A/N Cats and Cardinals
Alt title: DRAMA!
.
.
Clumsyreader: Ruby is 10/10
Attttth: The lore sections aren't required to understand, if something isn't explained in the main story, it'll likely be explained in the main story at a later date.
Rex-Mortuorum: Yang and her sister teasing Ruby? Um, Yang, doesn't have another sister. If you're referring to the call Ruby got in the middle of lunch, that was Yang calling her back.
Anyumaaka: I love writing the lore segments, hell, most of them are written on the spot.
Aaron Dawn: CHAPACHANGAS FOR EVERYONE!
GideonBlackthorn: If the last one was too sweet, then consider this one a pallet cleanser.
The dancing leaf: You left your review, right before the final proofread. My channel in the discord, newb's-grotto, has people going off on possible ways to mix and match the words of power. Mostly in ways that would kill Salem though. Weird.

"Do you have anything to say for yourself?" Glynda asks at the end of her rant, now standing in front of Ozpin's desk.
"You said his arm got dislocated when he hit the floor?" I ask as I lean forward, clasping my hands in contemplation.
"That is correct." She says as she crosses her arms. "It was set back into place with little issue but that's besides the point."
"Shame it wasn't broken." I say regretfully as I sit up straight.
That, is exactly the worst thing to say to that. Seeing as her face becomes pink in anger while she looks like she just chewed on a sour warhead.
Before she closes her eyes and takes a breath. Holds her hands up, and drops her riding crop on Ozpin's desk.
"I'm going to calm down." She says as she walks towards the door.
The soft click of her heels is the only thing heard as she leaves. Before the clicking of buttons, and finally the elevator opening and closing.
"Is she always like that?" I ask the wizard in front of me as he takes a sip of his coffee.
"Hmm, unfortunately." He hums. "She has a bit of an Arc complex. I've tried to stem it some but, nothing works. Did you know she has over three months of paid vacation days that she hasn't touched?"
'What kind of workaholic self sacrificial masochistic bullshit is that!?' I think to myself in pure astonishment. 'What, does she use that riding crop to beat herself into working more?'
"What's an Arc complex?" I ask.
"Basically she believes herself to be responsible for everything." He explains.
'So, their name for a superman complex.' I think dryly.
"There's more nuance to it but, that's for a later time." Ozpin says as he sets his mug to the side. "For now, perhaps I can get your side of the story. What happened?"
And here I thought he'd try to get into my good graces. Instead he's doing his job.
"Does the cafeteria not have cameras?" I ask as I lean back in my chair.
"It does." He nods. "However, they are primarily in the kitchen and at the doors. The only bits that were caught, were you confronting young mister Winchester, the part where you were on the table, and the bit where you nearly put him through a wall."
So, the fun bits.
"Well, the cry baby was being racist." I shrug. "So, I shut him up."
"And, do you have anyone to corroborate that story?" He asks.
"Well, my partner, and anyone who was around to hear." I shrug. "Just check the cameras and pick out who was close by I guess."
"That will take some time." Ozpin says. "Perhaps we can get your partner up here to confirm things first."
"I'd rather you not." I admit. "We had a good day in Vale, and I don't want it ruined for her if I don't have to."
He takes a second to think on that. Closing his eyes as he nods to himself.
"As, noble as that is." He says. "However, understand that, Councilor Winchester has a lot of weight to throw around. And, should this drag out and-"
"Become a game of attrition? Good." I cut him off. "I've got little to loose. I want him to waste his time. He's got nothing to throw at me, and nothing to gain."
Oz looks to me with that same, unreadable expression as always. Before reaching over and grabbing his mug to take another sip.
"Hmm." He says with a furrowed brow.
"What?" I ask.
"It's empty." He says as he sets the mug back down.
…
This guy is fucking with me. He has to be.

Ruby Rose POV
.
Humming a tune to myself as I place the Grimm plushy on my bed. I can't keep myself from squealing in excitement as I plop down on the covers. Kicking my legs and screaming into my pillow.
"Are, you okay?" Weiss asks.
Looking up to the Atlesian girl with a red nose. I smirk as I sit up on my bed.
