(Violet's Pov)
I was heading to my office and just as I was opening the door, I hear someone complaining to one of the other wives.
"And get this, that beast told me she would knock me to next Tuesday, such a vial thing to say to the wife of the General." I hear and I groaned a bit and put my hand to my face.
"How dare she, well I hope that girls husband gets a stern talking too." Another wife said and I look over to them as they walked by.
"Oh Aldon, when are you going to give my husband those three months off, I requested." The Generals wife says to me and I glare at her.
"I'm not in control of his hours and he has to put in the request not you." I tell her.
"What good are you if you can't do your job right." She says.
"Oh, I don't know I'm just a low ranked bastard according to you." I say to her an she glared at me.
"Excuse you." She says and I smirked at her.
"Sorry I can't hear you must be all that gunfire I had to deal with while trying not to die in another country, what did you ask?" I asked her.
"You and that girl are just disrespectful hussies." She says and I laughed at this.
"Oh yes, I'm sorry but who had a child out of wedlock with another man while her husband was here at the office?" I asked her and she turned red.
"Would be a real shame if I told your husband that his so-called son isn't even his and his wife just loves getting dicked down by another man and loves to belittle other soldiers' wives because last time, I checked your husband would gladly divorce a hussy like you." I say and she glared at me.
"Oh, and if any of you speak of this to ANY of your husbands, just know it won't end well, wonder how they would feel knowing their wives like to suck other men's dicks." I stated and they looked a little worried and I glared at the Generals wife.
"Have a nice day ladies." I say and then head into my office and I go take a seat at my desk.
"Just finish today, Violet, then you can go home and spend time with Clementine." I whisper to myself and I get to work. When noon came around, I get a knock on the door and I go open it and see Clementine and I smile at her.
"Did I forget my lunch again?" I asked and she smiles as she holds up my lunch box.
"I'm assuming you forget on purpose to see me more." She says and I closed the door and locked it. I closed the blinds and I kissed her gently and she kissed me back. I place my hands on her hips as she takes her free arm and places it around the back of my neck. I pulled back a bit and looked to her as she looked to me and I chuckled.
"Oh no, you found out my evil plans." I joked and she giggled at this.
"Well, if you wanted office sex so bad you should have just asked." She whispers in my ear and I turned red at this.
"I mean… that would be interesting." I say and she sets the lunch on the table and wraps both her arms around my neck and kisses me. It wasn't long till I was fixing my uniform and Clementine was fixing her clothes as well and I look to her and smile a bit.
"We should do that more often." I stated and she laughed at this.
"Office sex? Maybe I should have one built for you at the house." She says and I smirk and pull her to me as she was fixing her dress.
"Oh, but it's exciting doing it here." I whisper to her and she slapped my hands gently but I didn't let her go and I kissed her neck a bit.
"Well, it won't happen every time I come here to bring you lunch, you were just lucky this time." She tells me and I nod by her neck.
"Oh, and what luck it was." I whisper to her and she giggles when I kissed her neck again. I smiled a bit as I let her go and we took a seat and it seems she packed two lunches in one except the thermos which we shared.
"I don't think I say this enough but Clem I love your cooking." I tell her.
"You can thank Grandma Everett; she gave me the recipe for the meatloaf." She tells me and I nod.
"Thank you, grandma Everett." I say and Clementine laughed at this. There was then a knock on the door and it was a constant one at that so I get up and opened the door to see that annoying woman and I rolled my eyes.
"Excuse you, you need to answer when I knock.
"I did answer, the hell do you want?" I asked getting annoyed.
"You-, you're the beast from the airport." She says and I see her looking to Clementine and she just barges into my office.
"Hey you need to leave." I tell hr and she looked to me.
"I can do what I want-."
"LIEUTANANT!" I yelled and then waited as my Lieutenant walks in.
"Something wrong Aldon?" He asked.
"Can you please tell the General's wife to leave my office, I was having a quiet enjoyable lunch and she thinks she can just barge in here… I may be of low rank to her but I do have a life." I explained to him and he looked to the woman and groaned.
"Patty, you need to leave and stop bothering my soldiers, you can't request time off for your husband, and you can't do as you please just because he's the General." The lieutenant says.
"Well, this beast needs to leave to she was rude to me-."
"I don't care Patty, you probably deserved it now leave before I get your husband down here and you and I both know he doesn't like to take his time to be annoyed with petty things when he's busy with trying to end the war." The lieutenant says and Patty scoffs and then leaves the office.
