Date a Live x Some Random Nice Guy Chapter 6: Night on the Town, a date a live/デート・ア・ライブ fanfic

As they approach the town she continues to cling to him while thinking to herself, "determination: This will be where I achieve my goal."

As they enter the town, Yuzuru scans the immediate area, seeing a few shops dotting what appears to be the Main Street. With a game plan now in her head, she tightens the grip on his arm while pointing at one of store fronts and saying, "inquiry: Yuzuru needs a new dress and will need your advice in picking one."

He looks back at her with a smile while ignoring the feeling of numbness now taking over his arm and saying, "yeah sure. Let's…."

She proceeds to drag him towards the store before he can finish his sentence. Inside Yuzuru stands undressed in the change room while trying to decide between two dresses. While looking between the two choices she says, "intrigue: which will make Burchard fall faster."

She looks up and sees herself in the mirror causing an eyebrow to raise while saying: confirmation: that will work."

Meanwhile outside, Burchard casually walks around the different rows of clothing when he hears a voice from the change room area asking, "inquiry: Burchard, Yuzuru needs your opinion?"

Not thinking anything of it, he casually walks over to her change room while saying, "sure thing."

As he gets to her room, the curtain suddenly flies open revealing Yuzuru standing there holding the two dresses in hand….. and aside from underwear and strategically placed hair, wears nothing else. He goes wide eyed while his face turns a bright shade of red though she seems unfazed as she asks, "inquiry: which do you prefer?"

He mumbles back, "uh-uh I uh?"

Seeing his reaction causes her to look at him with a raised eyebrow while asking, "inquiry: have you finally fallen for…."

His head suddenly snaps to the side at breakneck speed while pointing at one of the dresses and blurting out, "that one looks best!"

Surprised by his reaction she thinks, "confusion: why does he not want to look at Yuzuru?"

While still looking away, Burchard starts to walk backwards away while saying sheepishly, "well if that's all you needed…. I have something I wanted to look at."

She responds while bowing to him, "rebuttal: thank you for your help."

She closes the curtain as Burchard walks back into the main show room while trying to shake away the embarrassment he was feeling and saying to himself, "I forgot I can't let my guard down around her."

After a few more minutes, Yuzuru walks up to Burchard while asking, "inquiry: how does Yuzuru look?"

He turns around and sees her wearing the dress he picked, a light blue strapped sun dress decorated with a few tropical looking yellow and red flowers. He looks her up and down then with a warm though slightly relieved smile replies, "you look beautiful."

The comments for some reason catches her off guard and fills her with a warm fuzzy feeling which causes her cheeks to turn flush. She casually looks away in an attempt to hide her embarrassment while saying, "gratitude: thank you for the compliment."

While looking away she thinks, "annoyance: not only did he not fall for Yuzuru, he looked away from Yuzuru's bare body and appears to be more excited by Yuzuru being fully clothed….. and why did Yuzuru become embarrassed by his compliment?"

She ignores that last thought while a new found feeling of resolve and determination fills her as she thinks, "determination: the next stop will be were he will fall for Yuzuru."

She looks back at him while saying, "confirmation: Since it was to your liking. Yuzuru will buy this one."

She walks towards the cashier and takes out her purse but is surprised to see Burchard walk past her with his wallet out and saying, "I'll buy it for you."

She attempts to walk past him while responding, "rebuttal: there is no need for you to do that."

Not letting her past him he look back at her with a warm smile while saying, "I don't need to. I want to."

Annoyed by his stubbornness she responds, "rebuttal: but….."

He cuts her off saying, "consider it a gift."

Realizing she wasn't going to win this, she sighs in defeat then says, "acceptance: very well."

After paying for the dress and leaving the store, Yuzuru once more takes her place clinging to his arms while they walk down the street. As they walk she studies the different store fronts thinking, "annoyance: none of these will do. They will give Yuzuru no chance to make him fall for her."

A thought comes to mind as she looks back at their hotel while thinking, "curiosity: Yuzuru wonders how Kaguya is fairing with Shido?"