"Oh, just had a fun date is all." I say as I place my head in my hands.
"A, date?" Weiss questions in confusion. "I thought you were taking Cyril clothes shopping?"
"I did." I say coyly as I hold my head up.
"Then when did you, no!" Weiss says as her eyes widen in realization. "But you, how-"
I cross my arms across my chest in triumph as Weiss stammers. Sure, she and Cyril might get together in the future, but I got the first strike! And everyone knows the first strike sets the tone. So ha!
Score one, for Ruby.
Blake, I don't see her with anyone. She has problems. Or hopefully she's just cranky and will get over herself soon. Cyril did, kinda.
"Yep!" I say confidently as I prepare to regale her with the details of my date with my partner. "Pretty soon you'll see-"
"I don't believe you." Weiss cuts me off suddenly.
"What?" I say as my eyes snap open to the girl.
"I don't believe you." She says again.
"Wha-haba, why not!?" I demand to know.
"You have no proof." Weiss says poshly. "Until I see invariable and indisputable proof of your claim, I'll not consider it valid."
"Invari, inva, don't use words I don't understand!" I say, frustrated with her, Weissy-ness.
"I need, solid evidence." Weiss says.
I grab the Grimm plush behind me and hold it up for her to see.
"See!" I say. "He won this for me at an arcade! Proof!"
"I see a stuffed toy for children." Weiss says haughtily as she crosses her arms. "This proves nothing."
"But it, it's the, we went and, he called me cute!" I try to explain as I feel my face burn. "He likes my ears and everything!"
"Good to note for later." She mutters under her breath before looking back to me. "Okay! Answer me this. Did you kiss?"
"K-k-kiss!?" I stutter out, the image of me and Cyril kissing playing in my head. "W-we've only, it's just, not, we, that's a second date thing!"
Who kisses on a first date!? That's, like, step three! Not step one! Maybe?
"That answers that." Weiss says with a sigh. "Did you hold hands?"
"N-no." I admit.
Though, I wanted to.
"Did you at least hug?" Weiss challenges.
" Noo." I moan.
That would've been nice!
"See?" Weiss says smugly. "Not a date."
But, we agreed to go out again! That's, like, step two! I think. Or, step one?
What are the steps again? I remember Yang mentioning bases, but that's it.
"W-well, I, I uh, you just had to be there." I say, putting an end to the debate. "You can ask Cyril when he gets back from Ozpin's office."
'Stupid Weiss.' I say to myself. 'Talking like she's been on dates before.'
"What is he doing there?" Weiss asks as I lay down and hug the plush.
"I'm not sure." I shrug. "It could be anything from paperwork to what happened this morning."
Cyril is missing a lot of things. Like, official things. There are so many benefits and subsi- government assistance with money and supplies he can get that he just doesn't know exist. Like Beacon's student discount for example. He didn't know it was a thing!
He also sucks at math. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to embarrass him, but the waiter at the café we went to, had to come back while Cyril was in the bathroom and return part of the money he left. And it wasn't a small amount, almost an added fifth of the bill.
I'll just sneak it into his nightstand later.
"What happened this morning?" Weiss asks curiously.
"Oh, Cardin was messing with me and Cyril put him in a wall." I say with a wave. "No biggie."
It was so awesome too! Until it wasn't. We need to like, come up with a signal or something for his semblance.
Thinking back, this explains why he refused to use it before.
'Oh but the way he defended me! Like a knight defending his princess from the days of old!' I think to myself as I throw my face back into my pillow. ' And it's further proof he isn't racist. Suck it Blake!'
"You mean, Cardin Winchester?" Weiss asks as I hear her get closer to me.
"Yeah?" I say as I open my eyes and turn my head to look at her questioningly. "Is there, another Cardin I don't know about?"
Weiss sighs as she places a hand to her face. Shaking her head as she mutters something under her breath.
"The same Cardin who's father is on the council?" Weiss stresses.
"Yeah." I say, no less confused than before. "Why?"
"Ruby!" She groans into her hands as her ears splay back.
"What?!" I ask, sitting up to address my teammate. "What'd I do?!"
