I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the OC known as Danielle Hopkins. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

It has been a week and a half since the petrification. Lots of things were discussed during that time especially Eda telling Danielle about what happened six years ago. Danielle was upset with Eda for a few days but was able to talk to Eda after a bit. Though whenever Aster tried to tell Danielle about her lineage and such, he was always interrupted somehow. Today though, the girls, King and Aster were dealing with a current bounty. Though Danielle had to style her hair a little different lately, basically just a half up half down style.

"Foolish child," said Garlog, his shadow displayed on the wall. "Leave this place before you meet your demise."

"Aster, wanna scare him with some shadow play?" asked Danielle, looking at Aster.

"Oh yeah," replied Collector, creeping along the floor and melding into Garlog's shadow. "Boo!"

"Aaah!" screamed Garlog, going stiff as he fell on the ground.

"His scream was cute," said Luz, grabbing Garlog.

"This is Garlog?" asked Danielle, lightly poking Garlog's belly.

"Small I may be, but you will soon know fear when I lay waste to all that you…" said Garlog, only for King to eat him whole.

"King, drop it now. Drop it now!" said Luz, before chasing after King. "Drop it! No! I'm not gonna play right now! King!"

"Sooo," said Aster, before looking at Danielle. "How's that control exercise coming along?"

"It still snaps every now and then," replied Danielle, watching Luz catch King. "But I'm getting better."

"That's good," said Aster, looking at Danielle. "Once it becomes second nature, we'll get to the next part with adding colors to it."

"Just remind me when you're doing that control exercise," said Luz, walking over. "I did not like being whipped."

"Hehehe," giggled Danielle, remembering her first attempt.

After securing their bounty, the girls, King, and Aster head back to the Owl House. Stuffing Garlog in a bottle, the girls head upstairs. Starting up a recording on her cell phone, Luz thinks of what to say to her mom.

"Hola, Mama! You haven't heard from me in a while," said Luz, lightly waving. "It's been a week and a half since the petrification ceremony. A week and a half since I destroyed the portal home."

"I destroyed it," said Danielle, flipping a page in her book. "Had to. Sorry, Mrs. Noceda."

"Oh yeah, this is Danielle Hopkins, my first friend from our realm," said Luz, gesturing to Danielle. "Guess what, she's only part human."

"I'd say Danielle is more half and yet not fully there," said Aster, looking at Luz. "Something like that."

"Percentage wise, more than fifty percent of whatever my mom is," said Danielle, flipping another page.

"This is Aster, race unknown," said Luz, gesturing to Aster. "He was sealed away a long time ago but we plan on releasing him… after we get to know him better. Very docile around Danielle for some reason."

"Because she's Lady Asteria's daughter," thought Aster, looking from Luz to Danielle. "I'm not going to get her angry at me when her magic is all wonky right now. Hehe, wonky."

"A lot has gone on and I believe somehow you'll get your memories back from that certain timeline," said Luz, nervously chuckling. "Hehe, yeah, you kinda time traveled… when you died. This isn't going like I planned. Don't worry, I will find a way back to you. A-And look! I have friends to help me."

"I'm never letting you go!" said King, clinging to Luz's leg. "You're never returning to the human realm!"

"Yeah, King has gotten really attached to Luz," said Danielle, putting her book down and scratching King to get him loose. "Like really attached."

"He doesn't mean that," said Luz, before covering the cell phone.

"Yes, I do!" said King, before succumbing to Danielle's touch. "More to the left."

"Oh, I know, I can show you around the Owl House," said Luz, picking up her cell phone. "Starting with my room with Danielle. Yeah, Danielle is more girlier than I am, as you can see with the décor."

"Wood Glyphs are very handy when getting the furniture, I want to place in here," said Danielle, holding King. "Though I also have to take in Luz's taste as well which I figured how to balance with my own."

"They tend to fight quite a bit," said King, staring at the cell phone.

"I'll just edit that part out," said Luz, before leaving the room.

And so, Luz's video tour around the Owl House commenced. From all the way from the third floor to the basement. Even introducing the residents of the Owl House. Heading towards the kitchen, the girls notice Eda trying to utilize her magic.

"This is Eda the Owl Lady, the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles," said Luz, recording Eda. "Or at least she was until her curse overpowered her and weakened her magic. She's doing her best now."

