A/N: Fluff? Fluff.
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck
Sarah made her way over to Jessica's apartment, a smile on her face. She had been living in this complex for a few months, and had gotten to know the single mother pretty well. Jessica's daughter, Molly was funny, bright, and just a delight to be around. While Sarah never thought of herself as the "mothering" type, she wasn't surprised when she found herself volunteering to baby sit Molly, to let the slightly older woman go on a date.
As she approached Jessica's apartment, she saw a tall, curly headed man standing there, a grin on his face, holding one flower, and a small box of what looked to be chocolates. "Big date tonight?" she asked, as she walked up to the door.
"Oh, yeah," the man replied, the grin growing. "I'm Chuck," he said, extending his free hand.
"Sarah Walker," Sarah replied, shaking his hand. "I'm here to babysit Molly while you and Jessica go out." A confused look covered his face. He looked like he was about to say something and then decided not to. He turned toward the door, and then back to Sarah, starting to say something again, and then stopped. Suddenly the door opened in front of them.
"Sarah," Jessica said as a way of greeting. "Chuck," Jessica said, a wince on her face. "I'm afraid you've been bamboozled."
"No date?" Chuck asked.
"No, I'm here to watch Molly," Sarah told him. "You two go have a good time." Jessica looked at Sarah, and then back to Chuck, back to Sarah, and burst out laughing. "Jessica," she hissed.
"I think I understand now," Chuck said, shaking his head and giggling. Sarah stared at Chuck. Were both he and Jessica mad? Was it catching?
"Both of you, please come in," Jessica said, stepping back to let them in. Sarah went in and Chuck followed. "You can put those on the table, Chuck, you didn't have to do that." Sarah gave Jessica a look. She couldn't believe the way Jessica seemed to be treating her date. "They're not for me, Sarah."
"I am so confused," Sarah admitted.
"This is Chuck, a great guy, who neither he or I have romantic feelings for the other, and who is dating my daughter," Jessica told Sarah. Sarah's eyes went wide. "You know Molly, she didn't think it was fair I got to date, if she couldn't. I told her she was too young, unless she found herself a proper gentleman." Jessica gave Chuck a warm smile. "You can't get much more of a proper gentleman than Chuck."
"Okay," Sarah said, understanding a little of what was going on. "First, that is so sweet and kind." Chuck looked away, his cheeks turning red. "But…why am I here?"
"Because I had no idea my daughter had a 'date,'" Jessica told Sarah.
"Oh no," Chuck muttered.
"See, my daughter has an ipad and that's how she messages Chuck," Jessica continued. Sarah couldn't help but giggle. "So when she found out I was going on a date, she wanted to go on one as well. I didn't feel like arguing with her, so I said since she didn't have anyone to chaperon her and Chuck, she was too young to go out on her own."
"I think I know where this is going," Sarah said, her laughter intensifying.
"So, she's the one keeping me from seeing my girl, huh?" Chuck said in some weird gangster accent, jerking his thumb toward Sarah, making both women laugh.
"No, I am," Jessica said kindly. "I can't afford to pay both of you."
"Why would you be paying me?" Chuck asked. "I'm on a date."
"And, I volunteered to babysit," Sarah added quickly. Jessica looked from one to the other. "Jessica, we…at least I do, I don't want to speak for Chuck, want you to go out and enjoy yourself with another adult."
"I'm perfectly fine with her speaking for me on this," Chuck added.
"But," Jessica began.
"Annndddd," Chuck added, making Jessica snort. "I was looking forward to watching the cinematic classic with my date."
"What are you watching?" Sarah asked. Jessica shook her head, realizing these two would not be talked out of this.
"The Lion King," Chuck replied.
"Ooooo," Sarah said. "I love that one."
"You've never seen it like this," Jessica muttered. Sarah raised an eyebrow, but before anyone could say anything there was a knock on the door. "Are you two sure?"
Chuck didn't say anything, but stepped over, and opened the door. "Dan," Chuck said, extending his hand.
"Are you two here to ask me my intentions?" Dan joked as he came in.
"You have her back by eleven, it's a school night," Chuck told him.
"It's Friday," Sarah pointed out.
"And there was school today, so therefore a school night," Chuck told Sarah.
Sarah turned to Dan and shrugged. "He's got you there."
"And if I don't?" Dan asked, a grin on his face.
"I'll sic Sarah on you," Chuck replied with a shrug.
"How do you know I can beat him up?" Sarah asked softly, but loud enough where Dan and Jessica could hear.
Chuck turned to her and shrugged. "I have no idea if you can, but I know I can't, and Dan probably knows I can't, so I figured you're the best shot we have." The other three laughed uproariously at that.
"You do know he and I have been dating for six months?" Jessica asked.
"Yes, I do," Chuck replied. "I'm just messing with him."
