Before I get started I'd like to take a moment to thank all of you guys for reading. Only two chapters posted so far and the view count is already over 250. This is the fastest any of my stories have gotten to this number. The record was previously held by Urusei Yatsura: Branches of Love. So thank you all once again and I hope to entertain you all with this labor of love known as Chapter 3.

The First Man

With the short, but eventful fight still fresh in their minds, the audience hype themselves up for the second round of Ragnarok.

Heimdall shouts out. "Are you ready, folks!?

We got quite the show for you for the second round! The arena… which was thoroughly DESTROYED during Round One… is now good as new thanks to divine intervention!"
The replaced ground began to shake. As a pillar emerges from a level below. Sitting on this pillar is the combatant for humanity during Round Two.

He then jumps off the pillar onto the ground below. Heimdall continued speaking as he made his way to the center.

"He carries the hope of humanity in his heart! The day has come where the first man rebels against his father!

He who named himself 'man.' He is truly… A man among men. There exists no man in human history who despises the Gods more than he does.

The Father of All Humanity… ADAM!"

Looking down at the arena, Saitama comments. "So that's Adam, huh? I can barely believe it. Yet I'm seeing it. Okay, Adam… let's see what you're made of."

Heimdall spoke again. "Even the gods are confused by the… surprising choice of Adam! And…"

He pauses for a moment. "And following the ultimate Norse God from Round One… To face the progenitor of humanity is… THE ULTIMATE HINDU GOD!"

Everything went silent before Heimdall received a message from his magic communicator. "What's going on? A change in the lineup? To who?"

Suddenly, a melody can be heard from the Gods side of the arena. Saitama raises an eyebrow. "Is… that… Bach?"

Goll brings her hand to her mouth as she sees the messenger god Hermes walk onto the arena playing a violin. "Hermes? But he wasn't even on the list!"

Brunhilde froze up. "Ohhh… Don't tell me."

Heimdall announces again. "Uh, ladies and gentlemen… Allow me to once again announce the fighter representing the Gods in Round Two!"

It was then that Zeus walked up behind Hermes. Gripping his cane, he gives a smile that could only be described as creepy.

"Why hello there, everybody! Please be gentle with me, won't you!?"

"Oh not that creepy old fart!" Brunhilde screams. Saitama at this point is more concerned than anything. The music then gets louder as Zeus enlarges himself into a more musclular form.

Heimdall announces. "The Godfather of the Cosmos himself! Creating something from nothing on a whim… and back to nothing if it displeases him! He is truly a god among gods!

Inciter of the Titanomachy - The battle to decide the mightiest of the gods! The one who willingly took upon himself the infamy of killing his own father! The sadistic… war-mongering… lecherous deity!

The one… and ONLY… ZEUS!"

Goll then shouts out. "Why is Lord Zeus making an appearance so early!?"

Brunhilde bit her thumb. "So he's not as overconfident as I hoped he would be. That's a shame. I don't know what's about to happen."

Saitama looks at her. "Wait a minute. I have a question… If you don't mind me asking." "What is it?"

"Wouldn't it have made more sense to save me for the end of the tournament… Where you would anticipate that more powerful gods would be fighting? Instead of… you know… putting me in the very first round?"

"Your universe was the closest one we could get to." Answered Brunhilde. "A number of my Valkyrie sisters are scouting out the ones that take a longer time to get to at this moment. I had been given only a short deadline to gather the fighters from this universe. This is a matter of life and annilation and we can't afford to make any mistakes.

Saitama looks down at Adam and Zeus. "This Zeus guy… I can tell that he's way more powerful than everybody I've had to fight. Whoever this Adam guy really is in a fight… I hope he knows what he's doing."

"And now the dream matchup of Zeus versus Adam has become a reality in Round Two!" Announces Heimdall. "A showdown between the pinnacle of humanity and the pinnacle of divinity!"

Adam then looks up to see a valkyrie riding on her pegasus above him. "There you are."

Goll shouts out. "Sister Reginleif!"

Reginleif shouts down at Adam. "Give me your hand, Adam! What's important is connecting our hearts! Then I will become a part of you!"

She hops off her pegasus and falls towards Adam. "Now! At this moment! Let us become one!"

With the bond between Valkyrie and warrior established. Adam now clutches his new weapon: A simple brass knuckle. Zeus tugs at his beard.

"Ah yes. I know full well about the bond between Valkyrie and warrior. The ability to transfigure themselves into a weapon strong enough to go against any weapon forged in Heaven. Another strategy composed by the Valkyrie to rebel against the Gods."

Heimdall announces. "Well let's start the Second Round of Ragnarok! Adam representing the human race… and Zeus representing the Gods!"

He then blows the Ghallarhorn. Officially starting the second round.

Watching the fight, Adam's sons: Cain, The First Murderer, and Abel, The First Murder Victim, cheer their father.

"Show him no mercy, pops!" "You can do it, dad!"

