Chapter 1

Monday, September 18, 2017

Around 6 AM, Serena has woken up and yawned. She stretched her arms out and looked around with her bedroom and startled for a few seconds. Then, Serena took a deep breath. She still hasn't gotten used to the new environment, but there was no time to worry about that; Serena has to wake up her younger siblings.

Serena leaped to her feet and remade her bed. She exited her bedroom and ambled to Suzume's bedroom and stood in front of the door and knocked on the door.

"Suzume, it's time for you to wake up! It's our first day at our new high school today!"

Suzume did not respond to her. Serena sighed and opened the door anyway. She entered and approached Suzume, who was still sleeping while drooling on her bed, and shook Suzume lightly. The younger girl slowly opened her eyes and stared at Serena, sleepy.

"Hey, sleepyhead." Serena smiled and ruffled Suzume's head affectionately.

"Crap!" Suzume finally realized why Serena has woken her up and has gotten off her bed. "I need to make my bed and wash my face!"

"Calm down, Suzume. You still have time to get ready for school." Serena chuckled.

Suzume pouted at Serena, and her honey-haired older sister just nodded to her with a small grin.

"Alright, if you insist. I'll wake Takeshi up." Serena said, leaving Suzume's bedroom and shutting the door behind her.

Suzume started to remade her bed while she wondered what her family's having for breakfast today. She's in a mood for traditional breakfast made out of scrambled eggs, shredded hash browns, bacon, and french toast with a tall glass cup of orange juice on the side. The thought of her favorite breakfast made her mouth waterly.

"Alright, I'm done," Suzume placed her Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki chibi dolls on her bed. "Now, I shall go to the bathroom and wash my face!"

Suzume exited her bedroom and founded Serena talking to Kaneyama in the hallway. Her older brother wore workout clothes and had a white towel around his neck. Suzume grinned happily. Kaneyama has always loved working out and owned a weight lifting equipment in the garage.

"Did you read the guidebook, Takeshi?"

"Yeah, I read that shit last night, and it got so boring that I fell asleep soon after."

"So, I guess you did not read all of the pages."

"Yo, I read most of the pages, so that should be good enough."

"Whatever, Takeshi. Just don't blame me if you ended up breaking a rule at school."

"Yeah, yeah."

Kaneyama ended his short chat with Serena and headed towards the restroom to wash his face.

Five minutes later, Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume went downstairs and headed towards the kitchen. They entered the kitchen and sat at the table. Tetsuya sat next to Suzume, reading a newspaper, and Eita prepared for breakfast. Kaneyama eyed at Eita and grinned proudly at his adoptive cousin. Eita and Serena were good at cooking, while he and Suzume weren't so good at all.

"Good morning, father, Eita," Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume greeted simultaneously.

"Yo," Eita responded, happily.

"Good morning, my children," Tetsuya put the newspaper down and smiled softly.

"And your breakfast is ready," Eita added happily.

Eita served each family member a plate of fried mashed potatoes, blueberry waffles, fried eggs, and sausages, and a glass cup of orange juice. Everyone was thankful for Eita's cooking and began to eat their breakfast. Suzume wanted the traditional breakfast, but she loved to eat waffles sometimes, so she did not complain. Kaneyama devoured two sausages and guzzled orange juice. Serena leisurely ate her breakfast and drunk her orange juice.

"So, what the heck are you excited about?" Kaneyama asked, eying at Eita in curiosity.

"Oh, I got hired for a job at a family entertainment center," Eita smiled ecstatically. "I will start working at 11 AM."

"That's good," Serena said. "A job should keep you out of trouble."

"Yo," Eita eyed at her annoyingly. "I'm not that bad."

"Right. Just don't hit on random girls at your job."

"Of course. I don't want to get myself fired on my first day, after all."

"Cool, man! Maybe I should visit your workplace this weekend." Kaneyama said, showing interest already.

Suzume smiled delightedly, and Tetsuya took a sip of his coffee. Soon the siblings finished their breakfast and headed back upstairs to brush their teeth and take a shower, respectively. Tetsuya's smartphone ringed as Eita gathered the dirty dishes.