"I swear that woman." He mutters and I look to him.
"Sorry she just won't leave me alone." I tell him.
"No, I understand, I will talk to her husband about this issue of hers." He says and I nod at this.
"Well, hello again Clementine, come to fire at the range today?" He asked with a smile.
"Oh, I don't want to bother-."
"Nonsense, Aldon, have you finished your lunch?" He asked and I nod.
"I have yes, are we going to head on down?" I asked.
"If Clementine wants too." He says and I look to her and she sighed but nods with a smile.
"I bet I'll beat you Aldon." She says as she gets up and head out. I honestly couldn't help but swoon a bit as she left and I sighed.
"Oh, by the way, I do suggest having that office built at your home, your office is right next to mine." The Lieutenant says and I turn red but then get worried as I look to him.
"Oh, don't worry, I have a… partner at home, very sweet man." He says quietly and I nod at this.
"Sorry I will… yes I will get on that." I say as we start walking with Clementine. We get to the range and they handed us two rifles, we tested to make sure they were good to shoot and I go and take my place on the ground as does Clementine. We take our aim and everything is silent. I aim at the target and then take the shot as does Clementine. We do this a few more times each tarted farther that the last until we finished. They then bring the targets over and show us what we did.
"And Clementine is the winner." The lieutenant says.
"Yes." Clementine says and I laughed.
"Oh, just by one point, you're lucky it was almost a draw." He laughed.
"Hey I still win, which means Aldon you have to do the dishes tonight." She says and I chuckled.
"I'll make them extra dirty for you too." She says an we all laughed. Clementine then headed back home and I look to the targets a bit and I asked if I could keep them. They made sure to put our names on them and I take them to my office before I got back to work. I didn't get off till late and I was outside and heading over to the bike I brought and I started to peddle home. The snow wasn't all that bad but I'm glad not many people were driving out just in case. I finally get home and I get into the house and I shake my head a bit.
"Got you some warm tea." I head and look to see Clementine as she brought the cup over and I kissed her as I grabbed it.
"Have I told you I love you?" I asked and she laughed a bit.
"Yes, plenty of times, now get warmed up and comfortable." She tells me and I nod as I drink the tea and smiled as Ducky came waddling in the room and I bend down and pet her a bit.
"You still want to get that Television today? The store is still open." I say as I get up and then set the cup down so I could change out of my uniform.
"No, you just sit down and relax." She tells me and I shake my head a bit and I go get changed. I come back in the room and grabbed my tea and drank the rest of it then went and cleaned the cup.
"You sure? Weather is supposed to get bad tonight." I tell her and she comes up to me.
"We don't need to get it; you have to be tired." She says and I kissed her cheek.
"Alright, oh and I'm going to have to take your offer on that office." I say to her.
"Oh, really now?" She asked and I nod and turned red.
"Well, the lieutenant… heard us." I mutter and she turned red as well.
"It's fine though just um… no more of that at work." I say and she laughed at this and held the front of my shirt as she laid her head on my chest.
"Oh god was I that loud?" She asked.
"The walls are thin." I say and she laughed some more.
"Oh god I'm so sorry." She laughed and I smiled.
"Nah it's fine, anyway, let's relax." I say and we go take a seat on the couch and the radio was on playing one of her stories. It was an old western reading and I laughed when they had the iconic 'If you go, I go' moment and I shake my head and smiled at Clementine as she gently patted my chest.
"Oh, you know you would do that." She says and I chuckled.
"Yeah, yeah I would but it's so common." I say and she shakes her head and lays her head on my chest and I rubbed her back gently as we kept listening. I rubbed gentle circles on her back as I closed my eyes and then the land line rings and we look to it and I get up much to Clementine saying to just leave it. I answer the phone.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hello, is this the Rodes resident?" Someone asked.
"No sorry." I say and they hang up and I look to the phone and then place it back in it's spot and I shake my head and I go back to Clementine and we get back to our spots and I rubbed her back gently.
"Wrong number." I mutter and she laughed.
"Let me guess they were asking for Rodes?" She asked and I nod.
"Old lady down the road has been calling, seems we have her sons' old number." She explained and I think.
"They give numbers like that?" I asked.
"Sometimes, but she's a sweet woman, I should stop by and give her some sweets." She says and I chuckled and kissed her head and we listened to the radio again.
"But John, you can't leave like this." The woman on the radio says.
