Maos, a young sorcerer who didn't even finish his training because of the end of the world (caused by Salem when she was punished by the gods ), survived thanks to his mentor a powerful wizard, now Moas is lost in this new world that is a remnant, thankfully, he still has his magic and the book of magic to achieve his training. (ship may come later in the story]

13. Chapter 12: the god of light's plan

Adam Taurus, a member of the white fang, his violent behavior toward humans is sometimes unjustified, no one really knows why he's not the only faunus with a deep hatred toward humans. his will is stronger than most and he seems to be ready to do literally anything that means the suffering of the human

what is a fact that all white Fang members and anyone who encountered Adam and survived know? He is strong, and his skills are way above your regular huntsman one in the white Fang can match him, and so far he has yet to find someone who can truly fight and defeated him.

it's been a minute since Maos and Adam start fighting, they both kept swinging their sword at each other, Maos could match adam's speed using 3rd level wild magic on his body.

however a strong from adam made maos go in the air and he landed inside the camp, around Maos, the workers were seeing fighting the white fang member the best they could and they mostly tried to avoid being hit.

Maos look at the airship "why is the pilot not using the turrets ?!...I can save and fight at the same time!"

"save yourself first if you can!" adam appears in front of Maos and swing his sword, the sorcerer put his own sword between his face and the enemy while parrying adam's attack, Maos is actually pushed by 2 m with the mere strength of the swing.

Maos stop himself by putting his sword on the ground, he stares at Adam

[mage armor], a level 1 spell that gives an armor similar to aura, Maos doesn't use it as often as he used since his wild magic usually protects him enough now that it is at 4th level, however now with this spell active

it means he doesn't need to use as much wild magic for defense and focus it more on attack

Adam ready his sword as Maos charged at him with sudden strength and speed, several swings occur between the two in the end Adam was the one being pushed back and send the Faunus 4 meters away, Adam went flying and had to do a flip to land correctly,Maos doesn't wait for adam to fully land, his raise his free hand toward Adam, 3 balls of fire appear in front of Maos and then the 3 balls suddenly change into 3 rays of fire toward Adam in mid-air

[Scorching Ray], a 2nd level spell that creates three rays of fire toward your enemy

Adam while landing manage to dodge and block one, absorbing the power of it inside his sword, however, he could not dodge the last one and had to tank it

"using dust huh ?!", Adam immediately again his composure as Maos dashed after him, Adam take a dust crystal that look similar to ice out of a pocket on his belt and let it go between him and Maos, then activate it using his own aura, he slashes the dust cristal in mind, the power of the ice dust seems to be absorbed into his sword

adam's sword now infused with ice dust is emitting a cold smoke and make blue-ish, he counters Maos's first attack and pushes Maos back, however, the sorcerer doesn't stop and kept attacking adam, the two start exchanging blow only touching each other sword, Adam finishes the exchange by planting his sword in the ground and creates a shock of ice pushing him and Maos away, forcing them to be separate by white smoke.

Maos stare in the white smoke waiting for it to disperse knowing Adam is behind it, Maos look at his sword, the edge was frozen, a bit of ice around his fingers,Maos use wild magic to quickly create around his body to make the ice disappear

[he uses dust to replicate an effect similar to the spell flame blade but with ice...it's impressive]thought Maos as he prepare his next spell

Before Maos could finish the spell, he receive a bullet through the white smoke right in the shoulder and then sees adam rushing out of it, the faunus seem engulfed in a red energy

[he was building up his aura to boost his body ?!]

Maos barely had the time to react and block Adam's sword, however, the strength that Adam gathered using a lot of his aura, shattered the ground under Maos as well as the [Mage armor] making it look like Maos had run out of aura, and force the sorcerer to fly away like a canon ball on the cliff wall next to the entrance of the mine, creating a crater in the cliff where Maos crashed.

the faunus stare at the crashing site of Maos for a few seconds and don't feel energized or see any movement

Adam put his sword back into his sheath "look like I won"

the faunus look around and see that the white fang has captured everyone, Adam look at it

"why were so many spared ?" said Adam as he approach and talk to the others member of his group

a white Fang member looks at Adam "our orders are to destroy the mines and capture the workers to use them as leverage for negotiation, Sienna Khan herself with be here soon to take the operation in hand "

Adam raises his sheath "just kill the human ones then, who cares? she's not here yet"

the goat Fauns suddenly felt his survival active and he dodge a beam of ice, coming from the crater where Maos crashed

Maos appear after moving several rocks around him, he cracks his neck a bit and fully reveals himself

"still alive? I am impressed,I am sure I felt your aura Breaking...and your not even bleeding..." said Adam as he ready his sword

Maos stare At Adam "you should know there was only one person who ever manage to break my Aura, the fact you manage to break it with a single powerful hit is impressive"

"and yet, you still are ready to fight," said Adam as he unsheathed his sword,Maos had his sword in only one hand however he doesn't take any stance" earlier, I said I wasn't aiming at killing you, I was hoping this could have maybe ended up in you giving up...however I'll admit your surprised me, I underestimated your ability to control your aura and combat skill, you're definitely a strong fighter"

"underestimated Faunus... how human of you,"said Adam, and yet he wasn't attacking, the goat Faunus felt strange about this whole situation, why does Maos have no injury at all? no bones broken, not even small bleeding?

