Chapter 5
"Wow... What a view huh?"
They stood atop the high ground after spending several minutes of climbing up the path that they found nearby. And once they reached the top, a clear view of the nation of Mondstadt is being presented right before them.
Mountains and hills placed by the side, creating a frame for the picture of a green plains and forest surrounding a large blue like that shines brightly under the sun's gaze, and stood right in the middle of the said lake, is a city surrounded by large tall stone walls, with windmills poking out from the top of the walls spinning it's fans along with the breeze of the winds.
"So this is Mondstadt..." Lumine couldn't help but muttered out upon taking on the view. "And that must be the city."
"Yep, that is the city of Mondstadt right there, the city of bards and winds they say. It looks pretty amazing right?" Paimon replied to her, smiling light as she explained on what she knows about this nation.
Lumine has to agree, this whole scenery alone is already amazing for some reasons, it felt so relaxing, so... Peaceful. It's as if a cool breeze just blew past her that put out the heat in her body. A breath of fresh air to begin this long journey of hers.
"Gotta agree with you there." The voice of a certain deceased princess interrupted the calmness she felt in her mind, and Lumine find herself mentally frowning by the unwanted interruption. "This place's pretty good if I have to say so myself. It feels a little pleasant to see it still in one piece."
"What exactly do you mean by that?" Traveler Lumine asked, curious about the statement of "still in one piece" part.
"The last time I was here, Mondstadt is nothing but a ghost town." Abyss Lumine answered, her voice is devoid of remorse nor regret, speaking like she's stating some normal facts that everybody should know. "The stone walls would've been broken down to the ground, and the entire city is reduced to ruins devoid of life."
Traveler Lumine paused for a while when a guess pops out in her mind. "Is it... Because of the war?"
The voice inside her head hmph'ed at her question, as if feeling some sort of amusement from it.
"Welp, you can blame the nation for being too weak, or that excuse of a god who "leads" it."
"Heellooo! Paimon to Traveler! Please respond!"
The conversation inside her mind ended when Lumine hears the voice of Paimon, the fairy floats right in front of her face, swinging her hands before her eyes to snap her out of her daze, which she successfully did.
"Ah, sorry there Paimon, what were you saying?" Lumine shook her head to snap her out of her daze, focusing back to the matter at hand.
Paimon looks pretty annoyed for having to repeat herself, but she's still do it nonetheless.
"Paimon said, look down that take a look at that thing."
The white haired fairy pointed her tiny finger towards what lies below the cliff they're standing on, not too far away, there's a small lake placed in the middle of the small plain, and placed in the middle of that lake, is a small island where a tall structure made out of stone is erected. It kind of looks like a monument of sorts, or maybe just a statue to honor someone.
"That's a Statue of The Seven!" Paimon explained the tall stone structure in the distance. "There are a few of these statues scattered across the land to show The Seven's protection over the world. And among the seven gods, this god controls the wind."
"The wind... Is that one of the seven elements in this world? What do you call it again? A-ne-mo?" Lumine asked in curiosity.
"Uhuh, Anemo is the element that controls the wind." The little fairy nodded, putting both hands behind her back as she continued. "Paimon's not sure whether the god you're looking for is the Anemo God, but... Paimon'll take you to the Anemo God's place first, and there's a reason why~" Lumine simply nodded at her words.
"It's not this nation's god, right?" Traveler Lumine mentally asked her other self for confirmation.
"Definitely not." Abyss Lumine replied with a silent huff. "He's just one of seven lesser gods of this world. While the one that took your brother, is a major one. In other words, the Anemo God is just one of their slaves."
"I see. Then perhaps if we go around searching for The Seven, we could ask them a thing or two about the major gods." Traveler Lumine concluded, which earned a big sigh from her counterpart, making her mentally raising an eyebrow.
"I highly doubt that those lapdogs would reveal anything about their masters." Abyss Lumine spat out, sounding like she's already knowing it without even confirming it. "Well, maybe except for Buer, she's different from the others." She added, making Traveler Lumine confused again.
