So all that talk that it may be a while before I uploaded season 2, surprise! Though I can promise episode 2 will not be before Tuesday, and after that, episode 3 would be next Sunday at the earliest.
"So, here we go." Ben said, as the screen turned on.
"Here we go." Klaus nodded as they all gasped, the memories of what their other selves had lived, what they had seen, hit them all at once as the show began.
The screen opened with Pogo once more narrating what had happened at the end "Ironically the six survivors of the apocalypse were the very siblings who brought it on." It showed a blue beam then Klaus and Ben landed in an alleyway. Ben asked where Five was, as Klaus shouted for the others, before they saw a cinema across the road. Heading onto the street, they noticed a sign saying "Dallas" Scaring some locals, they found a magazine that read "February 11th, 1960."
"So, 1960 huh?" Luther asked.
"Will we all end up there?" Allison wondered.
"With just them showing up then, I think not." Five reasoned.
"Where are the rest of us?" Vanya asked, terrified. Sure, she had seen what they did, but now to remember it, that was something far worse. The others flinched slightly at her words, now remembering what their other selves had, subconsciously scaring them a little.
"I guess we will see." Diego said, unsure, wanting to finger one of his knives.
"Shit." Ben and Klaus said to one another before "Dallas, Texas, 1960" appeared on the screen. "1961" flashed up as Allison landed in a heap in the same alleyway, a man taking a photo of her as she headed towards the nearby diner.
"Well, there I am, but who is that?" Allison queried.
"I have no idea." Five glared at the screen. Was he a Commission plant? Had they already discovered his plot?
Heading inside, she was glared at until the owner pointed out a "Whites Only" sign, shocking her even more than she already was.
"The 1960's were an especially disturbing time for people of colour." Pogo noted sadly as the others looked angry at the screen and the man on it.
Luther landed on a dumpster, screaming out for his siblings, repeatedly shouting Allison as a homeless man joined in the shouting, with "1962" on the screen.
"Sadly, I don't think I'm there." Allison said. She wanted to give him a kiss, to reassure him, but with the memories of what had happened in the other timeline, she was conflicted about it now, could she really date him?
"I'll find you, whenever, wherever." Luther promised her, in his mind, thinking the same things.
Diego landed on one knee "September 1st 1963" as the camera on auto took a photo of him, Diego rushed to help a woman being robbed, getting her purse back for her, seeing JFK address the nation on tv, Diego stared at it in grim determination.
"Diego, what are you planning?" Five asked, worried for the timeline.
"I don't know, do I?" Diego defended himself.
Vanya landed on the floor with "October 12th 1963" on the screen, stumbling into the road, confused, she was hit by a car, as a young woman and her son looked over her in concern.
"Vanya! Are you alright?" Allison asked her.
"I don't know, I imagine so, though?" Vanya said.
Five landed in a puddle in the alleyway, shouting for the others, before hearing gunfire behind him, turning he saw tanks and soldiers waving the flag of the Soviet Union, with "November 25th 1963" on the screen.
"What did you do?" Reginald asked, exasperated at everyone else..
"Us? Maybe this wasn't us?" Diego asked.
"I'll believe that when pigs fly." Five grumbled. "Always got to look after you children."
Five saw bombers flying overhead, and grabbed a nearby newspaper, reading "Soviets Attack US!" "JFK declares war!"
"Wait, JFK declares war?" Diego asked, picking up on that point. "He's not assassinated?"
"That must be it." Allison reasons. "JFK lives and World War Three happens."
Seeing Soviet troops being held by US forces on the street, he winces as a tank fires a shell by his ear, before it's stopped by Vanya, rising into the air and causing the shell to explode.
"Wow." Vanya breathed, watching her on screen counterpart. She remembered the feeling of such power from the theatre, she knew she could perform such powerful wonders, but to see it, and to see it actually controlled, that was something. With having the memories of what she had done, she could feel the White Violin within her, it wasn't fully active, not yet, but she knew what it could do and it scared her. After this lot of episodes were done, she may look at her pills again, she decided.
By her side, Klaus summoned the spirits of dead US troops, and civilians, having them attack the Soviets who had just killed them.
"That's pretty badass, Klaus." Diego complimented him.
An RPG was fired at Klaus, but Luther jumped in front of taking, taking the blast in his back as Klaus nodded his thanks, whilst Ben used his tentacles above them to grab several and toss them about as he ripped them apart.
"Thanks, big guy." Klaus said to Luther.
"Always here for you, you're my brother, Klaus, just glad Ben is there to help." Luther remarked.
"Ben says he'll always help us." Klaus told them.
Three Soviets found Allison behind them, who spoke "I heard a rumour that I blew your minds" as their heads exploded.
