Sydney Australia, Earth
Scene opens in a meeting with several dozen UNSC admiralty in a meeting. They are all watching a recording of High Charity destroying what remains of the UNSC battlegroup that went to claim Halo.
Several asks how long till the Covenant reaches Earth. Or the status of Akerson's Spartan 3s. The new head of ONI Serin Osman replies that to the former, several months at least. In the latter, she mentions that a majority of the Spartan 3s died, with the remaining Spartan 3s and Spartan 2s being recalled from all fronts to be merged together.
Fleet Admiral Terrance Hood then asks what happens to the Master Chief. Several individuals mention that Master Chief had been court-marshaled after going AWOL. Hood believes that he's still alive on the Halo. The rest have cut their losses and are planning on measures to protect Earth.
OPENING CREDITS
On Onyx, Miranda Keyes has been doing simulation after simulation to cure her mother Halsey. Outside of her lab, she is being watched by the Flood Infected. Some are still human in appearance; others have become more drastically mutated complete with tentacles sprouting from arms and mouth. For the last several hours she has run twenty simulations to cure her mother, all have failed. Another simulation runs showing rate of infection and she is horrified.
Gunfire erupts outside and she sees several Infected drop dead. She looks up and sees Soren, Kwan and Akerson come in to rescue her. She asks them to help activate the Cryotubes anti-gravity field to help move the cryotube with her. She also mentions that they need to lock down the communications array and destroy whatever ships that are still on the planet.
She shows the simulation she ran and says that they need to activate HYDRA PROTOCOL Level 5.
Kwan asks what that means.
Soren and Akerson explain that HYDRA PROTOCOL is a threat level designating a biological threat to the UNSC. Levels 1 through 3 is a small population or city. Level 4 is a continent. Level 5, which has never been used is for an entire planet!
Miranda warns them that at the rate the Flood, which Kwan calls it now after explaining that the Forerunner tech calls to her, that it will soon spread and they need to warn the UNSC to stay away. After arguing about leaving Halsey behind, they reluctantly decide to take her with them
They travel down corridors and they see one of the infected begging for help. It turns to them and a bubble appears on their neck. It approaches them more and the bubble increases in size till it spreads down her neck and onto her back, becoming bigger. Ackerson in his panic shoots the infected, making it explode and spreading Infection Forms. Some are slug-like, others more identifiable to their game counterparts.
The others continue to shoot the Infection Forms. More of the carrier forms appear and they run. All of them with their arms out, begging for help.
Miranda locks down the building as they flee and head to the communications array to start a broadcast. Unknown to her, the Infected Parangosky looks at the console and presses a few buttons, activating the doors and letting them out.

HALO
Ten Minutes after Slipspace
On the ring on the crashed Pillar of Autumn, Whitcomb and Silva recover and make an inventory of supplies, ships, ammo, weapons and personnel. He orders Silva to gather as many troops as he can and seek out the other survivors. He then orders others to try and hail any UNSC Communication Beacon to try and call for help. Technicians reply that they can't reach anything. Their communications are cut off.
CUT TO
In one of the crash sites, Talia Perez recovers on one of the crashed Pelicans as a bunch of UNSC marines salvage weapons and parts from the downed Pelican, led by Sergeant Avery J. Johnson. They hear a commotion nearby and ready weapons where a deer-like creature appears before vanishing. One of the marines gets shot in the head by a Jackal Sniper. Jackals come out and a firefight starts. Marines hold their ground, Sergent Johnson does bad-ass fight and shoots and smokes at the same time. That is when Covenant Drones fly out and start picking off marines one by one. Some lift them up and drop them to their deaths, others tear them apart. Even several of them fly by and go into the Pelican and Perez fights them off, dual wielding pistols. She runs out of bullets just as the last one comes right at her.
That is when Master Chief arrives. He shoots the Drone. He checks on Perez, glad that both survived.
Master Chief joins in the fight, inspiring the troops and the fight continues. He clears out the Jackals and escorts all surviving marines to crash-site. They jump into a warthog and in a convoy that's a mix of warthogs, mongooses, and scorpion tanks, they are off.
CUT TO
Deep inside of the Halo, Makee explores. She encounters the monitor, which identifies it as 343 Guilty Spark. She introduces itself as Makee Reclaimer and wishes to initiate the Great Journey and salvation. Guilty Spark says that while she is a Reclaimer, she has a limited understanding of what she means. He states there is another Reclaimer and needs to investigate further, leaving her. Not long after, she meets up with a covenant group composed of Grunts. She introduces herself as the Blessed One and orders them to take her to their commander.
CUT TO
Covenant Ship Truth and Reconciliation
Prophets Stewardship and Clarity are meeting with a Grunt in charge of communications. The grunt states that they can't get a communication out and believes that the UNSC can't also. They get a message that the Blessed One has been found. Stewardship orders them to bring her to them.
Makee meets with the Prophets, stating that she has led them here so they can begin the Great Journey. Stewardship slaps her, sending her to the ground. He looks down at her with contempt. He states that the only reason they don't kill her for her heresy is because they led them to the Halo.
Makee is thrown in a prison directly across from Kai.
Sometime later, Clarity accompanied by eight Hunters goes to Kai's cell introduces himself in perfect English and asks her to take a walk with him.

UNSC ONI Sydney
Serin Osman is going over the roster of all Spartan 2s and 3s.

She opens a commination to her AI Black-Box. Black-Box appears and gives her an update on Project EXODUS. All is on schedule and the first of the two supercarriers will be up and running. Displays a holographic of the newly christened, UNSC INFINITY.
She smiles and proceeds to make another roster of potential crew.