"Who's Buer?" Traveler Lumine asked in curiosity.
"The God of Wisdom from Sumeru. Unlike the others, she has little to no ties with the Heavenly Principles, which earned my respect. The only pity is, she's still an Archon nonetheless, just like the others. And that forces me to raise my blade against her during the war." Abyss Lumine answered, she does sounds a little remorseful for that one, perhaps this god she spoke off really is different than the rest.
"You just have to pick a fight with everybody, huh?" Traveler Lumine mentally mumbled, unimpressed in the slightest.
"If it means giving Tevyat its independence from the dirty hands of the gods, sacrifices are necessary." The deceased spirit of the Abyss Princess replied.
"Come on, don't just stand over there, let's go check on the statue first!" Paimon's voice once again snap her back to reality, turning her head to see the fairy already descending the path leading down.
"A-Ah, right." Lumine nodded, following after her companion.
"Better follow her instructions. That statue is the answer we're looking for."
"How does it gonna help us exactly?" Traveler Lumine asked in confusion and curiousity.
"You'll see."
Descending the path to the plains below, and then swimming over the lake to reach the small island in the middle of it. The statue is bigger than what it seems now that she stood below it, it towers over her with it's size that is about three or four times taller. The statue is swirling with divine energy, Lumine could feel it, it softly brushes against the grass and flowers around it, and some even flicked at the small insects on the ground as well.
"People believes that these statues are built in order to establish the god's rule over the territory, hence why travelers passing by would pray on them and asks them for their blessings for their journey." Paimon then turned to look at Lumine, a look of contemplation is visible on her face. "Paimon knows it's a god that took your brother, but... Maybe you should give it a try?" She offered a bit hesitantly, seemingly afraid to offend the Traveler.
"Hmm..." Lumine looks at the statue before her, a figure of a god holding out a sphere with both hands stood above her, seemingly watching over her, observing her every move.
"Go ahead, touch it, this is the solution I have in mind." Even the voice in her head encourages her to do it, and so Lumine hesitated no longer.
She slowly walks over to the statue, carefully observing it one more time, before gently placing her palm on the base of the structure.
The moment her soft finger touches the rough surface of the statue, soft golden lights sparks into existence in the place where her hand touched. She is mildly surprised by this and stepped back, watching in wonder as another another light sparks into existence, this time, it was teal green in color instead of gold, and instead of focusing on one spot, the teal green light spreads all across the statue's surface, crawling up to the figure above and culminates in the sphere it was holding. And from that sphere, a ball of teal colored light comes out, floating down to the ground.
Lumine looks at it in wonder, realizing that it was floating towards her specifically instead of just descending to the ground.
Inwardly bracing herself, the ball of light fly straight towards her chest where it instantly got absorbed by her body. She gasped due to the strange sensation, that divine energy she feels emanating from the statue is now surrounding her, inside her. What is going on?
"Oooh! Did you just feel the elements of the world?" Paimon asked in wonder and curiosity as she floats near her, looking at Lumine from head to toe, subtly noticing the slight changes in her outfit, specifically, how certain parts of her dress that wasn't glowing before is now glowing with the same color of what the statue released seconds ago.
"I feel like..." Lumine muttered, looking down at her hands, closing her eyes and clenching her palms into fists. "...I feel my body is a bit lighter."
Paimon oohed in wonder as Lumine turned to ask another person around.
"Other me, what is this?" Traveler Lumine asked her counterpart curiously.
"This is how the Aether of my world got his powers, it's what I heard from the stories surrounding him."
Abyss Lumine explained, recalling the memories of when a certain Pyro Abyss Lector came to her occasionally with several reports regarding her brother's progress in his journey, from the beginning to the end.
