(Clementine's Pov)
I woke up early in the morning and I saw AJ also getting up. We head outside and the other teens were also outside and Violet looks over to me and I nod as I go over to her.
"Ready for practice?" She asked and I nod as we go and get the guns and each teen grabbed the ones, they think would be best for them. Mitch was over on the side though making his bomb and Violet didn't seem to want to grab the rifle that was left but I didn't want to push them on it. I take a pistol and looked to the others as they looked at their guns.
"You know you guys don't have to use these if you don't want to, I know it might be uncomfortable." I tell them.
"No, I think we should learn at least." Ruby says and I nod as I look to the others. I go and take them over to the tree and we had set up a makeshift shooting range and I grabbed some bottles and cans and set them up and I went behind the line where a table sat and they placed their weapons on the table and I nod a bit and grabbed one of the rifles and loaded it up and looked to Aasim.
"Ok you're up, let me see how you hold your weapon." I say and he grabbed the rifle and held it right and I nod.
"Ok so this one has a scope so we need to zero it in for your sight, it'll take a bit but we can get it to work." I explained.
"Wait you can't just shoot it?" Louis asked.
"Well, you can but if you want to get a proper shot, you have to zero the sight in for your eye, it's better to have it set up than to just shoot and go, from far away, if the person is up close it's easier to take a gut shot." I explained and I look to Aasim who was taking his time and he ends up shooting but missing the bottle and I show him how to fix the sighting so he could do it himself. After a while he was able to finally shoot a bottle and I nod and make him shoot two more bottles and he was able to hit them.
"That's great." I say and he nods and I show him how to properly empty the rifle and I grabbed this wire with a lock on it.
"This is if you ever want to keep the rifle with you but make sure no one else can use it." I explained how to use it and how to clean the rifle. After I finished with Aasim I helped Ruby and Louis out since they had pistols I told them about the sight on the pistol to make sure to hold the weapon with both hands the thumbs crossing each other and let them shoot for a bit. They were able to get the bottles and cans and I showed them how to also clean, lock, and empty their weapons.
"And you learned this how?" Mitch asked as he came over to us as I was teaching Omar how to shoot a revolver.
"When I was in the New Frontier we had to train a lot, the man in charge was in the Military before the Walkers, I didn't know how to really do all this until then, all I knew was to keep my gun loaded and aim for the head, didn't know how to clean my gun and such." I explain to them and he nods.
"I was able to get one bomb ready we can test it out." He says and I nod.
"After I teach Omar ok?" I asked and he nods as I teach Omar. It took a bit because this revolver had a bit of a kick and he dropped it and I said he didn't have to shoot it at all. He agreed and we decided to stop for now and the others were cleaning their weapons and Omar just went back to his cooking area and I head over to Mitch.
"Don't worry it's a small one it's not going to hurt anyone." He says and I nod as he grabbed the igniter and he tried to light it. It did light the fuse and we backed up but the fuse died before it was halfway down.
"Fuck… ok hold on." He says as he goes up and licked his fingers and placed it on the fuse to make sure it didn't reignite at random; I've seen it happen before and we think.
"The fuse is crap." He says and I nod.
"I can see if we can find some more at least some that haven't been opened, I don't know if that will work given how it's been years." I mutter.
"It's better than nothing." He says and I nod as I made a mental note about it.
"Anything else you might need?" I asked and he looked to the bomb a bit.
"I'll make a list if I can think of anything else, thanks Clementine." He says and I nod as I head over to the others and I look at Violet who was just over by the wall and I see Rosie with her so I walk over to her carefully.
"Hey." I say and wave a bit. She looked over to me and waved back and I watch as she pets Rosie and I kept my distance.
"She won't bite." She tells me and I look to Rosie then to Violet. Violet walks over to me and Rosie stayed and I look at her.
"Hey let me see your hand." Violet says and I look at her and give her my hand and she motioned for me to bend down so we both did. She whistles for Rosie to come over and as she walked up to me, I wanted to pull back but I felt a hand be placed gently on my back.