Maos give a small look at all the workers, tied up, even their mouths were covered, they were threatened by the white fang members, he then turn to Adam

"Adam Taurus right? I've just heard your conversation, do you truly give no value to life if it belongs to a human ?"Maos raise his sword at the goat Faunus

"the words human life and value don't belong in the same phrase,"said Adam

"Are you really THAT one dimensional ?" asks Maos with disappointment in his eyes, he turns to others' white fang and raises his voice "do you all agree with him ?"

all the white Fang out of 13 of them, only 2 seem to hesitate a bit, a member raises his voice "the white fang are the only way, Faunus like us who could finally live peacefully, I do not care how much Human life it would cost!", the other member seems to cheer at that, even the ones who were hesitant just follow the crowd's movements.

Adam had an almost malicious smile as he stare at Maos "the will of the white fang is stronger than anything"

Maos take a deep breath, as he stares at the white members," my mission is to protect the workers, if you kill even scratch a single one I will make sure none of you is ever able to walk"

the sorcerer starts walking a bit toward Adam Taurus, " Adam Taurus, I will spare the other members, however, you are too now on I will fully fight you with the intention to kill"

"your aura is broken you have no chance human!" said Adam as he rush at Maos, he swing at the student

the sorcerer stops the Faunus's sword with a single movement of his own sword, Adam almost bounces because of the hit.

5th level wild magic to boost his body, Maos could now fully dominate Adam, they exchange several swings, and Adam dodges most of them as he know he could have lost hold of his sword, Adam is taking full advantage of his agility to dodge, making several jumps on the side while his moment by spinning onto himself to attack Maos, for every attack that Adam somehow manage to block, he would use his semblance to absorb the power behind it.

[he can still keep up with 4th wild magic on my body, this guy is crazy strong, I don't think anyone at Beacon could beat him except Ozpin and me...should I go at 5th level ?]

the movement of Maos suddenly became even faster and stronger

the last swing was so fast and strong Adam had to block and was sent flying in a similar way that Maos did earlier,Adam hit the wall of the camp, and his aura has not broken yet.

the eyes of the student start glowing with rainbow colors. he raises his free hand toward Adam

[chaos bolt], and a lightening shape project full of different type of energy goes straight toward him, Adam draw his sword and use his semblance to absorb it, he uses the very last bit of aura he has left for this

Adam screams in pain as he can't seem to absorb it, his sword is sword engulfed with chaotic energy, he slowly sheathed his sword and he screams in pain...in the pain, he manages to contain it

the regular white fang members seem in shock of what they just witnessed, they never saw Adam struggling so much, however, they still trust him to win, they have realized by now they can't win again Maos, and some of them start shooting at Maos, the bullet seems to be stopped by a strange wall of energy around Maos,he doesn't even seem to realize some just shot at him, so the white Fang members start rushing at Maos to engage a fight with their own melee weapon

"you can absorb that?" react Maos, he is genuinely surprised by the goat Faunus, and he rushes toward Adam "you're THAT dangerous!"

MAos felt his energy wavering, he can't hold 5th-level wild magic for long, at least not without a rising magic surge

Adam looks at the White Fang rushing in "don't do that you only be dead weight!"

Maos kept rushing as Adam

Adam ready his sword, he will release everything he has stocked up so far, all the physical hits and the magic sent by Maos, his sheathe start emitting Chaotic energy,Maos' sword starts glowing, red energy engulfing the blade, and they both rush as each other

Adam releases all the energy and swings as blood comes out of his mouth, Maos's sword encounters Adam's sword

somewhere in the forest, a hundred meters away from the mine and the camp with it

a group of white Fang is approaching, leading them...Sienna Khan

a female, Benga tiger-based Faunus with amber eyes, dark complexion, and wild black, chin-length hair with an asymmetrical bob style. Her Faunus trait manifested as an extra pair of ears, and her body was adorned with numerous tattoos resembling tiger stripes.