"Here Eda, let me…" said Danielle, about to grab the bottle of apple blood only for it to explode. "What's so wrong with actually pouring it yourself?"

"Oh, I know something you will like," said Luz, heading outside and showcasing a growing garden. "Me and Danielle decided to grow some fruits and veggies from home with the Plant Glyph. We started it way before Belos tried to petrify Eda. I think Abuela would be proud of me."

"And some herbs as well," said Danielle, looking at Luz. "I'd still want to grow…"

"We are not growing brussel sprouts!" said Luz, glaring at Danielle. "Try it and I'll grow okra."

"No thanks," said Danielle, walking over to the garden. "I think some are harvestable right now. What'cha think?"

"Some of the tomatoes and I think the peas," said Luz, before pointing the cell phone in a different area of the garden. "We're also growing bamboo. Danielle knows how to at least harvest and cook them."

"That bamboo dinner was delicious," said Danielle, reminiscing on a memory.

"Any who…" said Luz, pointing the recording back towards Eda who was outside now. "Even though Eda gets frustrated, she's found new ways to make up for her lost powers."

"Check it, girls! A new hunting weapon," said Eda, handling a makeshift weapon. "I will call her the Stab-Catcher."

"Without the portal, Eda has no human garbage to sell. So, we've resorted to working odd jobs to keep food on the table," said Luz, watching Eda. "Plus, the garden as I had just shown you."

"Hey, King, did you know that apple is a hat?" said Eda, aiming her weapon.

"Really?" said King, placing an apple on his head.

"King! Hey, no! King!" said Luz, about to run over only for Danielle to slide over and grab King.

"Safe!" said Danielle, getting up and dusting herself off. "Thank goodness for the years of baseball."

"No targeting King like that," said Aster, looking at Eda. "He's the only one that can release me."

"This week we're bounty hunters. Next week we could be anything," said Luz, before heading back inside and going to her room. "So, Mom, please don't be scared. I'm growing more and more every day, and I'm gonna do my best to become a full-fledged witch, and get home to you safe and sound. Te quiero, Mama. Te lo prometo, regresaré a casa pronto. Y con Danielle."

"Luz! Danielle!" shouted Eda, gaining the girls attention. "Time to bring these bad boys to market!"

"Coming," said Danielle, carrying the tablet in a homemade bag.

"I really like this bag you made," said Aster, looking at Danielle.

Heading towards Bonesborough, Eda ends up hiding her cart within an alley before grabbing the bag of bounties. The girls notice that there were more scouts and guards about than normal. Growling at the Belos statue, Danielle's magic flares up and the statue becomes dust in the wind.

"Oops," said Danielle, as Luz pushed her away. "Actually, no I'm not. The less statues of him, the better."

"Wow, the Emperor is really taking over," said Luz, looking around.

"I see it too, girls," said Eda, lugging the bag of bounties. "And I'm trying to stay civil."

"You could have let me carry that," said Danielle, watching Eda place the bag of bounties on a scale. "Or at least half of them."

"Tsk. Your payment," said the Shopkeeper, taking out a single bronze snail.

"A single snail?" said Eda, glaring at the Shopkeeper. "Are you kidding me?"

"Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't done yet," said the Shopkeeper, before breaking the bronze snail in half.

"You can't do this to me," said Eda, still glaring. "Do you know who I am?"

"Yeah, you're Eda the Owl Lady," said the Shop Keeper, nonchalantly. "What are you gonna do? We all know you're powerless now."

"Powerless, eh," said Eda, before activating a Plant Glyph around the booth and Shopkeeper. "You were saying."

"These are all the bounties we've captured," said Danielle, placing the bounty posters in front of the Shopkeeper. "And each of them have a reward that should be upheld regardless of who they are. Now unless you want us to release them into town, you'll pay us our rightful amount."

"Danielle," said Luz, pulling Danielle away from the Shopkeeper. "You need to…"

"Calm down, I know," said Danielle, huffing. "I should have had some balloon monsters on hand like Naofumi. That would get my point across as well."

"I'm guessing anime," said Luz, leading Danielle away from the stand.

"Balloon monsters? Anime?" said Aster, confused.

"You know I let you watch Bluey on my cell phone, right," said Danielle, as Aster shook his head "yes". "Well, the Japanese call their cartoons anime and there's one specific anime I was referencing there."

