Chapter 7: A avenged battle:
An enormous circular black base stood in the center of the green valley near the city.
Inside, a massive battle ensued.
Terriermon kicked one of the white armored digimon down. Lopmon used her long ears to knock them down too. Lionessmon and Guilmon both delivered some hard punches to their enemies.
"The Digimon Hero is here!" one armored digimon cried out in warning. Renamon then kicked him in the face.
"Cat Laser!" BlackGatomon called. She fired purple lasers from her eyes. They hit the minions hard.
"Ran-gum Break!" Gumdramon called. He swung his hammer-like tail around. His attack struck more of the army.
Veamon slammed her head into another minion. She looked up and noticed that someone in their group was missing.
"Hey! Where's Gammamon?!" she called out. The white dinosaur is nowhere in sight.
"He was with us a moment ago. Don't tell me he had wandered off on his own." Gumdramon alerted.
"Hey! Renamon! Do you think we should…" Veamon began to say. But she and Gumdramon saw the older teammates, the Tamer Digimon, glaring in the distance.
A purple imp with an eye patch and black clothes walked through the flames and approached them.
"Impmon…" Guilmon, Terriermon and Renamon snarled together.
"Yo. Pineapple-head. Fox-face. Helicopter-head. Long time." Impmon said icly.
"We knew you'd be here." Lopmon replied. "It's no surprise someone as traitorous as you would join the Regime."
"You got it all wrong. I am not doing this out of resentment or anything like that" Impmon berated. "I have to because of what they did."
"And what is that?!" BlackGatomon scowled. Impmon reached up and undid his eye patch. The heroes' eyes widen in shock. Impmon's right eye has been replaced with a red cybernetic one.
"Because Duskmon took my eye." Impmon responded. "So the Regime made me this new cyber eye if I were to work for them."
"That's your reason?" Renamon scolded. "You joined the guy who basically destroyed your eye to conquer the Digital World?!"
"What else can I do? He threatened my life if I didn't." Impmon replied with a shrug. "Like it or not, I have to do Duskmon's dirty work."
"That's no reason!" Guilmon shouted. "You should reconsider your actions! You, Cyberdramon, MarineAngemon and Guardromon… you four should have not given in to your fears and joined the Regime!"
"Look who's talking, Mr. Seven-years-of-absence. We were hoping you would come and fight with us after Helicopter-head was arrested. But, no. You didn't show up to help like you said you would. You left us vulnerable to Duskmon and Lord Darknessmon!" Impmon yelled.
"He had a reason for that! And don't blame him for what you've done!" Terriermon snarled.
Impmon's cyber eye goes to work, scanning Guilmon's being.
"There's something different about you, I can tell. You're not just stronger now but something's missing from you. A destructive and dark part that is. You cast out Megidramon a long time ago didn't you?!" The purple imp exclaimed.
"Huh? Megidramon?" Gumdramon asked in confusion.
"My negative mega digivolved state." Guilmon answered. "Seven years ago, I went to see a master to ask if I could get stronger. He sensed Megidramon's darkness within him and helped me learn to cast it out. But that turned out to be a mistake and that darkness formed into a personal nemesis of mine on the loose. Not only was I training for seven years, I was pursuing him as well."
"So you're saying there's an evil version of you out there?" BlackGatomon asked. Her claws over her mouth.
"Well there you have it. Some hero you turned out to be. You unleashed that monstrosity into the whole world. This is your own fault." Impmon mocked. Guilmon's eyes twitched angrily. He knew the purple imp was right.
"No! That was YOUR fault, Impmon!"
Guilmon's eyes widened. He looked at an angry yellow vixen glaring at a surprised Impmon.
"Who was it who killed Leomon and caused his Tamer to make him dark digivolve?!" Renamon yelled angrily. "So don't go blaming Guilmon for your actions!"
"That's right! If you hadn't gone on a killing spree, then it would never have happened!" Terriermon ranted. "That was all on you!"
Lionessmon growled under her breath.
"Was it my fault that he got in the way?" Impmon sighed. "Besides, compared to Megidramon, my choice was the lesser of two evils."
"You're wrong!" Lionessmon roared. She stepped towards Impmon with a serious scowl on her face. "The Regime's no saint either. You lot are hurting alot of innocent Digimon! So comparing you to Guilmon, the red dino is still a hero in the Digital World's eye! He thought he was doing the right thing when he cast out his darkness! You are nothing to him!"
'What's with this girl?' Impmon thought scanning Lionessmon 'Why do I feel like… I know her from somewhere?'