"Just like that fairy said, these statues are built to establish an Archon's rule over their territory, it was imbued by their divine powers." The spirit hummed in thought, thinking over what to say next. "I don't know the exact details on how it works, but since we are not from this world, we are somehow able to resonate directly with the elements of the gods. It's like we're stealing their divine energy for our own use."
"Stealing their energy... That's not good." Traveler Lumine mumbles silently.
"Just deal with it." Abyss Lumine replied with a roll of her eyes. "This will be the strength we need in order to proceed with our journey. And Aether is capable of controlling all the seven elements with ease back in my world too, meaning that he must've touched the statues of the other six gods." She hmph'ed, a motion akin to crossing her arms. "That'll be our objective, you have to resonate with all the seven elements in order to become strong, and for now, you only have Anemo for a start."
Traveler Lumine nods in understandment. So because of her being an "anomaly" she could break even the most common law on this world. Interesting, perhaps even destiny could be broken by her hands alone.
"I see... Another reason for why we must travel to each nation then." Traveler Lumine smiled, gripping her hand on the outside world as a good feeling rises up. "Gotta say, it feels great for having some powers inside me again."
"I don't." Abyss Lumine blatantly spat out. "Makes me wanna puke for having even a small part of those insects inside "my" body. But then again... It's not like I can refuse, am I?"
"Just deal with it." Traveler Lumine smirked when she heard Abyss Lumine scoffed upon being retorted by her own comeback.
"I feel like there's a strange power entering my body." Lumine spoke up after a while, putting one hand on her chest. "It feels alien at first... but now, it feels like it has always been a part of me somehow."
Just to test it out, Lumine raised her right hand, with her index and middle finger up, she willed for the powers she just received to manifest, for the winds to heed her call. And it did.
It didn't take two seconds for gust of winds to gather around her right hand, swirling on her fingers and creates breezes that brushes against her face and sways her hair.
"Whoa! That's the power of Anemo you're holding! How did you do that?" Paimon exclaimed in surprise upon seeing the display of power, it might've been her first time too.
"...I don't know how to explain." Lumine shakes her head after a moment of pause. Her golden eyes look at the power swirling on her hand in confusion and wonder. "I just will wind to appear, and it does."
"So you mean it's like a completely natural ability to you?"
"Yeah, that sounds like it." Lumine hummed in thought. "It feels like I've always been born with this ability, how strange..."
"Heh, seems all you had to do was just touch the statue and you got the power. Too bad that as much as they may want it, people in this world can never get a hold of powers as easily as you."
Paimon said with a small smile adorning her face.
Mentally, Lumine willed the wind in her hand to disappear, and they does.
"I would like to see how far I can go with these new powers of mine." Lumine stated, she looks around as if looking for something. "But I need to test it out on something... Maybe a training dummy of sort."
"Hmm..." Paimon hummed in thought along for a while, until she spotted something in the corner of her eyes. "Ah, Paimon knows! Why don't you try it out on the slimes?" The fairy suggested, gaining a raised eyebrow from Lumine.
"Slimes?" The blonde girl repeated.
"Yep, they are elemental lifeforms scattered all over the land." Paimon explained, she pointed her finger in a direction, following it, Lumine saw what she was pointing at. "Testing out your newfound powers on them shouldn't be a problem at all. Everybody sees them as nothing but pests after all."
"Alright, I'll go try it out then." Lumine nodded before walking towards the direction the fairy is pointing.
There's a small pond of water nearby, and bouncing around that pond are several creatures with round bodies that have no other features except for a pair of white eyes and horns on their heads. They are blue color, continuously dripping with water and wetting everything around them. It feels kind of wrong to use them as test subjects, especially when they possess such cute appearance, but Lumine steeled her resolve.
"Don't worry so much about it." The voice of Abyss Lumine spoke up inside her head, sounding utterly annoyed that Traveler Lumine could feel her shaking her head and narrowing her eyes. "These slimes were elemental lifeforms that were created by a strong presence of Elemental Energy that are focused in one place. So long as the seven elements exist, so were they."
