Chapter 5: Plan and Preparation

WRITER NOTE: Sly Cooper is a franchise with a "Goofy-Pluto" problem where most animals are anthropomorphic, but others of same species are feral, so basically whenever the term "Organics" are used in this story, it basically means Anthro animals.

That night, everyone is sleeping, including most of the Autobots, who are in stasis (The Transformers term for sleep), but Sly can't for obvious reasons. He decides to walk around the base. He sees Prime working on the main Autobot computer, Teletraan One. He approaches him. The big bot, without even turning to look, notices him.

Optimus: You are still thinking about her, are you?

Sly:...yes.

Optimus: She is your Conjunx Endura, I presume?

Sly: Conja what?

Optimus: A Conjunx Endura is what us Cybertronians refer to significant others as or lovers as you organics put it.

Sly:... Do you have a Conjunx Endura?

Optimus: Yes. But we have a… complicated relationship…..

Sly: Does it involve her having a law enforcement job who sees you as a dirty criminal and keeps chasing you when you know deep down she secretly loves you? In fact, is she a Decepticon? (nervously chuckles)

Optimus: No. We just live worlds apart. She is currently fighting lightyears from here on Cybertron and like me, leading Autobots against remaining Decepticons. Elita-1 is her name and we have extremely cared for one another for a very long time, since before I was a Prime. I rarely communicate with her these days.

Sly: Before you were a Prime?

Optimus: That is a subject for another time.

Sly: Alright, so what's your plan for tomorrow?

Optimus: You have kindly allowed me to scan through your Thievius Raccoonus, studying your family's history and pinpointing potential Allspark fragment locations.

Sly: How are we gonna find them?

Optimus: We have Allspark detectors.

Sly: Oh yeah. That's how Bee and Prowl found us last night. Okay, what's our first location?

Optimus: Egypt.

Sly: Uggh. Lemme tell you I have a bad history there, literally. But what about Car-?

Optimus: (interrupts) We find the fragment with the help of your team. There is a likely chance at least one Decepticon will come and attempt to take it, but my Soldiers will be ready to catch one and force them to "Spill the beans" again as you organics put it to where the other Decepticons are hiding, from there we will stage another plan to rescue your loved one. After that, I am not forcing you to stay, and you and your team can leave us if you want.

Sly: If Carmelita is safe from them, then I think I'll owe you. Plus, I want to know more about how my family was somehow connected to aliens.

Next morning, everyone is getting ready for Optimus' plan. Bentley and Wheeljack, the Autobot scientist have become fast friends because of course they do.

Murray: Uhh. I'm getting hungry. I take it you Autobots don't have normal food?

Ratchet: We have Energon.

Murray: Energon? Is that consumable to Animals like us?

Coopercus: (Transforms into van) Here Murr. I'll take you to a nearby drive-thru.

Murray: Oh that's my boy! Hey you guys want anything?

Sly and Bentley give their orders as Coopercus and Murray drive off. Bentley looks at Arcee.

Bentley: I have had yet to question this, but how are male and female Cybertronians different?

Arcee: (Gives him a weird look) What do you mean by that?

Bentley: I mean despite being space robot beings, do you still have….? Y'know what, nevermind my question.

Hot Rod is monitoring Teletraan 1 when he comes across a TV news report.

Hot Rod: Prime! You're gonna wanna have a look at this!

Everyone gathers around to see the report. They see Decepticons attacking, going in and then flying or rolling out fast with big sacks out of the Utah base.

TV Reporter: This morning at dawn, A Utah Military base was attacked by giant robots, no I am not kidding. Sources say they call themselves Decepticons. They injured many and even killed a few Military soldiers trying to fight back against them. Several of the Military's combat vehicles even happened to be these malicious robots in disguise. They have seemed to come to acquire huge mechanical parts the base had in possession that were being planned to soon be reverse-engineered. This is also theorized to have been connected to the capture of Inspector Carmelita Montoya Fox of Interpol by a rogue Police Car last night. A statement from a Government official was released soon after.

Government Official: I have permission to confirm that yes, we have known about these Disguising robots for quite a while, but not to worry. From what we know there are the good ones and bad ones. No need to panic. There have been a few times where we have contacted the supposed good group, who call themselves the Autobots. We have no clues on what their exact motives are but what we do know is that they seem to fight for justice against the Decepticons.

TV Reporter: Not only that, but Interpol just received a message from an unknown location from who they think is the captor, Inspector Fox.

Carm: (Her Message playing on the news) Hello! Hello! Hola! This Inspector Carmelita Montoya Fox! I know this sounds crazy and insane….. But I have been kidnapped by these…(Static cuts through parts of the message) you know I'm not crazy!

Sly: Carmelita!

The static goes on for a bit longer until the last half of the message plays in its entirety.

Carm: I DON'T KNOW WHERE I AM! I DON'T WHO THESE ROBOTS ARE! THEIR LEADER CALLS HIMSELF MEGATRON! THEY SPEAK ENGLISH, BUT I SUSPECT THEY WERE BUILT FROM SOMEWHERE LIKE RUSSIA OR NORTH KOREA! THEY PLAN TO ATTACK A UTAH MILITARY BASE! GET WORD TO THEM ABOUT IT IMMEDIATELY AND DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO FIND AND SAVE ME!

Murray and Coopercus roll in. They think something important must have happened while they were gone and feel awkward.

Murray: Uhhh…. What did we miss?

Sly: Prime! My crew needs to get to Egypt now! But how are we gonna get there fast?

Wheeljack: Oh, we have always have an easy solution.

'Jack shows the Cooper Gang the Autobots' spacebridge. A humongous form of Cybertronian technology that can create portals to transport them to any part of the planet instantly.

Murray: So… can you guys travel to Cybertron whenever you want?

Wheeljack: Well, no. The planet is so far away. We would need a lot and I mean a lot of energon to power it for that very extreme distance.

Optimus: (To Sly) Cooper. Some, but not all of my team will go with yours. I am assigning Arcee, Jazz and Bulkhead to go with you.

Sly: Will do Prime!

Optimus: You have the AllSpark signal tracker with you. Do you maybe have an idea of where your Egyptian Ancestor hid the fragment?

Sly: I'm pretty sure.

Murray: C'mon, Coopercus! You're coming with us.

Coopercus: Hell yeah! My first mission.

Murray: Wait! Don't transform yet. I've heard Prime has to give a certain command.

The Spacebridge portal to Egypt opens. Everyone assigned to the mission is ready.

Optimus: (To Sly) Good luck, Master Thief.

Sly gives him a respectful hat tip and Prime gives his iconic command.

Optimus: AUTOBOTS! TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT.

Arcee, Bulkhead, Jazz and Coopercus transform into their vehicle modes. They rev up their engines as Murray gets into Coopercus and Sly and Bentley get into Jazz. The team rolls off through the portal to Egypt.