"It's ok, she won't hurt you." Violet tells me and I nod a bit as Rosie comes up and sniffs my hand and then licks it which made me pull back a bit.
"Hey it's ok." She says but let's go of my hand and I look to Rosie and then back to Violet and I hold my hand out again to Rosie who comes up to me and I watch as she licked my hand again and I look to Violet.
"See she's not that bad." Violet tells me and I nod a bit and then got up and looked to her.
"It might take some time." I mutter and I watch her nod.
"I get it, I know it'll take some time." She tells me and I nod and look to Rosie who was just looking at me.
"Hey whistle like this." Violet says and does the whistle and Rosie looked to her.
"And then tell her to sit." She tells me and I look to Rosie and I whistle at her and she turns to look at me and I look to Violet who nods and I look back to Rosie and tell her to sit and she does and I smile.
"So cool." I mutter and Violet laughed a little at this and I look up to her to see her wave her hand.
"Sorry it's… cute." She says and I smiled and laughed at this as well.
"Ok, sorry for being cute." I tell her.
"No, no it's fine I didn't mean it in a bad way." She tells me and I wave it off. I won't lie but I think it was cute when she laughed. I stopped myself from thinking that and shake my head a bit and looked to the others as they looked over to us and I looked to Violet then went over to AJ and watched him draw for a bit. It was relaxing to watch him be a kid somewhat, I am glad we are here given the circumstances that is.
"Hey Clem can I get some help here?" I hear Ruby asked and I nodded as I head over to her.
"I wanted to try shooting again but I think it's jammed." She says and I nod as I ask her to back away but close to watch what I do. It seemed her bullet didn't fire properly the first time and the second jammed it. I was able to get the first bullet out and I load the gun back up and took a shot making sure it fired properly.
"If I remember they call this a squib load, it's when a bullet doesn't fire properly the first time and when you tried to fire again the second bullet got locked." I explained to her and she nods.
"Though this is rare to happen it's great to know what to do if this happens." I tell her and the others watched too. Once I was done we decided to do our daily tasks and I went to go and help Ruby in the garden.
"Hey Clem, want to come and get some fish with me?" Violet asked and I looked to Ruby who nodded and I nod as well.
"Sure, let me get my bag." I tell her and she nods as I go and grabbed my bag. AJ came up to me and asked if he could come and I look to Violet who nodded.
"Yea he can come." She tells me and I nod and he follows us and we head to the fishing shack.
"I know we came here not that long ago but I wanted to get away from the school." She says and I look at her and I nod.
"I get it… how are you?" I asked out of random.
"Fine, just… are you sure we can be ready for these assholes?" She asked and I nod.
"Yeah, I think we all can… I have no idea when they will get here, I'm kind of surprised they haven't shown up earlier if that Able guy is part of the group." I mutter as we walked more.
"I don't know… maybe they're planning too." She says and I nod.
"Most defiantly they are, especially after what I did to him." I say and she laughed.
"Yea… oh this little teenager was able to do this to me." She says holding her arm and I laughed at this.
"How could a kid do this to you?" I asked laughing.
"Well… I think she has super powers." She says and we laughed at this and I shook my head and look ahead of us.
"So… I have to ask… did you see anything weird when we were in the town?" I asked her and she stopped and I look at her.
"You saw it too?" She asked and I look to her.
"Depends on what you are talking about." I say to her.
"The wall of Walkers… or dead people… I have no clue what it was." She tells me and I nod at this.
"Fuck… that's sick." She says and I nod at this and we continued to walk.
"They did that over at a university in Savanna, Crawford was the place." I tell her.
"Why though?" She asked.
"To either scare people, or to show they don't care, Crawford killed anyone that would be an in convince to them, if you were sick, you were useless, if you were a kid, you were useless, anything that made you a liability by their standards… they would do that to you." I tell her.
"Damn… I-I don't know, just knowing this information, I mean knowing the life you have lived for years it just… fucking hell it seems like we really did the right thing by letting you stay here… I can also see why you wouldn't let us kick Marlon out… even if he does deserve it." She says and I look at her.
