(Violet's Pov)
I woke up to the sound of thunder and I look to see Clementine laying on top of me. I look more and notice we were very naked and I turned red at this. I look around the room a bit and find our clothes piled up in one area which I was glad about, but I couldn't reach them. I look back to Clementine and I slowly rubbed her back making her shift a bit in her sleep. She didn't wake up though which I was glad about.
I feel her arms try and hold me but it was hard to do so due to how she was positioned. I see her brows furrow a bit and I smiled as I moved my one arm from the back of my head and wrapped my arms around her. She stopped her furrow and I kissed her head gently and I can see her smile a bit at this. I couldn't help but smile myself, but I get to thinking. This was a onetime deal, right? Or would we just do this at random times? Was this really ok with her? I didn't want her to feel like she had to do this, I didn't want her to be uncomfortable.
I was probably overthinking all this, maybe she was a little emotional with the argument we had with Louis, I don't know. I hope she wasn't thinking I didn't want this. Cause I did want this, but… did she want this?
"Hmm, stop thinking." She mutters as she put her hand on my face and I couldn't help but chuckle a bit as I moved my hand and put my arm back to the back of my head. I relax a bit and I feel Clem move her hand up and down my side a bit and I look to her a bit. She looked to me and I kissed her on her temple and then looked to the top bunk and take a breath. I don't know how long we were like this but Clementine gets up and leans over to the bed a bit. I look to see as she grabbed her shorts and bra and I look to her as she looked to me.
"I was enjoying the view." I tell her as she put her bra on and she laughed.
"Well, you can enjoy it later, I have to check on AJ." She says and I nod as she hands me my clothes and I put them on.
"So, you're saying we will be doing this again?" I asked and she looked to me and turned red and nods. I smile a bit and kissed her on the side of her head and she looked to me.
"Doesn't have to be soon, only when you are ready." I tell her and she nods just a little and I smiled at her. When we were both fully dressed, we go and head to AJ's room where we see he's sleeping. We didn't go in but closed the door so we wouldn't bother him. I look to Clem as she looked to the ground a bit and I look to the side of the hallway just for a bit. I feel her grab my hand gently and I look to our hands a bit. I think and take her to my room and I told her I would be back. I head down to Ruby's room and knock on her door a bit.
It took a little while before she answered the door and I ask her if it was ok if I went and grabbed some stuff from the garden, she said sure and to be careful the rain had gotten worse. I nod and head on out and it was pouring like crazy. I hurry over to the garden and shake my hair of any water. I head to the back and grabbed the joints and I look to them a bit and place them in the inside of my vest. I looked around a bit and grabbed a few strawberries hoping Clementine would like them. I hear the thunder and look just as lightning flashed quickly. I hurry on out the garden and head straight to my room.
Once I was inside I lock the door and head over to Clementine who was looking out the window. I come up next to her and she looked to me a little confused as I was wet. I pulled out the joint and the strawberries and she couldn't help but laugh at this. I loved to hear her laugh. It was nice to see her laugh too.
"Get dried off you goof." She says and I nod as I set the stuff on the desk and I grabbed a towel.
"To be fair I should have brought the jar but don't want AJ and Willy getting easy access to the stuff." I tell her and I grabbed some dry clothes. I change into them and then look to her as she had a strawberry and she took a bit and smiled.
"God the last time I had a strawberry was so long ago." She says and I smile as we go and take a seat by the window. We opened it up just a bit to let the smoke out and I made sure the bottom of the door was covered up. I light up the joint for her and hand it to her as she looked to me and she takes a hit. I watch her as she relaxes a bit against the wall and she hands the joint back to me. I take a hit of the joint and we pass it back and forth. I would look to the window a bit as the lightning flashed and I lean back a bit. Clem laid her head on my lap and I place my hand to the top of her head, noticing her hat wasn't there. I looked to see it on the dresser and I nod and look to Clem as she had her eye closed.
She looked to be sleeping but I knew she wasn't. She moved to grab my hand gently and I smile as she messed with my hand a bit. I run my fingers through her hair and she looked so content with what we were doing. I listen to the thunder and the rain hitting the school.
"Could you play your guitar again?" She asked and I look to her. She opens her eye and looks to me.