" Ruby!" Weiss stresses. "Cardin's dad is one of the people running the kingdom! You don't think he's going to be upset that his son was attacked?"
"But why would he be?" I ask with a tilt of my head. "Cyril was just defending me, and he's in a Hunter's academy."
"Do you think that's how Cardin is going to phrase it?" Weiss asks as she crosses her arms with a frown.
"But he'd have to be petty, to, oh, oh." I say as I realize what Weiss is saying.
Oh no!
"I gotta go talk to someone!" I say as I shoot up out of my bed.

Cyril Leon POV
.
Just, waiting on old man Winchester at this point. Ozpin is doing busywork on his computer as I think on words.
Ven, air. The movement of the second highest state of matter. Ven, refers to the air before you, its movement, it's an embodiment word. It's not meant to be used on its own. No, Thu'um, is a language. Few words are ever meant to be used as their own sentences. And the Thu'um is a language of context. Ven, is air. But in what way? Light as air? Free as air? Air itself? It is all dependent on what words it is used with, and in what way.
Yeah, that whole, using partial words to just get lesser effects thing in Skyrim? Would not work the way it does. Some words work that way. But most require additional words to the sentence, otherwise you're just spouting nonsense.
"Sooo." I drawl out, my mind spent from the meditation. "Reincarnation, what's that like?"
"Like going to sleep, and slowly waking up." Ozpin says sagely. "That's the best I can put it to words."
"No going to the afterlife and coming back?" I ask, genuinely curious as to what awaits.
"I will neither confirm nor deny the existence of an afterlife." Ozpin says with a sense of finality.
"Why not?" I ask. "Is it bad?"
He turns from his computer to face me, taking off his glasses as he does so to look me in the eye. His bright green ones boring into mine.
"Because, the last two times I have done so, inevitably led to five separate wars." He says seriously. "It took a long time to correct that mistake."
Huh, religious strife exists even on a deathworld. Suppose it's true, you'll never get everyone to agree to anything.
"Fair enough." I say with a casual shrug. "Suppose I'll just have to find out on my own one day."
"That you will." Ozpin says as he turns back to his computer. "Though I hope that day is far into the future."

Cyril Leon POV
.
How long is this guy gonna take!? It's almost been an hour.
"Is this some sort of political tactic?" I ask, now sitting sideways in the chair. My back to the arm as my legs hang over the other.
"Is what a political tactic?" Ozpin says as he pauses in the middle of typing on his computer.
"Making me wait so damn long." I clarify.
"Ah. Yes, it is." Ozpin says before going back to typing. "By making the other party wait, you send a message of importance and arrogance. Letting them know you believe yourself to be their superior, while aggravating them."
God I hate politics. If they're anything like on earth, well I suppose they'd have to be a little different. Priorities and all that.
Either way, this guy is making one, crucial mistake. I, don't care.
"What if I were to just, leave?" I ask.
"I wouldn't stop you." Ozpin says. "But, I'd advise against it."
Just as he says that, I hear the doors open with a hiss.
"Ozpin." I hear a deep voice. "Where is the boy that assaulted my son?"
"Yo!" I raise my hand without looking back.
"Mr. Leon!" I hear Goodwitch's lovely voice. "It would behoove you to sit properly!"
"Who says behoove anymore?" I whisper to myself as I sit up.
I hear, and feel the man walking forward. His stride being, rather heavy footed.
"Let me see this boy." The man says as he comes around to stand in front of me.
Let me tell you, aside from the hair and nose. Spitting image. I expected a fatass with a receding hairline. Instead, turns out the Ginger Dwayne Johnson's old man, is Viking Dwayne Johnson. Long blonde hair tied back in a colonial knot and a goatee on his chin. Blockier nose though, and age lines on his face.
"S'up?" I say as he scans me up and down, before stopping as we lock eyes.
"It would seem, we have much to discuss." He says in a calmer tone as he moves to sit in the other chair across from Ozpin's desk.
That was unexpected.
"Quite so." Oz says. "As it stands, we have two sides to this. Young Cyril here has claimed that-"
Before it's cut off by the doors to the office opening again.