After Suzume showered and blew her hair dry, she put on her new high school uniform. She gazed at her reflection on a full-body mirror, double-checking her appearance in a long-sleeved white dress shirt, a red bowtie, a red-lined black blazer, a dark grey skirt, and brown shoes. This uniform looked it belongs to a prestigious school. The only accessory that was missing was a pair of thigh-high white stockings that she recently brought, so she went to her drawer for her stockings.

After Suzume put on her stockings, she returned to the full body mirror. She checked her appearance for the last time and smiled. All she needed to do is put her hair up in low tie pigtails. Once she's done with her hair, Suzume put on her brown shoes and grabbed her school bag. She exited her bedroom, closing the door behind her, and went downstairs where Serena and Kaneyama were waiting for her.

"There you are, Suzume," Serena said, having her hand on her hip. "I was about to get you." Her eyes beamed. "Wow, you looked so cute in your new high school uniform!"

"Thanks," Suzume smiled at her, pleasingly. "Same goes for you, Serena."

Serena wore the same uniform was Suzume. The difference was that Serena was wearing thigh-high dark gray stockings and had her hair done in a half-do instead. Kaneyama wore an untucked dress shirt with a loosened necktie, underneath a unbutton red-lined black blazer, and dark grey pants with brown shoes.

"You girls look great in the uniforms." Kaneyama complimented, giving his sisters a cheerful grin. "Now, where did our father go?"

"Oh, he went out to meet a friend at a cafe." Eita walked out of the kitchen and gaped at both Serena and Suzume in joy. "You girls look gorgeous in your new uniforms!"

"Thanks." Both Serena and Suzume responded, simultaneously, feeling nervous internally about their first day at a new high school.

Before Kaneyama could ask about the address to Akademi high school, everyone heard a knock on the door. Serena opened the door and founded their neighbors in the same school uniform as them. Taro and Hanako were with a third person that she hasn't seen before.

"Hey, your father asked us to walk you three to the high school." Taro smiled politely. "So, that's why we're here."

"It will be fun!" Hanako jumped in excitement and pimped her fist. "We can give you a short tour of the town!"

Suzume looked at the third person in curiosity. An orange-haired girl with long hair in twin-tails with scrunchies, matching with her thigh-high salmon pink stockings with polka dots.

"Oh, right. This is Osana Najimi, our neighbor and childhood friend." Taro introduced.

"Nice to meet you," Osana nodded with a delighted smile.

"The name's Takeshi Kaneyama."

"My name is Serena Homura."

"And my name is Suzume Mizuno

Each adoptive sibling introduced themselves to Osana. Kaneyama grinned brightly, Serena smiled politely, and Suzume blushed slightly. The burgundy-haired girl wanted to compliment on Osana's pretty face and long hair, she felt that it'd be rude since she just barely met Osana, so she decided to hold off the compliment for now.

"We should leave now before we'd be late for classes," Serena advised. "Please lead the way to high school. We can chat more on the way."

It was a twenty eight-minute walk to Akademi high school. Along the way, Osana, Taro, and Hanako showed various places to Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume.

On the right side of the streets, there's a gas station, a pizza takes out, a laundromat, a liquor and mini-mart store, a theatre, a Chinese food restaurant, a few of houses, a public parking lot, a fast-food restaurant, a two-story apartment, and a trailer park. On the left side of the streets, there's a couple of houses, a couple of businesses, a church with a parking lot, a cafe, and a family entertainment center.

There are sidewalks of trees and street lights on the left and right streets, offering shade from the sun.

The group arrived at a wide footpath made out of light grey concrete and cement, decorated with a beige and white diamond pattern. There were four Cherry blossom trees and bushes on the left and right roads of grass. The adoptive siblings glimpsed at a school building with a large clock displaying on the top, and its entrance gate. The appearances of the school and footpath astounded Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume.

"Whoa, are you sure this is the only high school in this town?" Kaneyama questioned, widening his left eyebrow, still in surprise. "Because this school looks like a prestigious one."

"Yes, this is the only high school," Taro answered, smiling at Kaneyama.

"Fun fact, Kaneyama. This school used to be a prestigious one." Osana added, raising a finger and placed her hand on her hip, giving him a bright expression. "Until the school became a public one like eight or ten years ago."

"Technically, the school's name changed to Vicinity high school, but people still refer to the school by its original name, Akademi," Hanako added, smiling.

"Wow," Serena was awed at the explanation. "Now, I'm curious about why they changed the name and the status of the school."