"I have to, it's for the best of mankind."
"There has to be another way."
"Wait another way? Dude is leaving you for another woman from the last episode, dump his ass." I say and Clementine laughed and I look to her.
"I mean it's true." I mutter.
"It's just a story." She says and rubbed my arm a bit.
"How is it the best for mankind? They act as if aliens are going to invade like those science films we saw." I say and she laughed.
"It probably is." She says.
"Set in the wild west? Such a strange concept." I say and she laughed gently.
"Maybe the other woman is secretly an Alien from outer space." Clem says.
"He's gonna get a probe up his ass." I say and it makes Clementine laughed and I couldn't help but laugh as well.
"You think he's cool with that?" She asked and I laughed.
"Probably, but he won't remember if it's like those films we saw." I say and we listened more.
"You're an Alien?" The man says and I point to the radio.
"HA! YOU GONNA GET PROBED DUDE!" I shouted and Clementine laughed more and I laughed as well. I had decided to grab a cigarette and offered one to Clementine who declined and I nod as I lit it and took an puff and listened in more. I then feel Clementine move a bit and she grabbed the cigarette from me and took a puff herself and I smirk at her as she handed it back to me and I kissed her on the head gently. We shared the cigarette and when done I snuff it out and closed my eyes as I relaxed.
"You tired?" She asked and I hum a bit.
"Hmm, no I'm just content." I tell her and hold her hand gently.
"I was thinking of a summer wedding." I tell her.
"Oh? That sounds wonderful." She says and I rubbed her back more.
"Yeah… I'd… I'd like to invite my mother." I tell her and I opened my eyes as she shifted and I look to her.
"Really?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes… I get it, she's done a lot for me and… even if I don't like how she didn't step up to dad I can understand why… plus I'd like to see my little sister." I tell her and she nods.
"I should actually visit her at some point." I say as I moved a bit so we were both laying on the couch and Clementine had laid her head on my chest and I kissed her head as some soft music was playing and then I hear some soft thundering sounds and I look to the window to see some rain.
"So…. About the topic of kids." I say and she looked to me a bit and I looked to the side a bit.
"Do you really want to talk about it?" She asked and I think a bit and nod.
"Yeah, I mean it would be nice… and don't you think your family would like a new baby to coddle?" I asked her.
"I thought you said adoption would be, ok?" She asked and I nod.
"Yes, that would be fine as well, but would you like a baby of your own too? At least one." I suggest and she shrugged.
"My family would love any child we bring to the home, as long as Grandma can give them cookies, I think it wouldn't matter." She tells me and I nod a bit. I stayed quiet a bit and kept rubbing her back as I hear the rain hit the roof of the house and I kissed her head. We had decided to wait till Clementine was done with school for us to get married. Months would pass us by and I was heading home from work and as I get to the property, I see Clementine getting ready to head to the car and I go up to her.
"Hey everything good?" I asked and she nods.
"Yeah just… the stove decided to stop working, there is a neighbor giving one away and I was going to get it." She says and I nod.
"Well let me come with." I say and she nods as we both get in the car and she starts driving.
"Heard they were going to make those gas-powered stoves but the wood ones last longer." She explained and I nod.
"Easy cleaning too?" I asked and she laughed.
"Oh, I didn't think about that." She says and I smile at her.
"Hey it's fine, I'll make an ash holder for it I'll even get some bricks and put it under the stove if I have too." I tell her.
"Thanks, I just thought hey we need a stove and these were good." She says and I kissed her head.
"It's fine darlin' plus after this don't you have your night class?" I asked and she groans a bit.
"Don't remind me, some of those people are annoying." She mutters and I kissed her head again.
"Well just tune them out, once you finish school you can rub it in their faces." I say and she laughed.
"You think they won't graduate?" She asked and I nod.
"If they're annoying then I don't think they will." I tell her and she shakes her head. We get to the neighbors and we put the stove on the back trailer that was hooked up to the car. Thanking Lee that he had this for us. I then talked with the neighbor's son as he was asking about my uniform.
"Shit you were a sniper?" He asked and I nod.
"Yeah, I was I mean I still could be but right now I'm at the office back on base." I tell him.
"Shit wish they still let me work, lost my arm when I was being stupid and tried to throw a grenade away from my squad." The man says.
"Shit, Clem here lost a finger but a whole arm?" I say and shake my head.
"Oh, I would do it again if I had to, but I was to out of it." He says and I nod to him.
