AN: to those of you who may dislike Rias may I point you to Imperial-samaB? They make some great DxD stories where Issei really isn't that involved with Rias, personally, I really enjoyed Sona DxD sure Issei still joins Rias as that's what Sona had planned for him but all in all I love the interaction between Sona and Issei in it. Now let's go onward into the new chapter. Well, this sucks Jason David Frank died, I loved power rangers as a kid and Tommy was one of my favorites. Rest in Peace Ranger. God of War that is all I'll say.
Chapter 7
"Why do I have to do this again Onii San?" A girl with drill-like hair asked. Her brother sat in his chair with his queen draped over him with an arrogant smirk.
"Simple my dear sister, I want to know about that hovel My Rias is watching over." He said with apparent disinterest. "Once I marry her I want to know if it's even worth anything."
Ravel thought back on that day as she watched the Nun walk off. Something seemed to be going on in this town and it all started with the death of that high school student. Rias had snuck into the hospital his body went to and left with a frown. She figured the girl didn't have the pieces to bring him back. Ravel would have written the boy off but a few weeks later she saw him walking about the town as if nothing had happened and something felt different about him. It reminded her about the time Sairaorg beat her brother but was far weaker. She had to return soon so she called someone she had met a few days ago to keep an eye on the Nun. It was just a hunch but she felt that girl would somehow get involved with whatever was happening.
"Hello? Yes, I would like to call in that favor you owe me. Oh, nothing too hard just keep an eye open for a blonde Nun. Thank you very much." Ravel ended the call and teleported away.

"Time to get up you two." The door bursts in and Issei tries to hide from his mom. "We really don't want your mom coming in here and assuming things do we?" Instead of his mother, it was the familiar blue-haired reaper Botan.
"B-Botan? What are you doing here?" Issei asked sitting up. His blanket slid to his waist, he didn't have a six-pack or anything but the two girls in his room did notice his body was a lot more muscular than it seemed when he had clothes on.
"You know, I really should have paid more attention last night," Rias muttered. She knew Botan was Issei's liaison with Spirit world and assisted them with finding him last night but why was she still here? Did something else happen?
"W-wait a minute I remember now you were one of the people who interpreted my fight with the thief! How did you find me?" Issei asked as he remembered the night before.
"Simple, with this." Botan held up a watchlike compass. "This handy compass allowed me to track you via spirit energy, Kiba and Koneko were walking around in circles until they saw me and we came up with that ingenious plan."
"So they were following me?" Issei looked over to Rias.
"I couldn't let you die so soon after you joined my peerage. They were only ordered to get involved if something life-threatening happened." Rias shrugged.
"Botan! Is issei up yet?" Issei's mom called from downstairs.
"Yes, he is. He's getting ready right now." Botan replied with a pointed stare. Seeing that Issei nodded and sighed.
"Would you mind? I'm kind of indecent right now." Issei asked the two girls.
"~Who do you think stripped you?~" Rias said slyly. Botan was blushing up a storm and turned around. After a few seconds of staring at the girl in his bed, Issei sighed and stood up trying to keep things hidden from them while putting some clothes on. Finishing that he turned to see Rais with a grin and Botan still facing the wall.
"I'll be down in a second mom!" Issei called his mother. "So why are you here? I found the thieves they just got away yesterday."
"Well, I am technically your partner so there's that." Botan pointed out before getting more serious. "Unfortunately it turns out you have a deadline. You need to get the treasures back in less than seven days."
"Seven days?!" Issei was shocked. "That woman kicked my ass how am I supposed to beat her and the over two in seven days! What the hell is Koenma thinking!?"
"He's trying to minimize the damage," Botan replied. "His father doesn't know about the theft but when he returns from his trip…" Botans eyes showed just how terrified she was. "There will be near biblical amounts of destruction until he gets the treasures back." Issei looked over to Rias and saw she was just as terrified by that notion. Breakfast was tense his mother knew Botan was here but when Rias came down she gave Issei a questioning gaze thankfully Rias was able to break the tension. Issei was glad he wasn't going to be grilled but he wasn't sure he was happy with Rias casting a spell on his mother. As they made their way to school something strange stood out to Issei. Botan having a human body wasn't new she did use it when he was recruited to be a spirit detective but he didn't remember her having a Kouh uniform.
"Botan? Why are you wearing our uniform?" Issei asked. He wouldn't complain she looked great in it, especially with how the rather short skirt fit her. Botan must have noticed him looking because she did a little twirl and ended it with a skip.
"What do you like it?" She asked with a cat-like smirk. "I am supposed to be assisting you on these cases so I asked Koenma to let me stay for a bit. You still need training after all."
"Training? Koenma already showed me how to use my spirit gun though?" Issei said holding his finger up.
"And it's a one-shot and done kind of power. You shouldn't just rely on that." Botan scolded him. "Think of spiritual power as a muscle the more you train it the stronger it gets."
"Oh, I get it! So you must be an expert in it right?" Issei slammed a fist into his palm.
"Well…" Botan rubbed the back of her head before looking apologetic. Rias and Issei both missed a step and nearly fell over in disbelief. "I'm good at the basics. Koenma said something about finding you the right teacher soon though."
"We also need you to release your sacred gear." Rias pointed out.
"Sacred gear?" Issei wondered what that was, did Rias tell him during her explanation of the supernatural? There was a lot to take in that day and he kinda faded in and out during it.

