't forgotten the one she was trying on when they met. "I'd like to take you dancing."
"Chuck Bartowski, are you asking me out?"
"Yes," he replied.

"I really think it's salmon," Chuck told her, looking at it lying across a chair.
She moved against his chest, lying against him in bed. "Does it matter?"
"Nope," Chuck replied. "Hey," he said softly. She looked up at him. "I love you."
"I love you," she replied. "But I need you to tell me the truth, do you like the way I look in that dress?"
"How can you even ask me that?" Chuck asked her.
She grinned. "You were pretty quick about getting it off of me." He chuckled and she leaned up to kiss him. "Still think I'm not interested?"
"Gurrrl, you are so interested." She laughed.
"I am," she replied.
A/N: Don't know if it's one of my better ones, but I needed something.