"We can ask questions later, Serena," Suzume responded to her, nervously.

"Something's wrong, Suzume?" Serena looked back at her in concern. Then, she realized that some students had also arrived and given her and her siblings curious looks. "Oh, right. We should head over to the school gate."

Taro, Osana, Hanako, Kaneyama, and Suzume nodded, and they continued walking. A few male students dashed passed them, chatting about an anime, and a few female students rode their bikes on the footpath, also heading to the school building. Serena and her group walked through the gate and were greeted by a woman with blonde hair and tan skin in gym clothes.

"Good morning, Miss Najimi, Miss Yamada, and Mr. Yamada."

"Good morning, Miss Tachibana." Osana, Hanako, and Taro responded politely and bowed their heads simultaneously.

Kyoshi Tachibana, the Gym teacher of Akademi high school, turned her attention to Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume. These students must be the transfer students that the principal had informed her and the other teachers on last Friday's staff meeting. Kyoshi smiled ecstatically and introduced herself.

"Ah, you must be the new students. I'm Miss Tachibana. Welcome to Akademi high school."

"My name is Serena Homura," Serena bowed her head delightfully. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Tachibana."

"My name is Tadashi Kaneyama," Kaneyama grinned at Kyoshi cheerfully, holding his school bag over his shoulder and bowed his head quickly. "Nice to meet you, Miss Tachibana."

"And my name is Suzume Mizuno," Suzume smiled, nervously. She's standing still, holding onto her school bag. She downcasted her eyes shyly before bowing to Kyoshi. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Tachibana."

"I'm pleased to meet you all," Kyoshi responded happily and looked at Taro, Osana, and Hanako. "Mr. Yamada, Miss Najimi, and Miss Yamada, would you three be so kind and show the students the way to-"

"I will handle the task, Miss Tachibana." A feminine voice full of coolness spoken out.

Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume gazed at a black-haired girl with a ponytail approaching them. She's wearing a white and red version of the school uniform, and she has grey eyes. Her beauty dumbstruck both Serena and Suzume while Kaneyama remained insouciant. Taro, Osana, and Hanako nodded to the girl and headed inside.

"After all, it's my job as a student council member," She bowed her head to Kyoshi. "And Miss Kunahito has informed me of the new students."

"Very well. I'll leave the new students in your hands, Miss Aishi." Kyoshi smiled confidently.

"My name is Ayano Aishi," Ayano introduced to herself to Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume. The tone of her voice remained cool. Her expression lacked affection. "The historian of the Student Council. Please follow me."

Serena and Suzume did not mind having a student council member assisting them. However, Kaneyama never liked the student councils. He has always thought that a student council president and their "lackeys" would try to rule the whole school with an iron fist. It seemed like Kaneyama has been watching too much of high school anime and soap operas. Kaneyama frowned but remained silent. The group followed Ayano to the school building.

Inside of the Akademi high school building, Some students hang around on the South Wing corridor, nearby the shoe lockers. Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume changed their outdoor shoes with indoor slippers and closed their lockers.

Once they were done, Ayano continued leading the siblings to the counselor's office, taking a left turn. Suzume glanced at a bulletin wall of club posters, Serena awed in surprise at a showcase of trophies displaying next to the bulletin wall, and Kaneyama glanced at the inside of a classroom as they walked passed it.

Ayano turned right, and now they were on the West Wing, where the restrooms, stairs to the second floor, an infirmary, and the faculty room were located. They arrived at the Counselor's Office.

"Please wait outside," Ayano ordered coolly and entered the office.

"I guess she's not the friendly type," Kaneyama commented in annoyance.

"Yeah," Serena nodded in agreement, through unlike Kaneyama, she wasn't annoyed with Ayano's lack of friendliness. Instead, she was slightly curious. "Well, I'd rather not to seek the answer." She added precautiously.

"Huh?" Suzume has given Serena a perplexed look. "I'm missing something here?"

Ayano stepped outside of the office and informed the siblings that the guidance counselor was ready to see them. Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume entered the office while Ayano waited outside, checking text messages on her smartphone.

The first meeting with Miss Kunahito was a dull one. The young woman lectured about the rules and guidelines from the school handbook and worked on Serena's, Kaneyama's, and Suzume's class schedules. Miss Kunahito asked for any questions, but the siblings assured her that they'd be fine on their first day. After handing over the class schedules to the new students, Miss Kunahito ordered Ayano to take them to the student council room on the West Wing's second floor.

