My Mom the Warrior of Light
This is just a short thing I thought up while working on some projects. If you want me to continue it, leave me a review!
Pain was something Vergo Stratsa knew all too well. Years of adventuring and battling gods, Voidsent, Kami, and various machines and bioweapons had left her with scars she'd rather forget. As she slowly got to her feet, she opened her eyes to find herself in a devastated area. Buildings were collapsed and on fire, and the distant sounds of fighting filled the air.
Vergo sighed as she began to heal herself with her Aether. "The other Scions are not going to let me live this down…" she muttered, glancing around to get her bearings.
Her eyes narrowed as she caught a faint sound, the weak cries for help. She followed the sound and discovered a heartbreaking scene: a mother, a Hyur resembling those from Kugane, barely clinging to life as she protected a small child. The woman's body was ravaged beyond Vergo's ability to heal. "A...child?"
Despite the dire situation, Vergo huffed. "I'm a grown woman, ma'am," she muttered. Being a Lalafell often led to people underestimating her due to her height. Approaching forty, she was tired of the assumptions. "Save your energy…" she advised, attempting to heal some of the woman's injuries with her Aether.
"Please…take care of my child…" the woman pleaded, looking down at the unconscious boy clinging to her. He couldn't be older than four. "Please…"
Vergo bit her lip, torn by the request. She had never refused a dying person's wish, but caring for a child was daunting. Her life was too dangerous and unpredictable. Still… "I'll do what I can. What is your name?"
"Inko…Inko Midoriya…" the woman whispered, her voice fading. "Please…take care…of my little Izuku…"
"I'll take care of him," Vergo promised, despite her uncertainty. She didn't even know where she was or how she'd get back, and now she was committing to raising a child! Inko smiled weakly before passing away. Vergo gently closed her eyes and turned her attention to the boy. He seemed mostly unharmed, but she still bathed him in her Aether to ensure his well-being.
"The other Scions are going to have a field day with me…" she muttered, pulling out the Crystal of Azem. As she concentrated on the crystal, a light appeared beside her, forming into another being. This one was a female Au Ra, clad in heavy red and dark grey armor.
"Alia, sorry to bother you in this way," Vergo said.
"No need to apologize. I saw everything through your eyes," Alia replied with a wane smile. "You need my help carrying this child, yes?"
"Yes," Vergo sighed. "He's still unconscious, and I'm unsure what dangers this world or reflection holds."
"It wouldn't be the first time you've found yourself in such a situation," Alia said, gently lifting the child from his deceased mother.
As they began to navigate through the ruined city, Vergo and Alia moved cautiously, the devastation around them making every step treacherous. Rubble and debris littered the streets, and the acrid smell of smoke filled the air. They could hear distant cries and explosions, indicating ongoing battles elsewhere in the city.
"This place is worse than some of the battlefields we've seen," Alia remarked, her eyes scanning the surroundings. "What do you think happened here?"
"Hard to say," Vergo replied, her gaze sharp as she looked for any signs of immediate danger. "It looks like a war zone, but there are signs of something more... unnatural. The destruction is too widespread and chaotic."
As they turned a corner, they spotted a figure slumped against the remains of a building. Drawing closer, they saw that it was a man, badly injured and barely conscious. His muscular frame was imposing, even in his weakened state.
"Who is this?" Vergo muttered, kneeling beside the man.
Alia crouched down, concern etched on her face. "He's critically injured. We need to help him."
Vergo approached the man carefully. "Can you hear me? We're here to help."
The man's eyes fluttered open, filled with pain but also determination. "Who... are you?" he rasped.
"My name is Vergo Stratsa, and this is Alia Verde, the boy is Izuku Midoriya." Vergo said, her voice calm and reassuring. She began to channel her Aether, attempting to heal some of his more severe injuries.
The man winced as the healing energy flowed through him. "I'm All Might," he managed to say. "Thank you for your help."
"All Might?" Alia echoed. "What happened here?"
All Might struggled to speak, his breath labored. "I just bested a very dangerous foe... but the battle... it left the city in ruins. I was taking a breather before heading out to stop the other chaos that he caused."
"Whatever he was, he left a chunk of corrupted Aether in you." Vergo said as she concentrated harder to cleanse the man. "I haven't seen something this foul since my fights with the Ascians."
"Ascians?" All Might questioned.
Vergo shook her head. "Tis a long story and not enough drinks available for it." She said with a frown as she stopped healing the man. "You should be fine now."
All Might nodded standing up straight. "I do feel a lot better…" He paused to look at the two women. "You two aren't from around here are you?"
"We're not from this reflection - or world, yes, and I am merely a reflection of Vergo." Alia told the man with a frown. "Is there a place we could rest and talk? This could take a while."
And thats all I have so far on this.
Vergo is my main currently on FFXIV but Alia and several others were Alts I had made on other servers. I wanted to give that more significance here as "Summonable Reflections of Vergo". This also plays in the part of the lore in recent years that the adventurer can summon other adventurers using the Crystal of Azem.
Please let me know what you think!
