'GOLDEN TRIO'S MUGGLEBORN PRINCESS ACTUALLY PUREBLOOD NOTT HEIRESS!'
By Rita Skeeter
There is hardly a person in the world who hasn't heard of Hermione Granger, one third of the famed "Golden Trio," whose crucial efforts have been lauded as the actions that brought down He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
Miss Granger rose to prominence as Harry Potter's best friend, and ex-girlfriend, during her fourth year at Hogwarts, when she famously dumped Mr. Potter for Bulgarian Quidditch superstar, Viktor Krum. Continuing her heartbreak streak with handsome quidditch players, Miss Granger dated Cormac McGlaggen (a fellow Gryffindor) during her sixth year of Hogwarts, and had a short-lived romance with Mr. Ronald Weasley, the third and final member of the Golden Trio. In addition to being the heartbreaker of her friend group, Miss Granger also earned a reputation of being the "Smartest Witch of Her Age." Her talent with a wand, was unrivaled, and she earned 11 O.W.L's, the most since Albus Dumbledore. All of this, despite the setbacks due to her Muggle heritage. But it would seem that the beguiling Miss Granger, has a secret past.
It appears that Hermione Granger is actually the eldest daughter of the late Thoros and Emily Nott. The Nott's were avid supporters of the Dark Lord during the first and second part of the war. Lady Nott passed away from a mysterious illness 9 years after marrying her husband, and left behind her beloved husband and son, Theo. Thoros was killed in the Battle of Hogwarts, by an errant troll's club, leaving his son as heir and head of the House of Nott.
It was long believed that the Nott's daughter had passed away moments after her birth. The baby's funeral was attended by a small group of close friends of the Nott's and included the Malfoy's, the Parkinson's and the Greengrass's. Her death was supposed to have caused so much distress to the new parents, that they never named the baby, simply burying her on the Nott property as "Baby Nott." But thanks to a reliable source who has chosen to remain anonymous, we now know that whoever was buried on the 24th of September, was not in fact the poor daughter of the Nott family.
Putting aside the mystery of who is buried on the Nott Property, there is one more piece of evidence confirming that Miss Granger is not in fact Miss Granger, but is indeed Miss Nott. After doing some digging in the Ministry records, it would seem that a betrothal contract was signed by the late Mr. Nott, and Mr. Lucius Malfoy, for Miss Nott and Mr. Draco Malfoy. It appears that the contract was activated on her 18th birthday, which would have been after the young pair graduated Hogwarts, under ordinary circumstances.
For obvious reasons, this did not happen, and both Mr. Malfoy and Miss Granger returned to Hogwarts for the optional 8th year of Hogwarts, and the contract's timeline has been pushed back by five years, by Miss Granger's head of house, and her brother, Theo. Will love flourish between the two? Miss Granger and Mr. Malfoy have always had a rivalry throughout their schoolyears. One has to wonder if there was an underlying something else beneath the heated arguments that they had. Either way, it seems that we will be hearing wedding bells within the next five years from the young couple.
As for now though, we offer our congratulations to Hermione Granger on her upcoming nuptials, and for finding her family.
Hermione had read, and reread the article about forty times after she'd ran from the Great Hall, and barricaded herself in her's and Ginny's dorm. Neville had followed her up to Gryffindor Tower and had tried to get her to open the door for two hours, although Hermione had refused to drop the wards she'd placed on the door. She'd been left alone for a few hours, and then Ginny had started pounding on the door insisting that Hermione let her in. Instead, she'd laid on her bed, and ignored the red-haired girl.
It had been hours though, and Hermione had watched the sun start to go down, and she was finally starting to feel hungry, after skipping breakfast and lunch. Unwilling to go down and face the rest of the school, Hermione sighed, internally cursing herself for what she was about to do. "Mipsy?" she called.
With a loud crack, the little elf appeared in front of Hermione. "Mistress called?"
Hermione grimaced. "Please don't call me that Mipsy. You can just call me Hermione."