"Oh, uh sure." I say and look to my side and grabbed the guitar. She moved so she was sitting up and leaned her head on my shoulder as I positioned the guitar correctly. I think a bit and start strumming. Though this was a song I had heard many years ago I just didn't feel like singing the words.
"This sounds nice." She whispers and I nod gently as I keep playing. I start to feel my arms grow a bit heavy so I slow down on playing but I still play none the less. I feel her lean more into me and I smile as I keep playing for her. She just keeps her head laying on my shoulder and as I finished playing I think of another song and start playing a new one for her.
She moved a bit to look at me and I look at her as I strum the string slowly and she kissed me on the cheek and I smile at her. I stopped playing the guitar and I set it to the side. She looked to me and before I could kiss her there was a knock at the door and I look to it. I feel Clem place a hand on my lap as we waited for someone to speak or to knock again. There was another knock and I sighed as I get up and go to the door. Once I open it I see Louis and glare at him.
"Is Clem in here?" He asked.
"No." I tell him.
"You're lying." He says.
"So? You think I'm going to let her talk to you?" I asked him.
"Look I just want to talk to her… alone." He says and I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn to look at Clem as she wrapped her arms around my waist and leans her chin on my shoulder as she looked to Louis.
"What do you want?" She asked.
"I just want to talk." He says.
"Ok?... talk." She says.
"I was hoping we could talk alone." He says.
"Hmmm, no." She says and he looked to the both of us.
"Look it's best if we talk alone." He tells her.
"She said no." I tell him.
"God damn it, look Clem I just need to ask you a question." He says.
"You can ask with Violet here." She says.
"You two are stoned, aren't you?" He asked. Clementine laughed a bit and she nods.
"Yes, now leave us alone, we were relaxing." She tells him.
"Jesus fuck and what if Walkers broke in right now? You two are so out of it." He says.
"Dude shut the fuck up." I tell him.
"No, you two wanted to bash on me, you two are doing something so fucking stupid." He says and I just looked to him unamused.
"We aren't doing anything stupid, now just go back to your room-."
"No, you two are doing something stupid." He says and I roll my eyes and look to him.
"Just go Louis, she doesn't want to talk to you and right now you're bothering us." I tell him.
"What screwing each other." He says and I shrugged.
"None of your business." I say and then closed the door and locked it. He started to bang on the door and I look to Clementine as she looked to the door. The banging continued for a few minutes before Aasim yelled out for whoever to quit making that sound. Once it stopped I hear Louis mutter something and I shake my head and looked to Clem as she went back over to the window. I follow her and take a seat next to her.
"We might end up leaving once this storm passes." She says and I look to her. At this point I was hoping that the storm would never go away. But I get it, Louis was being annoying. I picked up my guitar and looked to her then hand it to her. She looked to me and shakes her head so I take it back and start to play it again.
"When I first started to play, my fingers would bleed." I tell her.
"Oh?" She asked and I nod.
"Yeah, but my hands are so calloused now that it doesn't bother me… I refused to use a guitar pick." I tell her.
"Did you regret it?" She asked and I shake my head.
"Nope, cause now I can play and not worry about finding any new picks, or them falling in my guitar." I tell her as I keep playing.
"Don't you need to replace the guitar strings?" She asked and I shake my head.
"No, not unless they break, they're still good." I tell her and she nods.
"Well for my standards they are still good." I mutter and she laughed a bit. It would be a few days before the rain finally stopped. We were all outside checking out any damage, the greenhouse was fine, the barrels were full of water at least, and I went and checked on the graveyard. Sadly the grave markers had been broken and I went too look for them as they were in pieces. I couldn't find Brody's sadly and I rubbed the back of my neck.
"I found it." I hear and look to AJ as he runs up with the cross. I smile as I take it from him and we fix them up as best as we could. I step back a bit to look at our work and nod at this. AJ looked to me and I smile a bit and he looked to me as I pat his head. He smiled and I take him over to Clem as she was saying bye to the others. I look to AJ sadly as he went to say bye to them as well and I look to Clem as she looked to me.
She had decided to leave when Louis kept coming and bothering us as we were working inside the school during the storm. It got so bad at one point that Louis and I had fought, honest to god a fist fight. Mitch and Aasim had to pull us apart. She looked to me a bit and nods and I nod back to her. She said that they might be back but she didn't know when, could be months from now, could even be years. But I understood.
