I've noticed I've probably given Vanya too much emotion, not going to change but, I will be setting season 2 watching as a few days later, so she has time to get off the meds and start with her powers, also let's me make a short epilogue for the season 1 bit, and yes, they're going after Harold.
The scene opened on Allison's car driving down the road still, thinking back to her time with Claire, giving a story about the Umbrella Academy and why Vanya wasn't with them on missions, and using her powers to make Claire go to sleep, which Patrick saw, making him storm away.
"Allison." Vanya said sharply.
"You think I don't hate myself for it?" Allison asked. "I regret it every day, I'm a monster."
"You're not a monster, you were under pressure, it happens." Vanya reassured her. "I was just shocked by you doing it."
"Thanks, Vanya, but I am a monster." Allison told her.
"You're really not." Everyone else told her.
Allison then remembered several rumours she did to better her life, ending with "I heard a Rumour that you loved me."
"Wait, who was that last one too?" Luther asked.
"Patrick." Allison quickly said, avoiding his gaze. She couldn't tell him the truth, ever. That one she swore to herself, even with all of this with their secrets coming out.
"Allison?" Klaus asked, shocked.
"It was Patrick!" She insisted. "Do you guys think I would have used it on Luther?"
"No..." Diego said slowly, still unsure himself. "Younger you was quite liberal with using it though."
Allison sped up, the next morning finding herself at Leonard's cabin, with him and Vanya nowhere to be seen, as a crow surprised her.
"You need to be careful, we don't know what Jenkins will do." Diego told her.
"You know I will be." Allison huffed. "We can handle one guy with no powers."
"I'm sure we can, but we can't underestimate him." Five stated.
Vanya was asleep in a chair, as Leonard shook her awake, saying they had to leave, Leonard saying he didn't want to discuss it and wanted them to go home. Vanya asked what happened to the three injured men, one being there, the other two were dead. Leonard asked about the one who made it, being told he was in critical condition but alive.
"So now he's sneaking out of the hospital?" Vanya asked. "Does this guy want to die?"
"I'm happy to oblige him." Diego smirked.
"Why does he want to know about the survivor?" Klaus wondered.
"Wait….he didn't stage the attack, did he?" Five realised, eyes widening.
"That bastard!" Vanya exclaimed.
The scene changed to show Luther waking in his bed with the girl from the disco, shocked to see himself naked.
"OOO!" Klaus cheered.
Luther blushed as Allison gave him a single raised eyebrow.
"You know it won't happen this time, Allison."
"I know, I wanted to see your reaction." Allison reassured him, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
Klaus began to ring a bell to awaken them, talking to Luther about needing to get laid, with Luther panicking about what he did. Klaus figured out that Luther was a virgin and had finally lost his virginity.
"Really? You're still a virgin, big guy?" Diego asked, shocked.
Luther said nothing, cheeks aflame.
"Don't worry, we'll deal with that." Allison whispered into his ear, doing nothing to help his blush.
Klaus stated that he had important family business to discuss and Luther had to hurry. Giving Luther some coffee to wake him and Five, annoying both of them. Klaus then revealed, despite Ben's objections, that Reginald had killed himself.
"Well, that's a shock for sure." Ben noted.
"We won't believe you." Luther told them all, as Five nodded.
"Nah, not a chance." Five stated.
Luther chose to ignore him, before Klaus revealed it was the only way to get them all back, angering Luther when Klaus mentioned the Moon, before Pogo came in and confirmed it was the truth, that Grace had also helped.
"So, yeah, well done Dad. Amazing plan." Diego snarkily told him as Reginald fumed.
"Did it get you all back?" Reginald countered.
"He's got you there." Klaus reasoned.
Pogo explained that Reginald hoped them being together would make them want to reform the Academy so they could save the world, before Luther exploded, asking if there was any other secrets. Pogo explained it was Reginald's dying wish that Pogo not tell them, that he let them figure out the mystery, before Luther told him there was always a choice to do what he did.