"faster, we are near the camp," said a Faunus, it's the second in command of the group

Sienna Khan is merely walking with her people on the way, most people would have thought she would be in a vehicle or at some kind of throne

the high leader looks at her second in command "do we have any information about Adam's progress-"

before she could finish her sentence, a strong gust of wind is felt, and the leave and branches of the trees even moved because of it, even stand there, stun for several second

"huh ?! did they explode the mine already ?! they were supposed to wait till the negotiation!" react Sienna, she turn to her second in command "contact Adam!"

"he's not responding!" said her second in command he had a strange red scroll in his hand, showing the failed call toward Adam " I'm trying to contact the others"

Sienna goes closer to her second in command, however, nobody answers

the eyes of the high leader widened, and something is clearly wrong"everyone at the mine! now!"

on that Sienna Khan use her aura to make herself faster and start rushing through the forest, the other members try their best to follow

the high leader's speed is greater than her men, she will arrive quickly at the mine

back at the mine, right at the moment,Maos attacks Adams, and Faunus releases his semblance.

the moment the two swords encounter, a huge shockwave occurs, sending the white fang member and some workers in the air for a second,the few plant and tree were bent due to the wind and shockwave like it was the very sound of thunder.a vibration

a young white fang member opens his eyes, he's on the ground and sees the sky, "why is the sky red ?", he slowly gets up, and there is smoke everywhere due to the huge amount of dirt that was sent in the air t, he looks around and sees everyone on the floor slowly regaining their he turned toward where Adam and Maos were.

he sees Maos standing up, stoic, with a deep cut on his shoulder, Adam Tauras is on the ground in a pool of blood, however, he is still moving, he had lost his mask

Maos look down at Adam,the Faunus is barely conscious on the ground, spitting blood, he looks up at Maos, with a glare of pure hatred, Maos's eyes didn't show any real emotion

the student seems shocked a bit as he looks at Adam, a tired voice coming out of his mouth "never expect to see another person with silvers eyes in eh span of a single day...well one eye actually...it is the source of your will and crazy skill and abilities ? are you perhaps able to control it ?"

Adam Taurus a scar, a brand... "SDC" on it which destroyed an eye,..however, the other eye is of a silver color, and the Faunus fell unconscious on the ground.

Maos look around he sees the white Fang taking the hostage again.

"have none of you learned anything from this ?" asks Maos as he tries to take a single step, he suddenly spits a bit of blood, it touched his deep wound, going from his chest and going through his shoulder

[damn it...this guy manage to cut me through 5th-level wild magic...during the fight, he could absorb all the damage, he could absorb the energy itself, this guy is a terrible match for me, what a scary semblance...]

Maos already feel his magic healing him, however, it's basically all he has to remain conscious, he lost too much blood, so he raises and points his sword at the White fang

"you have 1 minute to leave the place and never come back"

Maos suddenly a presence coming from the forest, the wall protecting the camp was damaged due to the energy clash,a tiger Faunus charged at Maos, she appeared from the forest, and he manage to call a bit of his wild magic, to create a small ball of compressed wind and send the woman flying toward the white member,she lands gracefully on the ground, her weapon look a strange whip with a blade on the end

Sienna Khan immediately put a knee on the ground and put a blade under one of the hostage's throat, as the other member of her group arrives quickly after

"hi-high leader Sienna khan!" react the terrorist from the first white fang group, they bow to her for a second

the high leader and Maos stare at each other, Sienna put the knife in hand closer to the worker's throat, it was one of the leaders of the worker, the knife made him bleed, Sienna had pure anger in her eyes

Maos put the tip of his sword next to Adam's head " be careful, I also have a Hostage and he seems more valuable than the hostage you have, losing someone with such strength is not something you want"

the tiger Faunus stares at Maos as she slowly asses the situation" who are you to stand in the way of the white fang"

Maos who is slowly buying time to heal himself speaks with a loud voice" I'm a huntsman in training, Maos Corvidae, I was engaged by the Schnee dust company to protect the workers of this mine, and who are you supposed to be ?"

a Faunus raise his voice "show some respect, this is the hig-", Sienna raise her hand to make the man stop talking, she slowly let go of the leader of the worker, however, the other white Fangs still keep them hostage, the tiger Faunus breath a bit as she gets up to adopt a more regular standing position while still keeping her weapon in hand

" I am Sienna Khan, high leader of the White Fang"

the second in command and the other henchman suddenly bring the Schnee secretary, the tiger Faunus look at her as she is added to the group of hostage, the pilot is brought along with her, and the secretary is crying in fear.