As the bell had ringed throughout the school building, the students break away from their usual morning routines. The students headed to their respective classes, gathering their school supplies from their lockers along the way, and chitter-chattering simultaneously.

Arriving on the second floor, several second years and third-year students froze in curiosity, and Ayano sighed in annoyance. Of course, they'd be noisy since new students were walking behind her, but Ayano paid no mind.

'They're staring at us,' Suzume thought nervously.

"Whoa, take a good look at that tall dude," A boy with emerald green hair and matching eyes color commented on Kaneyama. "He looks hella tough."

"Yeah, we wouldn't want to mess with him, man." A green-eyed boy with dark brown hair and a small goatee agreed.

Kaneyama overheard them and grinned smugly.

Compliments on hers and Suzume's physical appearances from some male students displeased Serena. She did not transfer to this high school to be flirted on. She wasn't interested in dating right now and did not care about having a boyfriend for the sake of fitting in with a crowd of couples.

Suzume blushed slightly at the compliments though, still too nervous to respond, and continued following Ayano and her siblings, keeping her head down. Because she was too flustered by the compliments and the stares to watch her surroundings, Suzume bumped into a third-year male student by accident.

"Ah, I'm sorry!" She quickly apologized and bowed to him.

"..."

Suzume received no response from the student. She figured that he wasn't the talkative type. She hurried to her siblings and Ayano. Serena eyed at Suzume and asked what happened back there, but Suzume chuckled and told her not to worry about it.

"If you say so," Serena acknowledged Suzume's answer to her question and continued following Ayano. "Still, stay close to us."

"Okay..."

Kaneyama was too exasperated to care about what happened with Suzume back there. Why he and his siblings have to meet with the rest of the student council members? Was it a tradition for a new student? If so, Kaneyama thought that it was a stupid tradition. He just wanted to get his first day over with, so he can go home and relaxed.

'This is so fucking lame. Just get me to my first class already.'

Megami Saikou, the current student council president, was absent today, so Kuroko Kamenaga greeted and welcomed Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume to the school and introduced herself and her fellow student council members, Akane Toriyasu, Shiromi Torayoshi, Aoi Ryogoku, and Kiyoko Tatsuhara, to the new students and explained their roles in the student council in Megami's place.

Serena noticed that Ayano remained poker-faced during the introduction.

"Yo, I got a question to ask," Kaneyama spoken out in a snappy tone. "When can we go to class? I want to get this day over with."

Serena narrowed her eyes at Kaneyama annoyingly. Suzume was too focused, checking out the student council room to glance at Kaneyama's direction.

"Oooh, someone's impatient," Shiromi smiled at Kaneyama, cheekily.

"Shiromi," Kuroko eyed at her sternly. Then, she returned the same look at Kaneyama. "I'll let your attitude off the hook for once, Mr. Kaneyama. Now, Shiromi." She glanced at the white-haired girl. "You may now show Mr. Kaneyama to his class."

"Wait, Miss Kunahito advised us to meet with the principal," Serena said.

"I just received a call from the principal. He will not be here today."

"Hmph, how typical of him," Aoi muttered.

Fortunately for Aoi, Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume did not hear her complain.

"Oh well, looks like your meeting with Mr. Shuyona has been postponed until tomorrow! Now, let's go to class and learn about superheroes!" Kiyoko raised her fist up cheerfully.

The adoptive siblings just widened their eyes at Kiyoko in a daze. Kuroko facepalmed, Akane smiled brightly, Shiromi chuckled, and Aoi muttered something in an annoyed tone. They knew about Kiyoko's love for superheroes, but she should keep her interests and hobbies separated from school life.

"Okay...?" Serena blinked. "Very well. Please lead us to our classes."

"I also love superheroes!" Suzume's eyes suddenly glimmered in excitement. "Please tell me your favorite series!"

"Eh?" Serena turned her eyes at her little sister in surprise.

"Finally, I found someone who shared the same passion as me!" Kiyoko held Suzume's clasping hands and gazed into her eyes. "Let us be good friends forever."

"That's enough, Kiyoko, Miss Mizuno," Kuroko ordered.