"You got your voice back?" Vanya asked her.
"I guess so, comes in handy again it seems."
Diego flipped over several Soviet troops firing at him, deflecting all their bullets to kill one another, before saying "Five! You sick son of a bitch, where the hell have you been?"
"Oh, you know, all over the time stream." Klaus joked.
Before Five could jump into the fight, a flash of blue beside him appeared as an older man grabbed his arm, turning he saw it was a much older Hazel.
"Hazel?!" Everyone called out, seeing the much older man.
"Guess he got to live a long while after we last saw him." Klaus remarked. "But, where is Agnes?"
"If you want to live, come with me." Hazel told him, as Five asked what was happening, Hazel pointed to a line in the sky and said "No time to explain. Those are nukes, old timer." Five took Hazel's hand and the two of them flashed away as the rest of the Academy stood together, seeing the mushroom cloud rising before they were all swept away and killed.
"RIP us, again." Klaus joked again, trying to lighten up the mood at all the glum faces.
"So, I guess the apocalypse happened again, and we all failed, again." Diego said.
"Failures, all of you." Reginald barked, as they chose yet again to ignore him.
Hazel explained that the timeline had shifted, that everyone was dead and he had taken Five back in time, to the same street but ten days before, to November 15th.
"Ten days to save the world, we can do it this time." Five said, seemingly trying to reassure himself, ignoring the others.
"Where do we start?"
"I'd like to know that." Luther said.
"We? You're one your own pal, I'm just here to keep a promise to Agnes."
"Wait, a promise to her?" Klaus asked, eyes widening.
"Is she?"
"Dead?"
"Yeah."
"Cancer. Took her quick, but we had twenty good years together, just guess forever wasn't in the cards."
"NO!" Klaus said, beating his fist onto the floor, the others in the room looked sad to hear she had died as well, even Diego and Luther.
A bus stopped down the street and three men with white hair got out, as Five apologised for Hazel's loss.
"Oh no..." Five remarked, a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.
"What about the Commission?"
"Yeah, they can't have just given up, can they?" Diego wondered.
"I quit those guys, remember? I don't owe them the fuzz off my peaches." Hazel told him before they clocked the three Commission agents.
"RUN!" Allison called out to the screen.
Hazel told Five to run, putting something in his pocket and setting the briefcase off as the three men pulled their guns and opened fire on the two of them, riddling Hazel with bullets, who slumped onto the bench, dead.
"HAZEL!" Klaus cried. "First Agnes, now Hazel, my ship!"
"At least they're together again?" Allison ventured.
"Hopefully." Five said, a small smile on his face. He liked the idea of that.
Five noticed the briefcase was riddled with holes and now useless as well as the three ,en spread out, seeing the smoke rising and firing at where they knew Five would be. Getting around, they found the briefcase but Five was gone, on the roof of the diner.
"What's the next step?" Luther asked, wondering how Five was meant to find and reunite them all in time.
"I'm sure I'll think of something." Five told him.
Jumping back to the alleyway, Five noticed the camera set up and headed up to find who was spying on him.
"Ah, good idea, maybe find an ally in this time who knows what happened to your siblings, Master Five." Pogo noted. "A good place to start."
Knocking on the door, a man opened another door and asked what he wanted. Five jumped into the room after him as the man panicked. The man asked to know what agency Five worked for, before eventually deciding Five must be an alien after Five noticed his alien obsession, deciding to use it against the man to gain his help and threaten him.
"Sneaky, I love it, I want to be a little green man." Klaus laughed as Reginald's disapproving glare got even tighter.
The man explained how he had seen the temporal anomalies over the years, before Five told him that he needed the help of the man, Elliot, to find the others before the world ended in ten days.
"Elliot? I like the name, a good man." Diego said with a smile.
Elliot showed Five a mugshot of Diego, before jumping away, leaving Elliot scared and confused.
"Well at least you know to start with me, the best choice to help." Diego boasted.
The scene changed to a hospital, with Diego sat in a circle with a bunch of mentally ill patients, Diego telling the doctor about playing the hero to oppose his villainous father, before making a reference to Star Wars, whilst the others looked at him confused, one patient next to him repeatedly laughing to disrupt.
"She's acting way too hard to get involved." Klaus stated.
"Yeah, what's her angle?" Five wondered.
"I'm right though, Dad is the villain." Diego said as the others nodded their agreement, as Reginald stewed more and more. There was far more important issues than him sitting here, being disparaged by his children. He needed to save the world.
Diego admitted he didn't know who the real Diego was, but he was ready to find out, the other patients sarcastically clapping as the doctor smiled at him. The woman said that Diego was full of shit and the doctor saw through it whilst Diego smirked and said the doctor bought the act entirely.