AJ ran up to me and gave me a big hug. He and Clementine then left out the gates and I sighed a bit and then got back to work. It was the only thing I could do at this point. The others were just quiet as well. It was boring here without Clementine and AJ, the months would pass and we had gotten use to it but it still was sad knowing they weren't here. I missed AJ asking questions no matter how stupid he thought they were. I miss Clementine when we went on our small trips to the river or even to the town. I rubbed my face a bit as I was outside in the heat working on gate a bit. The bolts had rusted up and made them tilt into the ground making it hard to open.
"Hey you should take a break." I hear and look to Ruby as she comes up to me with some water and I take a drink.
"Nah it's fine, we need to fix this gate soon, Aasim and Mitch said a heard was on it's way and I want to make sure we have this gate fixed up." I tell her and she nods.
"I know but it's fine just to take a short break." She says and I sighed a bit. Rosie then ran up to us and I pet her head gently. She barked a bit then ran around a bit, I think she was looking for Marlon and then barked when she found him. She runs up to him and I look back to the gate a bit.
"Just need to get some new bolts but it still might be tilted unless I can get some type of quick cement." I mutter and take another drink of my water.
"We can see if we can head into the town to see if we can find any, but with how Mitch and Aasim made it sound the heard was real close." She says and I nod at this.
"We can jerry rig it for now." I tell her and then I head up the watch tower. She followed me and hands me the tools I need and I walk across it a bit till I get to the gate. Ruby then heads on down and pushes the gate upward so I could tie a rope around it properly. I take a metal spike and jam it into the wall top then hammer the rest of it in for a tight fit. Ruby tested the gate out and it seemed to work. Thought this was just a temporary fix, it would have to do for now till I could fix it properly.
"Looks good from here Vi." Ruby says and I nod to her as I head to the makeshift watchtower. The heard of Walkers would pass and storms would as well for the next few months. It would be about two years that pass and I'm currently out in the woods looking at the traps that had been set off. This winter was looking to be a bad one but luckily, I had my rifle with me. I told the others I was going to try and find some deer so I would be out longer than usual. I trek through the snow hearing it crunch with every step I took.
I would look for any tracks to follow but it was getting hard with some of the fresh snow falling onto the ground. I don't know how long I was out or how far I had gotten but what I do know is that I heard a familiar growling sound. I look around and see a walker so I move my rifle to my back and I grabbed my hunting knife. But before I could do anything I look to the side when I hear some shuffling in the bushes. The Walker heard as well and started to come at me before someone comes out of the bushes and kicked the Walker. I hurry to help them and stabbed the Walker in the head and I take a breath as pulled the knife out.
"I leave for two years and yet you still decide to go off on your own?" I hear and look to see Clementine and then I see AJ come out of the bushes as well as he shakes the snow off his own hat.
"Haha, shit you got bigger." I say as he looked to me and smiled.
"Hell, yeah I did, Clem also said I'm allowed to cuss more too." He says and I laughed at this as I see Clem roll her eye.
"He's been like this since his birthday last week." She says and I laughed more.
"Well, you were cussing at my age." He says and I smile at them.
"You two just passing by?" I asked.
"Yeah, we are." Clem says and I nod.
"Well mind keeping me company for a bit, tell me what you two have been up to." I suggest and they nod as they come with me as we looked around the woods some more.
"And then we met up with these Amish people, they have lots of land and they helped Clementine, we've been helping them to repay for what they did for her." AJ explained and I look to him then to Clementine. I look to her a bit as we walked and noticed her leg seemed a bit off.
"Something happened to your leg?" I asked and she nods as she looked back to me.
"Yeah, about a year and a half ago AJ and I got trapped at the old pharmacy in Georgia, Walker got me really good." She says and I look to her a bit.
"Walker bit her leg." AJ says and I look to Clementine but she just kept looking forward. I go up to her making her stop and I look to her leg then to her.
"You got bitten?" I asked and she nods just a bit.
"We can rest up in the old cabin, it's a few miles out but it's safe, plus there's going to be a big storm." She tells me and I nod. We walked and walked until we finally reached a cabin and walked in. I shake the snow off me and Clementine laughed a bit and I look to her.