"Any chance you'll let me pay the sitter this time?" Dan asked Jessica. She started to give him a look. Sarah knew that look. It was one of a proud woman. A proud woman with little money, wanting to prove she could make it. Dan was trying to help. Trying to be a supportive boyfriend, and Sarah thought she'd toss him a lifeline.
"There's no sitter," Sarah told Dan. She grinned at the worried look on his face. It was obvious he wanted to go out with Jessica and just have some alone time with her. "Chuck is going on a date with Molly, and I am their chaperon."
"No funny business," Dan said in a stern voice, pointing his finger at Chuck.
"I wouldn't dream of it," Chuck replied honestly. Dan smiled at him. "Now, you two kids go have fun, and seriously, take all the time you need. Just do come back for her in a week or two, or she could have taken over the master bedroom."
"I will be back tonight," Jessica told them, shaking her head. She glanced at Dan. "It's up to him if he comes back with me." Sarah gave Dan a look and he just grinned.

The door opened and Jessica walked back into the apartment, alone, but with a dreamy smile on her face. "Everything okay?" Sarah asked in a low voice. She flicked her head to the other end of the couch, where Chuck say, his head back, and his arm protectively slung around the little girl on his lap, who was drooling on his shirt, asleep.
"He asked me to move in," Jessica told Sarah. "I said yes."
"That's great, but…oh…surgery?" Sarah asked.
Jessica nodded. "There was a bad wreck and they needed a surgeon. You know, I can never thank Ellie enough for introducing me to Dan. That's Chuck's sister. How'd tonight go?" Sarah chuckled and shook her head. "You weren't prepared for that, were you?"
"You mean where at the beginning of the movie when Simba is lifted up toward the sun, that Chuck would do the same thing with Emma?" Jessica chuckled quietly. "Or did you mean the ridiculous amount of laughter during the I Just Can't Wait to be King number?" Jessica's chuckles grew.
"He nearly passed out laughing every time all the animals crash down on that bird," Jessica admitted.
"Or him legit crying when Mufasa died?" Jessica shook her head. "OORRRRR, two minutes later, leaning over to me, and conspiratorially whispered. 'Are we just gonna ignore that the kid just sang a song wanting to be king and now he is?'"
"That's new," Jessica admitted.
"I turned, looked at him in shock, and with a straight face, he just nodded and said, 'Too soon,' and leaned back," Sarah continued, laughing.
"Did he do the Pumba voice?" Jessica asked. Sarah tilted her head and gave her friend a look. "Of course he did," Jessica answered herself, nodding. "And when Nala showed up?"
"Both he and Molly covered each other's eyes and he tried to put his hand over my eyes," Sarah told Jessica, who was now sitting in a chair, laughing, knowing Chuck's antics. "I then told him I was old enough to watch, and Chuck paused the movie, with Nala giving Simba bedroom eyes, told Molly to keep her eyes covered, turned to me, and in the most serious manner possible asked, 'Are you? No, really. Are you?'"
Jessica was covering her mouth, laughing, trying not to wake her child.
"Did you set me up?" Sarah asked. Jessica shook her head. "Did Molly?"
"Maybe," Jessica admitted.
"She told me, that I could date him, but she still got to watch movies with him," Sarah told Jessica. "Told him that right in front of Chuck. I didn't know a man could turn that red."
"He's a good guy, Sarah," Jessica said with a shrug. "He wasn't right for me."
Sarah looked over at him. "I didn't know they still made them like that," she said softly. Jessica stood, walked over, patted Sarah's knee, walked over to Chuck, and lifted up her child.
"Night, Chuck, love you," Molly muttered.
"Night Mol, love you," Chuck replied, blinking and trying to get his bearings. "Did I snore?"
"No, that was Molly," Sarah told him. Chuck laughed. "So, are you gonna give me your number of do I have to get it from Molly."
Chuck pressed his lips together and shook his face. "I don't know," he replied. "That Nala scene didn't even phase you. I might not be the guy you're looking for." He grinned at her.
"Why don't I buy you a cup of coffee and we can discuss how as an adult, King Trident makes a lot of sense in The Little Mermaid." Chuck let out a low whistle. "Too much?"
"I just think that might also require a slice of pie," Chuck told her.
"Well, if pie is involved, I'm also going to need your opinions on Mary Poppins," Sarah told him.
Chuck narrowed his eyes at her. "Did you just make a spoon full of sugar joke there, with the pie and Mary Poppins?" Sarah shrugged. "I'm gonna have to keep my eye on you."
"Okay," Sarah replied, grinning at him. She stood and held out her hand. He took it and stood.
"Don't stay out too late you two," Jessica said, walking back in and grinning.
"We….it's not….uh…" Chuck began.
"Tell Molly thank you," Sarah said, leading him to the door, still sputtering.
"I will," Jessica said, as the door closed.