"I bet he didn't fall for it." Klaus remarked.
"Want to wager on it?" Diego asked.
"I'll take an easy five bucks, deal." Klaus shook his hand.
Diego went up to speak to the doctor, asking if he was ready for release, Diego trying to tell them that JFK was going to be killed, scaring the doctor, who left, not noticing Diego had stolen his pen, which the female patient had noticed. As the two of them did art and crafts, she offered her help with Diego's escape. Diego rejecting her as he was a lone wolf, before being told he had a visitor.
"Five bucks please." Klaus said with a smirk as Diego grumbled and handed it over.
"How do you keep money in your harness?" Vanya enquired.
"Trade secret, sis." Diego winked at her.
"So, I guess this is where I meet you." Five said. "Since you have a visitor and the only one who knows you who will know you're there is me."
Heading into the visitation room, he was met with Five, Diego telling Five he was planning to save JFK, after Five noted he had been arrested outside Lee Harvey Oswald's house. Diego told Five his escape plan, before Five told him they were not there to save JFK, and they had to stop the end of the world. Diego laughed and said he could save the President, as the apocalypse was probably caused by it. Diego promised to help once they saved JFK and Diego could go back to kill Hitler as well, Five deciding to tell the guards about the escape plan, choosing to leave Diego there for now, having Diego sedated.
"YOU BASTARD!" Diego roared, swinging at Five in the room, who easily dodged him.
"I haven't done it yet, but I would, you're clearly fixated on Kennedy, we need to ensure the assassination happens, clearly him being alive is in some way the cause, just the fact he declares war on the USSR proves that." Five explained. "Besides, I'll be back for you, that much is obvious."
At a farm house, we see Vanya babysitting a young boy with autism, Vanya saying everything was fine at home, but she still had no memories of her past.
"With what I remember now of the other timeline, all that rage and power, the feeling of her inside me, even now, maybe it's better for everyone if I remember nothing, that I'm just out of the way on a farm." Vanya remarked.
"It won't be like that this time, Vanya, don't worry." Allison flashed her a smile, which Vanya hesitantly returned.
The scene showed a family dinner between the family, discussing Carl, the husband's job, and that they had placed another missing person's ad for her, but they had no bites yet. Carl headed off to work, leaving Vanya with Harlan and Sissy.
"Well, at least they all try to help." Allison said.
Klaus and Ben drove down the road before their car engine gave up, Ben asking why they had to leave San Fransicso, when Klaus explained they were heading back to Dallas. Calling Ben his "Ghost bitch" when Ben said he would refuse to follow him.
"Come on, Ben tries to help you, and all he wants is some time in San Fran to deal with some stuff, and you force him to go? That's cold, bro." Diego told Klaus, as Ben nodded. Maybe one day they could do something that Ben wanted to do?
Ben and Klaus began to fight, Ben saying that nobody needed Klaus' shit, whilst Klaus wondered what unfinished business Ben had in San Francisco, having no body without Klaus, as they fought, a man drove past, seeing what just appeared to be Klaus flailing on the floor.
"I'd love to see the two of you fight when you get a good enough grasp to let Ben interact with you, it would be funny." Five said, as both Ben and Klaus silently vowed they'd do it, just to cheer the little emo up.
The two of them eventually walked in the blistering heat until they found a bar, Klaus tried to hustle some poker, but with Ben refusing to help, he lost everything. He left, but not before stealing the truck keys of one of the gamblers and managing to just escape, driving towards Dallas.
"Nicely done, Klaus." Diego said in approval.
The scene changed once again to show a man entering his home, calling out about the papers today, and speaking to his wife about their upcoming civil rights demonstration.
"So, now the civil rights movement?" Luther asked.
"Are we all into something dangerous?" Allison asked.
"Well we don't know whatever Klaus is running from is dangerous, not yet at least." Five pointed out. "We also haven't seen Luther or yourself yet."
Allison came into view, reciting the article, as the two of them danced in the kitchen, before she sombrely told him not to get his hopes up about Kennedy, before he surprised her with a book, as a pre-anniversary gift. The two of them shared a kiss, as it focused on their wedding photos.
"Mazel tov?" Klaus asked as Luther looked at Allison in shock. They'd definitely need to talk before the next episode started.
In a boxing ring, it showed Luther boxing in an underground ring, being beaten on before recovering to knock out his opponent.
"Such a waste of your talents, Number One." Reginald lamented, Luther trying to ignore his father, not letting the sting of his words show.
Luther approached his boss, who asked him to bring the car around after handing over his winnings.
"Does he look familiar in some way?" Diego asked, trying to rack his brains.
"Probably somehow connected to all of this." Klaus remarked, knowing their penchant for bad luck in the family.