[damn it...this is a big problem...]thought Maos

then the higher leader, look at the workers...she noticed some Faunus "let go of the Faunus ones", on that Order, the Faunus worker are freed and they are put in a corner while surrounded by armed white fang members.

Sienna's eyes go back to Maos, then he gives look to Adam

"he is still alive for now, the bleeding has stopped...strangely..., and he probably won't get up after a while," said Maos, the high leader looking at the huntsman

[he is still standing despite this injury ?]thought Sienna, the other white fangs were a bit confused, why is the high leader not attacking?

"so you are the Champion of Beacon...some spy from Vale talked about you...I expect you to be taller" said Sienna, both she and Maos understand the whole situation in an instant

the tiger Faunus and the sorcerer look at the Schnee secretary with anger

Sienna raise her voice "we both got tricked human, this snake of Jacque Schnee trap us in a dire situation"

Maos raise his voice too as he breathes a bit more regularly than before "earlier, I heard one of your men say you came here to destroy the mine and use the workers for negotiation, you can't attack me and you know it, how about we skip to the part where we act like smart people?"

the sorcerer gives a look to the worker " those people are innocent, some of them are already injured, and we both know given the situation that Schnee dust company doesn't care about losing them, how about we both let go of our weapon, and hostage and we just have a conversation like civilized People if we fight no one is going to win anything"

Sienna look around and then look at Maos again "you first"

"make sense, I'm the one who propose it in the place"Maos didn't hesitate and let go of his sword and let it fall on the ground, all the white fang had a shocked face

he actually did it ? they all ready their weapon to attack him, and the high leader who had a confused look at first quickly regain her composure and raise her hand like earlier to stop them, and then she drop her weapon as well " let go of the hostage, it's on the order of the high leader, only keep the secretary"

Maos without his sword is still as dangerous and powerful as before, it's just a matter of control, but the white fang had no reason to know that

the workers were all freed, they when into a corner of the camp along with the faunus workers, and they couldn't really go far anyway, the forest is dangerous

the sorcerer has a tiny smile as he slowly walks toward Sienna khan and gets far away from Adam, the tiger faunus look at her second in command "someone day take care of Adam and bring him back to base to recover"

the high leader and the sorcerer approach each other, face to face, Maos is a bit taller than her, and he has a smile of relief

"do not smile like that, human, this isn't over, you are unarmed, you have no hostage, you are injured, and have no weapon against all the white fang in camp,I could eliminate you right," said Sienna khan

Maos didn't even seem threatened, "so you would have so far just to give up on negotiation? how we go inside one of the remaining pre-made buildings for some privacy and to have a calm environment to talk?

Sienna look almost offended

"alone? I rather kill you right now and risk an all-out war than risk getting assassinated in a room by a human",Maos just start walking toward a building, Sienna took a fighting stance for a second and then regain composure, the sorcerer turn to her," just use the secretary as a hostage during the negotiation then, I need her alive as much as you do, a hostage we both value"

"..." Sienna hesitate for a second, she looks at her command and make a quick head movement toward him, the second in command grabbed the secretary and lift her easily

after a minute Maos,Sienna, and the secretary were inside a pre-made building, outside there was a horrible silent

"It's been almost 10 minutes now, what is they talking about ? he is an injured huntsman he probably can't fight," asks a young white fang to the second in Command

the taller and older Fanus think for a few second and answer "you have to see it from a political perspective,Maos is a renowned huntsman in training, especially in Vale, attacking a huntsman in training from Beacon is bad, it could cause the whole school to go to war against the white Fang and worse, it could cause a big change, the School has a lot of Faunus student their living condition in school could become unbearable and despite their heritage, they may decide to fight against the white fang due their allegiance as huntsmen or to their admiration of Maos...it could cause division, plus it only if we don't take in account the media of vale would use the event of his death to further increase the hatred toward Faunus and white fang. "

"but why would the high leader care about that, don't we want a revolution? making changes? don't we want humans to fear us ?" asks the young white fang,the second command slap the young Faunus on the head

"it's the high leader's job to care about things like that! and also the white fang for respect from Humans, fear is just a means to an end, the most efficient one, also sadly the more violent one, it's really all about seeing the big picture"

10 minutes before, when entering the building, Maos cast several spells on him, he had time to heal himself, at least enough to he could spend some energy on a spell on himself

[calm emotion],[serene face],[friendly face], all level 1 spells, that will help Maos during the conversation, sadly casting spells on Sienna khan is a bad idea, he doesn't know how resistant she can be to psychic spell like [charm person] and mostly, she would also realize she was under the effect of a spell after a while and it would destroy any progress Maos could make today.

in the room, there is a rectangular table with 6 chairs, probably this building is used by the workers to take a break or eat. MAos sit at the end of the table, Sienna follows him and takes a seat on the opposite end of the table, the second command comes into the room and put the secretary on a chair on one side of the table, on equal distance from Sienna and Maos .