"I can get a fire going." AJ says and I go to help him. When we got the fire going I look to Clem as she took a seat on the couch and she rubbed what I assume was her bad leg and I look to her as she looked to me and smiled a bit at me. It took a while for the cabin to get warmed up but once it was and the fire was going strong AJ and I go and take a seat next to her on each side.
"What are you doing out here on your own anyway?" Clem asked and I look to her.
"Well Aasim is helping Ruby with Mitch and Willy, they got sick from staying out in the snow for too long, Of course Omar has been making them soup, Marlon has been going back to making plans on how to keep Walkers out." I explained.
"What about Louis?" Clem asked and I shake my head.
"He keeps acting like a brat, doesn't want to help anyone unless we help him in return, so we just stopped asking him to do stuff… all he's been doing is moping in the music room too." I tell her.
"Well, that's dumb." AJ says and I nod a bit.
"So, what uh… how have you two been? Besides meeting with some Amish people." I asked.
"There was this one girl that tried to get with Clem." AJ says and I laughed at this.
"Oh, still a heart breaker?" I asked and she rolled her eye.
"Trust me this girl just wanted me for se- uh well things." She says and I nod knowing AJ didn't know of that type of adult thing.
"Hm, so was that all she wanted?" I asked and she shrugged a bit. We waited till AJ had gone to bed before we actually talked.
"That girl was a strange one, just because I helped her and her friend… doesn't matter we left them about a month ago, Walker heard passed on through so AJ and I took the opportunity to leave, though I still owe the doctor there." She tells me.
"How bad was it?" I asked and looked to her leg.
"Bit through my damn boot." She mutters and I look at her.
"But you'd be proud of AJ, he cut it off just in time, made sure I was ok and everything…. Even when he was scared, he still kept a brave face… even when I told him to." She stopped and I look to her and placed my hand on her shoulder.
"Anyway, you'd be proud of him." She says and I nod.
"…. So can I see the leg?" I asked and she laughed at this. She nods and pulls her one pant leg up and I see the fake leg she had. It looked a lot different, hell I didn't even notice it but she wasn't wearing a boot or shoe with her fake leg.
"Shit." I mutter.
"Yeah… anyway how have you been?" She asked and I look to her.
"Fine… was sad for a while but I got use to it." I tell her and she looked to me.
"I was sad too… I didn't want to leave but." She tried to say and I smile a bit.
"I know, it's fine Clem I understand." I tell her and she looked to the side then back to me. I look at her and she kisses my cheek and I hold her hand gently. We hear the wind pick up a bit and I look to the fire a bit then got up and put more wood to the flames. I go back over to Clementine and take a seat next to her. She lays her head on my shoulder and I get to thinking a bit. This was a nice place, a small cabin in the woods, hard to find if you weren't looking for it. It was close to the school too. I hold Clem's hand more and I rubbed the back of her hand a bit.
I got to think some more and I look to Clem as her eye was closed and her breathing had slowed down a bit. She must be tired if she had fallen asleep this fast. I looked to see a blanket and I moved her off me gently as I got up from the couch and I lay the blanket on her to keep her warm. I would keep watch here and there for a while before I would check on the flames and just think some more. By the time morning came I was seated in a recliner by the window looking as the snow was falling gently to the ground.
I hear some shifting and looked to the couch where Clementine was and she was getting up. She looked around a bit and then she looked to me and I smile a bit. I go to my bag and grabbed some food Omar had packed for me just in case. I just grab one of those camping pots and heat some up for both her and AJ. As AJ came to the living room, I had a bowl made for him and we all ate our breakfast. It was a nice to spend with them. When we finish our food, I get up and we get ready to head out.
"Want to come over to the school for a bit? The others would be happy to see you guys." I suggest.
"Just a quick visit." Clem says and I nod.
"That's fine." I tell her and she nods. We kept walking in the woods and I was able to find some food for the others, a few rabbits which Omar could use. When we got to the school I let them in and I see Clem looking at the makeshift rope at the top.
"Oh uh, bolt rusted, had to make a makeshift holder for the gate." I tell her.
"You haven't fixed it?" She asked.
"Been really busy with making that water generator… come look." I say as I let them inside and the lights were on.
"I'm quite surprised." Clem says and I nod.
"Marlon was able to fix the wires, and Mitch helped too along with Willy." I tell her and she nods.
"Violet how was… Well hello Clementine, AJ nice to see you two again." Ruby says as she comes up and gives them each a hug. Clem looked a little surprised and I chuckled a bit.
