Ianto was still annoyed with himself for being so paranoid, especially as Owen kept telling him that there was only one baby in there. It was three weeks after the initial scans and he went to Toshko, just to make sure and stop his mind going crazy.
Yeah, of course there were two heartbeats. The first one hiding behind the other one.
"A boy and a girl." Ianto said flatly.
"How did you… oh right. God" she laughed, shaking her head "Owen is so bad with this gadget."
"I knew it. Oh gods… do NOT tell Jack. After nearly dying with Logan … He is not going to like this.. not at all." Ianto sighed.
"Like what Taddy?"
Ianto grimaced as Lolly stood there in the doorway with her little one in her arms, her eyes flicking from Ianto to Toshiko like she had found something she knew she shouldn't be involved with and yet… was there.
"That bubba is a little smaller than I thought he would be but also… really cute. But Dadda might have liked to see as well and I did this without him" Ianto said quickly as her eyes narrowed and she looked at them both a little longer, then he felt it. Like a feather touch. The little bugger was trying to 'see' if he was lying.
"Hudson" the little terror finally said with a nod of her head, "Yes. He is small, tiny."
"Hudson" Ianto repeated with shock.
"Yeas, you know the old tapestry in the main room. Logan is Logan and the Hudson will be the Hudsucker line. Don't be a divvy." She snorted, wandering off as Ianto stood there with his mouth open.
"Wow. That went well. She had no idea" Owen snarked as Ianto slowly turned to glare at him. Fucker was in the other doorway, clearly with a better view of the screen Toshiko had turned away quickly "What. Toshi love? Why is his eye twitching like that?"
"Darling, let's go over to a safe place and I will whisper in your ear why you are in a spot of trouble right now" she patted his arm, leading him away as Ianto's hands went to cradle his tummy.
Two.
Twins.
The Gods were on a roll.
.
.
"Daddy?"
"Yes my amazing daughter and queen of all?" Jack asked as he looked up from the paperwork he was clearly not doing, just messing up a bit so Ianto might believe he had done at least a little bit of it.
"Hudson needs things. He can't just use all of Logan's old stuff ya know."
"Hudson"
"The new bub." She rolled her eyes.
"You… you've named him?" Jack gaped "Wait. Hudson. You think … you know. I think he will throw to my bloodline too. How about that, I was just telling Taddy that I feel so excited."
"Yes, do keep up old man. He needs different stuff. Logan and Huddy will be different people." She waved a hand at him again.
"Huddy. I don't know if Taddy will allow that one… he has not given me any indication on a name but… I do like Hudson." Jack said as he opened the drawer to reveal the catalogue that he was already going though.
"Sneaky Daddy" she said with glee.
.
.
Ianto knew something was going on but allowed it, his own thoughts too busy to allow someone else's in as well so when his daughter came to him with a question he was unprepared.
"What?"
"Daddy sez calling Hudson Huddy is not a go. So… do you have a nickname for little brother yet? Daddy sez you had one for me… and for Logan. So… he's not a peanut. He's not going to be a spark or a star… he doesn't like any of those" she demanded, her arms folded defiantly.
"Oh, so you are having conversations with him now?" Ianto asked, with amusement.
"Could be" she said with a sniff, her face still stubbornly gleeful.
"Well… I do have a nickname but… ah… I don't know" Ianto said, this something he had not really even said out loud.
"Well?"
He saw that he could not get away with a half-arsed reply and decided to be honest.
"OK. Well, since the feeling of being pregnant… I have bene calling him… Wolfie. OK? I know it sounds silly but… puppy sounded so babyish and… he feels more like a Wolfie."
"Wolfie." She said, catching the word and he sighed as he nodded. She had it. The name he had for the boy.
The girl… had another one altogether.
.
.
"Oh my god" Ianto said as he stood looking at what he had walked into.
"What do you think?" Jack asked with glee the nursery transformed into a sea of blue. Even Logan seemed shocked as he stood there, still holding Ianto's hand with his eyes bugging out, then with a squeal he ran for the little bed and leapt on it.
Ianto sighed "And it never occurred to you that he knows this is his room and so these changes are to HIS room? As in… for him? A Blu-man-chu room?"
"But the new pup will…"
"No. No. The new pup er… will ned a new room. Was going to talk to Lolly actually about possibly moving her room to the larger one that was Rose's now that Rose and Malcolm are in the Summer House." Ianto spluttered. "They needed space with their little boy they adopted plus the newling growing."
"The big room?" came a shriek from beside Logan's bed as she appeared form the toy box "Oh wow… I can have the big room with the cool patio out into the garden? Oh wow… can I? The roses on the walls? OH YESSSSSSS!"
"Well… that is what I was thinking. This is Logans' room and I think the incoming might be better in Lolly's old space."
"That room is bigger than this one" Jack muttered looking around with a frown "I mean… shouldn't Logie move over to…"
"Our son is not a hoik of snot out of your nose darling. Stop calling him that. And he is in love with this room now. Look at him!" Ianto scolded while trying to remain calm, knowing he needed the larger room for the …. Two… incomings.
Jack felt something in Ianto's insistence and finally nodded.
After all… he thought he was doing one room but this means…
"Oh Lolly Love. Come on… we have so much more to do… you need a new bed!" Jack finally gushed, the prospect of redecorating Rose's room for Lolly and then lolly's for the newling was too much.
"Oh… and Cariad?"
Jack paused in the doorway, looking back with raised eyebrows.
"The incoming… not blue. I see lavender and purples. Peaceful and cool." Ianto advised. "White gossamer and fluffs sort of like Lolly's pink style? The newling will be… gentle. Not Logan's powerhouse of boldness."
"Oooooo" two voices said at the same time as father and daughter swung to gape at one another, this new idea one that had not even had before. The possibilities were… endless!
Ianto relaxed as this meant both newlings would like it, their soft touches to his mind telling him so.
God, how long could he keep this up? The horrible thought of losing one, of the time of waiting ending with maybe losing both keeping him from spilling the beans on the twin thing.
But at least Jack and Lolly were happy… Logan a typical Logan... not really crying as he would prefer being with Grandy in the garden anyway.
Ianto was hungry.
Again.
Something salty?
Hmmmmm.