"Well, they have been looking for some work on the base for contractors I can put a word in for you if you'd like." I suggest.
"Nah it's fine I got a job at my uncles company it doesn't pay well but a job is a job, plus I can stay here with my family." He says and I nod. I shake his hand and then head over to Clementine as she finished talking with the man's father. We bid them a bye and then I drove the car to the house.
"That was nice of them." She says and I nod. We get to the house and Lee was outside and he helped us bring the stove in, he had taken the old stove and already laid brick on the floor and we hooked it up and I thanked him, he said it was fine and I went and unhooked the trailer from the car and Clementine came out and gave me a kiss before she got in the car and headed to school. I smile and take the trailer to the back yard and then went to get changed. I then went over to Lee's and I helped him worked in the field he had bought about three more acers of land so he could sell more food and give some food to those who didn't get enough with the ration cards. Currently I was helping him plant seeds in the ground and I hear a vehicle come down the driveway and I look to see it was a police car.
"Hu, wonder what's going on." Lee says and we go up just as the officer was getting out the car.
"Mr. Everette?" The officer asked.
"Yes, that's me officer, is everything ok?" Lee asked as he cleaned his hands.
"Your daughter Clementine was in an accident-." I stopped hearing after that and I looked to Lee quickly and he looked to me and nods. We hurry and get Carley and AJ into his car and the officer takes us to the hospital. We run in and Lee went to the front desk asking about Clementine and I was looking around the hospital a bit. I get up and walk around a bit even when Carley tells me she would be ok, I just kept shaking my head out of worry, I look to Lee as he came over to us.
"She's in surgery right now, it'll be a few hours." He tells us and I look to him as he placed a hand on my shoulder.
"It's going to be fine; she will be fine." He tells me and I nod at this. We take a seat and wait, one hour would pass and then two. I decided to get up and get everyone something to eat and drink, just something to get my mind off of all this. I go back to Clem's family and gave them some food and drinks. They thank me and I nod a bit as I take a seat and look to see doctors and nurses coming and going out the rooms. The officer then came over and talked with Lee and Carley and I was sitting with AJ who didn't say a word and I pat his head gently.
"She'll be fine." He says quietly and I nod a bit at this. Lee came over with Carley and they took a seat.
"Seems like a driver ran one of the lights and crashed right into her side… man was drunk." Lee tells us and I clear my throat as I tried to keep calm. I wanted to go find that bastard and beat him to a bloody pulp. He hurt Clementine, he hurt my partner, he hurt someone's daughter and sister.
"He still alive?" I asked pissed and Lee looked to me as I looked to him.
"He's locked up right now." He tells me and I gripped my pant legs. AJ and I must have fallen asleep because I was woken up by a gentle shake of the shoulder and I look to see Carley.
"Hey, we can go see Clem now, Lee is already in her room." She tells us and I nod a bit as we get up and head to the room where Clementine was. I opened the door and see Clem laying on the hospital bed and I go over to her and rubbed her head gently. The cuts from the glass was on her face and I wanted to cry but I kept to myself. I couldn't cry in front of her family. They said she would wake up in a few hours so we just sat here and waited and waited. I was holding Clementines hand a bit as a doctor came to check on her. Carley had taken AJ home since he had to get ready for school in the morning so Lee gave her the keys to the car, she said she would be back after taking him to school. I go and pick up AJ for her since he had fallen back to sleep and I told Lee I would be out a little longer. I helped take AJ to the car and set him in the back and I looked to Carley a bit.
"Don't stress yourself, she'll wake up soon." She says and I nod a bit at this and she heads on home and I grabbed a cigarette and lit it up and then took a seat on the outside patio. My leg was shaking like cray and I rubbed the side of my head a bit as I thought of what had happened. What if she had memory loss? What if she had brain damage what if she would never be the same? I shake my head at this and groaned a bit as I held my head. I smoke three more cigarettes before I head back inside and I back into Clementine's room. I didn't notice it until now but it looked like one of her legs was shorter than the other and I look to Lee as he looked to me then to her bed a bit and he cleared his throat.
"She uh… lost her leg in the accident, they tried to save it but… she would have bled out." He says and I nod a bit and I go take my seat next to her and I hold her hand again. I lay my head on the bed and slowly stroke her hand as I look to her face a bit and I look down to her hand and kept rubbing it. I must have fallen asleep because I woke up to the feeling of my head being rubbed and then I hear some talking.