"Got a few rabbits for Omar, Oh and they might stay a bit, not to long though." I tell Ruby who nods and I go give Omar the rabbits. I come back just as Clem was explaining what had happened to her leg as she showed Ruby the fake leg.
"AJ did a really good job." Clem says to her.
"Well, if you need any medicine or help don't hesitate to come back, oh Violet, Marlon wanted to know when you got back if you could help him go into town, he needs more light bulbs for our rooms." Ruby says and I nod.
"Sure, I can do that." I say.
"Can I come?" AJ asked and I look to Clem who nods.
"Sure, no reason he can't." She says and I nod. Both AJ and I went to Marlon who was happy to see AJ and he gives him a pat on the back and showed AJ the map on where we would be going.
"You guys cleared out the Walkers?" AJ asked.
"Well not all of them, but we had some areas blocked off so it would be harder for Walkers to just sneak in." He says and AJ nods.
"Aasim had fun setting some of the Walkers on fire." I joke and we all laughed.
"What time should we head out? I'm guessing Clem is here too?" Marlon asked.
"Yeah, she is, though right now we should let her relax a bit, and I think we can go after lunch, I got some rabbits for Omar." I explained and he nods.
"Sure… Hey AJ want to see how we got the electricity going?" Marlon asked and AJ nods as him and Marlon go to the other side of the school. I look back to the map and look to Rosie who was sleeping on the mattress on the side. I go up to her and pet her head gently and she looked to me and licked my hand. It wasn't long till I go to Omar and the others as lunch was being served and I grabbed a bowl and ate a bit. I see Louis looking over to Clem and AJ a bit and then he sees me looking at him and he looked away.
Before AJ, Marlon and I leave I tell Clem she can stay in my room if she wanted which she thanks me for. I then go with Marlon and AJ as we head out to the town. The snow had stopped falling which was good since the snow had gotten up to my ankles at this point. We finally reached the town and we grabbed what few lightbulbs they had, many of them broken from the panic when all this started and Marlon was looking in the box a bit agitated. Guess it was another broken bulb.
"Stupid bulbs." He mutters and I had to agree with him.
"I found a few here." AJ says as he comes up bit the boxes and shows Marlon who takes a look at them and nods as he puts them in the bag.
"If we find a deer out this way we should get it and take it to Omar." I say as we see a racoon run on by.
"Yeah, some more salt too." Marlon says as we walked.
"How has everything been since we left?" AJ asked and we both look to him.
"Eh civil I suppose, we all got to work together so that's a plus." Marlon tell him and we head over to the other hardware store. There were lots of stuff used for farming and animals still here and plenty of jackets, pants, boots and other items we could use. We grabbed some jackets for everyone and I grabbed a pair of overalls, I have to go under the school at some point to help Marlon, hell we even found some paint for the walls.
"Might as well repaint while we can." Marlon says and I nod and I look to see an old sled and we set the bigger items on it. By the time we were done we had lots of supplies and we start to head back to the school, Marlon and I pulling the sled.
"I saw the burnt area of the school was cleaned up." AJ says and I nod.
"Yeah had to clean it up, and replace some of the wood on the side of the building, thinking about rebuilding that side and make it a spare room for us to go into, hell we were thinking about building a meat locker until we just made one outside since we got the heat working." I explained.
"You guys have been busy." He says.
"Well you must have been busy too." Marlon says and AJ nods.
"Yeah, but the group we were with didn't use any of this stuff." He tells him and Marlon looked to me.
"Amish group." I tell him and he nods.
"Yeah, that's what Clem says, they make really good Jams and fresh bread, it's like Walkers never were there." AJ tells us.
"Think they'd be willing to trade for some jams?" Marlon asked.
"Oh they're in Pennsylvania that's far from here." AJ tells him.
"Damn, would have been great." Marlon says and I laughed.
"Hey Omar's jam is great, just need to get some wheat to make the bread." I tell him and he nods.
"That's true." He says. When we get back to the school Ruby tells me that Clem decided to go rest up in my room and I nod and AJ goes to see her. Marlon and I got to work and set the supplies where they were needed and we would start painting the inside of the school in a few days. I would walk around a bit and see where any wood was rotted and make note on how much wood we would need, we could cut some of the trees and make our own which was good, we even planted some trees to replace the ones we cut.