Now smiling, Adam questions Zeus.

"I thought you were going to use something like a lightning bolt against me. You're not going to fight with a weapon?"

Zeus returns Adam's smile. "Nah, why rush things? Weapons are too quick for me. It wouldn't be as satisfying."

"I see." Said Adam. "But I think you'll regret it."

Zeus clenches his fist. "Alright then… father of humanity… I hope you're ready… Because I got something special for you!"

1 MILE PER SECOND/3,600 MILES PER HOUR

Zeus threw a punch much faster than any human could throw, but Adam ended up dodging it.

Heimdall announces. "IMPRESSIVE! Zeus had just punched with a speed that surpasses any jet plane ever flown! But Adam easily dodges it!"

Saitama scratches his head. "Yeah man, we have eyes, you know."

He then notices two Gods on the other side of the arena.

"Hmm… Brunhilde? Would that guy over there be the God of War by any chance? He looks like a Roman soldier."

Brunhilde nodded. "That IS Ares, yes."

"Here I come!" Zeus shouted as he continued to try landing punches on Adam. "METEOR JAB!"

10 MILES PER SECOND

100 MILES PER SECOND

1,000 MILES PER SECOND

10,000 MILES PER SECOND

"Ah, I see." Saitama puts it together. "He's getting faster and faster. Man… the heroes back home are never going to believe this!"

"I'm right here and I can barely believe it!" Goll shouts at him.

"Now let's see you dodge THIS!" He threw another fast punch, which Adam dodged. 100,000 MILES PER SECOND. "DIVINE…" He then sees Zeus raise his foot. Definitely for a kick to the side.

Ares comments. "And that's it for Adam."

"AXE!" As Zeus moves in for the kill, Adam moves out of the way. He was so fast that all Zeus saw was an afterimage.

Zeus then remembers what happened in the first fight. Thor couldn't hit Saitama and could only hit the afterimages of him. If that's the case then all logic should point to…

Adam standing right behind him. Giving off a familiar pose.

What Adam did next was something that shocked everybody. That may have not been his intention., but he wanted to prove himself to a certain someone.

It didn't take him any time at all. As soon as Zeus realized what was going on, it was too late.

"Killer move: Serious series - Serious Punch!"

"EHHH!?" Saitama leaned against the balcony.

Adam hit Zeus so hard that he was sent flying across the field. He ended up getting buried under a large part of the arena.

Heimdall couldn't believe what he just saw, but he felt that he had to say something.

"HE'S DOWN! The all knowing, all powerful Zeus! He has been knocked down!

It appears that Adam has perfectly copied Saitama's punch! The very same one that destroyed Mjolnir!"

Adam looks away from his downed opponent and looks up at the crowd. It was then that he locked eyes with Saitama.

While no words were exchanged between the two, Saitama could read that Adam was praising him over his fight with Thor. Right now it's as if he's fighting Zeus alongside him.

Zeus's voice then reaches both their ears. "I'm so happy I can't stand it!" He emerges from the rubble he was buried under. Now looking twice as big and muscular as he was before.

"Now let's see you do your cheap imitation of THIS!"

This would be Zeus's most powerful attack yet. One he learned from his father, Kronos, who is practically the embodiment of time itself.

He calls this move: The Fist Beyond Time.

187,000 MILES PER SECOND

As much as Zeus would like to hit Adam with this attack, however, Adam had already copied it in a matter of milliseconds. Hitting Zeus with all the power of a god.

"I saw that coming from a mile away." Said Adam, now looking down at his brass knuckle. "I should really thank Saitama when this is over. I owe it all to him."

"I don't understand." Said Goll. "How is Adam able to move faster than light? Saitama couldn't even do that!"

Taking his eyes off the arena, Saitama crosses his arms.

"Well… actually. Back when I still had hair, I noticed that after a day of training, it began to start falling out. I looked at myself in the mirror trying to figure out how much of my hair had fallen off the back of my head… Didn't want to see any bald spots… Well… It took me a few tries but I did turn my head faster than my reflection… and discovered one."

Brunhilde looks at Saitama. "If what you're saying is true… and you did move faster than your reflection… Then it must mean you moved faster than time… And since Adam copied your moves… he can move faster than time."

Saitama then points at Adam. "But how is he able to copy all my moves to begin with? Last time someone copied my serious punch… he'd been given some power… I don't know exactly what happened."

"To answer your question, Saitama… Allow me to quote a Bible verse for you: Genesis Chapter 1, Verse 27…

So God created mankind in his own image. In the image of God he created them.

In other words, Adam is a copy of a god. He can perfectly duplicate any divine technique. Your punches… Saitama… can also be placed in the category of divine. That's how he can copy you. He watched your fight with 'The Eyes of the Lord.'"

Saitama looks down at Adam. "Hmm… I wonder how a fight between me and him would go… We would go all out… Not worrying about collateral damage and…" He squints his eyes. "Is… That… Eve?"