"Like I said, even I wouldn't want to be out here why should I make someone else." I tell her and we finally get to the shack and I watch as AJ follows Violet inside. I look down the river to find a small bridge and I hear the door open and look to see the two with the spears.
"Clem there's carvings in the shack." AJ says and I look to Violet who looked to me then to him.
"Were they good carvings?" I asked him.
"One had a heart and two letters in it." He says and I nod.
"Oh, must have been for two lovers." I tell him.
"That's what Violet said." He tells me and I nod at this and he grabbed one of the smaller spears and ran to where he would catch his fish.
"He asked about it… Couldn't lie to the kid." Violet tells me and I nod.
"It's hard to lie to him." I say as we get to fishing. We fished for a good while before Violet spoke up.
"It was a carving for Minerva and me." She tells me and I look at her.
"You really love her hu?" I asked and she nods.
"Yea… I'm sorry if this bothers you." She tells me and I give her a questioning look.
"I mean… where I grew up, people being gay was bad and I uh… I don't know how you feel." She tells me and I shake my head and laughed.
"Girl, I have seen lesbians before, and a gay couple, if you think I'm… what's the word?" I asked.
"Homophobic?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea if you think I'm homophobic, then you are wrong… I mean… I like boys and girls." I say as I get a fish and place it in the bucket.
"S-So you are bi… that's cool." She says and I nod.
"Yeah, so me being homophobic wouldn't make sense." I say to her and she nods.
"But still… some kids at the school didn't like it and well… lots of people in my old neighborhood didn't either." She tells me and I look at her as she gripped the spear with both her hands.
"Hey, you don't have to be sorry, in my eyes, love who you love I mean hell, this apocalypse could have happened with all those homophobic people being dicks." I say and she laughed a little.
"Or they blamed us for being gay." She says and I see a tear go down her eye and I wiped away the tear and she looked at me.
"Fuck those assholes, they're just pissed because they can't get any action even in this fucked up world." I tell her and she laughed again and nods.
"Yea… fuck them." She says.
"Fuck who?" AJ asked and I sigh as I look at him.
"I was just asking." He says.
"Alright, I will let it slide this once." I say and he looked to me as he placed a fish in the bucket.
"So… who?" He asked.
"Bad people little dude…. Just bad people." Violet says and I nod and so does he and he looks to me.
"Ok you can say it." I tell him.
"Fuck those bad people." He says and smiles at me and I roll my eyes but smile at him and rubbed his head. He then went back to fishing and I look to Violet who still looked like she was feeling down and I rubbed her back a bit.
"Sorry… I shouldn't be emotional about this." She tells me.
"What? Scared I'll think you're less cool for crying?" I asked and she nods a bit and I smiled a bit.
"Nothing you can do can make me feel that way… hell you seemed cool when you helped me from the car." I tell her and she gets back to fishing.
"You're pretty cool too." She tells me and I nod.
"Yea, I'm pretty awesome." I tell her and she laughed.
"Ok, didn't mean to stroke your ego." She tells me and I smiled at her. My heart raced a bit as she looked to me so I looked back to the water and saw some fish and tried to get one but missed.
"Damn." I mutter and tried again and this time caught one.
"Looks like Omar could make some fried fish." She says and I look at her.
"You have flower, eggs, oil and breadcrumbs?" I asked.
"Eh I don't know what he has, but we don't mind it though, we just get the food and he makes a damn good meal." She tells me.
"Ok, I get it, can't know his process hu?" I asked.
"You can eat, or eat good, all it takes is a little patient." She says and I nod in agreement.
"True words of a wise cook." I say and she nods.
"So why bring me along?" I asked her and we both look at each other.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well, you all know your way around here… why ask me to come?" I ask her and I think I saw her turn red as she looked away from me.
"No reason, just thought you would like to talk and get out of the school is all." She says as she looked down river.
"As much as I have to agree with you on getting out once in a while, but I think there is a little more to it." I say and try to look at her face but again she keeps looking away from me.