I finished looking around and checked my notes and nodded as I go to my room before I see Louis at the door and he looked to me. He then walked away but not before bumping into me and I glare at him as I turn around. Once I get in the room Clementine was asleep on my bed and I chuckled just a little as I go and take my jacket off and sit at my desk. I draw out some plans for the replacement on the walls and I even looked back to how we were going to rebuild the old burnt section of the school.
As I kept working I didn't notice someone behind me until I look up and see AJ as he looked to my papers and I showed him what I was working on. He asked if he would help with the drawings and I nod as I hand him some papers and he got to work. And that's what we did for about and hour, maybe two. AJ then said he was going to go help Ruby and I nod as he hands me his papers and I look them over. I tack them to the cork board in front of me and I lean back in my chair a bit as I look to his design and then to mine. Though his wasn't as detailed he still had a good idea.
I kept looking to his drawings before I feel two hands on my shoulders and I move my head a bit and see Clementine as she looked to my papers and then to AJ's papers. I pat her hand gently and she looked to me and smiled a bit and I smile back at her. I think for a bit as I stand up and she looked up to me.
"Have a nice nap?" I asked and she nods.
"Yeah." She says quietly and I nod and go and grabbed my guitar and look to her and she smiled. We go and take a seat on my bed and I begin to play for her.
"I was thinking… maybe I should leave the school." I tell her as I kept playing.
"Why would you do that?" She asked as I kept playing.
"Don't get me wrong, I love it here, it's my home, has been for the past eleven years but… with Louis still being the way he is, I just can't deal with it anymore… especially when he doesn't want to help us… only thing he's done was maybe help with the digging portion for the river but after that, nothing." I tell her.
"Where would you go?" She asked me.
"Maybe to that cabin we were at… I wouldn't be to far from the school, but I would be on my own, you know get some form of independence." I tell her.
"Going alone isn't a good thing, who would watch or help you?" She asked.
"You did it." I tell her and we look to each other.
"Not saying I'm like you, no one is as bad ass as you are, but… I don't know… maybe use it as a getaway." I tell her and she just kept looking at me then I messed up on a not and looked to my guitar a bit.
"I don' know if it would be good for you to just go on your own, I mean look at all the stuff you and the others have done." She tells me and look to the bed a bit before I looked to Clementine.
"Maybe I don't want to be here anymore… maybe I want a place where… you and AJ could stay without having to deal with Louis… and we could visit the others." I tell her.
"You'd do that… for me and AJ?" She asked and I nod a bit at this.
"I mean it would be great… plus again I feel like I would like to leave." I tried to explain to her.
"Has Louis done anything while we were gone? I mean to you?" She asked and I look at her a bit and sighed then set my guitar on the ground and it leaned against my bed a bit.
"No but knowing he's a constant reminder on why you and AJ left is just… it makes me angry, I mean we fought a lot and yeah he would blame me for what happened to Tenn and then say it was my fault you left... I mean I believe it even a little." I tell her. I feel her place her hands on the sides of my face and she made me look at her and I couldn't help but smile a bit at her.
"You know it's not true right?" She asked and I shrugged.
"I mean… if I never tried-."
"Don't… I chose to be with you, and we had feelings for each other… and still do?" She asked and I nod a bit. Yes, I still had feelings for Clementine, who wouldn't?
"You still like me?" I asked and she nods.
"Of course… I mean you are the only person I ever liked in this type of way… and I mean after what we did… I can't get it out of my head." She says with a blush and I laughed at this.
"I have that effect on you hu?" I joked and she shoves me.
"Actually, never mind the feelings are gone." She says and I smirk a bit as I grabbed her hand and then her waist and pulled her to me and she turned even more red and I chuckled.
"You break my heart Clem." I tell her and she looked to me a bit.
"Oh?" She asked.
"Such a heartbreaker." I joke and she laughed a bit as I kissed her neck.
"Ok, ok." She says and I moved back a bit and we look to each other for a bit.
"Anyway, yeah so about you moving out." She says.
"Hmm?" I asked and she just looked to me.
"I can't tell you not to, just think about it a little more, ok?" She asked and I nod a bit.
"I might leave during the summer, maybe midsummer." I tell her.
"Well, that's a lot of time." She says and I nod at this.