Meanwhile back at the hotel, Shido lies sprawled out in bed absolutely exhausted from the day with the news playing in the background, "the weather forecast shows clear sky's for now though with how unpredictable it has been these past few days, it is recommended that you stay prepared for anything. In other news, new details have been released about the attack on a…."

He tunes out the tv as to his relief he can feel himself slowly drifting off to sleep but as he gives in to total peace…. There's a knock at the door.

Sitting up he looks at the door with confusion while saying, "Tohka is with the others and Reine just left here a few minutes ago? Who could it be?"

A sudden chill runs down his spine as a feeling of horror takes over him as he mutters, "it must be Kaguya."

Deciding to ignore her for the sake of his sanity, He lies back down and pretends to sleep. For whatever reason, she doesn't buy this act as there is another knock at the door.

Again he decides to ignore it but again there is a knock which now increases in volume and frequency. With his quiet night now filled with the constant knocking at the door he finally relents. He gets to his feet and walks to the door then opens it while saying, "I'm sorry Kaguya but I'm to…."

His sentence trails off when he doesn't see Kaguya but Reine instead holding a plastic bag filled with what appears to be cans of some kind."

He looks at her confused while asking, "uh you where just here? Did you forget something?"

She nods casually then holds up the bag while replying, "I wanted to give you these."

He takes the bag and look inside with intrigue but becomes confused when he sees nothing but energy drinks. He looks back up at her with a raised eyebrow while asking, "what are these for?"

She replies, "you seemed tired, these should help."

He looks back at her with a smile while saying, "uh thanks but I was planning on going to bed so I don't need these."

To his surprise she starts walking away while saying, "unfortunately for you that's no longer an option. Goodbye Shido."

He watches as she disappears down the hall then looks at the bag with confusion while thinking, "what did she mean by that?"

He doesn't think to much about it while closing the door behind him.

"Hello handsome."

A terrible chill runs down his spine as he slowly turns and looks over at the bed…. Where he sees Kaguya lying on her side and wrapped in a blanket, Pretty much in the way that every movie does though none of this comes to mind as he asks nervously, "uh… what are you doing here?"

She look back at him with her best attempt at a seductive smile while replying, "well seeing as our time in the bath was unfortunately cut short. I was thinking we can continue our evening now."

He however casually steps back towards the door while saying with a guilty smile, "uh well sorry but I'm to tired so I think I'll be going to bed instead."

As if excited by what he said, she sits up while declaring, "I know!!!"

She reaches out her arms to him while somehow staying covered and saying, "why don't you come here and I'll keep you warm all night!!!"

He again takes a step back while saying, "yah know I would but I generally get pretty warm at night so I'll have to pass."

He places his hand on the door knob while continuing, "and since you already look so comfy I'll just go to my friends…."

Suddenly a loud banging is heard just outside while the door shakes violently. As suddenly as it started it stopped but when he tries to open the door, it doesn't even move an inch. He tries pushing against the door but it doesn't budge which causes him to ask himself, "why does it feel like it's nailed shut?"

Meanwhile outside, Reine casually walks away with a hammer in hand while saying, "good luck Shido."

Back in the room, Shido continues to try and open the door to no avail, which causes a now giddy Kaguya to say, "hehe, guess your not going anywhere."

He looks back at her with a guilty smile while saying, "looks like it."

A strange thought comes to mind as he asks, "hang on. How did you get in here?"

While still smiling giddily she replies, "isn't it obvious! I came in through the window while Reine was distracting you!"

He guilty smiles back at her while thinking, "of course reine had something to do with this….. and this is the forth floor so I can't go out the way she came in."

This last thought causes his shoulders to drop in defeat while sighing disheartedly. After a few moments of staring at the floor, his head slowly creeks up to see Kaguya smiling back at him like she also knew he wasn't going to be getting out of this room which causes him to finally say, "guess I only have one option."

Getting the response she wanted causes her to smile giddily once more while saying with joy, "haha! I knew I'd get you!"

He smiles guiltily back at her but instead of saying anything, he quickly dives into the bathroom and slams the door behind him, leaving her looking at the door dumbfoundedly as she hears the door lock, causing her to ask, "huh?"

Meanwhile on the other side of the door, Shido sluggishly slides down it until he was sitting on the floor and rubs his temples while muttering, "I just need one night to myself."