"D-Does it bother you when Louis keeps asking you if you had a boyfriend?" She asked.
"A little, but I don't think much of it, seems like what he would do if any new person came into your school." I say to her.
"You know he did the same this with me when I first got to the school… told him I don't swing that way and he stopped talking about it to me." She says and I nod.
"I guess I'll have to tell him that." I say and looked to the fish again. Seems like there was more of them out now than before.
"I mean, you can tell him you're bisexual but… he might still try and flirt with you." She says.
"That's flirting?" I asked and she laughed.
"It might be his way of flirting I suppose." She tells me and I shake my head.
"Like I said to him, does he really know me? If not why try?" I asked and she shrugged.
"Eh he's just wondering what the new girl is into." She says as she tried to get another fish but missed.
"Well, I like a strong person… cool… get's shit done without having to be bribed at least… can hold their own and won't need to rely on me." I list off a few things.
"Damn, guess everyone is off that list." She says and I look to her.
"I mean it's ok to rely on me, just not all the time, and bribing I mean like, I don't have to give you a box of good bullets to you in order for you to go hunting or to check the walls when it needs to be done, you know?" I asked and she nods.
"I use to bribe Minnie sometimes, like… if she was supposed to garden, but she didn't want to get out of bed, I would bribe her with a new song to play on my guitar or a kiss on the cheek." She says and stays quiet and I look to her. Again, she still doesn't look at me and I rubbed my neck.
"That sounds a lot better than giving up the last of your food for the day." I say to her and she nods.
"It was just dumb… mushy romance stuff." She muttered and I laugh a little at this.
"You know… I guess not all relationships are bad… just the ones I've seen ended up badly." I tell her.
"You said something about two people in your old group causing an issue about that right?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yea, Jane and Luke… I know what Kenny meant by rolling around like teenagers but in all honesty… haven't been around any teens that do just randomly fuck." I say and she laughed and covered her face.
"I'm sorry, I really am, it's just… you know so much yet so little." She says and I place my hands on my hips and look at her.
"I don't see anyone in the school just going around sleeping with each other, so I have to be right at least a little." I say to her and she nods.
"Ok, you got us there… but shit if you were here a year ago." She says and I look at her.
"You saying that you're one of those teens?" I asked.
"No, God no… to embarrassing… I mean we tried but it just… we weren't really… God damn it." She says and I smiled at her.
"Is little Violet a Virgin?" I asked and she whipped her head around and I saw how red she was.
"No… wait… hold on." She says and I laughed a little at this.
"Violet… oh god." I say as I held my sides.
"Not like you've done it anyway." She muttered as she looked away again.
"Who's to say I haven't? just because I didn't have a boyfriend doesn't mean I couldn't have had sex." I say and she looks to me.
"But you're right, I'm a big old virgin too." I say and she looked away.
"Oh well… that's cool… to know." She says and I nod.
"Hey I get it, something like that can make you uncomfortable, I thought I was weird when I didn't want to but there was this doctor lady, I talked to she said it was fine, not everyone is up for it… plus in this world, yea not a good idea for a guy and girl to be getting it on." I joke and she laughed just a little big.
"Let's change the subject." She says and I nod as we look for more fish and I think of a song and smirked as I sing a little.
"Like a virgin… touched for the very first time." I sing and here Violet groan and I laughed.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't help it." I say and she nods.
"Laugh it up Clem." She says and I nod.
"Oh, I will." I tell her. AJ then runs up to us with another fish and we decided to end it here. AJ then went to put the spears away and I look to Violet.
"Hey I am sorry; I won't joke about it unless I'm joking about myself." I tell her.
"It's not… it was funny, I'm sorry if I'm being a prude or whatever." She says and I shake my head at this.
"Don't feel sorry or feel like you need to apologize to me on this, I should have stopped but didn't." I tell her and she nods.
"Just… I just didn't want AJ to hear it and ask questions is all." She says and I nod.