"you aren't going to get treatment for your wound? If you die and your death is associated with the white fang I will-"asks Sienna, Maos interrupt her with even talking and tear a few clothes to show the wound, almost heal, there's barely any blood coming out of it

"how in th-..." the higher leader is shocked for a second, but she resumes her previous composure quickly

the second in command looked at Sienna waiting for her orders, the higher leader " you can leave, but stand on guard outside, everyone with their weapon ready outside", she said out loud not caring about Maos's presence, on the second in command left the room., Maos sigh at that lack of trust which makes perfect sense

there an awkward silence as SIenna and Maos stare at each other, meanwhile, the secretary is slowly calming down, her mouth is still covered, she can't even speak

Maos spoke first " how about we start explaining clearly the situation to make sure we both understand both sides?" Sienna made a small movement of her head to agree,Maos being the one to start the conversation while explaining his own side first.

"the Schnee dust company sent her," said Maos as he point to the secretary " to make a contract with Beacon, the contract is about me doing a mission clearing the grims of this area and understanding why is there so many of them, Jacque Schnee being himself, he tried to extend the contract so that Beacon also would be allow reduced prizes on certain elements from the mine like metal and gold, then I came here, fight grims, win, help the workers recover and heal Faunus included of course, you can check that part yourself by asking someone in the camp, search for a fox Faunus, then this Adam Taurus and the member of his group appear, take the workers as Hostage meanwhile I was fighting Adam, I beat adam and then you arrive. the generator of the automatic turret is out manually, I guess you probably have a spy in the camp or someone stealthy enough to enter the camp during the night or even day to deactivate the turret, I take your group is also the one who leads Grim to this place."

Sienna khan examine Maos , as if to check if he was lying or not, he had no reason to lie, but still, she then start explaining her own side.

"we white fang have planned the attack for today, however, we did not use grim, we got the location of the grims from someone from the company, however, we have no spy in the camp itself, our plan is to destroy the mine and then use the hostage as several to try to push Jacque Schnee out of vale, his activity in vale has greatly increased recently and wherever Jacque Schnee has power, no Faunus is safe, Adam is a powerful and known member of the white,I personally sent him first with a small group, our scout had seen the grim going toward the mine we assume any resistant would be greatly reduced after we realize the grims of been eliminated and our scouts had seen the automatic turrets weren't working."

Maos is a bit surprised by Sienna, she really reveals the whole situation from our plan, he knows she probably hides a few facts here and there, but she didn't seem to lie, he leans back on his chair " so your group is not the reason why there is so many grim...that's problematic"

Sienna exhale a bit of air out of her nose hearing that"it would have been so easy to blame the white fang" said Sienna as she glared at him,

Maos look back at her, "you're right, it was the easy answer, it was idiotic of me to think that way, Correlation doesn't mean causation, however, it makes it harder to deal with, because it means there is a strong grim or something around here attracting grim, a lot of them and that the grim with coming back"

there another silent " now that situation is understood... mostly anyway", Maos turn to the secretary "let's ask her what are the probability of making a full-on contract with Beacon to send me SPECIFICALLY to a mine that would be under attack by the high leader of the white fang herself"

Maos get up and took off the piece of clothes stopping the secretary from talking, the secretary didn't anything, she could only swallow her own saliva, trying to think about the right thing to say, the high leader of the white stared there with Schnee sell out had a hard time to even start to speak

"..w-..well...we"start the terrified secretary, Sienna suddenly hit the table with her hand and get up from her chair "speak! Jacque was aware of the white fang's presence around the mine didn't he ?!"

the secretary panicked "I SWEAR I was only doing my job, I was just to make the contract and bring Maos here, I was never to even set foot in the camp!"

Maos raise his hand in front of Sienna khan to stop her since she suddenly got up from her seat "stop, she's already panicked and scared, we won't get anything from her if you scare her like that"

the sorcerer turned toward the secretary and put a hand on her shoulder and he cast a spell on her [calm emotion], that way the secretary would at least be able to maintain a normal conversation

Sienna sees the face of the secretary slowly become more composed... calmer at least. her breathing goes back to a normal speed, and after a whole minute she seems finally able to talk properly and Maos goes back to his seat, the sorcerer look at Sienna khan " see...now we ask a question"

"tch.."Sienna seat back on her chair as she waits for Maos to talk despite her clear disgusted eye at the Schnee secretary

Maos use the spell [calm emotion] again on himself too, dealing with the leader of a terrorist group is stressful for him, and he turns to the secretary" so... Jacque Schnee was aware or not ?"