His head suddenly jumps forward from the force of the door being bent inward most likely caused by Kaguya pounding on it while shouting, "come on Shido! Don't be like that!!!"

Shido intern crawls into the bathtub for refuge while shouting back, "please. I'm begging you! Just give me some time off!"

The pounding stops to the relief of Shido but it is short lived due to him hearing her whimper, "so that's it huh? You don't want me around anymore because you don't like me and want me to lose the competition?"

Realizing he was now backed into ah…. Uh well tub, he Frantically looks at the door while blurting back, "that's not true!!! Of course I like and want to be with you!!!"

Silence comes from the other side of the door which funnily enough isn't what he wanted to be hearing right now but while he was sitting up in the tub and is about to go check on her when he hears her respond in a strangely neutral tone, "okay."

Before he is able to respond, the door violently bends inward while she shouts from the other side, "then open this door right now!!!"

With the door somehow holding, he slowly sits back and slides down into the tub then plugs his ears while whimpering, "I just wanna sleep….."

Back in town, Burchard and Yuzuru continue to walk down Main Street while Yuzuru thinks of ways to win his heart. This thought is interrupted however when she hears him ask, "you hungry?"

She looks over and sees him pointing at the café next to them which intern causes a light bulb to go off in her head while saying, "confirmation: yuzuru is feeling a bit peckish."

He smiles back at her while responding, "glad to hear cause I just realized that I haven't actually eaten anything all day."

She looks back at him with mild surprise while saying, "confirmation: then let's hurry."

As they walk in she thinks to herself, "confidence: he will not stand a chance with what Yuzuru has on the menu."

They sit down at a table and Burchard casually looks at his menu as Yuzuru thoroughly studies each item on hers while thinking, "intrigue: what would be the best way to his heart?"

A thought comes to mind as she puts a hand to her chin while thinking, "intrigue: parfaits would be the obvious choice so Yuzuru will get that, though he said he was hungry so a proper meal would be preferred. Yuzuru should prepare a plan for anything he gets."

Burchard continues to look at the menu but for some strange reason he feels like he's being watched. When he looks up he sees Yuzuru peering over the top of her menu at him which in it of itself wasn't a big deal however it is the look of determination she sported while looking at him that made him feel uneasy. Unsure of what to do he simply asks, "uh… see anything you like?"

Realizing she was caught staring, her cheeks turn red from embarrassment while she hides behind her menu and says, "response: Yuzuru is still looking."

From behind her menu she can hear him attempting to stifle a laugh causing her to peek over the menu once more while asking, "inquiry: what is funny?"

He is able to stop laughing then looks at her with a smile while replying, "sorry. It's just that you act pretty adorable when you get embarrassed."

The comment turns her whole face red as she once more hides behind her menu while responding, "rebuttal: uh-uh noted."

As he starts chuckling again though he becomes mildly confused by the steam emanating off of her head while she continues to hide and think, "confusion : is he trying to make Yuzuru fall for him?"

A warm feeling slowly grows within her chest but she quickly fights it off while thinking, "rebuttal: he is simply being nice to Yuzuru and nothing more."

As she thinks this thought, their waitress walks over to them. Burchard motions to Yuzuru who looks up at the waitress while saying, "order: Yuzuru will have the deluxe couples parfait."

Burchard looks at her surprised since they didn't agree to share anything until she continues, "continuation: Yuzuru only requires one spoon."

He look at her still surprised but simply shrugs it off while thinking, "guess she's just hungry."

He orders a cheeseburger and fries then after a few minutes of waiting, their food arrives. Though he was excited to take a bite out of the first food he'd had all day, he becomes slightly distracted by Yuzuru's parfait that is large enough for her to hide behind. Since she was hidden he couldn't see her sitting there with a look of mild shock at the pile of strawberries, whipped cream and cake that now sits in front of her which causes her to think, "surprise: there was no indication that it would be this big? Now he can't watch Yuzuru seductively eat it."

She sighs disheartedly while digging her spoon into the massive dessert. After a few bites she hears a voice from the other side of her dessert asking, "how is it?"

