Oki Mariner (Night)
"I see them!" Sirius said, pointing to a rock formation not far from their boat. "They're hiding in the shadow of Double Rock! Cut the engine and try to find one of their blind spots!" she told one of her crewmates. "Froppy, Mountain King, you're with me."
"Aye aye." Dominic and Asui said together. They, along with Sirius and the crewmate, scaled the rock formation until they could see the enemy ship. Standing on the deck was someone with an octopus face and a yellow rain jacket.
"Froppy, can you deal with the guard?" Sirius asked. The girl nodded and used her tongue to restrain the guard and bring them to the formation. Before the guard could realize what had happened, their mouth was covered by Sirius' hand. "If you don't answer our questions, we'll have to get rough with you." The heroine pointed upwards, where one of Dominic's fireballs was positioned. The heat coming off the attack was enough to scare the guard into telling them everything. After getting what they needed, they tied the guard up and gagged their mouth.
Soon after, the group boarded the enemy ship. "There's only one person on the boat. He's hiding in a cabin." Sirius told the crewmate, who walked toward the cabin slowly.
"I'll drag him out!" he said. But before he could do anything else, a jet of glowing purple ink splatted his face, blinding him. He was then swatted away with a large purple tentacle with glowing crystals growing out of it. The impact of the blow sent him flying into the rocks and knocked him out cold.
While Asui and Sirius were worried about the crewmate's well-being, Dominic could only think about the attacks that were just used. 'That wasn't an ordinary Quirk.' he thought to himself, turning to where the attacks originated. The eerie purple glow brought back memories of something far more dangerous than a simple villain.
"Get out of the way!" Dominic yelled to his teammates as a beam of purple energy surged toward him. Bringing out Scarlet Showstopper, he parried the attack, sending bolts of purple lightning crashing into the surroundings.
"Froppy, Mountain King, run away!" Sirius yelled shortly before a purple tentacle grabbed her by the waist.
"Argh, this is starting to get on my nerves." a man with an octopus face said as his tentacles held tightly onto Sirius. "But heroes like you never give up, do they?" The villain glared at Asui and Dominic, his eyes glowing purple. "Argh, a couple of kids are supposed to stop me. How cute."
"Asui, you have to get out of here right now." Dominic whispered to his classmate.
"Ah, ah, ah, not so fast!" the villain shouted, squeezing his captive until her ribs were cracking. "Not unless you want your friend to die a slow death!"
Sirius, in an attempt to save her interns, took an electric baton out of her bag and tried hitting the villain with it. The strike landed, only for the electricity to do almost nothing. 'What!?'
"Argh, you think you're so smart, do you?" the villain said, slowly turning his head to the sonar hero. "Let's see how you like THIS!" Raising the tentacle holding Sirius, the villain slammed it into Double Rock, severely injuring his captive and obliterating one of the rock formations.
"SIRIUS!" Asui shouted, horrified.
"This is why I asked you to run." Dominic said, getting into a fighting stance. "Those crystals on his body aren't natural. They're augmenting his Quirk and making him more aggressive."
"Is that even possible?" the frog girl asked, still worried about Sirius.
"Yeah. What I want to know is how this guy managed to come across enough to enough to fully Evilize him." Dominic said. It took a substantial amount of Petrified Darkness to completely overtake a human, and he was under the impression that none existed in this world. If random villains were finding it, then heroes and villains all over the planet were in danger.
"Argh, enough yapping!" the villain yelled, the crystals on his body generating black lightning. The energy surged across the battlefield, forcing Dominic and Asui to dodge by jumping onto one of the nearby rock formations. "Time to get rid of you pests!"
"Xiao-Long, I'm not going to run." Asui told her classmate. "I can't be a hero if I run from the first sign of danger. I'm helping you."
"Ugh, of course you are." Dominic said, sighing. "If you want to help, find Sirius and get her somewhere safe. I can handle this idiot."
"Argh, not too smart of you to tell me your plan." the villain said, turning to face Dominic.
"It doesn't matter." the boy said, grinning under his mask. "Evilized or not, no villain in this world can match my power."