"WINCHESTER YOU ROIDED OUT SACK OF SHIT!" I hear the voice of the combat teacher.
I swear I heard Ozpin mutter just in time under his breath as Taiyang marches up to us.
"Mr. Xioa Long!" Glynda starts reprimanding as Tai makes his way.
"Dock my pay later." Tai brushes her off as he looks to Winchester. "I'm taking an hour of personal time deal with this."
"Mr. Xiao Long." Councilor Winchester says, seeming more annoyed than threatened at the veteran hunter's appearance. "In case you're unaware, I am in a meeting concerning my son and his time at this academy."
"Yeah, and I'm here as an offended party." Tai says as he crosses his arms.
Sounds like people talked, and Tai heard what Cardin did.
'Wait I just realized I'm dating the teacher's daughter.' I think to myself as I watch the tanned man go at it with the viking in a business suit. 'Shit.'
"I fail to see how this effects you outside of your job as a teacher here, Mr. Xiao Long." Councilor Winchester remarks.
'Does it count though?' I find myself asking as I plan how to avoid the shit show of Taiyang going papa bear. 'We went on one, technically a date, and agreed to another.'
"Because your son accosted my daughter!" Tai says. "And from what I hear, got his ass kicked and ran to daddy."
'Shit, man's not beating around the bush.' I think as I sit and watch. 'He's gonna kick my ass next isn't he?'
"Is that not also what your, daughter did as well now? Else you'd not be here." Winchester says. "I hardly see why we should fault children for turning to their parents when faced with difficult situations. But, why don't we hear what happened first. Mr. Leon was it? Please inform us as to why you took the actions you did."
"Well, since you said please." I shrug. "Simply put, your son tripped Ruby, pulled her hood down and called her a dog. I took offence to that." I finish with a smile.
Tai pops his neck as he looks to Winchester.
"So you admit you assaulted my son then?" Winchester asks. "My, unarmed son."
I really need to figure out what the whole 'unarmed' shit is about.
"I admit to defending my partner." I shrug.
"From someone making an observation?" He says with a certain glint in his eyes. "From what I understand of this, your partner is Ruby Rose, Mr. Xiao Long and Mrs. Rose's daughter am I correct? Then it is safe to assume she inherited her mother's, traits? In which case-"
"Be careful over the next words that come out of your mouth, Winchester." Tai says as he steps between us. "Or you'll be counting yourself lucky my wife isn't here to deal with you. Otherwise you'd be needing a new set of legs. Again."
'Is that what the heavy sound was?' I find myself thinking. 'His legs are prosthetic?'
"Threatening a councilor now Mr. Xiao Long?" Winchester says. "That's grounds for accusations of treason."
"Gentlemen please." Ozpin says calmly, causing the two to stop. "Cyril, can you explain further?"
"Not much else to explain." I sigh casually. "The guy ran a check he couldn't cash, and now here we are."
I'm not sure what else I could say that hasn't already been mentioned. Aside from the dislocated shoulder I guess.
"Yes, here we are." Winchester says in a low tone. "I'll be blunt. I don't believe my son did anything to deserve such, savagery. As such I believe some reparations should be paid and we can all go about our separate ways."
What is this guy's deal?!
"The only thing you're getting-" Tai starts as he leans down into Winchester's face.
"Mr. Xiao Long, Tai." Ozpin stops him, hold out a hand. "Please."
Tai slowly comes back up. And crosses his arms as he steps back.
"Thank you." Ozpin says with a nod before turning to me. "Mr. Leon. What do you have to say to this?"
"Not happening." I say easily as I rest my hand on my fist. Sitting in the Skyrim Jarl pose. "If anything, I think I should be paid for my time here."
"You've got quite a high opinion of yourself there." Winchester says. "And why might that be? From my perspective, my son was merely doing as children do and messing about with their peers. That's when you assaulted him over what is clearly a misunderstanding." He then turns to the headmaster. "Ozpin, you've headed this school for nearly three hundred years."
"Two hundred and sixty eight." Ozpin says softly.
"You know how children are!" Winchester says.
"Mr. Winchester." Glynda says poignantly. "The law is clear, any and all individuals accepted into Beacon are considered adults by law. Referring to them as children is a grave insult when done so by a non-Hunter."