'The white-haired chick is giving me the creeps with that smile of hers.' Kaneyama thought as he shivered at Shiromi's amusing stare at him. 'I'd better not fool around in front of her."

10: 08 AM: Break Time.

Serena, Kaneyama, and Suzume meet up with Taro, Hanako, Osana, and her best friend, Raibaru Fumetsu, at a water fountain located on the Southwest side of the school outside. Just a few minutes ago, the adoptive siblings were bombarded with random questions from some of their homeroom classmates.

"So, Suzume! How do you like school so far?

"Fine, I guess."

"Me too! Our teacher was so kind as to let you sit next to me!"

"Yeah."

Serena smiled. Hanako and Suzume were getting along well for being neighbors and classmates. The younger girls headed towards the Gardening Club's area. Taro chatted happily with Kaneyama about an upcoming novel series while Kaneyama politely listened to him, despite his dislike towards books. Serena, Osana, and Raibaru discussed martial arts.

"Yeah. I was taught self-defense at a young age." Serena stated, honestly.

"I guess there's no need for you to join the martial arts club." Raibaru giggled.

"I don't have a strong opinion on martial arts," Osana admitted. "But, it's good to know self-defense skills. Don't want to feel so defenseless in case you'd encountered a total creep." Osana added in disgust.

"Well, there's nothing for you to worry about that creep now, Osana. Miss Aishi had saved your cat's life from him, and he's now behind bars."

"Yeah, you're right, Raibaru."

Serena was surprised to hear Ayano had helped Osana in the past. From her first expression of Ayano, she thought the dark-gray-haired as an apathetic girl. As the group arrived at the Gardening club where they founded Hanako and Suzume on their knees, admiring a flower bed, Serena gazed up at the bright blue sky.

'I suppose I should not judge a person's personality by my first impression of their facial expressions.'

Two classes later, it was finally lunchtime. The adoptive siblings followed Osana, Raibaru, and Hanako to an outdoor cafeteria building. Taro decided to eat lunch with his friends, Toga Tabara and Kyuji Kanogawa, off-campus today. There's a long line of students waiting inside of the building, and some tables were already half-fulled. Some students brought their own lunches from home and ate at the table benches outside. Since Osana and Raibaru preferred their homemade bento boxes, they went to claim a spot outdoor while Hanaka spoke about a popular anime series titled Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki.

"Meh, anime isn't really my thing," Kaneyama admitted distastefully. "I'm more like a fighting-style gamer." He grinned proudly and thumb-pointed at himself.

"Cool! The gaming club is a perfect fit for you, Mr. Kaneyama!"

"Same with me. I'm neutral with anime." Serena added her opinion, giving Hanako a smile. "I'm more into dancing, singing, and guitar playing."

"Wow! You should check out the Light music club, Miss Homura. It'd be a better fit for you!"

"You think?" Serena felt flustered with Hanako's suggestion. "I've seen the club's post on the bulletin broad earlier, but I didn't think about it at the time..."

"Yeah!" Hanako's eyes glimmered with hope. "I'm sure you will do great with a guitar!" Hanako turned her head towards Suzume. "How about you? Have you decided to join a club yet?"

"No," Suzume laughed awkwardly, waving her hands. "I'm not really good at anything."

"Oh, come on. You gotta be good at something!"

Serena and Kaneyama knew Suzume dealt with self-esteem issues from a young age. It was sad for the older siblings to see their youngest one being so downhearted. As the lunch line got shorter, the group paused on their chatting and grabbed their lunches, and went outside to eat with Osana and Raibaru.

1: 15 PM. 5th period: Suzume's PE class.

Inside of a gymnasium, Suzume sat on a chair, watching her PE teammates played dodge ball. Since she did not have gym clothes, she wasn't allowed to participate today. She glimpsed at a saddened girl with light brown hair, sitting on the floor and leaning against the wall, having her arms wrapped around her knees. Suzume approached the girl.

"Hello, are you okay?"

"Oh, yes." The girl looked up at Suzume, giving her a weak smile. "I'm just too emotionally drained to play dodge ball."

"I'm sorry to hear it," Suzume gazed at her empathically. "I know how it feels." She sat next to the girl. "So, what is your name?"

"Minami Obuchi."

"It's nice to meet you, Miss Obuchi. My name is Suzume Mizuno."

"Same..."

