"So you're going back to LA?" Carina asked Sarah. Carina was sitting in the chair, across from the couch where Chuck and Sarah were sitting.

"Yeah, my internship ends in a few weeks, and Chuck's there, with his family-" Sarah began.

"Sister," Chuck said with a shrug.

"And her boyfriend, and don't forget Morgan," Sarah added.

"What's a Martin?" Carina asked. Sarah gave Carina a glare and Carina held up her hands in defense. "So back to the scene of the crime, eh?"

"Scene of the crime?" Chuck asked, confused.

"The place where Blondie stole your heart and you had to chase after her," Carina explained.

"I don't know that I stole his heart," Sarah began.

"Totally stole my heart," Chuck agreed. The smile on Sarah's face, while small in size, nearly lit up the room at his words. "Funny thing is, I almost never said anything to her."

"What made you?" Carina asked.

"You'd find it boring, and dull," Sarah said quickly, grabbing her glass of water, and taking a sip.

"Well, it seemed to work," Carina pointed out. "So tell me, Chuckles, what finally pushed you over the edge."

"Welll," Chuck began. He gave Sarah a look and all she could do was give him a smile. He could tell she was uncomfortable. "Maybe I shouldn't-"

"Oh, if it's raunchy and erotic, I must insist," Carina nearly purred, leaning forward, enjoying herself.

"See, this is why he shouldn't tell you, because you will take something sweet, and loving, and caring, and make it into…" Sarah trailed off and waved her hand at Carina. "You!"

"Apparently she's serious about you," Carina told Chuck.

"I know I'm serious about her," Chuck said with a shrug. Sarah wrapped her arms around Chuck's near arm and leaned against it, content covering her face.

"I promise, I'll behave," Carina said.

"Okay," Chuck began. Sarah squeezed his arm and Chuck looked at her. "What?"

"Nothing," Sarah told him. "Just excited to hear you tell it."

"Okaaay," Chuck said, turning back to Carina, not sure what was going on. He missed the pointed look Sarah was giving Carina. "So, you know I was roommates with Bryce, and they were dating."

"I'm not even gonna make a joke to show you how serious I am," Carina promised. Sarah dropped her forehead against Chuck's shoulder.

"Anyway," Chuck said, widening his eyes at that and puffing out his cheeks. "I was crazy about her, but, she was with Bryce so…"

"Bros before hoes, I get it," Carina replied nodding. Sarah turned to her and glared. "What?"

"So, when Sarah got the internship and left, I lost my friend," Chuck told Carina. "There were many nights that Sarah and I talked and just hung out when Bryce would have different things going on, or had…drank too much."

"Chuck, you sly dog," Carina said, a grin on her face.

"He was nothing but a perfect gentlemen," Sarah insisted. "Men and women can be platonic friends."

"But why?" Carina asked.

"So, after she moved, I asked her if she'd ever like me to visit, and she told me she'd love to have me," Chuck continued, trying to ignore Carina. "So I came up here for a week, with no intentions other than seeing my friend."

"Okay, now for the good part," Carina said slapping her hands together. She ignored the pleading look Sarah was giving her.

"So, it was nearly time to go to bed when I realized Sarah did not have a second bedroom and this couch was very short."

"Uh-huh," Carina said, not sure what that had to do with anything.

"So, Sarah told me that I wouldn't be comfortable on the couch since it was so short and I should sleep in the bed with her," Chuck said, a grin on his face.

"That couch?" Carina asked, pointing at it. "The one you two are sitting on?"

"Yes," Sarah said, emphatically. Carina and Sarah locked eyes and Chuck swore he heard an old western fanfare and a whistle like two gunslingers about to duel it out.

"Anyway," Chuck said continuing. "I ended up sharing the bed with Sarah, and…well…she's a cuddler."

"Just to clarify, that couch?" Carina asked.

"YES!" Sarah hissed at Carina.

"Anyway, I woke up the next morning, her against me, my arm around her, and I blurted out how much I liked it," Chuck said with a blush. "I guess the truth is, if Sarah hadn't gotten a couch that was too short, we might never be together."

Carina sat there a second, speechless. "Again, just so we're clear…that couch?" Chuck started to answer but Carina shook her head. "Never mind," she said standing. "Chuck, will you please get up."

"What is going-"

"Just please get up," she said, offering him her hand. Chuck stood, and she shooed him to get out of the way. Sarah sat there, looking like a stone statue. "Sar."

"No," Sarah said. Carina reached down and grabbed her trying to force her up. "No."

"Sarah!" Carina said, and managed to get her up off of the couch.

"Carina!" Sarah yelled as she was pushed away from the couch. A cushion flew across, catching her in the head, keeping her for stopping Carina. Carina removed the other cushion, reached down, grabbed a black bar and pulled it. A bed came out of the couch.

"This couch?!" Carina asked.

Chuck's eyes were wide. "But…she said…." He turned to Sarah a grin threatening to split his face in two.

"I'm so sorry, Chuck," Sarah began, but that's as far as she got, as she was enveloped in Chuck's arms and his lips pressed against hers. It took her a second to get her bearings and then she was returning the kiss.

"Well, this is not going at all the way I thought it would," Carina grumbled. She grabbed her purse, and headed out the door. "They deserve each other," she said, a grin on her face as she left them alone.

A few minutes later, the two detangled from their kiss. "So you knew how I felt?" Chuck asked. Sarah shrugged shyly.

"I knew maybe if I could get you in my arms you might find the courage to say something, or I might find the courage," Sarah told him, grinning. "I forgot that Carina had slept on the sofa bed before." Chuck threw back his head and laughed.

"Our love life has literally been set in motion by a troupe," Chuck told her. "And I'm totally fine with it." He bent his neck until their foreheads touched. "I love you, Sarah Walker."

"Love you, Chuck."

A/N: This is almost an exact retelling of a story I saw on tumblr….except the story on tumblr didn't have Carina. Carina makes most stories better. Take care friends.