"I know, and I'm sorry for deceiving all of you." Pogo admitted sadly.
"I guess you were just listening to Dad, I've fallen for that for many years too." Luther admitted.
Back at the cabin, Leonard and Vanya returned, with them arguing, Vanya claiming she had murdered them, with Leonard saying it wasn't her fault, that she wasn't a screw up, saying maybe they could control it.
"I hate to admit but he has a point, you didn't mean too, and I'm sure you could learn to control it." Allison told Vanya.
"I know, still feels like I've done something bad though." Vanya explained.
"I guess, but this time, you won't kill these men, just think of it that way." Klaus told her with a smile.
Hazel and Agnes sat in a traffic jam, discussing their plans to be at a bird sanctuary and visiting a vegan donut stop, Hazel dying inside as Agnes said they had at least three years to see everything.
"Will he tell her about the end?" Luther questioned.
"I don't know, I'd think so, but why would he tell her they're both about to die?" Five asked.
Allison sat in the same traffic jam, seeing a cop investigating the incident with Vanya from the night before, noticing Vanya's scarf. Speaking to a cop, he recognised Allison and fangirled over her, before dispatch told him that the guy from the hospital was awake. Allison asked to accompany him to study for a new role as a cop, with him eventually agreeing to let her tag alone if she didn't do anything except watch him at work.
"I guess being famous does have its perks." Vanya smirked as Allison flushed.
"It's not all good, as you've seen." Allison told her, Vanya nodding.
"At least it'll help you to find Vanya quicker." Diego noted.
"That's a perk for sure." Allison admitted.
Diego was visited by Beaman in a holding cell, being told he was being transferred upstate. Beaman stated that Diego was there, with means, possible motive and opportunity. Him and Beaman sharing a moment about Diego's "shit" causing a "contentious relationship". Before Beaman shook Diego's hand, passing him the key to his cell.
"Beaman is on your side, hooray!" Klaus stated.
"Well I'll be damned, didn't think he would risk his career like that." Diego said, shocked at what he had seen.
"He knows you'd never do that." Luther told him. "At least some of the police in this city still have braincells."
"Beaman is one of the good ones." Diego admitted.
The scene changed to Vanya playing the violin at the cabin, as Leonard opened Reginald's book back in the cabin and read up more about Reginald's attempts to control Vanya's powers. Using a tuning fork to get her to use her powers to break a row of glasses, breaking one, he encouraged her to go again.
"Wow, Dad being somewhat patient and supportive? Are we living in a parallel world?" Klaus asked.
"Nah, I guess he just became an even bigger dick when we were older." Ben told him.
Leonard tried to get Vanya to use her powers, telling her to remember how it felt with the guys at the bar, recalling it, as Vanya called it terrifying, he called it extraordinary.
"It's both." Vanya asserted now.
Five asked Klaus to get ready to save the world, explaining that Reginald knew the apocalypse was coming, and that they needed to figure it out. Running into Diego, Diego explained that Allison was in danger.
"I've said I'll be fine before, besides, you guys will catch me up if I really need the support." Allison assured them.
The scene changed to the past again, showing Vanya become resistant to her training, Reginald angering her to break all the glass in the area, including his monocle, before realising she was causing a storm outside, dismissing her.
"Baby Vanya was a bit of a brat, huh?" Klaus remarked as Vanya rolled her eyes at him.
"No, I was already clearly done with Dad's bullshit." She winked at him as Klaus chuckled.
Vanya in the present noted the sounds she could hear at the moment, Leonard encouraging her to use her powers, focusing on just one sound, as she did, she caused the wind to increase before it shook the trees as it exploded out of her. Vanya struggling to breath as Leonard cheered her on, laughing as Vanya began to celebrate herself. He explained her ability had to be tied to her emotions, saying he was guessing that must be the cause.
"Sureeee." Diego drawled.
"You are pretty powerful though like I said before, Vanya." Five told her. "I'd recommend we train it as soon as we can, so you don't hurt yourself when using these powers."