"So they just keep spawning then?" Traveler Lumine asked.
"Naturally. That's why people saw them as pests." Abyss Lumine replied.
The slimes noticed her approaching, they jerked in surprise, but their surprises were quickly replaced by their instinct to attack and defend themselves, they bounced their way towards her.
Lumine silently gulped the lump in her throat, preparing herself yet mentally is still unsure of how this gonna work.
"Just try to do the same thing as before. But this time, try to put your imagination into it." Abyss Lumine instructed, gaining a raised eyebrow from her living self.
"Imagination?" Traveler Lumine asked confusedly.
"Using your will alone is not enough to bring out the full power of the elements. Imaginations, body movements, and your mental powers are also at play here. Only by combining those three aspects that you can fully be control this power." Abyss Lumine explained.
"Uh... I don't understand..."
There's a groan coming out from the back of her head, clearly coming from an extremely annoyed person. "Your will would be the one that manifest the elemental powers into reality, your imaginations would be the one to shape it, and your body movements is the catalyst that makes it possible. You understand?" Abyss Lumine asked after explaining once more in a little more detail.
"Not at all, not fully at least. But basically, all I had to do is doing exactly what I imagined in my mind, right?" Traveler Lumine asked back, receiving only to receive the sound of someone face palming themself.
"Whatever..."
Back to the situation at hand. Lumine braced herself for the incoming slimes. She carefully thought over the words her counterpart explained to her, and give it a try.
First, she will for the wind to appear, next, she imagined for the wind to blow out her enemies into the distance, and lastly, she reached out a hand towards the slimes.
"Wind!"
A gust of Anemo energy appears and gathered in her palm. It swirls into the base of her open hand within a split second, and by the time Lumine blink her eye, a burst of violent wind came out of her palm and blow out the slimes, launching them away several distance from her.
"Wow! Amazing!" She hears the voice of Paimon cheering up behind her.
Lumine looks at her palm in slight amazement, some traces of Anemo energy remains there, swirling around her hand for a while before they slowly dissipates.
"Huh, that's easier than I thought it would be." The blonde girl muttered softly, looking up, she saw the slimes are still alive, looking up at her with their eyes that may look like they're shocked.
"Pretty good, for a beginner." Abyss Lumine remarked with a scoff, sounding not at all impressed despite of what she's saying. "Why not try it again, with a different technique this time?"
"Hmm..." A different technique she say? Lumine went to thought over it. "If I can blow my enemies with the wind... Then I should be able to suck them too."
Surely such things is possible by changing the trajectory of the wind, instead of releasing it into a burst of violent gaze, perhaps she could make them gathered into her palm, just like how she willed the wind to appear in the first place, but this time, it would be a lot violent and focused.
She reached out her right hand once more, willing for the wind to gather on her palm. It does what she willed it to, the wind flows right into her open hand, a little slower than before but the volume of which are increased tremendously, turning her palm into a vacuum cleaner that sucks the air of her surroundings. The grass violently swayed around her, dirt, stone, and gravel get sucked into the small vortex of air she created, and the slimes aren't spared by the fate. The air suction pulled on their small wiggly bodies, without the chance for retaliating they are absorbed into the palm of her hand, their wet bodies made out of water slowly crumbling apart by the violent wind, water swirls with the wind, dyeing the Anemo energy blue.
Lumine wonders if she could combine this suction with the blowing technique from earlier.
"Hah!" Lumine release her hold on the vortex of wind, by reversing the trajectory of the wind from flowing into her palm to flowing out, and she did that instantly.
The results of it is a much more powerful and violent gust of wind bursting out of her palm, releasing all the energy that had been gathered by the vortex of wind and converting it into this. The slimes and everything else are blown away, utterly destroyed as their bodies burst into water, dead.
"I didn't know it could be that powerful." Lumine muttered, eyes wide open flabbergasted, behind her, she could heard Paimon having a similar reaction.