"Hey look who woke up." I hear and look to Clementine as she smiled at me and I quickly get up and hugged her and she hugged me back. I let go of her and look at her up and down.
"When? How long was I out?" I asked and looked to see that Carley just came in and hands Lee a coffee.
"A few hours but you looked so tired." She says and I nod a bit and kissed her.
"God I was so scare for you." I say after we pulled apart and I hugged her more.
"Oh, sweetie still a little sore." She says and I let her go.
"Shit sorry I-." I was stopped when she laughed a bit.
"It's ok I get it." She says and I nod and take a seat.
"How uh… besides a little sore how do you feel?" I asked.
"Hmmm like I lost about fifteen pounds." She says and laughed a little as she pointed to her now stump and I look back to her with horror on my face.
"Oh, sweetie I'm sorry it was a bad joke I'm sorry." She says and cups my face and I feel tears in my eyes.
"Hey no tears I'm ok." She says and I shake my head and she pulled me close to her.
"I was worried and you make a joke like that?" I asked.
"I know I know I just… wanted a laugh." She says and I look to her. I nod because I can understand and I kissed her cheek. We all sat and talked for a while and a doctor or nurse would come into the room to check on Clementine.
"Hey aren't you supposed to be at work?" Clem asked and I wave it off.
"They'll understand, I'll head there tomorrow and tell them what happened, might have to do extra work or get heed out but I'll deal with it." I tell her and she sighed.
"Please just go in today and tell them I don't think they'll enjoy you being absent so long without telling." She says and I sighed and look to her.
"Clem will be fine; we'll make sure of it." Lee says and I look to her as she nods and I get up and kissed her head gently.
"I'll be back after I talk to them." I tell her. Lee then hands me the keys to his car and I nod as I go and head to work. As I head to the office, I knock on the lieutenant's door and he opened it.
"Aldon, I thought you went AWOL." He says.
"No, never sir I just… there was an accident-."
"Is everyone ok?" he asked and I rubbed my neck.
"Clementine uh… lost her leg and I just… I was worried, I'll do extra work I didn't think to call I was in such a rush." I tell him.
"Hey it's ok… do you need some leave time?" He asked.
"Uh I'll ask Clem she wanted me to come in and… I don't know." I tell him.
"Well take today off and then when you talk to Clementine, we can discuss your leave time if you need it." He says and I think a bit.
"Can… can Clem get checked here on base?" I asked.
"Of course, she is a veteran, just get the proper paperwork from the VA and we can talk to her." He explained and I nod as I get all the information I needed for Clementine. It took a few hours before I headed back to the hospital and I had gotten everyone something to eat. I walk in the room and see Clementine asleep and I hand Lee his keys and some food as well and gave the others their food and drinks. I take a seat next to Clementine and look to her a bit and we ate our food.
"The VA is going to help Clementine, they explained how they can help her get a new leg along with some physical therapy and anything else she needs." I explained to Lee and Carley.
"I didn't even think of that." Lee says and I nod.
"Same here, I just… forgot." I say and looked to Clementine. It would be a few months but Clem had suggested I take some leave time for a week to help take her to the physical therapist so they can teach her how to properly walk with her new leg, I felt bad every time I went to work while she was dealing with this. Louis and the others did come over yesterday and Ruby said she would take care of Clem while I was at work and that's where I was currently. I was looking through papers and then there is a knock on the door so I get up and see my Lieutenant.
"Oh hello sir." I say as I let him in.
"Hello, Aldon… so I was wondering a few things." He says as he gets in.
"Straight to the point?" I asked and he looked to be thinking.
"I know you're on office duty since what happened back over seas but… would you mind going back?" He asked and I take a seat as does he.
"I uh… I would have to think on it." I tell him.
"Right, right I get that." He says and then stays quiet for a bit and I look to him.
"Do you need me to go back?" I asked and he sighed.
"There is a group out there that's been missing, and we don't know if they are dead or alive." He says.
"So, a rescue mission?" I asked and he nods.
"Yes exactly." He says and I think a bit.
"I'll have to talk to Clementine." I tell him and he nods.
"Just… just think on it." He says and I nod at this. When I finished up work I went home and as I get in the house, I see Clementine and the others in the living room and Ducky was quacking at Louis.
"Your duck hates me." He says as he was on the couch and Clementine was laughing at this.
"You should stop taking her strawberries." Clementine says and I head to the room and change my clothes and I come back into the living room.