That, doesn't sound right. But, fuck it, if it puts this guy on Glynda's radar then more to him!
"A mere reference of maturity." He says. "I merely believe Mr. Leon overreacted and needs to make amends to my son."
I'm bored, pissed, and about done with this back and forth.
Time to escalate things.
"Ah yes!" I say with a smile as I snap my fingers. "I overreacted! That's it! He was just, making observations you said? No harm done right? And it's not like I saw him trip my partner or anything, right? Ruby could've tripped and Cardin just, laughed at it. Then tugged her hood off while trying to help her! And I must have taken him calling her a dog of a rare breed, far out of context! Rare can mean exceptional after all, he was clearly complementing her."
This earns a questioning glare from him, and Glynda as I put on a false smile. While Ozpin merely raises a brow.
That thing about me not caring? I lied. Being reminded of the event, and having Cardin defended, changed my mind. My tolerance has peaked.
"What are you getting at?" He asks.
"In your own words, Cardin Winchester, was poking harmless fun at my teammate, claiming her to be, a dog." I say as I sit up and lean over to him, a malicious smile on my face. "Am I, wrong?"
"I would not put it so, but I would agree to the harmlessness of his actions." He answers around the question.
"Then allow me to make the, harmless observation." I say. "The only dog you'd find in that room, was when I made your son my bitch."
I enjoy every second of the man's face reddening. The only sound in the room being Tai coughing into his fist to hide his laughter.
"Just a, harmless observation." I say with a smirk.
"You would dare speak of my son in such a manner before me!?" He shouts as he stands up. "Do you have any clue as to what the repercussions-"
"Go home already." I say as I sit back and pick at my nails.
"Mr. Leon!" Glynda begins before Ozpin holds a hand up to stop her.
The room is silent for a bit. The only sound being the soft clicks of the gears under us as I pick at my nails while Winchester stares down at me.
"What gives you the impression that you have any power here." Winchester says. "In case you are unaware, I am a member of the council of this great kingdom. I can have you barred from restaurants and banned from stores. Should I wish, I could have you removed from Beacon entirely! I was being nice when I offered to allow this issue to fall aside so easily and you spit in my face!?"
"Do all politicians love the sound of their voice?" I ask as I stand up as well, looking up at him with disinterest. "Yeah, you could do all that. Ban me from stores and remove me from Beacon. But you won't."
"And what makes you think that?" He asks with a snarl.
"Because you're a powerful man, and I'm a no name silver eyed orphan." I smirk, watching his glare harden as he realizes his intimidation didn't work. "You have quite the lofty position don't you? Bet you worked hard to get there."
"And what would you know of my position?" He asks with barely restrained frustration.
Welcome to earth politics. Where pettiness is the driving factor.
"Enough to know that all it takes is one good scandal to throw you off your chair." I say in a low tone. "You no doubt have a list of people aiming for your seat, how many would jump at the opportunity to see you removed and open it up for themselves, hmm? Do the smart thing. Go home, and tell your kid to man up."
Winchester's face becomes borderline purple with rage. His eyes narrowed and face scrunched up.
"I believe we've nothing more to discuss. As such, I'll be taking my leave." He grits out as he turns to shove past Tai. Stomping his way to the elevator. Not even looking up as he presses the buttons to leave.
…
I turn back to Ozpin.
"Can I go now?" I ask.
"Well, seeing as-" Ozpin begins.
"Actually." Tai says as he puts a hand on my shoulder. "I need to talk to Cyril here, in my office."
For fuck's sake!

Adam Taurus POV
.
"I don't see what's so hard to understand." Perry Magma says as he organizes his weapon. "We don't, like her."
"I just, guys please." I try to explain to my team. "She's, she's just sheltered is all."
"She's a priss." Shay, the only human on the team says. "And I'm being nice."
'How did it come to this?' I bemoan my situation. 'You know how it got to this point, you're just not willing to get harsh with her.'
It's as I'm thinking this that we hear a knock on the door.
"If that's her." Trifa starts. "I will throw something. Might be sharp, might be blunt. Might be Perry's hat."
