A/N: After a long break, well not really, my classes had become a bit more time consuming and unfortunately even April is completely packed for me. I thought I'd give you guys an update. I think most of you all want some drama, so yes, drama you shall get.

Chapter 5

I cannot believe it! I just simply can't. A certain someone who shall not be named has been on my mind since yesterday. Why did she confess to a crime she didn't do? Especially since it got her benched from practice. Hell, she even swam the laps I ordered her to do and refused my help. As I was leaving, I saw her grabbing the mop and started cleaning the locker rooms. Did she actually vandalize the room? Did she actually hurt Teddy? What was going on?

Just as Teddy and I were about to reach our lockers to dump our bags, Teddy elbowed me.

"What?" I was annoyed and maybe a bit hurt and definitely bruised.

Hey! I brushed like a peach.

"Look! Over there!" she pointed in the front.

Callie was putting her stuff away in her own locker. She was wearing a nice deep purple shirt which she had paired with a plaid skirt that ended somewhere around her midthigh. Her legs, actually, incredibly long legs were on full display. She was a whole nother level of tan. Believe me, being in chlorine filled waters does that to your skin, but her tan was on a different level, maybe she was naturally tan. She had her hair in loose waves running over her shoulders and her freshly cut bangs were framing her forehead. My eyes wavered and I saw the guys from the football team approach her.

This was not going to end well.

The leader of the douchebags was no one other than mega douchebag captain of the football team Owen Hunt and his lackey George O'Malley. Within seconds the boys had surrounded Callie.

"So new girl? I heard about the little stunt you pulled on Teddy."

"Yeah? I didn't think that your tiny little brains could comprehend that." Wow, my respect for Callie had multiplied by tenfold. She was fighting back.

"Of course sweetie, my parents taught me well," George said. "Unlike yours?"

Come on Callie, don't give him that! That was a low blow and you know it.

"I didn't need my parents to teach the most fundamental of things, when I can easily learn them on my own."

"Is that so? Because from what I know, if I were your dad, I'd kill myself too!" All the guys laughed. I saw Callie balling up her fists as her eyes started filling up slightly. "Her mom killed herself too, I mean after having a daughter like her, I don't blame her."

Mark rushed to the scene and pulled Owen off of her. "Hunt, why don't you mind your own business!"

"Why don't you look at that, an orphan defending an orphan. I didn't know you started your own club here Sloan! Why? Was swimming not enough to get the chicks?" Owen said.

Callie looked at the two of them before angrily slamming her locked.

"Why don't you say to my face Owen, tell me one more time how my parents died, I dare you" she challenged.

"They-" but before he could finish his sentence Callie kneed him in his balls before stepping away.

"Anyone else want to try?" She looked at the group of boys as they cupped their own packages. "Didn't think so."

"Nice one Torres!" Mark raised his hand for a high-five, but Callie shrugged him off and took off.

Our eyes met briefly. I swear I saw pain in them, pain and something else I didn't exactly know what, before she walked off. Teddy ran up to Owen to check up on him. Honestly, he got what he deserved.

"Hey Torres! Wait up!" I heard Mark calling me, but I quickly got into my car before starting it. He came and stood in front of it, preventing me from driving.

I pressed on the horn a bunch of times, but he didn't budge. I finally lowered my window.

"What do you want!"

"I want to talk to you!"

"Well, I don't want to talk!"

"Then I'll tell the entire school your real name is Calliope!" Urghh! He had to hit a girl when she was down. I unlocked my car door and told him to take a seat.

"What?" I asked. Honestly, I wanted to get this over with as soon as possible.

"That was badass Torres! The way you shut him down, no one in the school has dared to do that! You have no idea how good that was especially for a-"

"New girl?" I scoffed. "I have spent two weeks here and why am I still the new girl? Why!"

"Because you are fresh meat, you are enigmatic, you are new and everybody wants to know you"

"Is that why he yelled in front of the entire school that my parents died, oh no wait, that they killed themselves?" I gripped the steering wheel tightly as a way to let go of my anger, but it was of no use.

"They have not see you in action, they think you are just some push over-"

"I am not!" I yelled.

Mark suddenly lunged forward and hugged me. "You need to let these things go and focus on the good. You are too wound up on the details so just focus on the positive, good things are on the horizon."

I pulled back. "I think I prefer jerk Sloan over motivated Sloan!" I joked.

"What can I say! You freaking beat my time in today's practice."

Yup, Mark Sloan was helping me practice so that my swimming didn't suffer because of the suspension. So, every morning before he has practice, he comes over to my place and times me and helps me with new drills. So far, it's been going great and my time has significantly improved. Also, I found a great friend in Mark.

