With the fifth round of Ragnarok about to start, Brunhilde and Goll stood where they usually would, overlooking the arena.
This time, Saitama isn't with them. Instead, Mash would be the one commentating on this fight.
Brunhilde looks at Mash. "Listen, I'd like to thank you again for hyping up Raiden. You've saved me a bit of trouble."
Mash nods. "Sure… If all it took was me fighting to make him like that, then I'm glad to help."
"I'm still sad that Heracles is now dead." Said Goll. "But humankind is now closer than ever to its survival."
"Yeah, about that. Tell me again how long this tournament is gonna be?" Said Mash.
"This tournament will go on as long as it has to." Said Brunhilde. "Once humanity achieves seven wins against the gods, then it'll be over. We have three now."
"Hmm…" Mash scratches his chin. "We need seven wins… And we have three… So that means…" After taking a moment to think, Mash relaxes his arms. "We need to win seventeen more fights."
Brunhilde then felt Goll gazing at her. She quickly spoke. "Well I didn't pick him because of his ability to do math."
"Are you kidding me?"Said Goll. "I've seen children do better than this guy."
It was then that they heard Heimdall begin to announce again. The fifth round is about to start.
"The gods have a lot of work to do if they ever hope to catch up to humanity! This tournament is still far from over and it's still too close to call as to who will win! So let's get this show on the road!"
The crowd cheered before he spoke again.
"And now, introducing the fifth representative for humanity!
In all 2,000 years of sumo history, none would deny that one man stood above the rest!
The slap! The shove! Arm locking! The bear hug! All manuvers that were forbidden for him because of his incredible strength! But that did nothing to stop him from winning!"
Raiden enters the arena; throwing off his robe, revealing his muscular body. Mash couldn't help but take note of the finer details.
"Ohh… Raiden, you do have some fine muscles… Latissimus Dorsi… Gluteus Maximus… Illiopsoas… You haven't even begun to fight and I'm already impressed."
Brunhilde looks at Mash. "You're not used to seeing muscular people in your world, are you?"
Mash shook his head. "No. I'm not." "Well you're in for a show."
Heimdall continues. "For over 20 years, he ruled the ring without interruption! There was nobody alive that could stand up against him!
The unrivaled! The incomparable! The champion!
At the eastern entrance representing the humans in Round Five from Japan… Tameemon Raiden!"
A small smile crept on Mash's face. "Beautiful. What an entrance. I'm almost starting to like you already."
"And now!" Heimdall continues. "The fifth representative for the gods!
After creating the world on a whim, he also destroys it on another!"
A herd of a dozen elephants make their way onto the arena. Mash could see a man with four arms sitting on one. "Ohhh…"
"After creation, comes destruction! After destruction, comes rebirth! Could it not be said that the world is this man's plaything!
What is it that you desire!? Ask this god for any boon you want! There is no use in arguing! No point in reasoning! Those who do not interest him, receive nothing more… than destruction!
Introducing… SHIVA!"
Looking Raiden in the eyes, Shiva spoke. "Time for me to destroy?"
Mash then notices a large group of Hindu gods in the audience cheering on Shiva. One in particular stood out to him. "A talking… pink elephant man… Ohhh…"
Brunhilde then felt Goll nudge her on the arm. "So… you wanna tell him the story about Ganesha?"
Brunhilde shook her head. "I'd prefer to NOT go through all of that again, Goll."
Raiden then claps his hands, making a huge noise that shakes the crowd. "Sorry to keep you waiting."
"No problem." Said Shiva. "I'm going to enjoy this."
The fifth round's strongest man makes his first attack…
Instead of using shijuuhatte… Raiden attacked with a dropkick.
Mash, at this point, has his eyes locked on Raiden. "Ohhh…"
"What a powerful kick!" Yells Heimdall. "Raiden's hidden strength is starting to show!"
Raiden and Shiva fought in their respective ways for a while. Neither of them giving an inch.
Shiva yells out to Raiden. "Let's have a dance-off to the death, shall we!?"
"Were you always this annoying!?" Said Raiden. "I haven't even shown you yet… what I'm able to do to you!"
"Don't give me that crap, human!" As soon as Shiva finished yelling, Raiden had already closed the distance between them. He threw a series of punches before performing a clothesline move.
With Shiva on the ground, Heimdall yells.
"It's not even close! Raiden, at full throttle, has completely overpowered the Hindu God of Destruction!"
Shiva was quick to stand up, but Raiden closed the distance again. "Daki Jizo." This however, wasn't enough for him.
"I… I thought Raiden's headbutt would be the end of it!" Yells Heimdall. "But Shiva was there to meet him with a headbutt of his own!"
"Come on!" Shiva yells. "Is that all you got!?"
As he began hitting Raiden again, he didn't anticipate one of his arms getting grabbed. Raiden held on with all his strength. "Midare Botan." "AAAUGH!"
Shiva kicks Raiden away before looking down at his crippled arm.
"I can't believe what I'm seeing." Said Mash. "I never thought his muscles could do something like that."
Brunhilde looks at him. "I should remind you, Mash. His muscles alone won't be able to cut it. It's thanks to the power of volund… Raiden is now in complete control of his muscles. By focusing his strength into both of his arms… Raiden was able to crush Shiva's arm with his bare hands.
None of this would be possible without help from Thrud… The third eldest valkyrie."
Mash scratches his head. It's a lot of information to take in, but he feels like he's got the gist of it. "True… muscle magic… Raiden really is impressive."
As impressive as Raiden was, Shiva kept attacking him. This time with more strength than before. The Hindu gods cheering him on with every second that passes by.
"I carry the hopes of all 1,116 gods…" Said Shiva. "I won't lose to you or anyone!"
From behind him, the Hindu gods began chanting.
"Here it comes! Here it comes! Here it comes! Here it comes!"
With a bellow, Shiva began to beat out an unusual time…
His footwork… was the rhythm of the cosmos, which he alone could perform. As such, it was an unpredictable and incredibly deadly war dance.
Shiva then began to start punching Raiden again. Even with one crippled arm, it was more than enough to put Raiden on the defensive. Not only that, it was beginning to get hotter.
The chanting continues.
"TA, KA, DI, MI, TA, KI, TA! TA, TIN, GI, NA, THOM!"
"Ohhh…" Mash leans closer. "I don't think he's able to handle much more."
"Mash." Said Brunhilde. "You better look again."
Mash then sees Raiden's arms expand. Shiva yells. "A SHIELD!?"
"OOH!" Heimdall yells. "Raiden focused his muscles into both his arms and put up a guard! Completely shutting Shiva out! A true… wall of flesh!"
Shiva, however, remained unfazed. As he kept attacking Raiden, his body began to combust. He then jumped in the air. "Let's finish this off!"
Mash could only stare in shock at what happened to Raiden. For a moment, he could see blood, but there were no visible open wounds. The heat from Shiva's fire had only made it worse for him.
"Well, what'd ya think?" Said Shiva as he began to slow down. "Did my dance get you fired up!?"
God… and man… Everyone there… was convinced mankind had suffered their second loss…
But Raiden Tameemon alone… softly… "Man, what a pain." Smiled.
Mash stood with his mouth hanging open. Now with more respect for Raiden than before. "Ohhh…"
I know this chapter's a bit short, but the next one will be longer. I'm sure of it.