"No." Perry says, pointing a finger to my partner.
"Look, I'll." I take a deep breath. "I'll talk to her."
"Sure you will." Trifa says as she leans against the window.
Calming myself down, I turn and head for the door. Opening it, I sure enough see my best friend, also, ex girlfriend.
"Hey Adam." She says with a soft smile.
"Trifa!" I hear Perry shout behind me.
"Hey, Blake." I say with a sad smile back.
"Is, everything okay?" She asks.
'You know what you gotta do.' I tell myself.
"Blake, we need to talk." I tell her. "Somewhere, private."
.
.
-Beacon Gardens, 11am-
.
.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" Blake asks nervously.
'Don't wimp out.' I tell myself. 'You have a responsibility to her, your team, and to yourself to be honest here.'
"Blake." I start off slowly. "Why, do you keep coming over to my dorm?"
"Why, well." She begins to explain. "I, wanted to get to know your team. That's all."
She knows better than to lie to me.
"Blake, you should be getting to know your team." I tell her. "Not mine."
"I know enough about them." She says bitterly.
"Clearly not enough." I remark.
"What do you mean?" Blake asks, looking to me curiously.
"Blake, this morning at lunch. I was eating with my partner and a fellow second year team." I begin to explain. "Their team, has a rabbit Faunus, Harse culture."
The culture is important to note, because it explains certain behaviors. Like how Harse are pacifists.
"Okay, Adam I'm not seeing where this is going." Blake says.
"Did you know that Cyril is being tutored in history?" I ask her.
"No, though it would explain why he doesn't have history class with us." She says after a bit of thought. "Again-"
"Velvet, the Harse, is his tutor." I cut her off, watching as her eyes widen.
"What, what did he do to her!?" Blake says as she stands up. "You know she wouldn't do anything to defend herself!"
Over exaggeration but, okay.
"Nothing." I say, causing Blake to pause. "He did, nothing to her. And that was confirmed by her partner, who was there."
"Well, that's, so?" Blake says with no small amount of confusion. "He won't do anything when others are looking. Most people won't!"
"Blake!" I snap and raise my voice. "Let me, please, finish. Okay?"
Not seeing her react or say anything further, I explain how Cyril defended his partner from another first year.
"Well, that could just be him looking for an excuse to fight someone!" Blake says.
"Oh my god Blake." I groan into my hands. "This is why we broke up!"
"We didn't break up!" She stomps her foot.
"Yes we did!" I say as I stand up, towering over her. "I love you Blake, but I'm not in love with you. And it, it hurts me to see you deluding yourself into thinking we're meant to be!"
And here come the water works. I can never bare to see her cry, so I have to look away.
"But we are Adam." She says, holding back sobs.
"No, we're not." I stress. "We had a thing, and it was, I wouldn't change it for the life of me. But we're not, it's not gonna work out. But you have to get over this, this obsession!"
"You took my virginity!" She shouts.
"And you took mine!" I shout back, turning to face her once more. "That doesn't make us soul mates or, whatever you think it makes us."
And here come the full on tears. Next comes the anger.
"This is all that no name spider's fault!" Blake yells. "I don't know what she's done but-"
"She hasn't done anything Blake." I cut her off. "This is about you and your issues. You can't keep running to me every time something happens. I've moved on, it's time you do as well."
This has gotten, way off point.
"Adam, why are you saying this?" Blake asks.
"Because Blake." I decide to finally rip off the band aide. "I'm done. Okay? I thought that getting into Beacon would help you grow, instead all it's done is force you into a harder shell and you keep running to me to make you feel better. This is me putting my foot down and-"
I don't get out any other words as Blake slaps me. Cutting me off as she disappears with the help of her semblance.
Taking a moment to calm down, I resist the urge to chase after her. And, just sit on the bench and think.
"You can come out, Perry." I say loud enough for the Faun to hear.
"How'd you guess?" He asks as he sits down next to me. "I thought I was pretty well hidden."
He was. But I know him.
"You're you." I point out. "As tight lipped as you are, you can't keep your nose out of things."
He chuckles a bit as he removes his fedora and brushes it off. Before putting it back on.
