Thanksgiving: The Fox And The Boy

While on Thanksgiving vacation with the family at his Grandmother's house in Trofte-Minnesota, Cameron, his pup, Mickey, and his two cousins encounter a boy who has run away from home with his pet Fox to keep it from being killed and made into a Thanksgiving meal by his stepfather, the sheriff. And they soon find themselves hiding the boy and fox out at Cam's Grandma's place.

16. T15: Family Dinner

T15: Family Dinner.

That night, the entire family, and Dustin, were all sitting at the long white cloth-covered dinner table in the dining-room, eating food from BLUEFIN GRILLE Monica ordered and had delivered to the house. The food on the table was that of fried shrimp, fried fish, chicken-stripes, grilled shrimp, lobster tails, salmon and french fries. The glasses were filled with ice and tea. Lulu and Dustin were among the family at the table, having returned from the movie theater.

Mickey stood on the floor and ate some fried shrimp out of his red dog-bowl.

"So every year, my Grandpa use to make the same exact speech over and over. And then my Dad and three uncles, they use to all make fun of him and do the same thing. Then he'd get really mad." Dustin said.

"Hahahahaha!" Everyone, minus Brooklyn, burst out laughing.

"Oh, my peaches, Dustin, you are so funny. Isn't he, Brooklyn?" Alice said.

Brooklyn, however, didn't answer.

"I guess you had to be there." Dustin said.

"Brook, you okay?" Monica asked.

"Yeah. I was just wondering...why did Dante choose to work on the week of Thanksgiving?" Brooklyn said.

"Yeah, why did he choose to work on Thanksgiving week, Lulu?" Sky asked.

"Uh, i just love the old Thanksgiving traditions, don't you, Lulu?" Olivia asked, trying to change the subject.

"Yeah. Like making new people feel judged and then welcomed. Kind of commemorates how the settlers in the new world ended up trading the native Americans." Lulu said.

"Back off, you two. Not that what you're saying about the native Americans isn't true, but...Sorry." Brooklyn said.

"Could i see you for a minute, Brooklyn?" Olivia asked.

"Sure." Brooklyn said. before she and Olivia got up from the table and began exiting the dining-room.

"I'll go with you." Alice said. "Excuse us." She said before getting up from the table and following Alice out of the dining-room.

"I'm right behind ya." Tracy added before she got up from the table and followed after Alice, closing the door behind her.

"What's that about?" Dustin asked.

Cameron, Leo and Rocco all shrugged their hands and shoulders.