"Ooh," said Aster, understanding a little bit. "I'd like to watch it."

"Let's wait on that one till you're out," said Danielle, looking at Aster. "Episodes are much longer than Bluey."

"Is this…" said Luz, grabbing a poster.

"The Golden Guard," said Lilith, crumbling up the poster. "He always got special treatment because he was the genius teen prodigy. But he's really just a brat. If he's in charge... vomit."

"Is that what she really thought of me?"

"And apparently a good guy since he's in me," said Danielle, looking at Lilith.

"What?" said Lilith, looking at Danielle. "I don't remember seeing him."

"Well, he's there," said Danielle, rubbing her forehead.

"My name is Hunter."

"Hey, I know! What we need is a confidence boost. Why don't we take on the biggest bounty we can find? It'll be great!" said Luz, running over to a bulletin board. "Hmm. Lost Cerberus, no. Witch cackling lessons?"

"Oo, the Cerberus one," said Aster, pointing at the poster. "Do the Cerberus one."

"Aha!" said Luz, grabbing a certain poster. "There's something called a Selkidomus ravaging boats up and down the coast. We'll be on a high-seas adventure."

"Uh no," said Collector, crossing his arms over his chest. "Not happening."

"Do you not like selkidomus's?" asked Danielle, looking at Aster.

"I like them, they're cute," replied Aster, looking at Danielle. "I… uh… get seasick."

"Then Cerberus one it is," said Danielle, grabbing the poster.

"We gotta keep a low profile while my powers are weakened. And we need fast cash," said Eda, walking over. "How about this guy?"

"The Abominable Cutie Pie?" said Luz, looking at the poster.

"No, no, no. I hear it's very dangerous," said Eda, before gasping. "And look, there he is."

"You'll never catch…" said the Abominable Cutie Pie, before staring at where the Belos statue use to be. "What happened to the statue… aah!"

"Done," said Danielle, utilizing a Plant Glyph to grab the Abominable Cutie Pie.

"You did it. You caught me," said the Abominable Cutie Pie, sighing. "You know, it looks better without that eyesore of a statue."

"Guide me to the next one than…" said Danielle, only for Luz to grab the Abominable Cutie Pie and placed him near the bounty stand.

"Here," said the Shopkeeper, handing over a bag of coins.

"Things aren't looking great, Lily. This bounty hunting stuff isn't putting food on the table. I know the girls have the garden but they need protein too. Oh, I'm sure the girls could handle bigger bounties, but Danielle's chest pains are flaring up more often," said Eda, listening to Lilith's mumbled replies. "No apple blood. I spent the money on griffin eggs for the girls. There's not a lot they can digest here, so I make sure to have their favorites around."

"This is awful. Eda wouldn't be in this situation if it weren't for us. Maybe it would be better if we never came here," said Luz, leaning against a building.

"I feel the same way," said Danielle, looking at Luz.

"We can't change the past, but we can still change the future. We're gonna help Eda and prove that we're more than just a burden," said Luz, before grabbing a specific poster.

"Luz, wait up," said Danielle, following after Luz. "Where ya going?"

"Is that…" said Aster, seeing where Luz was going. "Nooo! Please, not the sea! I don't wanna get sick!"

"Luz, maybe rethink…" said Danielle, only for Luz to point at the reward on the poster. "A million snails!"

"Probably Belos wanting its scales to make a new Grimwalker," said Aster, looking at Danielle and Luz. "Looks like he's wanting a new replacement."

"Not good," said Danielle, paling a bit.

"Well, time to get your sea legs Team Aqua," said Luz, linking arms with Danielle. "We'll figure something out."

"Wait!" said Aster, as Luz guided Danielle towards Cap'n Salty. "Please, reconsider."

"The Selkidomus hunt," said Luz, placing the poster in front of Cap'n Salty. "We want in."

"You think you can handle this, squirts?" asked Cap'n Salty, staring at Danielle and Luz.

"We can handle anything," said Luz, as Cap'n Salty tossed two sets of clothes towards her and Danielle.

Finding a cabin, the girls head inside as King holds the tablet. Aster and King were blushing up a storm as the girls giggled as they changed. Walking out, the girls find out that their outfits really didn't fit.