Eve, dressed in only leaves, is jumping up and down. "Adam! Darling, you did it! You won!"

Brunhilde crosses her arms. "The first woman to exist… And the mother of humanity."

"Revenge has been taken!" Heimdall screamed. "Adam has returned the pain of his banishment a hundred fold to his tormentors!"

"Now the score is two to nil." Said Brunhilde. "Things worked out all right. Zeus had me worried for a bit, but putting him after you, Saitama, really was the best move I could make."

"It's time to call the winner!" Heimdall continues. "Ragnarok Round Two… Goes to… A-MMPH!"

Within a second, Zeus shuts Heimdall's mouth. Even with his head turned backwards and his neck snapped. "IT'S NOT OVER!"

Heimdall runs away while Zeus snaps his neck back into place.

"You must be under a lot of pain, old timer." Said Adam. "What's another loss to the God's? You already have one anyway. Just stop. You've done enough."

Zeus spits out a mouthful of blood. "I'll stop fighting either when I die or you die. My pride won't allow anything else."

He points at Adam. "I'm sure you know the feeling of pride intimately, don't you? That's why you're fighting us Gods. Yeah, I got you all figured out. You feel pride more than anything else!"

Adam lets out a sigh. "You made a good guess, Zeus. But you're wrong. I do have some pride, but that's not why I fight… Because there is no 'why.'

Does anyone need a reason… To protect their own children?"

Upon hearing this, humanity trembled. The children of Adam felt a shiver of emotion. For the first time in history, the entire human race united as one.

"Not a bad reason." Said Zeus. "You managed to captivate the audience on your side… Especially that guy over there. He got weak in the knees hearing you say that."

Saitama is struggling to straighten his knees while fighting the tears gathering in his eyes. He now views Adam not only as just another fighter, but a father figure. No offence to his own father. (Who are Saitama's parents anyway?)

"Are you… crying, Saitama?" Said Goll.

"I'm not crying! You're crying! Shut up!"

Zeus continues. "I hate to do this but you leave me no choice. I'll have to use my final form to defeat you!"

Zeus then screams in agony as all the muscles in his body began to compact themselves. Even the muscles on his face drain away to other integral parts of his body.

Hermes crosses his arms. "I figure he has about five minutes before his final form kills him. It's hard to believe I might see my father die today."

Saitama couldn't believe what he was seeing. "It's like I'm staring death itself in the face. Heh, I never thought I'd ever say that."

Zeus compresses his energy in his fists, attempting to make contact with Adam. "Right Hand of God!"

Adam, however, did as he always did and dodged at the last moment. Returning the punch with every bit of strength delivered to him.

As the fight continued, something happened that Adam couldn't anticipate. He could dodge a fist that went beyond light speed, but what he couldn't dodge… was a tiny drop of blood that leaked out of one of Zeus's many wounds that he had given him. It landed straight in his eye.

With the new advantage, Zeus manages to hit Adam in the face while he was still processing what had happened. It didn't take as many hits to break the bones in his face, but that didn't stop the now newly blind Adam to grab Zeus by the hair and just kept punching with his free hand.

"How much longer can Adam last?" Said Saitama. "This isn't anything that I'm prepared to see!"

As he kept throwing punches, Adam thought to himself.

"It looks like… I won't be able to speak to you, Saitama. I'm not gonna get the chance to thank you for all that you've done. I can feel myself fading away.

Even though I may be reduced to nothing… I know that I can trust you to continue fighting for humanity. No matter what.

I leave everything to you… Saitama."

Those were his last thoughts as Zeus fell to his knees. "It's… over."

Heimdall looks at Adam. "Adam… is no longer alive!"

The noise that followed was something indescribable. The father of humanity is now dead. (I can't bring myself to describe it. I'm sorry.)

"I gotta hand it to you, Adam." Zeus spoke to the corpse. "If this was a battle of endurance… you would have won."

The humans in the audience cry as Adam is reduced to dust. Reginleif had also died alongside him. Meanwhile, all the gods celebrate their first victory over humanity. Zeus had given them the same feeling that Saitama gave to humanity.

"In the second bout of the final battle between god and man… Zeus is the victor!"

Zeus VS Adam

Match Length: 6 minutes 27 seconds.

Deciding Move: Fist Strike.

Winner: Zeus

"Brunhilde-sama…"

With the death of Adam still fresh in their minds, a Valkyrie approached the three. Brunhilde spoke. "What it is, Randgriz? It better be good news."

Randgriz nods. "Two heroes from two other universes have just arrived. Hrist and Hlokk are briefing them as we speak."

Saitama lets out a sigh. He knows he's going to be meeting some very strong people soon. But in his opinion, there's nobody alive in this universe or in his own that can even come close to Adam.

"Whoever these heroes are, I can't wait to meet them." He said to Brunhilde. "Because I need to start preparing myself… Just in case the Gods end up coming out on top when this is over."

Fav, follow, and review. Okay thanks. Bye.