"You plan on leaving in the morning?" I asked.
"Maybe the afternoon." She says and I smirk.
"Thinking about sleeping in?" I asked.
"Ok, I sleep in sometimes, it's not THAT big of a deal." She says and I laughed a little.
"Well just imagine if I did move to the cabin… would be nice, I could be a witch in the woods." I joke and she looked to me.
"You'd make your house out of gingerbread?" She asked and I couldn't help but laugh some more.
"No." I laughed and she looked to me.
"Well, you can't be a witch in the woods." She says.
"You expect me to eat kids?" I asked her.
"Well, that's what witches do right?" She asked.
"Not all of them… besides Walkers took that job already." I say and she starts laughing.
"Jus-Just imagine a W-Walker with a witch hat." She laughed and I imagine it and couldn't help but laugh as well.
"Jesus fuck." I laugh and she held the front of my shirt. I look to her as she looked to me as well. She kissed my cheek and I look at her. I then look to her good hand which still had the ring on it. I gently take her hand in mine and I look to the ring.
"Where is yours?" She asked as she looked to my hand.
"Oh had to take it off when I was working, but I found some string." I say as I pull the string around my neck and showed her the ring attached to it. She gently takes it in her hand and messes with it a bit and I look to her.
"So… about us?" I asked.
"What about us?" She asked.
"Well… I'm ok with what we're doing but… um…. Maybe one day." I try to ask her and she looked to me.
"One day." She says and I nod. The door was then burst open and Clem and I quickly pull apart to see AJ who looked to us.
"I said no kissing stuff." He says and I look to Clem who had the look of shock on her face and I laugh so hard.
"We weren't doing that AJ." She says.
"Suuure you weren't." He says then he looked to me and I stopped laughing.
"No kissing stuff." He says and I take two fingers and make a salute to him.
"Got it sir." I tell him and he nods at this. He then went and grabbed something from his bag and then ran out the room closing the door and I look to Clem who was red in the face. She covered her face with her hands and I laughed a little as she takes a big sigh.
"Kissing stuff?" I asked.
"You know what he meant but he doesn't know what he meant." She says and I smirk.
"Oh, got it, well I should listen to him, can't be disobeying his orders." I say and she shoves my shoulder.
"And what if I wanted to?" She asked.
"Oh, does Clem want to?" I asked.
"Shut it." She says.
"Well, I need to know." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Maybe later tonight… maybe." She says and I nod. We then hear Ruby call for us and we head on out the room and to the main hallway.
"Everything ok?" I asked.
"Yeah just time for dinner, also Marlon said something about you having plans for the new extension?" Ruby asked.
"Oh right, right I'll be right back." I say and Ruby goes and takes Clem to get some food and I grabbed the papers. I then come in and don't see Louis which I was happy about so I go and take a seat next to Clem and hand the papers to Marlon who looked them over as we ate dinner. He said it was a good idea and if I could work more on it which I agreed. Ruby asked if we were going to paint the room and I nod but also said we would paint the rest of the school inside. AJ asked if he could help and I nod and pat his head a bit.
"Sure, we aren't leaving till the afternoon, least we can do is help." Clem says.
"Damn thought you'd stay longer." Ruby says and Clem shrugged.
"Sorry, though it would be nice but AJ and I have a whole trip planned." She says.
"What going to all fifty states?" I asked.
"That, and we did get to go to Canada." AJ says and we looked to the both of them.
"You went that far?" I asked and she nods.
"Yeah, though it wasn't as fun, but it was the only way we could get to Alaska, we found some snowmobiles there too." Clem explained and she tells us more of what they did. It was fascinating to hear all that she's done. It got me wanting to do that myself. To explore as much as I could, to have some fun and not be stuck here. I clear that thought out of my head though. It's just best if I started out at the cabin. No point in going to far from the school, even if traveling did sound like fun.
We finished dinner and I went to my room and AJ asked if he could stay in his old room. Clem says it was ok so he runs down the hall and I look to her as she looked to me. I opened the door for her and let her in before I hear someone run up to us and I see AJ.
"No kissing stuff." He says.
"AJ." Clem says.
"I don't want to be a big brother just yet." He says and runs off and I looked to Clem.