Raymond and Allison sat in the beauty parlour, discussing their plan for the sit in before Kennedy arrived, saying they would sit in, and do it peacefully, as the whites only diner. As they talked, a knock was heard at the door, it being a neighbouring landlord, who wanted to know why there was a black gathering in the street, trying to close the door, they hit his foot, he claimed assault before Allison beat him up, leaving, he threatened them.
"That won't end well, for either of you." Diego told her.
"I know but I can understand where that me is coming from, I'm sure I can fight anything some small minded 60's bigot can throw at me." Allison replied.
At the farm house, Vanya and Sissy talked late into the night, the two of them joking and laughing.
"Aww, I love to see happy Vanya, let's always have a happy Vanya." Klaus joked as Vanya flashed him a small smile. It seemed this Sissy was nice, maybe it would be nice to meet her, even if they wouldn't be fleeing from an apocalypse this time.
Sissy talked about her escape plan if Carl ever decided to up and leave, with her small kitty set aside that he didn't know about before telling Vanya about her aspirations when she was younger, what she wanted to do with her life.
"I hope she doesn't ever need to use that." Vanya said.
"Hopefully not, but it's pretty smart she planned ahead just in case." Allison replied.
Diego awoke in a padded cell, with a straitjacket on, slamming himself into the wall to dislocate his arm, before escaping from the straitjacket, then using his pen he had stolen to pick the lock and escape the room.
"I see your skills do not fade, Number Two, well done." Reginald simply nodded, as Diego looked in shock. Reginald, praising him? The world really was ending.
Outside the asylum, a milk van pulled up and a man entered, one of the men who had killed Hazel, killing the night guard, as his brothers entered behind him. Turning off all of the power, they began to move through the asylum, hunting Diego.
"These guys again? Must be Commission idiots, but how did they find us so fast?" Five wondered.
"Let's just hope I can get out of there then find out about them." Diego stated.
One of the orderlies found Diego and attacked him, easily beating Diego who had only one arm, before he could continue to beat him, the woman from earlier, who Diego named Lila, hit him in the head, knocking him out and rescuing Diego.
"Well, at least she knows how to fight." Luther said.
"What was she doing out?" Klaus spoke up.
"Who cares, she just possibly saved my life." Diego told the others.
Diego moved in for a kiss, before she reset his arm, then howled, drawing the attention of the Commission agents. Running into them, the Commission men began to open fire, causing the two of them to flee. Diego opened all the cells to cause a distraction as he and Lila fled into the basement of the asylum, running into two cops, one pulling his gun on them, before Lila knocked him out.
"Good reflexes, shame the cops were assholes." Allison said.
"Also what's with the kiss? What about Patch?" Klaus asked as Diego's eyes darkened, remembering living through it now, even in Patch was still alive in his timeline.
"Don't say her name." Diego growled, getting the others to back off on it.
"Where did you learn how to fight like that?"
"I'd like to know that as well." Luther said.
"My mother." Lila responded.
Five frowned, he recognised those kinds of techniques, but where did he know them from? Was Lila related to someone he had killed, sometime in the forties or fifties?
The three men shot the two copes as they left the facility, finding the patients running about in the grounds, Diego and Lila were gone.
"Better luck next time, milkmen of death." Klaus poked fun.
In a bar, Luther spoke to waitress, asking who was bothering his employer, Mr Ruby, seeing Carl talking to him whilst a man in shades watched them.
"JACK RUBY! That's how you're related to all of this!" Diego exclaimed.
"Isn't he the guy who killed Oswald?" Luther asked, wondering why he was working for a man involved in organised crime.
"Yeah, maybe you're with him as it's easier to get work in stuff like illegal boxing than anything else for a guy of your….stature." Allison told Luther, who frowned at her.
Luther was told about a kid by the stage and headed over, speaking to Five, "She's too young for you."
"Unlike you man children, I don't think with my penis." Five shot at him, causing Luther to blush.
"Nice to see you too, Luther."
"Well at least you're glad to see him, I usually think "Oh God" when I see him on a morning." Klaus joked as Luther glared at him.
Luther told him he had been there a year, before Five told him the apocalypse had followed them back, and that they had ten days to save the world. Luther simply said to him.
"When do we ever get a break?" Allison asked.
"I don't give a shit." Before walking away, as the screen cut to black once more.
"Wow, given up so fast, have we?" Five asked.
"I wonder what happened to me in that year that I've totally given up?" Luther wondered, shocked he could be so nihilistic about the end of the world and so willing to just let everything end.
Well I try to avoid political talk in my work, but congrats to President-Elect Biden. Even if you don't like him, and/or voted for President Trump, got to congratulate the winner. And yes, Luther saying "Malarkey" during The White Violin episode was a nod to the Biden.