"This is embarrassing," said Danielle, holding the ripped shirt closed in the front. "They're too tight."

"Too tight?" said Luz, staring at Danielle. "These are too baggy."

"Could it just be you two got the others by mistake?" asked King, looking away from the girls.

"Oh," said Danielle and Luz, before heading back in and swapping clothes.

"I think you stretched them," said Luz, walking out. "At least they still fit."

"Let's forget that ever happened," said Danielle, with a slight blush.

"I'm really going on the ship, aren't I," said Aster, staring at Danielle.

"Maybe I can distract you from feeling like you're on the ship," said Danielle, looking at Aster as she placed the bag back on.

"How?" asked Aster, looking at Danielle.

"I'll figure something out," replied Danielle, gripping the bag strap. "I know I will."

"When we defeat the Selkidomus and get a boatload of snails, Eda won't have to worry about money for a long time," said Luz, as the ship set sail.

"King want a cracker!" said King, enjoying the breeze.

"I'm already not feeling good," said Aster, staying close to Danielle.

"All hands!" shouted Cap'n Salty, gaining everyone's attention. "Alright, crew. The Selkidomus has been ravaging the coastline. It was last seen in the Simmering Shoals. You know the drill, "Snag the quarry, get the money galore-y." We all do the work, we all get a cut."

"… …" said Danielle and Luz, staring at the bag of snails.

"Till then, keep everything shipshape. This ain't no pleasure cruise," said Cap'n Salty, before tossing a broom at Danielle and Luz. "Don't be a burden, sea squirts."

"Aye Cap'n," said Danielle, gripping the broom.

"Please don't tell me you know pirate talk too," said Luz, staring at Danielle.

"It was for a school project," said Danielle, looking at Luz. "And it only lasted that long."

And so, the girls got to work doing the various chores Cap'n Salty put them though. And through it all, Danielle was humming a song hoping it would help Aster. At one point, Danielle started actually singing it. Recognizing the song, Luz gains a grin and sings along.

Yo hohoho, yo hohoho Yo hohoho, yo hohoho

Yo hohoho, yo hohoho Yo hohoho, yo hohoho

Gather up all of the crew, it's time to ship out Binks' brew.

Sea wind blows, to where, who knows? The waves will be our guide.

O'er across the ocean's tide. Rays of sunshine far and wide.

Birds they sing, of cheerful things, in circles passing by.

Bid farewell to weaver's town, say so long to port renowned.

Sing a song, it won't be long, before we're casting off.

Cross the gold and silver seas, a salty spray puts us at ease,

Day and night, to our delight, the voyage never ends.

Gather up all of the crew, it's time to ship out Binks' brew.

Pirates, we eternally are challenging the sea.

With the waves to rest our heads, ship beneath us as our beds,

hoisted high upon the mast, our jolly roger flies.

Somewhere in the endless sky, stormy winds are blowing by,

waves are dancing, evening comes, it's time to sound the drums.

But steady men, and never fear, tomorrow's skies are always clear.

So pound your feet and clap your hands 'til sunny days return.

Yo hohoho, yo hohoho Yo hohoho, yo hohoho

Yo hohoho, yo hohoho Yo hohoho, yo hohoho

Gather up all of the crew, it's time to ship out Binks' brew.

Wave goodbye, but don't you cry, our memories remain.

Our days are but a passing dream, everlasting though they seem.

Beneath the moon we'll meet again, the wind's our lullaby.

Gather up all of the crew, it's time to ship out Binks' brew.

Sing a song, and play along for all the oceans wide.

After all is said and done, you'll end up a skeleton,

so spread your tale from dawn 'til dusk upon these foamy seas.

Yo hohoho, yo hohoho…Yo hohoho, yo hohoho…

Yo hohoho, yo hohoho…Yo hohoho, yo hohoho…

Yo hohoho, yo hohoho…Yo hohoho, yo hohoho…

Yo hohoho, yo hohoho…Yo hohoho, yo hohoho…

By the end of the song, Danielle and Luz were laughing. The song had actually had the effect Danielle wanted. It got Aster's attention off of feeling on a ship and smiling alongside King. Even Cap'n Salty and the rest of the crew were impressed and had at one point started dancing like the girls did during the song.