Suzume and Minami watched the dodge ball game in silence. She brainstormed a few ideas to chat with Minami to cheer her up. By the time she thought of one, her PE class already ended, and both girls stood up, heading outside.

"Miss Mizuno."

"Yes?"

"Thanks...for looking out for me. I...appreciative it."

"It's no problem."

Rumor has it that Kinshiro Morooka, also known as King Moron to his Study hall students, and the class that he instructed was full of shenanigans, rebelliousness, and troubled students. Suzume overheard the rumor from a few classmates before lunchtime, concerning her because she's in that study hall class, according to her class schedule. Of course, she disclaimed it as she believed that Miss Kunahito has no reason to put her in a dysfunctional classroom. Besides, Suzume felt she needed the Study Hall class to seek help with her homework from the teacher or her classmates.

'...'

Suzume just stood in the middle of the corridor with a blank expression. She only has three minutes left until the tardy bell, and she has no idea where her last class was located at. She told Serena between classes that she'd be fine without her help. There were few students around, putting things into their lockers, but Suzume was too embarrassed to ask for help.

'I'm screwed.'

"Hey, new girl. You're going to be late."

A male voice startled Suzume. She turned her head slowly at him anxiously. Oh, great. He's thinking that she's a ditz now. However, Suzume kinda recognized him. He's Sho Kunihida from her last period class, which was history. She recalled him being a member of the Martial arts club. The white bandana with writings and red sun wrapped around his head was the proof.

"Oh, wait. Are you lost?" He raised his right eyebrow at her in concern.

"Yes..."

Suzume pointed at the class that she was supposed to be in right now on her class schedule. Should she also ask him if the rumor about the Study hall class was true? Probably not. She's still new to this school so, she has no business to poke her curious nose into any rumor right now.

"Hey, I'm in the same study hall class as you. What a coincidence!" Sho chuckled. "Worry not. I shall lead you to safely!" He grinned and thumb-pointed at himself.

"But, I'm not in danger." Suzume once again has a blank expression.

"I know. I just feel saying it. Anyway, I'll lead you the way. Let's go before-"

Suddenly, the tardy bell had ringed throughout the school. Both Sho and Suzume has become pale.

"Oh shit!"

"Waaaaaaah!'

When Suzume and Sho arrived at their studying hall classroom, Mr. Norooka lowered at them. Osana, Hanako, Toga, Kyuji, Riku Shitomi, Ryusei Aosaka, Unagi Denkashiza, Beruma Dinkuri, Boru Sadatoshi, Gema Takagaki, Hoshiko Mizudori, and Minami paused on their homework and turned their attention on her and Sho. Suzume just smiled awkwardly at Osana and Hanako.

"You'd better have a good excuse for your tardiness, Kunikida!" Mr. Norooka scolded.

"I'm sorry, sir," Sho scratched the back of his head. "The new girl needed my help."

"Hmm?" Mr. Norooka glanced at a stern look at Suzume.

"Yes?" Suzume startled, thinking that her study hall teacher looked like a hamster because of his teeth.

"Find yourself a seat and be quick about it!" Then, Mr. Norooka turned around and glared at the boys. "And don't you perverts even think about hitting on the new girl!" With that, he walked back to his desk, grumbling about the attitude of teenagers these days.

Suzume sighed and approached an empty desk between Osana and Hanako, and Sho went to his desk. Everyone else returned to their studies.

"Don't mind him, Suzume." Hanako smiled, patting on Suzume's shoulder. "Mr. Norooka is a good teacher. He's just too old fashioned and doesn't like troublemakers."

"I see..."

"Good luck with this class, Suzume," Osana told her in an annoyed tone. "This class has a reputation for its rowdiness."

"Wait, what?"

Suddenly, a yellow-haired boy slid in, raising his arms out horizontally, with a goofy expression on his face.

"Magical Girl Pretty Miyuki!"

"I thought Miyuki did a different pose, dude." A red-haired boy with a silver earring on his left ear entered the classroom.

"You're late, Komura, Akamiya!" Mr. Norooka scolded. "Detention after school!"

"Yo!" A friend of Haruto and Sota also entered the classroom, laughing.

"You too, Morita!"

"Yay!" Hayato Morita responded in a fake exciting tone, heading towards a table where his friends, Riku and Ryusei, were studying at. Haruto and Sota also joined them.