"Plenty of time for that once we know how Jenkins causes the apocalypse and stop it." Luther stated.
Luther was sat drinking in a bar, with a missing poster for Helen nearby, as Klaus, Diego and Five collected him, Luther and Diego talking about how bad a father Reginald Hargreeves was, Luther saying he was done with everyone and everything, Diego telling him that Allison needed help, startling Luther into action.
"I really hope Helen isn't hurt this time." Vanya worried, biting her lip.
"We'll keep her safe, no worry." Klaus reassured her.
"So we can get you moving just by saying Allison, eh?" Diego smirked as Allison hit him.
"I can take you down myself, Diego." Allison sweetly smiled at him.
At Griddy's, Cha-Cha saw a sign from Agnes, breaking into to the shop, she found a brochure detailing where they were going, setting off in pursuit of them, after setting the shop ablaze.
"Never leave a paper trail." Five groaned, as the rest of them felt shocked at seeing a place they had frequented since they were children burning.
At the hospital, Allison and Sergeant Chedder asked the survivor about the attack, he explained that he and his friends were hired to attack Leonard, to scare her in front of him. He explained they got drunk and took it too far, then all hell broke loose. Allison accidentally admitted that she was looking for Leonard and Vanya, explaining that Vanya was missing and Allison needed to find them, before a nurse told them both to leave until later.
"Yep, he's utter scum." Allison said.
"I can't believe you let your alibi fall to pieces like that, got to keep emotion out of it, especially when dealing with the law." Klaus told her with a smirk.
"Do I want to know what you did to learn that?" Allison asked.
"Probably not." Klaus admitted.
The scene changed again to show Leonard and Vanya talking over lunch, Leonard reassuring her that she was special, as Vanya told him she needed to practise the violin, not her powers right now, as her concert was the next day. Leonard pushed her, saying that she needed to focus on her powers, as they were important, backing down when she said her music was important too. As she practised, Leonard grabbed his coat and left.
He's way too power hungry, clearly want to use your powers to get revenge on all of us." Allison said as Vanya nodded.
Five just looked at the screen and frowned. No, surely not...
Hazel and Agnes pulled into their motel, with Hazel asking her that if she only had two days left, where would she go? Hazel told her she had a day to get there and a day to live, she said she would choose to be anywhere with him. Hazel said he needed to go deal with something, that she should go see the birds without him, taking their suitcases inside. He said he would back the next day and that she would safe at the motel until his return the next day. She finally let him go after a kiss as Cha-Cha drove towards them.
"What is he planning?" Luther asked.
"I'm not sure, something stupid no doubt." Five replied.
"Maybe he wants to help us?" Klaus pondered.
"If I find him, I'll kick his ass." Diego said.
Back at the cabin, Vanya came back in to find Leonard had left, the door slamming shut behind her. Searching in a panic, she found no sign of him, before a memory hit her of Reginald taking Vanya to a secret room below the Academy, with Pogo standing by a huge metal door, putting Vanya into the dark room by herself, the two of them locked her in, Reginald leaving, Pogo moving out of sight.
"Wow, that's a real prick move." Diego whistled.
"Giving up so easily? There's the Dad we all love to hate." Klaus remarked.
"So you couldn't be bothered trying to train me? One angry explosion too many and that's it?" Vanya asked incredulously. Reginald chose to ignore them all.
As Vanya remembered this, she looked at her hands, shaking, calling for Leonard again, she remembered his words, as she focused her violin playing to hone her powers, as the wind rose, making the lights swing and her hair fly, ripples appearing across the lake.
"Wow, you're really powerful, Vanya." Allison praised her.
"Thanks, Allison." Vanya smiled.
Back at the hospital, Allison and Sergeant Chedder found out the last guy from the bar had vanished, Allison finding out that Vanya and Leonard had been at the hospital that morning. Chedder told her to wait there as it could be dangerous, before she headed off anyway.
"Poor guy." Luther grinned.