"Lovely little shanty there. 'ave no idea what Bink's Brew be but I love to try it," said Cap'n Salty, clapping the girls on their backs. "Well, ye had me confront my own biases and I got nothing but respect for ya now, squirts. I mean, sailors."

"Thanks, Cap'n," said Danielle, a very slight blush on her face. "Just doin' our own fair share o' the work 'ere."

"That was amazing!" said Aster, staring at Danielle and Luz. "You two were so in sync there."

"I think we can show you the video when we get back," said Luz, looking at Aster. "It's from an anime back home."

"Not only video games but anime now," said Aster, sighing. "There's so much I've missed since being sealed away."

"Don't worry," said Danielle, trying to pull Aster into a hug. "We'll catch you up on certain things."

"Okay," said Aster, happy and excited. "Hey, where'd King go?"

"Probably found some crackers to eat," replied Luz, looking around. "He couldn't have gotten far."

"Look," said Danielle, pointing towards some wrecked ships.

"We're here. The Simmering Shoals. Eyes peeled, mates," said Cap'n Salty, before they come upon the ships, crashed and burning. "She's close."

"Whoa!" said Danielle, the ship being hit by the Selkidomus. "She be a fighter."

"If what Aster said is correct, we got to find a way to keep her safe without hurting her," said Luz, looking at Danielle. "We can't let Belos make another Grimwalker of a Golden Guard."

"Meaning the current one is in danger," said Danielle, before looking towards the Selkidomus. "But why would the Selkidomus be rampaging lately?"

"Oh, Eda's here," said Aster, spotting Eda on the ship after an explosion happened.

"And she has the booty," said Danielle, seeing Eda hop off the ship with the bag of snails. "Let's follow."

Activating an Ice Glyph, Danielle and Luz jump down and land down on the block of ice. Seeing the Selkidomus heading towards an island, Luz sets off a Fire Glyph and Danielle a Wind Glyph for propulsion towards their destination. Since the Wind Glyph added for extra speed, the girls were able to get to the island much faster than they thought. Jumping off the block of ice, the girls confront Eda.

"Eda," said Danielle and Luz, staring at Eda.

"Hey," said Eda, sheepishly chuckling.

"Why are you robbing our ship?" asked Luz, looking at Eda.

"I could ask you the same thing," said Eda, eyeing the girls. "Now, why were you on that ship to begin with? You coulda' gotten killed!"

"That can still be arranged," said the Golden Guard, surfacing from the Boiling Seas. "Hello, criminals. What's about to happen should be relatively painless, if you just do what I say."

"And why would we do that?" asked Luz, glaring at the Golden Guard.

"Besides the half witch over there," said the Golden Guard, pointing at Danielle. "None of you can use real magic."

"Glyph magic is ancient and are apart of spell circles nowadays," said Aster, glaring at the Golden Guard. "People just can't see them anymore but they're there. And you know what, magic is mixed to get the end result like with abominations and healing."

"Now I know who took you," said the Golden Guard, staring at Aster than Danielle. "To think you would steal away Emperor Belos's spirit."

"Steal!?" said Aster, glaring at the Golden Guard.

"I didn't steal! I saved him!" shouted Danielle, glaring at the Golden Guard. "And he's a lot more happier with us."

"So true," said Aster, agreeing with Danielle.

"Well, I'll be taking him back," said the Golden Guard, eyeing Aster. "And you'll get the rat back."

"King!" shouted Eda, Aster and the girls, seeing that the Golden Guard had King in a cage.

"What the…" said the Golden Guard, seeing a spectral version of himself come off Danielle. "What's going on? Stay away or I'll…"

"They are more trustworthy than Belos," said the Ethereal Hunter, hugging the Golden Guard. "You can trust them."

"Get off," said the Golden Guard, as the Ethereal Hunter merged with him making him shudder. "Oh my, that felt weird."

"Okay, time to hide the money," thought Danielle, sinking the bag of snails near a boulder.

"So wrong," said the Golden Guard, still shuddering. "Okay, the human and half breed will remain a sailor to repay all the money they lost, while the Owl Lady will be arrested, again, for attacking one of the Emperor's ships."

"Emperor's ship?!" said Danielle and Luz, looking at Eda. "Now it makes sense."

"See what I mean," said Eda, before staring at the Golden Guard. "Why are you guys hunting the Selkidomus? It's a peaceful creature, and you're provoking it!"