"Ok I'll give you that." I tell her and she nods then AJ comes out the shack and we grabbed the buckets and head back to the school.
"It's fun to make jokes." I hear her say and I nod.
"Yea… even if it's making jokes about yourself." I say and she nods. We get into the school and hand Omar the food and he nods as he gets to work on it. He asked Violet to help him clean the fish and she agreed and I went to go check on Ruby who was still in the garden.
"Hey took ya long enough." She tells me and I nod.
"Sorry, we got a lot of fish though." I tell her and she nods as she shows me what we have to do.
"I picked some of the good stuff that we could use, but we need to clean up the little plots so we can maintain it better." She explained and I nodded as we got to work.
"Seems like Violet has taken a liking to you." She commented and I look at her.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked as I pulled some of the weeds out.
"I mean, she's gotten close to you." She tells me and I look at her.
"In a good way… she never really got close to people… well Minnie and Sophie were different but… it's a good thing." She tells me.
"Is Violet not that close with you?" I asked a bit curious.
"Well, we talk and do our jobs, but not much to talk about you know, not like we have a radio or anything." She says and I nod at this.
"Guess it's something new." I state and get back to work.
"Yea… just… it seems like it's a good thing for her, after Minnie and Sophie, she blamed herself, maybe blamed Brody and Marlon too… but mostly herself… she kept to herself mostly after they were gone." She tells me and I look to her.
"I mean can you blame her?" I asked.
"No, I can't, I have no idea what I would have done if Aa-, I mean if a loved one was killed or taken." She says and I smirk as I look at her.
"Does Ruby like someone in this school?" I asked.
"Nope, no idea what you are talking about." She says and I nod.
"Alright, ok." I say and get off the topic. We finished up the greenhouse and we began to work on some labels before someone came to the building and knocked on the door.
"Need any help?" I hear and look to see Violet with AJ also.
"Sure, mind helping us with the labels?" Ruby asked and she nods as she grabbed the paper and pen then wrote what Ruby listed off the seeds and AJ went to go and put them in a spot.
"And finally, Tomatoes." Ruby says as Violet finished the label and handed it to AJ.
"Now we can plant the seeds." She says and Violet gets up and grabbed some seed packets and we all went to plant the seeds in the right spot. I went over to Violet as she planted the last of her packet and she looked to me.
"All done." She says and I nod and then she placed her hand to my face and wiped something off my face and I look at her.
"Some dirt." She says and I nod at this she kept her hand on my face a bit longer than usual but once she realized she moved her hand away quickly and then left the greenhouse I was slightly confused but brushed it off as I went over to Ruby who was talking to AJ. I then look to the door of the greenhouse and I think it's ok for me to leave so I do. I see Violet as she heads inside the school and I think before I go in and follow her. She heads up the stairs and I follow her for a bit before she goes into Marlon's old office.
"I know you're following me, Clementine." She says and I look at her as she turns to the side to look at me.
"I was… I mean."
"It's fine… did you need anything?" She asked.
"Why are you going in there?" I ask as I go up to her.
"Marlon has some old maps we can use." She says and I nod as she goes in and I walk in as well. I see her go into the desk drawer and grab some maps just like she said and then she grabbed something else.
"Is that alcohol?" I asked and she looked to the bottle then to me and nods.
"Is it bad that I wanted a drink?" She asked and I shook my head.
"No, I can't say anything about it… I'll just head on out than." I say but before I could leave, I hear some shuffling.
"I mean… do you want to have a drink with me?" She asked and I look at her. I take a moment to think and then look to the door a bit.
"You don't have to I'm sorry." She tells me and I shake my head a bit.
"No, it's alright, just one drink won't hurt." I say and she nods as she opens the bottle of whiskey and takes a sniff.
"Oh fuck." She laughed and looked to me and holds out the bottle. I take it from her gently and look to the bottle and took a quick swig and handed it back to her as I coughed a bit. The burning of Alcohol down your throat never changes at least every time I drink it never does, it always burned.
"Shit you, ok?" She asked and I nodded at this.