"You know what you should do Callie? You should throw a party!"

"What?" I looked at him.

"Yeah, that way people can stop talking about who you are and stop spreading rumors and move onto the next piece of gossip."

I rolled my eyes. "You just want to ask out Lexie."

"I do, but we could all use something good right about now."

I sighed. "I don't think it's a good idea."

"Just think about it. This way you can get to know everyone in school and not just the athletes and people on the swim team."

The man has a point, my sister is flying off to LA so that my niece could spend some time with her father, the house would be empty and a party does sound fun. If I want the school to think of me, I'd rather they think about me as a person who threw a kickass party than the sad lonely orphan.

Why did I have blonde hair! It was always a hassle to dry it off and if I didn't then it would become all brittle and I would have to chop it all off and I love my hair too much to do that. No matter what swim cap I tried, some water did manage to go in it, I hated it. For some reason the minute it touched any form of water it would just curl up. I have spent hours straightening my hair for a droplet of water to undo all of that.

I dried my hair as best as I could and sadly everyone had already left. Usually Teddy stayed back, but Owen and she had made plans of hanging out so even she's off. I quickly stuffed my costume into my bag before tying my hair into a messy knot and stepped out.

Oh.

Callie was sitting there with her toes dipped in the cold water as she lightly splashed her feet around.

"Are you waiting for me?" I asked her cautiously.

"Yeah, waiting for you to leave."

"Oh, I'll leave them."

Before I could leave, she grabbed my hand. "I didn't mean it like that. The coach found out what happened with Owen today, so I have to clean the lockers for a whole week."

"I'm sorry, I should have-"

"He did it discreetly, he said that the team looked up to me and he wanted me out of the competition, so instead he yelled at me for an hour and now…"

I sat down beside her, quickly removing my flip flops from my feet before sinking them in the water.

"What you did today, with Owen..."

"Before you even say it Robbins, I know it was wrong and believe me I regret it."

"I was going to say it was very brave."

Callie smiled at me. "You think so?"

"Yeah. I mean I love Teddy, but I don't know what she sees in him." I chuckled which made Callie laugh too.

"I guess he's a decent guy, he stood up for her."

"By surrounding you with five other guys?"

Callie looked down to her hands before looking up at me. "I mean I did vandalize the locker room, right?"

I shook my head. "That is what I don't understand. You would never do that! And yet you took the fall for it and bore the punishment for it. Why would you do that? You could have easily been swimming all this while, kicking all of our butts instead of cleaning up after us. Who are you protecting? You don't even know that many people around here."

"Why do you think I didn't put those pictures of Teddy?" She asked.

"I don't know, I just do."

Callie looked away. "Well, I did it, okay! So just stop."

For a minute none of us spoke. Clearly Callie didn't want to talk about it so I decided to drop it. If she says she did it, kudos to her. Suddenly, her phone buzzed and saw Mark texting her. 'Where are you?'

"So, you and Sloan huh?" I asked.

"What?"

"You turned down Tim and Teddy for Sloan. I mean I like that you aren't dating my brother because it would have sucked to watch you around my house but Teddy, she is definitely better than Sloan! Any one is."

Callie smiled. "Well, you weren't available otherwise I would have asked you out!" she said.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm a one-woman kind of girl, thank you so much. And just like being my friend, you need to be special for me to date you."

"I guess I'm still not your friend?"

"Nope," I said as I popped the p at the end of the word.

"Lea is a really special girl then?"

She possibly couldn't know what was going on between Lea and I, that we were fighting because she wanted to go further and do hand stuff and under the T-shirt stuff and I wasn't ready for it. That I wanted to wait a bit longer. There was no way she could have known.

"Yeah, she's really special." I said before swinging my legs and standing up. I was done with this conversation, I put my flip flops back on and took my bag.

"Arizona, wait!" She called out to me.

"Mom is expecting me early today, I need to go."

"I'm having a party tomorrow at my house, you and your friends should stop by."

"I'll check with my friends if they want to hang out at your house." I know it was low, but I just wanted to leave. After she brought up my girlfriend, I didn't want to spend a minute too long with her and I could tell that she understood it too, but I didn't care. If she wants to hook up with Mark fucking Sloan than so be it! I don't care. I just want to leave.

A/N: So how was that? I think some of you might get what I'm planning for the next chapter, but I highly doubt that I made it too obvious, but you are welcome to guess.

Most of you also wanted a hot cold relationship between the two of them, so here it is!