"y-yes..." said the secretary" while he didn't tell me personally, I overheard a conversation between two staff members that are in charge,i had to ask him directly so he would answer, his plan was to gamble, that you would kill some white fangs or even better the high-leader and force Beacon to solely rely on the Schnee dust company for dust supply when the school would now fear for an attack from the white fangs,the council of vale itself may even want a similar contract"

Maos look away in disgust "...he knew Ozpin would never sign with the company...so he try to put the school in a situation where Ozpin would not have a choice,the company being the only thing being to fully provide an army of huntsmen of dust"

the secretary start speaking with a hesitant voice" would the huntsmen in tr-raining be able to go to war like that? I mean I c-can't imagine the headmaster of Beacon sending children to war"

Sienna answered Before Maos could " war ? it would be a cold war, and the problem is not the student, they would be sent only as a last resort, the real danger is every single huntsman that graduated from this school, would defend Beacon like it was their home, plus some teacher of the school are known to be legendary", the high leader

Maos ask another question "why me for this mission? I get that I am famous and Ozpin's protege in most people's eyes"

the secretary didn't know what to answer" I-i don't know...I guess according to the data the company has, Jacque Schnee knows that you are ready to take lethal measures mission if necessary unlike most students of Beacon, Jacque has whole files about you on his desk, he considered you as a potential strong asset for the company...after this mission, I was supposed to give you a contract that would give a job as personal henchman under Jacque Schee's personally order right your graduate"

sienna get up and punch the table breaking it, she almost growled at the secretary, her tiger could be seen, beautiful and terrifying at the same time.

"so...you're telling me..."Sienna seem to take a deep breath" that this SNAKE only intend to use my death or my people's death as a mere means for a mere commercial contract ?!", she walked toward the Secretary with anger, her claws out , but Maos goes in between them as the secretary fall from her chairs trying to get away

"don't," said Maos

Sienna glares straight at Maos's silver eyes and says "she's an ally to Jacque Schnee, he uses my people like chess pieces! Humans really don't mind being allied with the worst kind of people if it means that Faunus are the only ones to suffer the consequence! even you! you didn't mind coming to this mine in the first place! "

thankfully, Sienna is affected by the [calm emotion] spell and doesn't to be angry...in fact, since she feels so little emotion she sees the situation and his points with logic and manages to understand the perspective of Maos, she stands there in silence as she analyses the situation with a clear mind.

it feels strange for her, she never felt like this. she always had that hatred and anger in the back of her mind in every thought she had...and now she doesn't have any of that. it strangely reminds her of when she used to drink tea with Kali Belladonna and Ghira belladonna, a peaceful moment.

"let's go wild a bit", the sorcerer planted his sword on the ground as a strong gut of wind formed in the shape of a circle around him, he then seem to concentrate he generated in his blade, to the point where the sword of Osiris is so engulfed in the wind, the blade seems almost MADE of wind, a small tornado formed around Maos with him in the center, the tornado seems to be filled with different color

"is th-that a semblance ?" asks one of the white fangs, as the sorcerer grabs his sword

"hell yeah it is"said the pilot fully encouraging Maos

the huntsmen with the sword in only one hand, raise the sword and move his arm to the side, that way his arm does almost a line with his shoulders

the grim start hitting the wall, and yet Maos didn't move, Sienna stare at him, she had gotten her weapon as well and is to fight any grims that approach too close

the grim could be heard hitting the wall and trying to pierce it, the student still has almost 40 seconds before they break-in

, the wind around Moas seems to get stronger and stronger

the grim suddenly break in the wave approach Moas first, the sorcerer is in almost T-pose, both sword on his sides, he waits for the grims to reach him

Maos is moving as greats speed between the tree, using 3lv wild magic to boost his strengths as the spell [haste] already boost his speed by the same level, most of the time it took a single swing in the neck for the beowolf and his sword cut through it like butter and sometimes it took 3 to 4 hit for the Ursa to go down, but he is slowly getting to total extermination, there were so many grims

[where is the alpha? I haven't found a single one ?! I've killed 226 grims already]thought the sorcerer, this strong in the area is his main target, but he can't find

then he stop his whole movement" wait...all the grims naturally go to the mines...I thought that maybe it was because a strong grim is somewhere in the forest and it wants to kill the workers...however, I don't find any really powerful grims...the workers and the white fang alone couldn't have attracted this many grim alone...meaning there HAS to be a strong grim at its origin..."

the sorcerer start focusing on his magic, trying to feel any kind of energy, anything, he even use several spells