"Yea just… fuck it's been a while." I mutter as I shake my head and then I watch her take a drink but she didn't seem fazed by it.
"How did you do that?" I asked and she looked to me.
"Use to steal my dad's alcohol, drink some of it, and got use to it." She tells me and I shake my head as she offered the bottle again.
"Nah I'm good." I say and covered my mouth a bit.
"Yea whisky isn't to everyone's taste; I think you would go for something fruity." She says and I look at her.
"Oh really?" I asked and she nods.
"If I could find some Vodka and a crap ton of fruit, I could make something." She says and I shake my head.
"I don't think we should have any ideas of making alcohol with a bunch of teenagers." I state and she laughed and nod then she took another drink.
"Well, you are right on that." She says and I nod and then she took a seat in the chair and looks over to me. We sat in silence for a bit before I sighed before I went over to the door an locked it then went over to her and grabbed the bottle and took a drink and she looks at me.
"You ok?" She asked and I shrugged and handed her the bottle. She takes it and drinks some of it and looks to the side.
"Do you want to just talk?" She asked.
"I just… are you ok?" I asked her and she looked to me.
"Pardon?" She asked.
"Are you ok? I mean… how are you dealing with all of this." I asked and she shrugged a little at this.
"I don't know… I mean… I still want to hurt Marlon but… I just hope Minnie and Sophie are still alive you know?" She asked and I nod.
"Oh yea, I get it." I say and she takes another drink and hands me the bottle. I declined it this time and just sat with her.
"I just… it's personal stuff I'd like to try and figure out on my own… till I ask for help." She says and then I looked to her. She was looking at the maps and then took a drink and I watch her as she fiddled with the papers a bit.
"Alright we-." I was cut off by a knock on the door and I look to Violet who just took another drink and I go and answer the door.
"Hey Violet said she was looking for maps in here." Aasim says and I nod.
"Yea she found them I'll grab them for you." I say and I head over to Violet who was just looking at the maps for a bit so I grabbed all except the one in her hands and I go and hand them over to Aasim and I step out the office.
"Hey is she ok?" He asked as we walked out the school.
"I am not too sure." I say and think. We all worked for a bit and as time passed on by Violet came out and handed the map to Aasim and then there were other papers she set on the table.
"Fuck Marlon." She said and stumbled a bit.
"Woah what happened?" I asked and she points to the papers.
"Fucking… dick said he felt bad for giving up the twins…. And he called Brody a bitch for being scared, Fuck him." She says.
"Hey you aren't any better, Fucking Minerva hated you." Marlon said and she looked over to him.
"FUCK YOU!" She yelled at him and they both got in each other's faces.
"SHE HATED YOU SHE TOLD ME SHE HATED YOU!" Marlon yelled and I go and grabbed Violet and pulled her back as Louis grabbed Marlon and pulled him back.
"FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKING BASTARD SHE DOESN'T HATE ME!" She yelled as I pulled her back from Marlon.
"Ok stop this right now." Ruby says and I pull Violet away.
"No, I'm fucking right, Minerva hated Violet, she came with us, and didn't even put up a fight when she was taken." Marlon says.
"You fucking bastard, you have no idea-."
"No idea? She came to me when you and her fought." He says and I look at Violet.
"Stop this right now, Violet are you ok?" Ruby asked as she looked to her and Violet shook her head.
"I uh… drank to much." She mutters as I tried to help her stand a bit.
"Wait where did she get the alcohol?" Louis asked.
"Marlon's desk." She muttered as she leaned on me.
"Marlon, I thought you got rid of it." Ruby said and I look to them and then to Violet. I helped her to her room and she shook her head a bit.
"I'm ok, I'm not that drunk." She says.
"I get it." I tell her and she nods as she gets on the bed and I look at her.
"I'm going to lay right here." She says and pats the bed.
"Alright that seems like a good idea right now." I tell her and she nods a bit.
"Yea… just… why did I drink?" She asked and turned her head to the side and I look at her.
"Are you asking me?" I asked and she laughed a bit.