Too annoyed by her plan being foiled to try anything she simply replies, "reply: it is good."

From the other side of the dessert he responds, "glad to hear. Can I try some?"

Not thinking anything of it she replies, "rebuttal: you can…."

She pauses mid sentence when a mischievous thought comes to mind as she remembers all the times he has made her feel embarrassed which causes her to think, "idea: Yuzuru can use this to get back at him."

She casually pushes the dessert to the side and proceeds to gently bite her spoon while asking, "confirmation: you wish to partake as well?"

He looks at her with an innocent smile though this doesn't entirely hide the feeling of suspicion that was growing within him as he thinks, "she's up to something."

Instead of dwelling on it further, he decides shake his suspicion away while thinking, "nah. I don't think there's anything she can do."

He focuses back on Yuzuru who continues to bite her spoon while replying, "yeah. It looks good."

She starts to innocently smile at him while saying, "confirmation: very well."

She scoops a mixture of cake and whipped cream up then proceeds to stand up and leans forward with one hand on the table and the other holding the spoon out to him while saying, "Direction: say aw."

His cheeks turn mildly red as he sits there silently while continuing to look at her spoon which intern causes her to mischievously grin while thinking, "victory: it appears that Yuzuru is finally having….."

This thought however gets cut off by him chomping down on her spoon which leaves her shocked while thinking, "confusion: though his cheeks were showing it. He did not act embarrassed. In fact he seemed to act with more confidence and was even a little forceful."

She continues to look at him with mild shock while he slowly leans back and starts to look at her with a satisfied smile while saying, "your right that was pretty good."

She on the other hand sighs disheartening while sitting back down and digging her spoon back into her parfait and saying, "confirmation: glad you liked it."

While munching on his fries, he notices her holding up and looking very intently at her dessert filled spoon. Though she looked calm on the outside, on the inside she was panicking while thinking, "confusion: it makes no sense. He's seen Yuzuru in a nothing but a towel, he's seen Yuzuru in her underwear. He has even had Yuzuru's chest press against him numerous times now."

She starts to stare aggressively at the spoon while continuing her thought, "then why is Yuzuru hesitating? Yes he ate using this spoon but that shouldn't matter. It would just be an indirect k-ki-kiss."

She continues to stare at her spoon while trying to mentally force herself to eat it until she hear him asking, "you okay?"

She comes back to reality and looks forward to see Burchard looking back at her with a look of worry which prompts her to reply, "rebuttal: Yuzuru is okay."

The look of worry does not leave him as he continues to look at her while asking, "then why is your face so red?"

She blinks at him a few times as his words register and she finally notices the warm feeling that was filling her entire face. Not knowing what to do she casually looks to her side while responding, "rebuttal: Yuzuru doesn't know what…. You…."

Her words slowly trail off when she notices the mirror decorating the wall next to her which to her horror finally reveals the bright red tomato complexion that her entire face was unfortunately sporting. She sits there frozen in place while thinking, "confusion: what is happening to Yuzuru?"

Coming to a sudden realization, she starts to glare at Burchard through her peripheral vision while thinking, "realization: this is your fault."

Meanwhile a still concerned Burchard feels a chill run down his spine from Yuzuru's glaring eye which causes him to ask, "uh? Did I do something to annoy you?"

She turns her head to face him and with her expression softening, she eats the dessert from the spoon she was still holding while replying, "rebuttal: you have done nothing wrong."

Her thoughts on the other hand, "determination: Yuzuru will make you pay for making her feel this way. Yuzuru will make you fall for her not only for the competition but as payback for this injustice."

She starts aggressively eating her parfait to the confusion of Burchard who decides to simply shrug it of while thinking, "guess she really was hungry."

After a few more minutes of aggressive eating, she finishes the last bite of her parfait ironically enough as he eats his last fry. She puts her spoon down with a satisfied sigh though she is brought out of her feeling of bliss by the sound of snickering coming from in front of her. As she looks forward she becomes confused by the sight of Burchard holding back a laugh which in turn causes her to ask, "confusion: what is so funny?"

He stops chuckling but is still smiling while pointing at his cheek and saying, "uh, you got something?"