"What's crackin', my friends!?" A blond-haired boy with spiky hair walked in, grinning.

"Hey, you, the one on my shit list!" Mr. Norooka quickly rosed and approaching the fourth late student, carrying a piece of paper. "What is this!? He showed a funny drawing of himself to the blonde's face. "Explain yourself, Sakamoto!"

"Huh?" Ryuji Sakamoto squinted at the drawing in confusion for a second. Then, he frowned at Mr. Norooka. "I didn't draw that shit!"

"Don't lie to me, boy! I know you did!"

"Did I?" Ryuji eyed at his classmates, teasingly.

Everyone but, Ryusei, Riku, Osana, Suzume, and Beruma laughed, getting rather amused than disappointed by the situation. Mr. Norooka's face was now red with anger from the humiliation.

"You're staying after school for detention along with those other brats!" He pointed at Hayato, Haruto, and Sota, who was giving him teasing looks.

"Whatever, King Moron." Ryuji shrugged at him and went to his desk, which it was by Sho's.

And finally, a cyan-haired boy with a stoic expression walked into the classroom. Mr. Norooka scowled at the last tardy student, and the latter just ignored him.

"One more brat to add to the detention list." Mr. Norooka grumbled.

"And this is why this class has such a reputation, Suzume." Osana had finally spoken out after a moment of silence.

"Yeah..." Hanako agreed, giving Suzume a smile. "But, we can still get homework done before we get home! That's a good thing about this class!"

Suzume did not respond to Osana or Hanako. Her mind was still processing from what she has just witnessed. So, the rumor may be true, after all. Her study hall teacher had an unprofessional tone towards his students and a "shit" list, and a few of her classmates being goofy. But the atmosphere of her classroom didn't look that bad to her at all.

'Maybe the rumor was just an exaggeration.'

"Hey, Sora. Was the new girl the one who bumped into you this morning?"

"Eh!?" Hayato's voice startled Suzume, getting her attention to the table where the cyan-haired boy just given his friend an apathetic look. Then, he locked eyes on Suzume's for a second. Then, he turned his eyes back at Hayato. "I guess." He added phlegmatically.

"..."

Sora Mizukawa's cold attitude towards his new classmate had become an unsetting experience for the girl herself. Suzume felt so flustered that she quickly took out a book and hid her face for the rest of the class period. Osana chatted with Sho and Ryuji while Hanako patted on Suzume's back comfortably.

4: 18 PM.

After classes and cleaning time, Serena and Suzume met up in front of the bulletin board. Taro, Osana, and Hanako had gone to the Gardening club while Kaneyama had gone home early despite Serena's protest. Suzume had a flustered expression, and that expression alone concerned Serena.

"Are you okay, Suzume?"

"Well, I think I may have made a wrong expression on someone."

"You did?"

"Forget it, Serena. Let's check out the clubs."

"Okay, if you say so."

6: 30 PM

Tetsuya, Eita, and Kaneyama had returned home in the evening. Suzume was in her bedroom, playing her favorite visual novel in a gaming handheld console while Serena was preparing dinner. She set up the table as Eita entered the kitchen, giving her a grin. Serena paused and raised her eyebrow at him, wondering what the heck was he grinning about.

"Did you get yourself a girlfriend?"

"Meh, I got rejected by four cuties at my job today."

"I see. I'm surprised that you haven't been fired yet for flirting with your coworkers."

"The cuties were the customers at my job, so I'm still working. You, Kaneyama, and Suzume should check out my workplace this weekend."

"We'll see."

Serena returned to finish dinner as Eita took a seat at the table after grabbing a soda from the refrigerator and opened it. Tetsuya and Kaneyama entered the kitchen and sat down, waiting for their dinner. As Serena was about to ask her father about his day, she gasped at Kaneyama. Her younger brother had a head bandage, an arm bandage, and an adhesive bandage on his nose. She slammed her hands on the table.

"What the hell happened to you, Takeshi!?"

"Save the life of a young girl from buncha creeps in an alley, Serena," Kaneyama folded his arms and glared at his older sister. "That's all. I know you're pissed at me for not staying out of trouble, and I know what you're about to say to me; I should have called the police, right? Well, fuck that."

"Father!" Serena called out to Tetsuya in an upset tone.