"The more reason for you to train I suppose." Abyss Lumine muttered. "You haven't known the full grasp of powers just yet. In order for you to master it, you must know the full scale of how powerful this power can be, as well as its weakness, advantages, and limits."
"you're right. I'll be sure to learn more during this journey." Traveler Lumine agrees with a nod.
"So that's the Anemo powers you got from the Statue of The Seven." Lumine turned around to see Paimon slowly float towards her. "Aww... Paimon's so jealous. Why doesn't Paimon get cool fighting powers!" The fairy whined.
"Keep dreaming little one."
"Don't worry about it, Paimon. I don't need for you to be strong in order to help me." Ignoring the blatant insult coming from her other self, Lumine smiled lightly at her companion for comfort. You've agreed to become my guiding star, and that already helps me a lot. I'm counting on you to be my guide till the end of this journey."
Her deceased self said that it was this fairy who stayed by Aether's side throughout his journey, the one who guides him through the vast world of Tevyat. Who laughs with him in his joy, who comforts him in his sorrow, who protected him (or at least trying to) when he's in danger, and even becomes his beacon of hope and determination at times. If Lumine truly is supposed to take on the role of her brother from another world... then she will make sure things will remain unchanged for this one, for the sake of reuniting the twins together.
"Well, when you say it like that... Hehe~ Paimon will try her best to be your guide." The little fairy said as her lips turned into a smile, causing Lumine's own smile to widen slightly.
Unfortunately, their relaxing moments are interrupted when a huge shadow suddenly looms over them. It wasn't the shadow of a cloud since it was much darker in contrast, meaning that it was rather close to the ground they're standing on. A strong breeze of wind washed over them as the shadow moved rather quickly, using one hand to cover her eyes, Lumine look up to see a huge figure flying above them. A creature with a long huge body colored in a shade of blue with some areas being lighter Azure blue. It has six wings with two large ones on the front row and a smaller ones in the middle and back row. What a facinating thing to see.
"Wow! What is that?! There's something huge, in the sky!" Paimon loudly exclaimed, her mouth went agape as she stares at the flying gigantic figure who slowly descent into the ground and eventually dissapears out of sight behind the cliffs.
"Is that... A dragon?" Lumine is pretty much having the same reaction as Paimon, her eyes wide and her lips parted slightly.
"The Dragon of The East, Stormterror... Heh, never thought I would miss seeing that overgrown bird."
Lumine heard her spirit self muttered out something, and went silent to mentaly asked her.
"Storm... what?"
"Stormterror, that's he's called, not his real name though." Abyss Lumine replied, shrugging as she does so. "He is one of the four winds, a group of guardians entrusted to protect Mondstadt by the Anemo Archon roughly about a thousand years ago from today. Though as of currently... I don't think a "guardian" is the right word to refer him."
"What do you mean?" Traveler Lumine asked in a mix of confusion and curiosity.
"Well, you'll see it soon enough." Abyss Lumine simply replied, gaining a narrowed eyes from her living self, making her chuckle a little. "It won't be long before you find out. If I remember correctly, this is the point in time when the world famous "Traveler" made his first grand apperance. The start point of his ever growing reputation. You know what that means?" The deceased spirit of the Abyss Princess asked back, causing Traveler Lumine to fell silent.
"Yeah..." The living Lumine nodded, now understanding the meaning of her dead counterpart's words.
"It looks like it just landed in that forest. Let's go see it Paimon." Lumine said after a while of silence, her eyes glanced to the woods not too far away from her current position.
"Eh?" Paimon seemed surprised by her decision, looking at her with widened eyes before agreeing with her eventually. "O-Okay, just remember to proceed with caution." The fairy warned to which the blonde girl nods her head in understandment.
There's a dirt path on the ground that leads into the forest, and by trailing on the path, the pair of travelers stepped the woods, silently walking while observing their surroundings cautiously in search for the dragon they saw just now, while also taking out some slimes that blocks their paths along the way.