She blinks a few times while trying to figure out what he meant until finally feeling something on her cheek. Realizing that some whipped cream had made its way onto her face causes a feeling of embarrassment to come over her but realizing she has an opportunity, she leans forward while asking, "inquiry: can you get it for Yuzuru?"

Now wary of her true intentions, he decides to play it safe and reaches for a napkin while replying, "sure thing."

His hand stops though when he notices something missing, the napkin holder that he could have sworn was full a second ago was now empty. Now suspicious, he looks at Yuzuru who looks back at him with an innocent smile. He stares back at her with a suspicious raised eyebrow which prompts her to ask, "inquiry: is something the matter?"

Realizing that he didn't see her take the napkins causes him to shake his head then smile while replying, "nope, nothing at all."

She continues to smile back while saying, "confirmation: glad to hear."

She continues to smile at him while silently stuffing the napkins, she stole from the holder while he wasn't looking, into her purse under the table. With no other course of action, he cautiously reaches out while Yuzuru leans forward and presents her cheek to him and thinks, "excitement: good, as soon as you touch Yuzuru's cheek you will fall right into my trap."

His hand makes contact with her cheek and he gently wipes away the whipped cream with his thumb. As he's cleaning her cheek, he feels something odd coming from the way she looked at him, just a moment ago she had been looking at him with such intent but now her eyes had softened. Now they we're almost mesmerized by his hand and though he can't hear it, her thoughts were saying the same thing, "intrigue: Yuzuru has held his hand before but she never knew it was this soft….. this gentle."

With her mind focused so much on his hand, she failed to notice he wiped off all the whipped cream and was now sitting back down and waving a hand in front of her while asking, "you in there?"

Coming back to reality she looks back at him surprised while saying, "confirmation: Yuzuru is here."

He chuckles a bit then licks the whipped cream off his thumb and says, "good, you look like you zoned out there."

Now curious he asks, "what were you thinking about?"

Still slightly dazed and not thinking she replies, "something soft…."

They both now look at each other wide eyed from ironically enough noticing the same thing though for completely different reasons as a now confused Burchard asks, "what was soft?"

She blinks at him a few times while desperately trying to think of what to say but luckily for her, the waitress happens to walk over to them with a camera and asks, "excuse me you two? Would you like a Polaroid picture?"

Using this as an opportunity to change the subject, Yuzuru replies, "confirmation: that would be great."

The waitress smiles then takes a step back while saying, "alright, scoot together you two."

Figuring she really wanted to change the subject, Burchard decides to forget her soft comment then scoots his chair next to her while saying, "a souvenir would be nice."

They lean in close to each other and face the waitress while she fiddles with the camera. Though she is showing a small smile, Yuzuru continues have a feeling of annoyance within her while thinking, "annoyance: no matter what Yuzuru does, she fails to make him fall for her. On top of that, he continues to turn every attempt to make him fall for her against Yuzuru and makes her feel flustered instead."

The waitress raises her camera while saying, "alright! Say cheese!"

Burchard continues to look forward and smile but just as the camera flashes, he feels something touch his cheek. Not sure what happened he thinks, "what was that feeling?"

He leans away while touches his cheek and is surprised to feel something wet but he still can't figure out what happened. He looks over at Yuzuru hoping to get some answers but is surprised to see her already standing and looking away from him and at the door while saying, "confirmation: it is late and Yuzuru would like to look at one of the souvenir stalls outside."

Still kinda thrown off by the quick succession off events, he decides to simply agree while saying, "yeah sure. Just give me a minute to pay."

Yuzuru continues to look away but to his surprise she starts walking away while saying, "confirmation: Yuzuru will wait outside."

Burchard now finds himself sitting alone and very confused as to not only why he was now alone but also why Yuzuru was suddenly acting so strangely. His thought however gets interrupted by the sound of snickering and when he looks up he is confused to see the waitress holding back a laugh while looking at a polaroid picture which causes him to ask, "what's so funny?"

Realizing that she was caught, the waitress smiles at him guiltily while replying, "sorry, you just look so lost right now."

Nodding in agreement he responds, "yeah, Im honestly lost right now."