Issei slumped into his chair as the final bell of the day rang. His mind went back to Rias reexplaining what a Sacred Gear was and how they believed he had one. They said the easiest way for him to know was to imagine the strongest being he knew which happened to be Son Goku from Dragon Ball and when he looked the strongest, and then repeat the process. Thankfully the school bell saved him from performing the Kamehameha in front of people. He really was not ready to kill his social life that quickly.
"Ise, the bell rang already. Ise?" Murayama waved her hand in front of his face in concern. "Are you feeling well?"
"Huh?" Issei turned and saw Murayama and Katase staring at him. "Oh, I'm sorry I was just thinking."
"Well, that's new. / Yeah, no wonder you were zoned out." His two friends joked.
"Hey! I'll have you know I think all the time." He half growled and laughed.
"What about that time when you jumped into a lake to get Irina's ball back only to realize you couldn't swim?" Murayama asked. Issei tilted his head wondering who Irina was, He remembered something similar with Ikki.
"Or that time in the park with the old man?" Katase added.
"Hey! His stories were interesting." Issei countered.
"And remember what happened because of them?" Murayama glared at him. Issei gulped it wasn't his fault, he was curious and they were the ones who left the door unlocked.
"I haven't peeped since! I swear!" Issei bowed his head. Sure he flipped their skirts from time to time but he learned early what would happen if he peeped.
"Good. So what's really going on then?" Katase asked. Issei hesitated, he still wasn't sure how these two would take his new change. He wanted to tell them but he was afraid.
"Well, it's just... I have a lot on my plate right now." Issei decided to partly lie for now. "I kind of cut a part-time job to help my mom and they already have me on a deadline, and I'm worried something bad will happen if I miss it. It's nothing too big." They looked at each other and seemed to have a mental conversation then turned back towards him.
"Alright if you're sure." Katase started.
"If you need anything just tell us." Murayama finished with a wink.
"Yeah just call us if we can help. Yuki and I need to get to our club now." Katase and Murayama waved and left the room.
"It's safer if you guys don't know for right now." Issei sighed and headed out himself. He found Kiba and Koneko waiting for him. "Hey guys, where's Botan?"
"She had to ferry some souls earlier today, she said she'll meet us by the gates," Kiba told him.
"Well let's go hunt a fallen angel and two demons I guess." Issei didn't like their odds. 'Use it…' Issei looked around wondering what he had heard but not seeing a reaction from either Kiba or Koneko he shrugged it off as nerves.

Issei cursed himself, the last time he found them was sheer dumb luck, and the compass was designed for demons and people with strong spiritual power, Rayner was neither. Kiba had split off with Koneko so they could cover more ground so it was just him and Botan now. He thought back to what Rayner had said hoping to remember some clue. His mind flashed to before the fight when she was holding the Orb of Baast. "You see I need this for a little nun I know. Though if you really want it. You'll have to come and get it. Though allow me to test something first."
"That's it!" Issei slammed his fist into his palm.
AHH! What?! Issei why did you yell?" Botan jumped glaring at him.
"When I tried to get the Orb from Rayner she mentioned needing it for a little nun she knew. So we are looking for a religious girl probably near the old church." Issei tilted his head and looked confused and cursed under his breath.
"What's wrong?" Botan asked, she knew of Devil's aversion to churches and wondered if that was it.
"That church has been abandoned for almost a decade now," Issei explained. "We should have heard about it opening up."
"Maybe it's not the church then, or they could be using it as a hideout since no one goes there." Botan theorized.
"Well either way we are looking for possibly someone new to town, so let's keep an eye out for people who seem lost." Issei shrugged, if they could find the nun then maybe they could either find where Rayner was or drag her out of hiding. Either way, it was going to be a long night.
"Excuse me." A soft feminine voice called out. "I'm kind of lost can you help me?" Issei turned to see a blonde girl in a nun outfit.

Kiba and Koneko rounded the corner of the shopping district as they looked for clues. The fallen wasn't using the Orb like a demon would so it was harder to track her. They had been looking for hours and the sun had started to set when they ran into Shuichi Minamino the same person Rias tried recruiting before Issei. He had taken time off school due to his mothers failing health.
"Why hello, there I didn't expect to see any fellow classmates today. How are you doing Kiba?" Shuichi asked in a pleasant tone. Had he been a devil others might mistake him for a Gremory with his bright red hair.
"It's good to see you to Minamino. I'm doing well, however, I am in the middle of a club activity at the moment so excuse me if I can't stay and chat." Kiba responded in a pleasant tone as well.
"Ah, I see. I am sorry for bothering you then. I'd offer to help but I must go speak to the local priest for my mother." Shuichi bowed and left.

"Are you sure this is a good idea, Yuki?" Katase asked as they ducked around the corner avoiding Issei's gaze.
"There's something up with Ise and you know how he is. If we don't follow, he'll keep it bottled up till it's too late." Murayama countered. "And anyway, I want to know who that girl is."