"The Emperor ordered me to slay one. I'm just following orders," said the Golden Guard, looking at everyone."

"Uuh, 'cause he's gonna replace you Grimwalker," said Aster, looking at the Golden Guard. "Why do you think he sent you to gather its scales?"

"Grimwalker?!" said the Golden Guard, staring at Aster. "I'm me and no one else you little brat. How your uncle's spirit is beyond me."

"That's 'cause I'm not," said Aster, glaring at the Golden Guard.

"Okay, I had enough," said the Golden Guard, pointing his staff at King. "No one will have to be a sailor or get arrested, if one of you follows those Selkidomus tracks and slays the beast. Here! I'll help!"

"Slay?" said Danielle, backing away from the sword that was conjured.

"Ugh, you're making this difficult..." said the Golden Guard, looking at Danielle and Luz. "Go, or I drown the bird."

"Weh?" said King, waking up.

"You meanie!" said Aster, glaring at the Golden Guard.

"Luz, wait," said Danielle, seeing Luz grab the sword and walking after her. "Luz!"

"Look, I need to be the one to do this," said Luz, staring at Danielle. "We can't afford for you to be in stress or anything like that. See, you're breathing heavy already."

"Luz has a point," said Eda, catching up to the girls. "But you shouldn't either."

"You heard what he said, Eda. If you and King want to be free... then I have to do this alone," said Luz, looking at Eda.

"You're not alone Luz," said Danielle, looking at Luz.

"Then why do you still keep everyone at arm's length?" asked Luz, staring at Danielle.

"I… uh…" said Danielle, not able to find the words.

"Don't you remember? Us weirdos have to…" said Eda, looking at Luz.

"What? Stick together? Because you stuck with us, you lost your magic. You almost got turned to stone, and now you can't even afford your apple blood because you're worried about what we need to eat," said Luz, staring at Eda. "It's our fault all this happened. That's why I'm doing this alone. I'll make it all up to you, Eda the Owl Lady. I promise."

"Luz!" said Eda, Danielle and Aster, as Luz falls backwards off a mast.

Panicking, Danielle follows after Luz, jumping off the edge. Tuning into her magic, Danielle was able to produce a wind that grabbed hold of her and Luz, preventing them from falling too hard. Landing on top of the Selkidomus, it flings the girls off it before attacking them.

"This is not gonna be easy," said Danielle, pulling Luz behind a plank as one of the spines nick Luz's shoulder.

"I said I had this handled," said Luz, before activating an Ice Glyph and jumping off an ice pillar.

"Luz!" said Danielle, conjuring forth some wind to catch Luz only for Eda to swing in, tackling them into a covering of seaweed. "Eda."

"You think throwing your life away is gonna help me? Well, it won't," said Eda, staring at Danielle and Luz. "Look, you two helped me find King's crown when you barely knew me. You saved me from turning to stone and you even got me talking to my sister again, somehow. So, unfortunately for you, my life is pretty great, because I'm friends with Danielle and Luz, the human and half human."

"Eda," said Danielle and Luz, tearing up a little.

"Now, someone here has to calm down," said Eda, flicking Danielle's forehead.

"Whoa, no," said Aster, getting in front of everyone as the Selkidomus eyed them. "I won't let you harm them and the princess."

"Stop laughing," said Danielle, hearing Eda and Luz hold their laughter back.

"Can someone check to see what's in there?" asked Aster, looking at everyone. "I can sense another presence in there with you guys."

"There is?" said Luz, before hearing a sound and a baby Selkidomus crawled out.

"Selki-spheal," said Danielle, cooing at the sight of the baby Selkidomus, while ignoring the pains in her chest.

"I think we can use some shadow play like what I did with Garlog," said Aster, looking at everyone.

"We do have plenty of Light Glyphs," said Eda, grabbing her stash.

"And Plant Glyphs," said Luz, holding her glyphs. "I have an idea. Danielle, you rest here with selki-spheal."

"Mmm, baby… huh?" said Danielle, before seeing Luz and Eda walk away and initiate their plan. "Wait, I can help."

"Danielle, you need to rest," said Eda, as Luz utilized the Plant Glyph to make a Selkidomus construct from seaweed.