"What did I ask?" She asked.
"Ok you're thinking out loud." I say as I go over to her and rubbed her back a bit.
"Ugh I shouldn't have drunk so much, I forgot this fucking feeling." She muttered and I look at her.
"I think you should just sleep this off." I tell her as she tried to get up.
"Yea… yea… just after I hit Marlon in his s-stupid face." She says and then lays back down.
"Ok, you can do that later, just rest up right now." I tell her and she nods as she finally falls asleep. I head out to the courtyard and I look over to the teens as they argued.
"Hey woah what is going on?" I asked.
"Marlon should have thrown away the alcohol, you said you threw it away." Ruby said as she looked to the boy and I think.
"Look, I maybe had a drink or two-."
"You've been drinking it?" Aasim asked.
"Wait that can't be true, the bottle was full when Violet drank from it." I said.
"Look, I thought maybe one day we could take the edge off ok, for fuck's sake." He says.
"Well, what you said to Violet wasn't called for." Louis said.
"So, what, she needs to get over it, I do feel bad for fuck sake I'm a prisoner in my own home." He says.
"You did that to yourself Marlon." Omar says.
"Oh, fuck all of you, you would have done the same damn thing if you were in my position, so I don't want to fucking hear it." He says and then Ruby goes up to him and hits him.
"You have no idea what you have done to any of us, you took our friends and you gave them away, you made Tenn. cry over his sisters that you told us that they were dead, you then killed Brody because you were a fucking coward." Ruby says and I was a bit shocked at her.
"You-."
"No, you know what, maybe we should have let Violet kick your ass, how about I do it for you right now." Ruby says as she rolled up her sleeve but Aasim grabbed her before she could do anything.
"No, we should have left his ass out of these walls, you're a fucking dick, AJ should have blown your brains out." Mitch says.
"Wait, hold on." I tried to say.
"No Clementine, we get it you don't want people to get hurt anymore and we appreciate it but this piece of shit needs to know that we want him gone or fucking dead." Mitch says and I look at him.
"Look I get it you are all angry." I say.
"He killed our friends." Mitch says.
"I… fuck I don't know what to do." I tell them.
"Look can you just go… check on Tenn and the others, they went inside." Louis says and I look to the others as they nod. I agreed and went to go look for the boys and I find them in the music room as they play on the piano a bit.
"How is Violet?" Tenn asked.
"She's sleeping right now." I tell him.
"She really wanted to punch Marlon hu?" Willy asked and I nodded.
"Yea she's just… going through some stuff right now." I say.
"I don't blame the others though, we saw Ruby hit Marlon so we ran in here, she never hit's people." Tenn says and I nodded.
"Yea it kind of scared me too, I mean I was surprised and all." I say and Tenn nods at this and I look to AJ.
"You, ok?" I asked and he nods as he looked to the piano.
"Are they going to hurt Marlon?" AJ asked and I look to him.
"I am not sure; I can't stop them if they do." I say.
"You stopped them before." Tenn says.
"I know but I can't right now they are a bit… they're just… mad." I try to explain.
"They have every right to be, Marlon did something bad." AJ says and I look at him and I nod.
"Yea… they are a bit emotional right now, I think we should find a way to cool them down." I suggest to them.
"A game, we should play a game." Willy says and I look at him.
"Ooooh, let's play a game, a card game." Tenn says again and I nod.
"Ok." I say and we get up and head out to the courtyard and the teens look at us and I clear my throat.
"Uh, the boys want to play a card game." I say.
"A card game?" Louis asked.
"Yea like we use to… it was fun and I miss it." Tenn says.
"Look not right now." Mitch says.
"Come on… we could ask questions right Louis?" Willy says and I look to them and I hear a sigh.
"Ok fine." Omar says and we all get set up as Louis grabbed his cards and I look to Marlon.
"Come on Marlon." Tenn. says and I look to the others. They look a bit irritated at this but they kept their peace and I look at my deck of cards and as Louis handed Marlon his. We flipped the cards and Omar got the high card. He looked to Marlon with a bit of a glare.
