This morning the containment unit looked worse. It had frost all over and the walls around it cracked but the light was still green.
Luz and her family were called to the Paranormal Research Center to look at the orb, the guy with the "HOPKINS" name tag had his hand frozen over last night by the orb and had to wear an arm sling.
He showed off that the orb seemed to command other ghosts, Gus was recording all of it and Luz was interested to say the least but no one noticed the containment for The Possessor broke and that the ghost was now hiding out in Gus' Boom Mic.
Willow, Hunter, and Hopkins went to the guy who sold them the brass orb his name was Steve or something like that but Luz and Gus went to Lillth's Occult Store.
Luz and Lillth were talking about how ghosts manifested in this world until they heard weird sounds and saw that Gus was looking over his footage.
"I think my footage is broken, this wasn't happening while I was recording" Gus explained.
"Sounds like some weird ancient verbiage," Lilith said.
"Yeah but what language?" Luz asked, "A dead one," Lillth replied.
"Should we investigate?" Gus asked
"We could" Luz replied
"Aren't you benched?" Lilith asked, "Aren't you retired?" Luz said in a passive aggressive tone.
King appeared behind the desk, "Are you gonna take that from her?" He asked Lillth.
And just like that Lilith, Luz, Gus, and King all hopped in the Ecto-C and drove to the public library.
Luz and the others were now talking to one of the people working at library, Flora D'splora an odd name to say the least but before they came in the library administrator tried to tell Lilith that she wasn't allowed in but she just walked right past him.
"This language has been dead for thousands of years. How did you get this recording?" Flora asked in a surprised tone.
"Well that sound you heard came from this mysterious object," Lilith said as she pulled up a picture on her phone with the orb
Flora then got up and then told them to come with her to the library, this wasn't just the ordinary library, this was the old one, it was in the basement. It looked well kept no dirt or dust.
Flora then picked up a big red book and flipped through it. And showed them the orb's last recorded sighting in stone. "That orb is a magical prison for a phantom god called Garraka," Flora said in a serious tone.
"4,000 years ago Garraka served a bloodthirsty king named Grimhammer…" Flora voice trailed off as Luz went to go look at the other books in the old library
There were books about Famous people in the 40's and ancient fashion, but one interested Luz the most and that was "Newspaper Clippings from 1980-2000."
Luz began flipping through the pages of the book finding news about her father saving New York from a marshmallow giant and then some about slime and the statue of liberty moving, weird stuff to say the least but I guess that was Ghostbusting in the 80's for you.
Luz was about to close the book until her eye caught something familiar, It was Amity! An old picture of her when she was alive she looked almost the same but that wasn't what shocked Luz the most.
It was the headline above the photo of Amity, "Tragedy at Blight Manor" Luz needing to learn more read the newspaper clipping.
"15 year old Amity Blight was tragically lost in an arson fire caused by her mother Odalia Merick, the Ex Wife of Alador Blight. Alador had divorced Odalia the previous week for her actions around their children Emira and Edric Blight, and in a fit of rage set fire to the manor hoping to kill her Ex. Odalia is now being held for trial as the family mourns their lost daughter."
Luz's heart dropped, she couldn't believe that the person who was responsible for Amity being a ghost was her own mother. Now she knew why Amity didn't talk about her mother that much; she was a monster.
"Luz you okay?" King asked, Luz quickly put back the book, "Yep everything is all good" Luz said holding back tears
"Okay but if you need a hug I'm right here" King said
"Thanks King" Luz said as she picked up King and went back with Lilith, Gus, and Flora who were listening to something on a phonograph.
"For the first time in New York history a room full of people froze to death in the middle of July," Flora said
Gus was listening to the phonograph when all the sudden a red light flew into the phonograph and the recording began playing faster and faster. The wax cylinder flew off the phonograph and into a trash bin.
The trash bag then got out of the trash bin like it was alive!
"It's The Possessor! he has the recording, stop him!" Lilith yelled as the now animated trash bag ran up the steps.
Luz and the others began chasing The Possessor if he played the recording he could unleash Garraka and freeze the world. They chased the trash bag as it caused chaos as it ran past people in the library, knocking over lamps and books along the way.
They followed The Possessor outside but the trash bag was nowhere to be seen. Luz, Gus, and King began checking the trash bags but none of them budged.
"Now it'll be impossible to find!" Lilith yelled
"Oh there it is" Flora pointed at one of the lion statue that now had a trash bag on it's paw and the wax cylinder laying in front of it
Flora helped Lilith up to the statue to get the cylinder but then the statue moved a little. Lilith looked up and then the statue roared at her, knocking Lilith and Flora down.
"Push the button on the Ecto!" Lilith yelled as the lion statue began approaching her and Flora
Luz and Gus began frantically pushing buttons and then the Ecto-C began to reveal a Neutrona Wand, Luz picked it up and blasted at the statue, cutting off its tail and directing it's attention to Luz
The Blaster then stopped working for some reason as the statue began approaching Luz ready to pounce.
"Power it up!" Luz yelled to Gus as NYPD began to surround the Library
Gus immediately pushed a button as the Lion Statue jumped at Luz but luckily the blaster got power and destroyed the Lion Statue before it could attack.
Unfortunately the wax cylinder broke and pieces of the statue landed on police cars, Luz knew she was in big trouble now.