"Never tell me to wait anywhere." Allison told them all as they nodded. She could be scary even without her powers if she wanted to be.
Reaching the cabin, she saw Vanya playing as the wind whipped around her, disturbing Vanya, she asked what was causing all the weird wind, as Allison explained she was looking for Vanya.
"I really hope I don't remember what I did to you." Allison told Vanya quietly, who frowned.
"You mean the rumour? I didn't hold it against you, it was Dad's fault, you were just a kid."
"Yeah, but this version of you hasn't had these bonding clips, she will probably be far angrier, having being poisoned against us by Leonard."
"Oh God." Vanya said, thinking with what they knew of her powers, what she could do.
Vanya told her how she had powers, Allison just casually accepting it, the two of them arguing, before Allison revealed that Leonard's real name is Harold Jenkins, and that he was a convicted murderer. Trying to get Vanya to come with her, as Vanya argued that it couldn't be real.
"Really need to get out of this denial stage, Van." Klaus teased.
Allison told Vanya that she wanted to be there for Vanya, as Vanya said she loved Leonard. Beginning to cry as her emotions started to get the better of her, Allison said that she understood now, telling Vanya about what she did to her as a kid, how she didn't think anything of it, but now she realised what she had done.
"Oh crap." Allison said aloud, head in her hands as she feared what may happen next.
"You did this to me?" Vanya asked, as Allison tried to defend herself, apologising and saying she didn't know. Vanya launched into an attack, saying how Allison couldn't handle her being special, Allison saying she was special, how they could be a family with no secrets, Vanya saying Leonard was the only one who cared for her and never lied to her.
"I'm so sorry, Allison." Vanya told her.
"No, I am, we should have done more for you." Allison replied.
"Look, the only one to blame here is Dad for being such a prick of a father." Five said. "Now, shall we finish this one? Can't be long left."
Her powers stirring up, Vanya asked Allison to "Look me in the eye and tell me you're not threatened by me.", as Allison tried to keep her calm, she apologised.
"I'm about to do something very stupid, aren't I?" Allison asked, dread creeping into her.
"I heard a ru-" Her voice cut off as Vanya whipped her bow towards her, a thin cut covering her neck, as blood began to pour out of her throat, and Allison dropped to the floor.
"ALLISON!" Vanya screamed, seeing her hit the floor, Allison stared at the screen in shock.
"I'm so sorry." Allison said, finding her voice.
"Why? I'm the one who did it, I'm so so sorry." Vanya cried, feeling tears streaming down her face at the sight of what the other her had done.
"I pushed you into it, it was my fault." Allison said firmly.
Vanya rushed forward and grabbed onto her, apologising and telling Allison to hold on, trying to help her, as Leonard came back and saw the scene.
"YOU FUCKER!" Luther roared at the screen, seeing Vanya being pulled away and Allison being left to bleed out on the floor alone.
"Easy big guy, he can't hear you." Diego told him. "When he's in front of us, begging us to let him go, then you can scream yourself hoarse at him." Diego promised him.
Dragging Vanya away, as she cried and tried to grab onto Allison, he pulled her to the car and drove away with her, as the rest of the Hargreeves kids arrived, Luther grabbing Allison's lifeless body and crying.
"I'm sure I'll be fine." Allison tried to reassure Luther, worried herself.
"I want to be so angry, angry at the world, angry at Vanya." Luther explained as Vanya shrunk into herself again. "But I can't. I can't guarantee that version of me will understand, but seeing all of this, I get it. Everyone here made a bunch of mistakes, and I think we can all agree the only one at fault in these is Leonard. When we do get a hold of him though, I might not be too gentle." Luther growled as the others nodded.
"None of us would expect you to be." Klaus assured him. "I plan on having a few choice words myself."
"So do I." Diego confirmed.
"I'm sure Vanya and I can think of a few ways to shake him up too." Allison said.
"Oh I want the honour of killing him." Five said. "He not only ended the world, made me suffer through forty five years of Hell, but he harmed both of my sisters. I want his head."