"It's fine, Serena. I've already scolded Takeshi." Tetsuya raised his hand up and smiled at her. "Now, let's talk about your first day at your new school. Wait, where's Suzume?"

"It was fine. How was your day, father?" Suzume entered the kitchen. "Well," She showed him a permission ship to her father. "I want to join the school's cooking club. I know I do suck at cooking and so, therefore, I want to learn from my peers. Please, father, I beg you." Suzume bowed, hopefully. "The details are on the paper if you're in doubt."

"Of course, I will let you join." Tetsuya smiled at her affectionally. "I will read the details after dinner."

Suzume had a bright smile on her face. Serena still hasn't decided to join the Light Music club. She did tell the Club leader, Miyuji Shibakoya, that she'd let her know by Friday.

"Takeshi, have you decided to join a club?" Suzume asked in curiosity.

"Meh, did I tell you that clubs aren't suitable for me?" Kaneyama sighed, resting his chin on his hand. "Fighting games are the only genre that I am good at. There's no point for me to join the Gaming Club."

"But, joining a club will keep you out of trouble, Takeshi..."

"Hmph. So much for having faith in me, ya?"

"I got a good idea!" Eita offered. "How about you help me with my job after school? You can play fighting games there!"

"No, thanks. I'd rather not see you making out with girls, ya fool."

"Hey!"

'Maybe I should start practicing my guitar.' Serena thought, thinking about the Light Music Club.

8: 55 PM

Inside a dark basement, a red-haired girl sat in front of six computer monitors. Earlier, she has hacked on the school's main computer and collected the information on the new students. However, before she could read it, Shiromi emerged from the shadows. The red-haired girl scowled at the treasurer of the student council.

"What do you need, Torayoshi?"

"Aww, don't be like that~" Shiromi grinned, approaching the red-headed, and took a peek at the computer screen over her shoulder. "Now, now Info-chan, what reason do you have for researching the three new students? Hmm~?"

"None of your business." Info-chan, whose real name was Honaka, snapped at Shiromi. "Please leave. You don't have no business to be here."

"You're no fun."

"Hey, Torayoshi," Yui Akahara spoke out behind the door. "We gotta go."

"You got lucky, my dear Info-Chan. Best of luck~" Shiromi whispered to Honaka's ear before leaving.

Honaka ignored Shiromi and kept her eyes glued to the computer screen.

'Hmm. I see,' Honaka smirked. 'It looks like this year will be an interesting one. After all, some of us aren't the only ones with police connections.'

End of Chapter 1

Author's Notes:

-Yoooooooo! Do you think that I've given up on this crossover fanfiction? Hell no! I've planned some stuff already since 2017 lmao. The rainbow students are given actual surnames by me, I'm using some of the real names/surnames from the Yandere Simulator canon. This takes place in an alternate universe that has nothing to do with Ayano killing her rivals for Taro through some stuff from the rivals' canon is still used here. Some YanSim characters may or may not even appear in this crossover fanfiction because there are already too many characters for me to keep track of.

-The only surname that I've struggled with the most was Sora's because the color "Cyan" doesn't exist in the Japanese language I could be wrong and "Mizu" was the closest thing to "Cyan", similar to how YandereDev gave Mizudori as a surname for Hoshiko. So, there are three Mizus at Akademi high lmaooo.. Besides, Mizukawa as Sora's surname has stick to me like glue the most. Sure, I could have used "Ao" since it means green and blue, but I like "Aosaka" better for Ryusei. Ah, yes, I added the hypothetical student council member because I loved her design, okay?

-Honaka is my fanmade given name to Info-chan. Hon means "root, origin, source" which it kinda fits since Info-chan is a "source" and Aka means "Red", associated to her hair color.

- Yes, "King Moron" is the same "King Moron" from Persona 4. What the heck he is doing teaching at Akademi high? XD Well, I just added him for the comedy :D Ryuji from Persona 5 is also attending Akademi high along with Ann who hasn't made an appearance yet. Please note that I haven't played any of the persona games. I only watched the walkthroughs by THAT DUDE aka Jay from Kubz Scouts on youtube :D. Hopefully, I did not make the Persona characters too OOC.

-Originally, this chapter has 6,032 words. Holy shit. But, It went down to 5, 988 words.

This is just the beginning. There's more come! I don't know when the next chapter will be out. Hopefully, it isn't once in a year thing. -_-

Well, see y'all!