Maos suddenly felt something touching his face, like a hand caressing his cheek, an icy hand,he even felt something breathing behind his ears, he turned around immediately and swing his sword, cutting a tree, his wild magic reacted before he could think and create a wave of electricity around him

and yet, he killed nothing but a tree, no creature is around, and the area is just empty... it was literally without life except Maos, even the grass around him felt dead, his breathing felt heavy

he felt a deep fear for a whole minute, heavy breathing, even sweating, something managed to sneak up on him, behind his back, literally touch his face and was gone before he could even see it,it wasn't human or Faunus, the instinct of Maos is screaming that is the grim he looking for

something was there, something that could even from magic itself, something Maos couldn't understand, he searched through his memories, he need to know, he kept looking around, the sorcerer suddenly got

an idea, what if he is affected by an effect? that would explain why he can't find the grim, but it wouldn't explain why the grim didn't attack him

the young men start thinking a bit...the main body must still be trapped, if it was free, the grims would have stopped attacking already

the huntsman rushed into the mine, he see a wagon full of gold and iron and maybe a few other things as he enter

"the grims are clear on the surface," said Maos," the wagon is already on the surface, my part of the deal done, you should have left already"

the high leader is actually frozen, what to do?

suddenly the second in command took the remaining explosives in the other white fang's hands and start running away in the cave while the others stand in confusion

Sienna raise her hand to try and stop her second command, but the other white fang that was possessed attacked another member in the throat and killed him,it then attack the other member but he was stopped and put on the ground by the other members

Maos immediately aim his sword as the living corpses on the ground started swinging, "don't bother, he's already dead !", the sword Of Osiris cut the head clean

"the hell you just did ?!" scream the other member, even Sienna almost attacked Maos but stop herself,

everyone is looking in hatred at Maos "he was just an animated corpse, hate me how much you want, but believe me I did him and you a favor"

"just check your heartbeat and you will know," said Maos turning to the high leader"I'm going to catch the guy with the explosive, he must not free the grim, bring your people to the surface"

the high leader, raise her weapon and stop Maos,"I'm coming with you, you won't behead another white fang today", she turn to her people" everyone on the surface now", her people hesitate a bit "by order of the high leader, everyone to the surface now !" screams Sienna, this time they listening to her and left

"tch.."Sienna almost spit on the floor "I can't believe I lead my people to death" the high leader put her arm down and let the huntsman advance

the huntsman and the higher leader got separated

"tch I swear humans can be so annoying.." said Sienna

Maos heard it with the echo of the cave but he choose to ignore it

Sienna start fighting against her second in command, armed with her chain whip, she launch the first attack almost like throwing a knife,

the SIC (second in command) draws his sword, a giant sword, and blocks the hit with a swing, the tiger Faunus jumps high in the air and spins her whip to perform a long swing, which the SIc actually dodges, she lands on him, kicking him in the face, she then rolls on the ground

the SIC try several attacks at her, which she doesn't quite easily, she could attack and hit him as he kept spinning on herself and spin her chain whip while dodging

at some point, he tries a circular swing, Sienna crouch for a second and then kicks him twice in the face by jumping and doing a barrel roll at the same time

"I know you're in there !" said Sienna, she barely had the time to hope for a single second, that he punches her with great strength and sent her flying, she regains her posture in mid-air and landed on her both feet, she then slashes his face with one of the blades of her whip..she directly saw blood

Sienna landed...the body of what was once Faunus fall on the ground, and decompose really fast; the high leader look at the corpses, she still has the sword in her hand

she suddenly throws it somewhere in the cave...barely able to look at it, she then rushes to Maos, she uses her senses of smell to locate his path

she did grab the remaining explosives...enough to send this whole place to hell and the grim with it

the sorcerer tried to warn her "it's will only free the grim ! and if you put this much explosive,it will cause the whole area on the surface to collapse, do you realize how deep we are and how much explosive it that ?!"

"Not if it blows inside it and I put all the remain charges, and I will activate the charge once we are on the surface and away from this place" responds the Faunus, she starts using her claw to cut the grim...the grim doesn't even move, because the mind is not in the main body after all, Sienna realizes it wasn't moving so her attack became faster and more ferocious

"tch...I swear if we survive this, I better have my materials" said Maos as he push her away, "let me do it, I'm gonna make a hole then you throw in the explosive""

he put both of his hands on the skin of the grim, a fire emits from it, he concentrates

[Flaming Sphere], a level 2 spell, that creates a sphere of fire with a diameter of 3 meters, the sphere is constant for a minute and be move