"What the hell was going through your head when you gave the twins up?" He asked.
"I don't know." Marlon says.
"Bullshit." Mitch says as he threw his deck down.
"This is fucking stupid why the hell are we even doing this?" Mitch says.
"First off, you all need to calm down, and they boys wanted to play a game and this is what they wanted so could we please just be calm and collective about this?" I asked as I looked to Mitch.
"Is Violet asleep?" Ruby asked and I nodded at this.
"Yea, She, is sleeping, or I hope she is." I tell her.
"I don't see what the hell her problem is." Marlon says.
"That's it." Mitch says as he grabbed Marlon by the shirt and was about to punch him but I grabbed his arm.
"Don't, not right now." I tell him.
"Fuck him, he's a piece of shit and deserves to die." Mitch says.
"I get it you're mad, everyone is mad and, and upset but we all just need to calm down." I tell them.
"Calm down? For fuck sake because of him we have a bunch of raiders that are going to get pissed off because they didn't get their next child fucking solider, don't you care that he was going to trade you and your boy?" Mitch says as he looked to me.
"I do care, I really do but right now it's not the best idea to start fighting, we all have to be clear headed." I tell them.
"I am clear headed, and I want to kick his fucking ass." Mitch says and I sighed.
"Look, I just did it on impulse I was scared, they had fucking guns what the hell was I supposed to do?" Marlon asked.
"Give yourself up maybe." Mitch says pissed.
"Hey fuck you." Marlon says.
"That's it." Mitch says and both Aasim and I pulled him back.
"No, I just want to fucking break his neck." Mitch says and I pushed him back.
"Stop this." Tenn. says and I look to him.
"He did bad we know this, but we just need to talk it out." Tenn. says and I look to Mitch as he backed off.
"Fucking stupid." He mutters as he grabbed his cards and we kept playing the game. It was a while before I saw some movement by the school and I see Violet who comes over to us and takes a seat next to Louis.
"Hey you good?" He asked.
"Make sure I never… drink again." She muttered and I look at her.
"I didn't know-."
"No, no it's… it's fine, you don't need to apologize… I'm sorry for drinking." She says.
"Marlon should have gotten rid of that alcohol." Ruby said and I look at Marlon.
"I swear to god." Marlon says.
"Shut the hell up Marlon." Mitch says and I look to Violet as she lays her head on the table.
"She shouldn't have been drinking."
"Stop right now." AJ says and I look to him.
"We are just trying to play a game, and everyone keeps arguing and we need to stop it, so everyone stop it." Willy says and I look at all the kids and I sighed and thought a bit.
"Hey, what about be back?" I asked.
"The back?" Aasim asked.
"The playground." AJ says and I nod.
"Oh shit, we need to clean it." Violet says as she gets up.
"Hey that would get our minds off everything." Omar says and we all agreed.
"We can work on it tomorrow?" I suggested.
"Alright, we can make a project out of it." Aasim says and we gabbed some papers after Violet grabbed the cards and just shuffled them for a bit, then she handed them back to Louis who decided to keep her busy with the cards as he tried to make a tower of cards with her.
"Ok, we can clear out the grass and weeds tomorrow and then see how good the equipment is." Mitch says and I nod.
"We can also go into the town and see if we can find a new tether ball, or replace the whole pole." Willy says and I think for a bit.
"Yea we can do that, get other stuff for the playground while we are at it." Ruby says.
"I almost had it, did you see that." I hear and look to Louis and Violet who were stacking the cards.
"I know dude, we almost had it." He said.
"Fucking bullshit cards." Violet says and I smiled a bit at this and go over to them.
"Dude, let's do it again." Violet says as she works on the tower of cards again.
"Need some help?" I asked and she looked at me.
"Dude, dude Clem wants to help." She says to him.
"Yea I think you and her should work on the tower while I go help Omar with dinner?" Louis asked and she looks to me then back to him and she nods and Louis leaves and she goes and grabbed the cards and got to work on it.