"Suppose you do know me." He chuckles. "But, let's talk about you. Wanna talk?"
Taking a deep breath. I look up and enjoy the scenery of the garden a bit more.
"Yeah, yeah I could use someone to unload." I admit after telling off my ex.

Remnant Culture: The Silver Eyed Warriors
.
The Silver Eyed Warriors. Everyone knows of them. But few have met any in person. They are a nomadic sort, primarily separated into four clans. The Rosaceae, primarily holding roots in Valean territory. The Liliaceae, Hailing from Solitas. The Cactaceae, who are found to place themselves in the outskirts of Vacuo. And The Fabaceae, hailing in Anima.
The Silver Eyed Warriors are hailed and venerated heroes. Natural enemies of the Grimm, so much so that the Grimm will target them and ignore others in favor of the chance to cut down one of their kinds sworn enemies.
Yes, the Silver Eyes are to Grimm, what the Grimm are to us. With ease, they cut down the monsters, and some can kill the Grimm with but a look. This stems from an inherited sort of semblance that manifests in their eyes, turning them into a shining Silver.
The Silver Eyed Warriors are so crucial to our survival, that they are exempt from several form taxes, and may not even be drafted in times of war. They exist to protect us from the Grimm after all, not each other. No one would dare risk the life of a Silver Eyed Warrior, on average they kill seven times the amount of Grimm as compared to the average Hunter. And they rarely ever stop going, until the day they can't.
Their lives revolve around keeping humanity safe from the Grimm.
This is the modern perception of them. People place them on a pedestal of grandeur and expectation. Hero worship is never more apt than when applied to the Silver Eyed Warriors.
You may find people moving out of their way out of respect. Giving discounts for goods and services. Special treatment all around.
One can only imagine how lonely it must be.

"Frustratingly in your favor." The younger answers. "His presence, his actions, have changed two major events. It is not much but."
"It proves that it is possible, to guide, without a heavy hand." The elder preens, much to the younger's annoyance. "We merely require, experience."
"I suppose." The younger says. "However, I am still not convinced in full."
"You merely desire to see the boy's journey." The elder accuses. "You need not lie to me, nor yourself brother."
"It is not as though you are any better than I in that regard." The younger defends. "You wish to see this tale's end all the same."
"You are correct." The elder agrees easily.

Yes, Ruby is expecting Cyril and Weiss to get together. Again, she believes her Team will end up like her parent's team.
Thing is, her parent's team is the norm. Team CVFY is polyarmous, Coco is a lesbian and Velvet is Bi. Yatsuhashi is straight and Fox is Bi.
.
If the back and forth with Councilor Winchester seemed, off. That's because it was.
Cardin did not mention that Cyril or Ruby were Silver Eyed Warriors. However, he already made a big deal over the issue. So he couldn't just back out, that'd come off as weak and paint him as capricious, unstable. So, he was trying to play it as smart as possible.
You don't become a leader, by being stubborn and refusing to compromise.

This Blake, has issues. Yes, and they run deep.
Blake grew up rallying with her family and friends to end segregation and earn Faunus rights. But, Jacques's propaganda and lobbying caused it to end, much sooner.
She was six when the laws were officially redacted. Adam was almost nine. To her, her earliest memories are of fighting the oppressive humans, listening to her father's speeches about how they promised freedom but gave them slavery under a different name. She was there for all the big things.
But, from her point of view, it just, ended one day. She was six. She didn't have the mind to understand the nuance of the laws being revoked. She just saw that, one day everyone was marching and shouting at the bad humans, then the next, they weren't. She then spent the rest of her life, interacting solely with Faunus. Avoiding human workers or tourists.
Adam might have turned out the same, but he's a Bull'ack, born and raised in their values. They have a 'might makes right, earn your own meal' mentality. And he set out to prove himself, working as security for ships had forced him into Interacting with humans on a semi regular basis. And he learned that, for every one racist, and one sympathizer, there are twenty humans who fall somewhere in between with their views towards faunus, but ultimately don't care.
.
Also, Blake has a, hidden issue with humans that'll be revealed at a later date.