Sienna back down seeing the sphere of fire, she sees it slowly digging the flesh of the grims easily

the sphere advance 10 m in, "should be enough to throw in the explosives" said Maos as he cancel the sphere of fire, Sienna throw the explosive without hesitation

"Now, we just hope it's enough to kill it, let's go on the surface", suddenly the wall start shaking

"it realizes what we were doing !, time to run," said Maos as he start to move, but he see that Sienna isn't moving, he turn around to look at her, and he then sees the shadow..the thing that would possess people, it's trying to take over Sienna, paralyzing her, she seems to be able to fight it back

"damn it"the sorcerer rush at Sienna, then he emits strong holy magic to push the grim back, Sienna's aura has been broken, and she falls unconscious on the ground

"it use her anger to find a breach in her mind despite her having resisted before"

Maos catch the high leader, he sees the shadow... changing form.. becoming almost physical, Maos back down in a jump with Sienna in his arm, he looks at the shadow

Its shape changed from a shadow...to a shape similar to Sienna, the creature raised it to hand, he had an object that belong to Sienna

Maos's widened as he start sweating, the shadow is holding the detonator, and the grim started making a strange sound

"you...you" start saying the creature

the monster is fully aware there is no scenario where it can survive

[firebolt !], with his free Maos didn't even hesitate, a projectile of fire launched from its hand and hit the grims's hand holding the detonator...the grim took the hit, and the arm didn't fall off...a mere bit of flesh hold then detonate

suddenly Maos saw a light around the shadow's arm...a yellow light that healded the shadow's arm, a similar energy to that of the god of light

Sienna slowly regains consciousness, and she sees the whole scene

Maos immediately felt and put everything together...this entire situation ...is a plan from the god of light, too many coincidences..the gods probably use their power to alter the decision of people here and there, and they guide the Schnee dust company to this mines, they guide white fang here..they guide me here...and they empowered the leviathan so it could a threat dangerous to kill Maos. too many coincidences to be really the result of bad luck.

"ho-how ?" the high is frozen in place, unable to move as she sees the shadow with her shape regenerate

"the gods are actively trying to kill me, regardless of how many people die because of it, and they expect us to pray for them ?!" scream Maos as rage could be seen in his eye

"die...with me...die with me !" the grim started screaming as it pushes the detonator

Sienna felt her end coming, is this really how it's going to end? with a human by her side..what a joke...

humanMaos genuinely felt hatred, his eyes glow red like they never did, his entire bloodline seem to be boiling with hatred, and the gods showed once again...how little they actually care for their creation

and the explosive activates, the whole mine crashes down

a day later, a bull headland in Beacon, Maos come out of it, a few students saw him, he was the one piloting the airship, the airship seem almost fully destroyed, and many wondered if it could even fly, the side door of the fly vehicle ope, revealing Maos and the pilot, the pilot seems gravely injured as his waist, he had some kind of bandage made of leaves"those dead people really did a number on me" said the pilot as he grunts in pain, "don't worry, you should be okay, the wound is already healing" said Maos as he comes out of the airship and helps the pilot on his feet

Maos seem to have his clothes seem almost intact apart from a deep cut toward the shoulder and torso, he didn't have his jacket, here and there, but his sword in its sheath, he is welcome by professor Goodwitch and he approaches her with the pilot leaning on his shoulder

"Can you call the infirmary ?" ask Maos, as he said several people from the infirmary arrive and take the pilot with them on a stretcher, "kid! you rule ! I don't know how the hell you did all that, but it was amazing !, I just want you to know that, see you on your next mission...please let it be in like 2 months at least okay ?" said the pilot as he raises a thumb at Mao's in victory, the sorcerer responds with the same movement

"How was the mission ?" asks Glynda as Maos start walking toward the dorms, she follows him

Maos look around, his expression losing the smile he had a few seconds "sadly not everyone could make it...I couldn't save any workers..they were already dead when I got there"

they have now entered the dorm

the white fang goes in the direction indicated by the wolf, they end on a huge pile of metal, like a small pyramid,"look there smoke coming out of it

they go around the pyramid,it had actually some kind of small entrance, enough for a human to go through but not a grim like Beowolf

the white fang starts hearing movement inside, the footstep " we're here !", they hear calls for help from inside, and they see someone come out of the entrance

"high leader!?" reacted the patrol, Sienna has the usual clothing,a lot of it seems to be torn apart, she also wearing a strange jack to cover her upper body as it seems to be the most torn up, the jacket had a huge cut from shoulder to the torso, but it was thin enough to still cover her

several other members of the white fans come out of the pyramid, everyone seems mostly fine, hurt here and there but not badly, they had also 2 bodies with them, a member who died fighting the workers

"what do we do now ?" asks someone from the patrol