And while they continued trekking down the path silently, Lumine had another conversation inside her mind.
"So... About this dragon, you said that he was one of the four appointed guardians that protects Mondstadt. Does that mean he and the Wind God are connected?" Traveler Lumine asked in curiosity, knowing that her journey is all about searching for The Seven, perhaps she should know some things about them first, especially now that she has someone who clearly knows about them well enough inside her.
"Yep, they are." Abyss Lumine said, nodding her head. "The two of them were friends, having a master servant relationship, or that of a master and their pet."
"A god befriending a dragon... Doesn't sound too extraordinary to me." Traveler Lumine muttered, scratching her chin with one hand.
"Well, you're not wrong about that one. Some of the other gods seem to follow this trend as well."
"So each have their own dragons then?" Traveler Lumine asked, receiving a hum from the other Lumine as an answer. "Neat, I can't wait to see them."
"Sure... But for now, let's just focus on finding the Anemo God first." Abyss Lumine stated, with Traveler Lumine nodded, probably knowing her counterpart's intention to avoid further questioning.
"Hmm... Speaking of gods... Why don't you tell me something about the Anemo Archon?" Traveler Lumine asked again, gaining a somewhat annoyed exhale from the back of her mind.
"What do you want to know?" Abyss Lumine asked back, giving her living self a narrowed look, but not like the Traveler could see it. "If there is something I have to say about him, it's definitely not a good thing."
"Anything will do, at least tell me something." Traveler Lumine offered.
"Hmph, well... The Anemo Archon is a god that rules over Mondstadt, and he embraced the idea of freedom in all forms."
"Freedom?"
"Yes. He thinks that in the idea that humanity as a whole should have their own free will, free to do anything that they wanted in life, free to express everything they have in mind, and free from the shackles of oppressing powers that mortals or gods may have upon them. And that's the reason why he chose to not rule the nation directly too." Abyss Lumine explained.
"Wait... You're saying that despite being a god, he refused to rule the nation given to him?" Traveler Lumine asked in confusion and surprise.
"Yes, he feared that his direct involvement would lead to him becoming the very thing he sought to destroy in the past. Can't say I agree with him, knowing the many troubles this decision has caused." The deceased spirit muttered, sounding a little displeased by her own story.
"Hmm... Interesting. I wonder when I'll be meeting him..." Traveler Lumine mumbled silently.
"Traveler, look!"
Paimon's voice brings Lumine back to reality. She looks at the fairy pointing at something in front of them, and Lumine looks forward to see the giant figure she saw flying in the sky not far away from them, hidden behind the mask of some trees.
Lumine sends a nod to Paimon, a gesture to follow her, and the two slowly approaches the scene where the dragon is now resting on the ground. Finding a particularly large tree with a big enough frame to hide her body, Lumine presses her back against the tree trunk, before slowly poking her head out to see, and what she sees, surprised her.
There was another figure at the scene aside from the dragon. It was a human, a human boy that looks just about her age and height, dressed in green and white outfit, the boy is standing before the dragon's face, with his hands reaching out to the beast.
"... Don't be afraid." The boy in green softly whispered to the dragon, slowly approaching it and close enough for his palm to touch it's beak. "... It's alright now, I'm back."
"Is he talking... to a dragon?" Paimon silently questioned. It seems so, but who is this mysterious person?
"Well, speak of the devil... Looks like you just got your answer, "Me"" Abyss Lumine suddenly spoke up, slightly startling Lumine as she was busy on observing the scene before her.
"What are you talking about?" Traveler Lumine asked in confusion.
"That's the god we're looking for." Abyss lumine answered, referring to the mysterious boy.
"Wait... That's the Anemo Archon?!" Traveler Lumine exclaimed in shock.
"In the flesh, I'm surprised we got to see him so soon as well. May as well use this opportunity to go talk to him." The spirit suggested.