"I can't just sit on the sidelines," said Danielle, before covering her nose. "Whoa, that thing is pungent."

"Let us handle this," said Luz, as Light Glyphs were placed on the construct before it starting moving.

"Danielle, they're right you know," said Aster, looking at Danielle.

"I know but…" said Danielle, biting her quivering lower lip before running after Luz as she exited the cave. "Luz!"

"Danielle, what are you…" said Luz, staring at Danielle.

"Oh, that thing smells awful," said the Golden Guard, staring at Danielle and Luz. "Why are you touching it with your hands? Gross."

"You're gross," said Luz, a little heated. "Now give us King."

"Actually, he smells pretty bad too. Take him," said the Golden Guard, tossing the cage with King in it.

"Jerk," said Danielle, before her bag and the tablet were pulled from her via the Golden Guard's magic staff. "Noo!"

"Thanks for giving back the emperor's spirit," said the Golden Guard, mounting his staff and flying away. "Bye-eeee!"

"No no no-no-no," said Danielle, teary eyed and breathing heavy. "I won't let you take him!"

"Danielle!" shouted Luz, as Danielle flew in the direction the Golden Guard went.

With markings and eyes glowing brightly, Danielle pinpoints the Golden Guard. Anger getting the best of her, Danielle blasts towards him making the Golden Guard lose control. A little air battle between the two commenced, making Aster worried as he could see the strain it was putting on Danielle.

"Give him back!" shouted Danielle, kicking the Golden Guard in the chest and grabbing her bag and tablet. "You won't take him!"

"Danielle! Please, calm down!" said Aster, only to see the Golden Guard electrocute Danielle.

"Aaah!" screamed Danielle, before losing consciousness and gripping the tablet close as she plummeted towards the Boiling Sea below.

"I'll get uncle's spirit next time," said the Golde Guard, flying away.

"Danielle, wake up! Please, wake up," said Aster, before seeing Eda fly by and grabbing Danielle. "Eda!"

"What happened?" asked Eda, positioning Danielle better.

"He electrocuted her!" replied Aster, looking at Eda and worried for Danielle.

"What a day this has been," said Eda, brushing a lock of Danielle's hair to the side. "It's time to head home."

"Danielle hid the snails near a boulder, I saw her do it," said Aster, looking at Eda as they flew back towards the island and Luz. "See, right over there with the swirl mark."

"Luz, grab the booty," said Eda, as Luz activated a Plant Glyph to pull the bag of snails out before looking towards the Mother Selkidomus and their baby in the cave. "This area is dangerous. You need to move further out into the sea."

"Danielle would think ew if she saw that," said Luz, seeing the Mother Selkidomus regurgitate selkigris.

"Hot dang! It gave you the treasure of the sea," said Eda, staring at the selkigris. "It's selkigris. Ah, people pay big money for it at the Night Market."

"How are we to take it back?" asked Luz, looking at Eda.

"Here," said Aster, shaping his shadow form over the sand into a giant glyph combo. "It's a Teleportation Glyph. All you got to do is think of where you want to go."

"Oy!" shouted Cap'n Salty, from his ship.

"Cap'n Salty?" said Luz, staring at Cap'n Salty on his ship.

"Me memories an' me crew's memories be aft," shouted Cap'n Salty, waving to everyone. "Keep the quarry. We'll goin' mainland fer a bit."

"Bye Cap'n Salty," said Luz, waving goodbye to Cap'n Salty and the crew before turning to drawing the glyph combo in the sand. "This is a big glyph combo."

"It's one of the more complex ones I remember," said Aster, shifting back to his normal shadow self.

"Alright, home here we come," said Luz, activating the Teleportation Glyph and appearing in the Owl House with everyone else. "We're back."

"How ever did you do that?" asked Lilith, staring at everyone as she was applying ointment to Hooty.

"We got a new glyph combo," said Luz, before gesturing to Aster. "Courtesy of Aster."

"You're welcome," said Aster, with a slight blush. "Is Danielle gonna…"

"She needs to rest and recover right now," said Eda, placing Danielle on the couch. "Let's get takeout tonight."

"Nothing with seafood," said Luz, looking at Eda.

"Me and Luz will deal with the selkigris," said King, looking at Eda.

"And I'll…" said Aster, hovering close to Danielle. "Will watch the princess."