Handing the photo to Burchard, the waitress says, "this might help."

Burchard takes the photo and after looking at it for only a second, he goes wide eyed and with his cheeks turning a rosy red, he finally realizes what happened. He starts to chuckle while looking at the door Yuzuru had left through then while smiling saying to himself, "I think my heart just skipped a beat."

Outside, Yuzuru stands among a group of people and looks at the different trinkets that sit on the souvenir table while thinking, "intrigue: maybe a gift will win him over?"

As she continues to think about what to get him, she hears a voice next to her ask, "see anything you like?"

Too deep in thought to recognize the voice, she asks who she thinks is the shopkeeper, "inquiry: what do you think would win over a boys heart?"

After a brief pause, the mysterious shopkeeper replies, "hmm, if it's from a girl as cute as you. I don't think it really matters."

Annoyed by the unwanted compliment she responds while still looking at the table, "rebuttal: Yuzuru does not appreciate your compliment."

The shopkeeper asks with intrigue, "oh? So you don't like being called cute?"

Caught off guard but feeling the need to respond she says while still looking at the table, "rebuttal: Yuzuru does like being called cute but only by her dear Burchard."

The shopkeeper goes quiet and assuming she had gotten her points across she is about to ask them an actual question about the souvenirs but gets caught off guard by the sudden sound of laughter. When she finally looks over to the shopkeeper, she is shocked to see, to the surprise of everyone except the reader, Burchard standing there laughing his ass off. Yuzuru continues to stand there speechless and slowly turns beet red while Burchard is able to calm himself enough to say while still smiling, "well it is good to know you like when I call you cute."

Realizing that she had no way of talking her way out of this, she sighs in annoyance then responds, "annoyance: you should have told Yuzuru it was you."

Burchard chuckles again then replies, "well you should consider this payback for what you did during the photo."

She look at him with a raised eyebrow while asking, "inquiry: oh? So you found out what Yuzuru did?"

He nods while holding up the photo and saying, "you definitely caught me off guard with that."

Hearing this causes her to look at him with a sly grin while asking, "inquiry: does that mean you are finally falling for Yuzuru?"

He looks at her with a grin then shrugging his shoulders while replying, "you would have known that if you actually stayed in the restaurant."

She sighs disheartedly in response then says, "annoyance: then Yuzuru's work isn't finished."

He shakes his head while still smiling and saying, "nope."

He looks down at the table while asking, "so have you found out which one will win a boys heart?"

Annoyed by the question she looks back at the table while replying, "rebuttal: if you would have answered Yuzuru before, she would have."

He chuckles a bit then says, "well here's a hint, as long as it's from you. I'm sure this mystery boy will like it."

She becomes even more annoyed but decides to keep that in mind while still browsing the different trinkets but pauses when she feels something that was a complete surprise to her which causes her to look back at him with a confused expression while asking, "inquiry: Yuzuru didn't think you would be so bold?"

He looks back at her with an equally as confused look while asking, "what do you mean?"

She looks back at him with a raised eyebrow while asking, "inquiry: is that not your hand?"

Now even more confused by her statement he starts looking around to try and understand what she meant but soon realizes what she was talking back when he sees a hand that was not his squeezing her rear end. Following the hand up he sees an older man standing behind her and pretending to be sight seeing. With a growing rage building within him, Burchard grabs the man's wrist while shouting, "what the hell are you doing!"

The sudden out burst causes the other tourists to look over at the scene unfolding but the man quickly let's go of Yuzuru before anyone could see and shouts, "let go of me! What is your problem?"

Burchard let's go of his wrist but doesn't let him off the hook and instead he shouts, "what's my problem? You were groping Yuzuru!!!"

Hoping no one saw what he did, the man decides to double down shouting, "no I didn't! I might have accidentally brushed against her but to say I groped her is insulting!!! I demand an apology!!!"

Insulted by the gull of this pervert, Burchard shouts back, "like hell I'll apologize to you!!!"

He jesters to Yuzuru, who was standing next to him with a worried look, while continuing, "if anything you need to apologize to Yuzuru!"

Before the man could say anything in response, another tourist steps in saying, "easy buddy. It looks like it was just an accident. You need to calm down."