Lumine think about her other self's suggestion, and contemplates on doing it. Ultimately, she decided to give it a try, stepping one foot forward-
"Oh!" The moment she took a step, Lumine felt like a pulse of energy suddenly came out of her chest, making her gasp lightly in surprise.
That small mistake ended up ruining everything, as the dragon suddenly roars out loud without warning, startling even the boy (god) before him. And then attempted to attack him by swinging one of his claws, but the god managed to jump away in a split second.
"Who's there?!" The God looks in her direction, finding nobody there and a big tree in place.
As the dragon roars again in rage, the boy in green stepped back, Anemo energy encircles him, and in a second, his form completely vanishes into thin air, leaving no one to stand there on his spot anymore.
The dragon spreads out his wings and soon takes off from the ground, flying up high into the sky, leaving behind the two travelers there, confused and shocked.
"That was close! Paimon almost got blown away!" Paimon said, releasing a big sigh of relief.
The same relief should've been felt by Lumine as well, for managing to hide herself from the view of both the dragon and that God, but her sense of relief is overwhelmed by the feeling of pain coming from a certain fairy who has been holding onto her hair the entire time.
"All thanks to me, now could you let go of my hair please?" Lumine sends the fairy an annoyed look.
"Oh! Whoops, Paimon's sorry!" Paimon apologized and immediately let go of the golden strands that she has been clinging to for her life, almost pulling it out.
"Ugh." Lumine groaned, not just from pain, but from the wasted opportunity that she unintentionally just ruined.
"Cheer up, it's not like this is the last time you'll see of him."
"I know... It's just... Nevermind."
"I'll be sure to check on your mind later." Abyss Lumine stated, gaining another groan from Lumine. "Anyway, I think you should check over there, it looks like Stormterror just dropped something."
"What's that? It's glowing." Lumine asked as she looked at the big rock where the dragon perched just now.
"Yeah, what is that shiny red thing?" Paimon asked a similar question, squinting her eyes as she looks at it. "Let's take a closer look."
Lumine nodded and followed her companion as they climbed the big rock and stood before the glowing object. It was solid in form, looking like a rock or a gem of sorts, ominously glowing a deep crimson color and also reeking a dark aura that made Lumine feeling unsettled by just standing near it.
"Paimon's never seen a stone like this before, so Paimon can't tell what it is." Paimon muttered as she took a closer look at the strange stone on the ground, her eyes narrowed slightly. "All Paimon knows is that it's dangerous. Best we put it away from now."
Lumine picks it up and stares at it for a few seconds, looking closely at it's shape and color, it oddly resembles a water drop, but she can't be so sure.
"Any idea, other me?" Traveler Lumine turned to ask her deceased self.
"I don't know what that is." Abyss Lumine simply answered, before continuing. "But what I do know is that it contains Abyssal Energy."
"Abyssal Energy?" Traveler Lumine narrowed her eyes, if it really does contain that kind of energy, then...
"Hmm... But I could sense some Anemo energy inside too... So it's probably a case of corrupted elements." Abyss Lumine continued before pausing for a while. "You should keep it, it might've been useful."
Although she's curious and wanted to ask more, Lumine agrees, grabbing the glowing crystal, she stores it inside her inventory.
"You're keeping it?" Paimon asked, tilting her head to the side.
"Yeah, I don't know, but it might be useful for us in the future." Lumine answered, brushing her hands against each other, she stood up from the ground. "Shall we get going now?"
"Yeah, the city Mondstadt is not too far away, let's go!"
Lumine nods at that. Armed with a newfound power, her flying companion, and a dead spirit of herself from another world, she sets off to go to the first destination of her very long journey.
To be Continued...
I genuinely forgot about this story's existence, until someone reminds me of it lol.
I think I'm gonna work on this for a while, just to try reigniting my writing spirit after I'm feeling down from all the business I've been through. Might as well get some inspiration for the other fics.