"Cocky brat." the villain scoffed. "I'll make you eat those words, you damn kid!" Tentacles covered in purple crystals shot out of the man's back, stretching all over the sparse battlefield.
'An all-out attack straight from the start. Just my luck.' Dominic thought to himself, spawning a ring of fireballs around him and spinning them at high speeds. The tentacles that got too close were blown to pieces. Unfortunately, the cephalopod nature of his opponent meant that he quickly recovered from the explosions.
"Argh! Why did that hurt so much?" the villain asked himself as red tissue appeared in place of the now destroyed purple skin. "And what happened to my new power?"
'Looks like he can't regenerate the Petrified Darkness in his body.' Dominic observed. 'If I can shatter all the crystals, he'll likely pass out from the energy leaving his body all at once.'
A blast of energy headed towards the Knight, prompting him to defend himself with a summoned slab of rock. The lightning strike turned the stone to rubble as soon as it made contact. To the villain's surprise, however, his opponent was nowhere to be seen after the slab was destroyed.
"Peek-a-" Dominic's voice said from all around the villain. "BOOM!" From all sides, beams of energy shot at the Evilized man, striking him with the force of a bomb blast. When the attack ended, Dominic jumped out of a hole in the ground. 'I just hit him with eight of my Special Attacks and he's still standing. Impressive, but annoying.'
"ARGH! Why is this brat's Quirk so powerful!?" the villain screamed. "I'LL CRUSH YOU!" His coat tore open, and hundreds of needle-like tentacles were shot at Dominic, piercing through his armor and cutting through his limbs and torso. Even the boy's volcanic blood was nothing to the Petrified Darkness coating the tentacles.
'My body is riddled with stinging pain.' Dominic thought to himself, immobilized by the dark substance. Inside, his body was blazing with blue-hot fire, and on the outside, his Aura was breaking the stones around him to pieces. "Let go of me. LET GO OF ME!" he yelled, blowing half of Double Rock apart with his Aura alone.
"Is this Xiao-Long's Quirk?" Asui wondered aloud as she hid behind a rock with Sirius' unconscious body. While she couldn't see what was happening, she could feel the same fiery energy she felt in the USJ.
The Petrified Darkness stabbed into Dominic's body was obliterated after being subjected to his Aura, along with the tentacles it was attached to. "Human, Monster, Hero, Villain. No matter who it is, I will not allow myself to be defeated before I reach my dream!" As he spoke, the holes in his armor mended, and flames danced around him. "Remember the name of this attack, because I'll only show it to you once!" Pressing his arms to the ground, the Knight produced an explosion under himself, rocketing his body into the air.
"What the heck is happening!?" Asui said, looking at the blur of golden light that rose higher and higher into the air.
"Argh, you think a height advantage means anything to me?" the villain scoffed. "Have you forgotten that my Quirk reaches farther than yours!?" He stretched his Evilized tentacles into the air, trying to grab the blonde. As they drew closer, some of them burned away due to the immense heat Dominic's body was producing.
Once he reached the apex of his jump, Dominic looked down at his opponent. "I'll blow those crystals away with one attack!" Raising his hand above his head, the boy channeled as much fire energy as he could into one orb of pure destruction. "Purgatory Blast!"
"What!?" the villain shouted, fearful after seeing the giant attack hurtling towards him. "I can't defend myself from something like that! Dammit!" After a few moments, the fireball crashed into Double Rock, blowing the entire battlefield sky high.
Dominic landed on one of the few pieces of terrain left above water. "It's a good thing I had enough strength left to make a Portal for the others. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to use Purgatory Blast at full strength." He looked towards the villain, now reverted back to his normal self. "As for him, it's lucky he didn't get more power than he did from the Petrified Darkness. If he had a larger body, things could've ended badly."
"But how did he wind up Evilized? If it's who I think it is, we're in a lot of trouble."
Petrified Darkness
Evil given physical form. Anything corrupted by this crystalline substance will become an agent of evil, thinking only of destruction while gaining an incredible amount of power. Even beings belonging to the Dark Element are not safe from its influence.