"THAT'S NOT-!" She tried to call out and I hold back my laughter and cover my mouth with my hand a bit as I tried to keep myself from laughing. It was getting to the point where I couldn't stop as I finally bust out laughing and Clem shoved me.
"You… Have you not told him?" I laughed.
"He's still a kid." She says.
"Clearly he knows what kissing stuff is." I laughed as she shoved me into the room and I chuckled as she walked to the bed and I closed the door and lock it, just to be on the safe side.
"Yeah well, that's as much as he's going to know for now." She tells me and I nod just a little at this. I mean I get it, he's only nine years old.
"Ok yeah fair enough." I say and she nods.
"Good." She says and I chuckled a bit. I started to feel tired so I go and take my boots off and I go over to the bed and lay down. Clem lays on top of me and I place one arm on the back of my head and then my other arm on her back as I rubbed it a bit. I feel her mess with my makeshift necklaces a bit and I look to her a bit. She looked to me a bit as I look to her and she set the ring down and lays her head on my chest.
"Feels nice." She mutters and I nod at this. I don't know how long we stayed like this but it got to the point where I had put my hand under her shirt. She didn't stop me as I rubbed her back more and I look to her. She looked to me and smiles a bit then she kisses me and I kissed her back. Though we weren't together as in girlfriends or anything this was nice. I know we may never get together or maybe one day we will only time will tell. But right now, this was fine, I was fine with it and Clementine seemed fine with it too.
I grabbed the blanket and covered us up. Even if we had the heat going it still sometimes got cold at night. I feel her cuddle closer onto me and she looked up to me a bit and I look down at her. I keep rubbing her back gently and she moved to sit up a bit and I look to her as she looked down to me.
"You good?" I asked and she nods and then kissed me and I kissed her back. It got to the point where I had moved and pinned her to the bed as we kept kissing. I then moved and kissed her on the neck a bit. She placed her hands on the back of my head as I kept kissing her neck and I moved my free hand up her shirt as my other hand kept me up. I was just about to take her shirt off when there was a bang sound and I quickly look at where the sound came from. I look back to Clem as she looked to me and I get up and put my boots on and opened the door. I see the others as they leave their rooms and Clem came up behind me.
There was another bang and we go to where the sound was coming from and looked to see something over by the side of the window. I hurry and head outside as did the others and I round the corner but end up getting hit in the head with something metal and I fall back slipping. As I opened my eye and put my hand to my head to stop it from spinning and I see a gun in my face.
"WOAH STOP!" I hear and I lay my head back onto the ground.
"Violet." I hear and look to see Ruby and Clem but there was double of each of them.
"How many fingers?" I hear and I lay my head back.
"Ten… no… four." I mutter and close my eyes.
"Who the fuck are you?" I hear before I feel myself being dragged. I guess I was pretty out of it because I woke up to the sun hitting my head and I sit up a bit. I place my hand to my head and groaned a bit.
"Oh god." I mutter.
"How you feeling?" I hear and look to see Ruby.
"Ugh, like a train hit me." I mutter and lay my head back onto the pillow.
"Well, they did hit you with a cast iron skillet." She says.
"Who?" I asked as I get up.
"Oh, just some people that know Clementine." She says. I hear the door open and I see Clem as she walked in.
"You're awake." She says and I nod.
"Yeah… I'm good just… head still hurts." I tell her and she comes up to me and rubbed the back of my head a bit.
"Feel a little better?" Clem asked and I nod just a bit.
"I'm going to grab you some stew." Ruby says and I nod a bit and closed my eye a bit.
"I'm sorry for what they did, seems like they were running." Clem tells me.
"Who exactly?" I asked.
"Uh… well." She tried to say but stopped.
"They leave?" I asked and she nods.
"Yeah, they did, they ran as Marlon yelled at them but I knew it was… well Amos and uh… that girl I told you about." She says and I nod.
"Shit… I didn't mean to scare them." I mutter.
"I think it was a bunch of us all there that scared them." She says.
"Wonder who hit me… they have a good swing with that cast iron Ruby said they had." I tell Clem and she rubbed my head a little more.
"That would be the girl… are you sure you're, ok?" She asked and I nod a little but I lay back down.
"Ugh, just need some time to rest… feeling a little sick." I mutter.
"You might have a concussion." She says.
"Maybe… but I'm good right now." I tell her honestly. She hums a little and I just drift off back to sleep.