"Hey what's got you down?" I hear and look to Ruby and I then look to Clementine.
"Uh… I need to talk to Clementine when you guys' head out." I tell them.
"Need us to go now?" Mitch asked and I shake my head.
"No not now." I say as I take a seat with Clementine and she hits my foot with her stump and I smile.
"Want me to rub your foot?" I joked.
"Oh no, just wanted to kick you." She says and I smiled.
"You should see her when she tried the new leg, looked like a baby deer." Ruby says and I chuckled. Clementine lays her head on my shoulder and I hear some music playing on the radio.
"So, I was thinking about going and getting some food, anyone want anything?" Louis asked.
"Usual for me." I say and everyone else told him what they wanted. I rubbed the back of Clementine's head gently and she cuddles into me closer and I look to the radio.
"So, when's the wedding?" Ruby asked and her and then the others laughed as it was a joke and I look to Clementine as she looked to me and I look to the others.
"Well, we had to reschedule it so it's actually next year." Clem says and I look to the others as they stopped laughing.
"Wait… seriously?" Ruby asked and I nod.
"Yep, next year." I tell them.
"Holy shit dude that is awesome, wait till Louis hears about this." Mitch says.
"Please don't knowing him he'd try to pay for the damn thing." I mutter.
"Aww come on he's got to know at least." Aasim says.
"And he will but he's to nice for his own good, we will tell him." Clem says and they nod in agreement and I relax a bit. Louis came back with the food and we just sat in the living room and ate.
"I also went and got some beer if anyone wants some." Louis says and I sit up.
"I can go for one." I say and he nods and goes and gives me one. I opened the top and drank some and looked to Clem and offered her some but she shook her head as she ate one of my fries and I smirk at her. Another week would pass and the others had to leave but Clementine said it was ok. I never got to tell Clem about what the Lieutenant had asked and right now seems like the best time.
"Hey Clem." I say as we washed the dishes.
"Yes Violet?" She asked as she handed me a plate and I dried it off.
"Um… they want to send me back overseas." I say and look to her as she stopped washing the dishes and she looked to me.
"But you can't go back-."
"It's just… a small rescue mission, I'm already fucking up the time they have but I just… I just wanted you to know." I tell her.
"No." She says.
"Clem I can't-."
"And what if you die over there? We were fucking lucky, why send you back? Why?" She asked and I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Tell them no." She says and I look to the counter a bit and I sighed.
"I can't… these are people too." I tell her.
"Send someone else than, you've already done your part, and so have I and the others, tell them no." She says and I groaned a bit.
"Clementine I can't just… these people want to go home too, what if it was you or I that needed to be rescued?" I asked her and she stayed quiet.
"I still say tell them to fuck off, you don't need to go back over there, they have plenty of capable people to do the job, we weren't the only snipers there, we weren't the only medics, they don't need to risk your life for them." She tells me.
"I'm still in the Army Clem, I can't just say no." I tell her.
"You have already done your time over there." She says and then stopped washing the dishes and leaves the kitchen and I rubbed my face a bit as I hear her door slam and I shut my eyes.
"God damn it." I mutter and I look to her door and I go up to it and I knock lightly.
"Clem?" I asked but no answer.
"Clem come on, you know it's the right thing to do." I tell her through the door but still nothing.
"Clem." I say and she opens the door quickly and she was actually glaring at me.
"I've already spoken my mind… I'm tired and I want to go to bed." She says then closes the door in my face and I look at the door and lean my head on it a bit.
"I…" I stop and sighed as I go and finish the dishes and then head to bed myself. I wake up early and head into work early. I sit in my office and I look to all the papers on the desk. I look through everything until I hear a knock at the door and look up to see the Lieutenant as they look to me.
"When do I head out?" I asked.
"Tomorrow morning." He says and I nod. The day seems to have dragged on longer than I would have liked. I didn't eat lunch at all, and I just kept working. When I finally get home Clementine still didn't talk to me and I rubbed the back of my neck as I go over to her as she was making dinner.
"You missed lunch." She says and I nod.
"It's fine… not really hungry." I tell her.
"Will you at least eat dinner?" She asked and I shrugged.
"Probably not… I don't think I can stomach anything right now." I tell her truthfully. She sighs and looked to me and I look to her a bit and I rubbed my neck.
"I'm… I'm going to bed early… sorry." I tell her and she nods and I kissed her cheek gently and then head to my room and lay in my bed after setting my alarm to wake up early in the morning.
