"Gently now," Acid says, watching as Dox slowly attempts to pour a liquid from the beaker his magic his holder onto a metallic looking rock in another beaker sitting on the table. "If you add to much you'll cause an…." But is was already too late by the time he had tried to warn Dox. The little changeling had added to much of the liquid, causing the liquid inside the beaker to start to boil.
"Oh no," Dox responds as he places the beaker he was holder down onto the table.
"Duck!" Acid yells, ducking down onto the ground with Dox next to him. Acid wraps his arms over Dox's head and holds him tight to his chest as the beaker explodes. Sending out glass in all directions.
"Sorry," Dox says, looking up at Acid.
"It's all right," Acid says, standing up. "It's not the first beaker that's exploded in this lab," Acid says as he teleports in a broom and dustpan. "To be frank, an exploding beaker is a kind of right of passage for chemists," Acid says as he sweeps up the glass around them.
"What happened in here?" Moon asks as she opens the door into the lab.
"Mom!" Dox happily jumps over the glass and runs over to Moon.
"He blew up a beaker," Acid says as Dox and Moon exchange a big hug.
"That explains the glass," Moon replies, looking down at Dox.
"I added acid a bit to quickly to a basic salt," Dox explains as he pulls away from the hug.
"That doesn't sound good," Moon replies as Acid dumps the glass into a bright red bucket in the corner of the room.
"It causes the base to release so much energy and ends up breaking the bottom of the beaker," Acid explains as he walks over to the two.
"Oh," Moon replies with a look of genuine curiosity.
"Not that I mind you being here," Acid says as he hugs Moon. Moon hugs him back as he continues speeking. "But why are you here?" Acid pulls away and looks up at Moon.
"Celestia wants you in the throne room," Moon explains, jerking her head a bit behind her in the direction of the throne room.
"What for?" Acid asks, tilting his head a bit to the side in confusion.
"She didn't tell me," Moon replies, averting her eyes to the ground for a moment before looking back at Acid with a small smile. "But the way she said it, it sounds like a good thing,"
"Another promotion?!" Dox asks, looking up at Moon with a big smile.
"I doubt it," Acid replies, smiling down at the little changeling. "She has already got me at Scientific adviser. How much higher can I get?" Acid asks, shruging his shoulders.
"You better go see," Moon replies, gesturing to the door behind her. "I'll stay here with Dox,"
"Don't blow up the lab," Acid says, looking down at Dox as he walks over to the door.
"No promesses," Dox replies with a cheeky smile.
"That's my boy," Acid replies with a smile before opening the door and walking into the hallway. Moon rolls her eyes as Dox chuckles.
Acid walks down the hallway towards the throne room when he spots a purple alicorn turning down the hallway across from him and turning towards him. "Twilight!?" Acid asks before he galoups over to her.
"Hi Acid," Twilight says with a big smile. "What are you up to?"
"I'm heading to the throne room," Acid explains as the two walk down the hallway.
"Oh," Twilight responds looking away from him.
"What are you doing here in Canterlot?" Acid asks, tilting his head a bit to the side.
"I'm just… visiting," Twilight smiles awkwardly as she looks over at him.
"You're a bad liar," Acid responds as he stops in frount of the hallway that leads to the throne room. "Why are you really here for?"
"I.. au… Bye!" Twilight stumbals on her words before teleporting away in a flash of purple light.
"OOOkkkkaaayyyy…" Acid says, looking at where Twilight had been with so many questions in his mind. "That was weird, but not out of character," Acid says, walking down the hallway towrds the big double doors with the guards waiting for him by ether side of the doors. The unicorn lights her horn and slowly opens the door without questioning him. Acid smiles and nods at her beofre walking into the long throne room.
His eyes widen a bit to see Celestia and Luna on the throne together. Siting on luna's left is Twilight fidgeting in her seat while averting her eyes from Acid. Sitting on Celestia's right is Princess Cadence. "What the," Acid thinks as he walks up to the steps of the thrones.
"Good evening Princesses," Acid says, bowing before the four mares before rising back up. "What do I owe the summoning of all four of you?" Acid asks, tilting his head as he raises an eyebrow.
"I've called them here for help," Celestia explains.
"We descuded a posable new position," Luna replies.
"And we came to a decision to let put you into the new role," Cadence interjects.
"What?" Acid replies with confution in his voice.
"What they mean," Twilight says as she stands up and walks to the edg of the stairs to looks down at him better. "Is we have decided to promot you to a new position," Twilight takes a deep breath before rambling out, "We promot you to The Head of The Scientifice Comunity of Equestran Chemestry and Mechanical Engineering," Twilight takes a deep breath back in before returning back to normal.
"What does that even mean," Acid replies before adding. "You really need to rename that,"
"It's a bit long," Twilight admits. "But to answer your question," Twilight sighs before continuing. "You would become the head of all scientific companies in Equestria. Kinda like a govenor but just for science. You can make rules and regulations that the companies would then have to fallow."
Acid looks around at the Princesses in genuine confusion as he process the information through his head. "So…" Acid starts, "Did you just make me the Prince of Science?" Acid asks, looking up at Twilight.
"If you must put it so bluntly," Twilight responds, gritting her teeth a bit. "Yes, you basically have the same powers and responsibilities as any of us, but it's limited to the Science community,"
"W-what?" Acid replies. "Why?"
"We have seen science spred out since you becoming a cabinet member," Luna explains. "We just thought it would be wise to make a higher up before it was too late,"
"We picked you because we know you would never abuse the power," Twilight explains with a little smile on her face.
"So," Celestia says, raising an eyebrow. "Do you except?"
"No," Acid bluntly states. Catching Twilight off guard and surprising Cadence.
"Told ya," Luna wispears to Celestia.
"Why not?!" Twilight asks with destress in her voice.
"Wait for it," Celestia responds to Luna.
"Because that's to much power for one pony to have," Acid responds back. "Besides, I'm not the right pony,"
"Not the right pony!?" Twilight reponds with great confusion. "You are the smartest, most kind, and humble pony I know," Twilight says before adding. "Well, humble would have to go to Applejack but the rest of my points still stand.
"Twilight, I know that," Acid responds. "But I can't in good faith take the position," Acid explains. "I'm happy were I'm at right now. Please, pick someone els,"
Twilight goes to open her mouth before Celestia stops her. "Twilight," She says sternly. Twilight knods before returning back to her seat next to luna. "We understand why you do not want to accept,"
"Thank you," Acid responds, bowing a bit before stratening up again.
"The position will always be open if you want it," Celestia responds.
"I do have one question about the position before I go," Acid says, looking up at Celestia. She knods, gustering for him to go on. "Would it be all right if I would have to pass everything I do through you?" Acid asks.
"Like what?" Luna asks.
"Like if I make regulations, I would pass them by you first before they go into effect," Acid explains.
"If that's what you want," Celestia responds with a little smile.
"I mean, I could even have my own little cabinet," Acid replies, combing his hoof through his hair as the gears start turning in his head.
"That would make managing the companies better if you had ponies from different parts of Equestria report back to you," Twilight add.
"Ya," Acid replies with a smile. "You know what. Yes, I'll do it," Acid smiles up at Celestia. Celestia smile down before nodding.
"I pronounce you Prince, of Science," Celestia lets out a little giggle as she see Twilight get a bit angry out of the corner of her eye.
"I won't let you down," Acid replies before turning around and running out of the room in excitement.
"I know you won't," Celestia whispers to herself with a big smile forming on her face as she watches him run out of the room.