"I think a little someone is a smitten kitten," said Hooty, staring at Aster.

"I am not," said Aster, before becoming confused. "What's a smitten kitten?"

"Aster, slow down," said King, trying to catch up to Aster in the hallway.

"It's morning, so it's time to play," said Aster, before coming upon the girls room. "Danielle. Luz. Wake up, it's time…"

"Aster, wait!" said King, seeing that Aster slid under the closed door. "Oh boy."

"Aah!" squeaked Danielle, noticing Aster in the room.

"See what I mean," said King, seeing Aster hurry out of the room quickly.

"Could have warned me sooner," said Aster, with a blush on his face before the door was opened. "H-h-hi Danielle."

"I think you need to know the house rules," said Danielle, glaring at Aster.

"… …" said Aster, gulping.

"So bored," said Aster, dangling from the couch before looking at Danielle. "Say princess, what do you do for fun?"

"Princess?" said Danielle, staring at Aster as she looked away from her book. "I am so not a princess. Where'd that even come from?"

"Well…" said Aster, hearing the others silently chucklingly in the room.

"That's cute and all but…" said Danielle, looking at Aster. "Please don't call me that."

"But you are," said Aster, looking at Danielle. "You're a princess."

"If you get to call me princess…" said Danielle, staring at Aster. "Then I get to call you little prince."

"How'd you…" said Aster, blushing.

"Wait, you're an actual prince?!" said Danielle, shocked.

"Cool," said King, wagging his tail.

"Well, yeah," said Aster, still blushing while poking his index fingers together.

"Well, prince of the stars," said Danielle, looking at Aster. "Don't maiden chick beam any of us girls."

"Maiden chick beam?" said Aster, confused

"If ya gonna call me princess, don't say it around a lot of people," said Danielle, sighing. "It's a little… embarrassing."

"Okay," said Aster, looking at Danielle. "Then… could you not call me little prince so often. I like how you all treat me right now."

"Sure," said Danielle, smiling.

"Okay, let's see if this works," said Danielle, grabbing two Light Glyphs.

"Ooo, something new," said Aster, as Danielle hold her hands up against his. "Huh?"

"Shadows need light, so…" said Danielle, activating the glyphs before sparkles crawled up Aster's hands and body.

"Whoa," said Aster, staring at himself. "So cool. Why do this?"

"I wanted to see…" said Danielle, pushing her hand against Aster's hand. "If it would work. Can you feel it? My touch?"

"Yeah," said Aster, moving his hand alongside Danielle's own. "This is…"

"I'm glad I found a way for you to interact more with us," said Danielle, before Aster hugged her. "Aster?"

"Thank you," said Aster, sniffling in happiness. "Thank you."

"You're welcome, Aster," said Danielle, hugging Aster back.

"Okay, first control exercise is a basic one," said Aster, making shadowy strings between his fingers. "It requires a lot of focus and concentration."

"String figures?" said Danielle, staring at the cat's cradle Aster did.

"Start off with one string and build it up," said Aster, looking at Danielle.

"Like this?" asked Danielle, getting a small string of her magic going.

"That's good," said Aster, not noticing Danielle making it longer. "Now, you got to be careful since you're just beginning. It will snap…"

"Yeow!" shouted Luz, as Danielle's magic string snapped and struck her butt. "Danielle!"

"Sorry," said Danielle, holding back a laugh while paling a bit. "So sorry."

"Yeah, that will happen if you lose focus and such," said Aster, looking at Danielle. "It can be really painful. I would know."

"Noted," said Danielle, starting up the control exercise again.

"It's good that she's learning it but…" thought Aster, watching Danielle. "What did Luz call it… it will be shot when she fully ascends, she'll have to start all over with getting her magic under control."

Leaving Aster with Luz and King for a bit, Danielle checks out a storage closet. Looking for what she needs, Danielle looks at the rolls of fabric before her. Rubbing her fingers against a few, Danielle settles on a few before looking elsewhere. Seeing jars of buttons and beads, Danielle grabs them before secretly hiding in a different room.

"Okay, items acquired," said Danielle, placing the items down. "With Francois as a template, I can make Aster a plush toy. Maybe I can make some attire for the toy as well. Now what to make the toy as. Dog. Cat. Maybe a bunny like Francois."