"Guilmon, let me deal with this son of a bitch!" Lionessmon announced. "He will not mock you again when I'm done with you!"
"I am fighting too!" BlackGatomon hissed. She walked up beside Lionessmon's side. "I'm gonna scratch his other eye out after what he said to studmon!"
The original trio looked at each other at first before giving them a nod in approval.
"So I am up against two newcomers. Is this some kind of joke?" Impmon growled.
"Lightning Claw!" BlackGatomon called out. She dashed forward. Her claws crackled with purple lightning. Impmon easily step-sided her but he was taken by surprise.
"OK. You're better than you look. Guess I have no choice!" Impmon commented. He then closed his eyes and a dark purple sphere surrounded him.
"Impmon warp digivolve to… Beelzemon!"
He now stood as a tall demon Digimon. A blue mask-like helmet covered his head. His cybernetic eye remained but a third eye opened in the middle of his forehead. He wore a tight black biker jacket and pants. He held up two guns in his hands.
"Careful!" Lopmon warned. "Beelzemon's a mega! He won't go easy on you!"
"Like we care!" Lionessmon and BlackGatomon shouted in anger before leaping into battle.
"Renamon! Guilmon!" Veamon cried out which caught their attention. "Gammamon's not with us!"
"What?!" Renamon gasped. The vixen looked around and saw the white digimon was indeed gone.
"Oh you mean that white brat who was with you?" Beelzemon spoke up while avoiding the duo's attacks. "I am not the only one who's here. Right now, that pipsqueak is walking into a trap, set up by Darknessmon himself."
"Darknessmon?!" everyone else alerted.
"Renamon! Veamon! You two are with me!" Guilmon commanded. "We've got to find them!"
"Right away!" Renamon and Veamon announced together. They turned around and dashed off.
"Hey! You're supposed to be fighting me!" Beelzemon yelled.
"Sorry but maybe next time. Lionessmon and BlackGatomon are more of a match for you." Guilmon called back. "Trust me, you'll understand why they are cross with you."
"Fist of the Beast Queen!" Lionessmon unleashed a lion beast blast at Beelzemon. The mega Digimon blocked the attack and glared. The lioness and black cat resumed their fighting poses.
While the heroes were battling Beelzemon, Gammamon walked down a narrow corridor. It was pitch dark and he couldn't see a thing. The only thing guiding him was a smell of chocolate in the air.
He then found an opening in the distance and carefully walked down. He arrived in what seemed to be a chamber with a circular stage in the center. A set of stairs are seen attached to the area. The ceiling was a web of crossed pipes and cables.
Gammamon could see something in the center. It seems to be like a bar of chocolate. He darted down the stairs from the doorway before going up on the stage. As he reached for the chocolate, it vanished. It was a hologram all along.
"Aww… Gammamon wanted chocolate." he whined.
"You have finally come, young Gammamon."
Gammamon's eyes widened with shock as he heard a familiar voice with mechanical breathing. He quickly turned around and saw Darknessmon reveal himself. The evil Digimon walked down the stairs towards him.
"Your power is indeed formidable, but you are not a warrior yet."
"You! You're that evil Digimon who killed Elder Gabumon!" Gammamon yelped. He then glared. "But today's the day. Gammamon will avenge him!"
"Horn Attack!" Gammamon leapt up ready to strike with his two horns on his head.
Darknessmon simply avoided the attack. Gammamon landed on his chest before he rolled back up and threw a kick at the black digimon.
The evil digimon blocked the kick with his hand. "You have much to learn, young one."
"Yeah? Well, Gammamon's just getting warmed up!" Gammamon responded. He leapt up and whipped his tail around. The black armored Digimon skidded back from the impact.
"Breakclaw!" Gammamon powered his left claw with energy and he jumped at his opponent.
Darknessmon simply caught Gammamon's hand, stopping him dead. He then grabbed his ankle and spun the white digimon around in mid air. After a few seconds, he threw him to the floor. Gammamon's eyes swirled around dizzily. The black-armored Digimon stepped on the younger mon's back, pinning him on his stomach.
"Your fate lies with me, young one! Gabumon knew this to be true!" Darknessmon said.
"No…" Gammamon growled. "Elder Gabumon is nothing like you!"
Darknessmon lifted his foot off the white dino Digimon and held his throat. He proceeded to lift Gammamon up before tossing him into the air
"All too easy." Darknessmon commented. He held his hand and bolts of lightning shot from his fingertips. Gammamon yelled in pain as he was zapped in mid-air. "Perhaps you're not nearly as powerful as Duskmon feared."