Another tourist adds, "yeah. You don't need to be so over defensive with your girlfriend."

Realizing the crowd was on his side, the man starts to cheekily grin to the anger of Burchard who snaps back, "you don't accidentally just fully grab someone's ass!"

The man still grins and with a chip on his shoulder he says while pointing at Burchard, "you hear this idiot? I swear all Americans act like they are always right."

Not noticing the dirty looks he was starting to get from the crowd, Burchard is about to snap back at him but stops when he feels something cling to his arm. When he looks over, he sees Yuzuru standing there gripping his arm but for some strange reason she looks at the ground while saying, "inquiry: please... let us leave this place."

His confusion turns to concern when he hears the shaking in her voice but not willing to let the perv get away with what he did, Burchard says, "sorry but I can't let him get away with this."

Hearing this causes her to look up at him which is when he finally saw the look of concern and worry covering her face as she asks, "please. We need to go."

Still not wanting to let it go, he finally looks around at the crowd of now angry tourists and realizes why she was worried, so he gently takes her hand then starts guiding Yuzuru out of the crowd while saying, "good job defending a pervert everyone."

They leave the crowd though Burchard pauses to the dismay of Yuzuru but before she could say anything, Burchard looks back while saying in a matter of fact tone, "and I am Canadian!"

With that Burchard starts walking again while still holding Yuzuru's hand but for some reason, the perverted man shouts to them, "you know miss. Your boyfriend has a real nasty temper. I suggest you get rid of that loser."

Burchard decides to ignores this last comment, Yuzuru however stops dead in her tracks which causes Burchard to stop in front of her. Confused he looks back but feels a cold chill run down his spine from the glare she was now sporting. Her eye starts to twitch as she slowly looks back at the cheekily grinning man. She takes a deep breath in then calmly tells him, "rebuttal: my dear Burchard is not only a better man than you ever will be."

She holds their held hands up then continues, "his hand is also far softer than yours."

A look of shock comes over the man as he notices the glares from the tourists that were once on his side as he comes to the unfortunate realization that he should have stopped while ahead.

With the crowd now turning on the pervert, Yuzuru looks back at a now shocked Burchard and asks, "inquiry: let's go."

Burchard simply nods in agreement and they continue their walk back to the hotel.

The walk back to the hotel was silent. Though they continued to hold hands, Yuzuru had slowly fallen behind Burchard to the point of almost being pulled along. While they walked, Yuzuru looks at the ground with a feeling of sadness and thinking, "doubt: Yuzuru failed. Not only has Burchard not fallen for Yuzuru….."

Her head tilts up and she looks at the back of his head while thinking, "but he could have been harmed due to Yuzuru's inaction."

"Im sorry."

Caught off guard, Yuzuru watches as Burchard stops walking and while still looking away continues, "I let my anger blind me from the danger around us. I needlessly put you in harms way and even when you ask to go I wasn't willing to listen until I saw how scared you were."

He look back at her and she is finally able to see the sadness he felt while continuing, "and I should have been more aware of the people around you. I messed up big time in not protecting you and hope you can forgive me for that."

She is only able to look back at him wide eyed while a mix of emotions flow through her as she thinks, "shock: he was that worried about Yuzuru?"

To his confusion she starts to smile warmly back at him which causes him to ask, "shouldn't you be mad at me?"

She shakes her head then replies, "rebuttal: why would I be mad at my dear Burchard?"

He sighs disheartedly then replies, "because I didn't protect you."

To his confusion, she once again shakes her head then responds, "rebuttal: Yuzuru is happy because you were there to protect her. She was happy that you were willing to defend her from that pervert. She is happy because you are here with her."

Before he could respond, Yuzuru clings to his arm while continuing, "please continue to protect and take care of and be with Yuzuru."

Shocked by the turn of events along with the strange feeling of having his arm being held gently for once, he finds himself unsure of what to do so he decides to simply smile while responding, "I will."

With that, they continue their walk back to the hotel in much higher spirits while yuzuru thinks to herself, "confirmation: though Yuzuru is struggling to make him fall for her, this is becoming Yuzuru's favourite competition by far."