Mipsy nodded her head. "Did Mistre- Missy Hermione need somethings from Mipsy?"
"I was wondering if you would mind getting me something to eat from the kitchens?" Hermione asked tentatively. "I don't feel much up to going downstairs."
Mipsy nodded her head, her ears flapping quickly at the movement. "Mipsy will bring Missy Hermione dinner." Mipsy added in an upset tone, "Missy Hermione shouldn't have to face anyone today." She then disappeared with a crack.
Hermione threw the paper she'd been clutching still onto the trunk at the end of her bed, and moved to the bathroom to splash some water on her face while she waited for Mipsy to return. Since discovering she was the owner of a house elf, Hermione had tried to offer Mipsy her freedom, though it had gone disastrously, with the little elf having a full meltdown at the thought of being freed by Hermione, and begging to not be freed.
After seeing that freedom caused more distress to the little creature, Hermione abandoned that idea, and had instead tried her hardest to not utilize the elf, which was not working either. Hermione's bed had been turned down every night since she'd discovered that she was Theo's sister, and her clothes were laid out for her every morning before she woke. In addition, the second any of Hermione's supplies began to run low, fresh supplies were in her belongings before Hermione could order new ones. It seemed that the elf was determined to take care of Hermione, whether she was willing or not. In addition, Mipsy had taken a shining to Ginny as well, ensuring that Hermione's closest female friend was taken care of as well, which made Ginny cackle.
Hermione heard the crack that meant that Mipsy had returned, and made her way out of the bathroom. Mipsy had brought up a curry, some rice, and a jug of pumpkin juice, along with a clean goblet, and set them on a small table she had conjured in front of Hermione's bed. Hermione sat down, muttering a quiet thank you. She ate quietly, thinking quietly.
"Mipsy?" Hermione asked tentatively after a few minutes.
"Yes Missy Hermione?" Mipsy answered excitedly. "Is the curry to Missy Hermione's liking? I coulds get you something else!"
Hermione shook her head. "No! No, the curry is wonderful. Thank you." She said emphatically, already feeling guilty for taking advantage of the fact that she had an elf to help her eat away from all the prying eyes.
"I was wondering why I was given away," she said quietly, looking down at her bowl.
Mipsy hung her head. "It hurt Mistress Emily deeply to give you up."
Hermione looked up from her bowl. "Then why?"
"Mistress Emily loved yous and Master Theo very much. But she did not want yous to be trapped like her. And she did not want you to marry young Master Malfoy. She thought that if Master Thoros believed you were dead, you would be have more freedom than her. She did not know that Master Thoros had not dissolved the marriage contract. Mistress Emily would be so upset if she were still here." Mipsy answered, a few tears leaking out of her large eyes.
"But why keep one of us, why not send both of us away?" Hermione asked, desperate for answers.
Mipsy looked up at Hermione with sorrow in her eyes. "Mistress Emily believed that she could only protect one of you, and that your future was the worse one." Mipsy reached out, and took Hermione's hand in her own. "But Mistress Emily never stopped loving you. You were always in her heart, and she mourned your loss every day."
Hermione felt tears welling up in her eyes. "I had a good life." Whether she was comforting herself or the elf, she didn't know.
"My parents were good people who loved me unconditionally, and-" Hermione choked on a sob that threatened to escape. "And they were proud of me for being a witch."
Mipsy smiled. "When Mistress Emily sent you away, I was ordered to find yous the best parents I could. Missy Hermione makes Mipsy happy to know she succeeded."
Hermione smiled through her tears. "Thank you Mipsy."
Mipsy smiled at her, and seeing that Hermione was done eating, cleared the dishes with a snap, and pulled Hermione's bedding down. "Yous has had a long day Missy Hermione. Yous will feel better after sleep." She patted Hermione's knee, then picked up the paper, and left.
Hermione looked over at her pillow, and decided that Mipsy was probably right. After changing out of her uniform, and into her pajamas, she pulled her wand out, dropped the wards so that Ginny could get in when she was ready for bed, and then turned over onto her side, and fell fast asleep.