Gammamon continued to scream. But as the lightning scorched him, he knew he couldn't give up. Slowly, his body glowed red. Darknessmon paused in confusion. Gammamon surged in power as he digivolved. The armored Digimon now faced BetelGammamon who landed on his feet before him.
"Impressive." Darknessmon commented.
"Sol Shot!" BetelGammamon roared. He summoned a flame into his hand. A maelstrom of fireballs knocked the dark Digimon away from the arena.
As he looked down from the stage, he was surprised to see that Darknessmon was gone.
BetelGammamon knew in his gut that the battle was far from over. Right now, he needs to get back to his friends. He saw a door on the opposite side of the room. He ran towards it and was gone.
"Double Impact!" Beelzemon called. He fired both his guns. BlackGatomon and Lionessmon zig zagged past the bullets.
However, while BlackGatomon was distracted, Beelzemon appeared behind her.
He kicked the black kitty in the back. BlackGatomon yelled and was sent colliding into Lionessmon.
"Darkness Claw!" Beelzemon followed up with a dark energy slash at the two females. Lionessmon and BlackGatomon crashed to the ground.
"Lionessmon! BlackGatomon!" Gumdramon cried out.
Beelzemon landed on his feet. He exhaled. "That was tougher than I thought. But that's done with. Now I'd best go after Pineapple head."
Just then, two enormous bursts of energy broke out. Beelzemon turned around in shock. BlackGatomon was basked in a dark purple aura and Lionessmon in a yellow glow.
Terriermon and Lopmon sensed their auras. The green terrier Digimon recognised them at once.
"Tamers Aura. But how did they…?" Lopmon alerted.
"Wait… could they be…?" Terriermon muttered.
Elsewhere, Guilmon, Renamon and Flamedrawomon were searching for Gammamon. Suddenly the dino and vixen stopped and turned back as they sensed two huge and yet familiar powers.
"That's definitely Tamers Aura." Guilmon said. "And it's coming from Lionessmon and BlackGatomon, no doubt about that."
"But how? Those two don't even have Tamers, right?" Flamedrawomon asked.
"True… but in their past lives, they may have had Tamers." Renamon answered. This confused the armor-digivolved Digimon.
"We'll explain later but for now, let's find Gammamon." Guilmon responded. They continued their search.
"BlackGatomon digivolve to…" BlackGatomon called. She changed to to a black latex clad humanoid form with long white hair. "LadyDevimon!"
"Lionessmon digivolve to…" Lionessmon called. She transformed into a four legged golden lion with saber long fangs. Her mane is spiky with dark orange tips on each one. "SaberLionessmon!"
"They digivolved?!" Beelzemon gasped. "But how?!"
"Infinity Arrow!" SaberLionessmon announced. She powered up her mane and tackled the surprised biker Digimon, paralyzing him.
"Stun Whip!" LadyDevimon called. SaberLionessmon leapt away as the devil-digimon shocked Beelzemon with her hand.
"Whoa. They sure are amazing." Gumdramon said in awe.
"It's no surprise." Terriermon told him. "Because we can guarantee we know who they are now."
Beelzemon struggled to get up to his feet. LadyDevimon and SaberLionessmon stood ready for their next attacks.
"Howling Crusher!" SaberLionessmon roared. She used her front claws to slash Beelzemon.
"Darkness Wave!" LadyDevimon followed up. She summoned a legion of bats. They swamed around the mega digimon. He yelled in pain.
Beezlzemon fell to his knees and reverted back to Impmon. He looked up at the two digivolved women glaring at him.
"It's over for you!" SaberLionessmon snarled. "Unless you wanna get deleted, you need to repent for the crimes you committed."
At first Impmon scowled at her, then he opened his eyes in shock as he saw another familiar image appear before her.
"You… I thought… I took your data… a long time ago… How did you… return… Leo…mon…" he said before he collapsed to the ground defeated.
"What did he say? What did he call me?" SaberLionessmon asked in confusion.
"I don't know. Maybe he is being an idiot." LadyDevimon exclaimed with a shrug.
"Not really." Lopmon admitted. The duo turned to face her. "We'll explain later. Right now, finding Gammamon and getting out of here is our top priority."
"I hope he hasn't run into trouble." Gumdramon pondered.
"Come on. Let's get going. We will return for Impmon next time." Terriermon said.
The group then dashed towards the nearest exit.
