I don't own Disney's The Owl House. I do, however own the OC known as Danielle Hopkins. Hope you all enjoy my story on this lovely show.

Chapter Thirty-Six

It has been a few days since the Gland Prix. Danielle was still regressed as a three year old child. Everyone was wondering how much longer she was going to be like that. Luz was still nursing a light bruise from a couple days ago when Danielle kicked in her sleep. Hooty though, was typing up a letter to send to Lilith, detailing every little bit that has happened since she left.

"How we doin', Hoot House?" asked Hooty, seeing everyone in the living room near the couch.

"I wanna go home," said Danielle, whining. "I miss my mom and dad."

"Can you keep it down?" asked King, as his voice kept cracking. "Down! Down! Why does this keep happening?"

"Sounds like our little demon is becoming a "de-man"!" said Hooty, approaching King as Danielle stared at him.

"Ugh! Why does that sound so wrong coming from you?" said King, voice still cracking while pushing Hooty away. "You! I am done with this!"

"Hahaha!" said Hooty, looking at Eda. "Those teens, eh? Their moods change like the wind. Whoa!"

"I'm freaking out, Hooty. Belos is planning something big, and I'm weaker than a newborn witchling," said Eda, with clothespins holding her eyes open. "If I wanna protect you guys, I have to train as hard as I can to get strong! No rest!"

"But every time you overwork yourself, you turn into the Owl Beast!" said Hooty, stating a fact.

"I said no rest!" said Eda, blowing an air horn, to which Danielle covered her ears and irritating Luz.

"Too loud," said Danielle, before falling off the couch with a squeak.

"Can you please be quiet? You're scaring the echo mouse. And if he's not happy, I'll never make my way into Amity's heart," said Luz, realizing what she just said and blushing. "I mean make a portal back home. Uh, we have to go."

"Lumity," said Danielle, pointing at Luz.

"Stop that," said Luz, peering at Danielle before heading upstairs.

"I'm bored… and hungry," said Danielle, kicking her feet about. "Hooty?"

"Just gonna do something," said Hooty, going into the kitchen.

Shrugging it off, Danielle just lazed about before grabbing some papers and crayons and started drawing. Hearing a ding after a certain amount of time, Danielle heads into the kitchen and sees Tinella taking a crumble out of the oven and over to the tower while placing a tray of cookies in for Hooty.

"What was that?" asked Danielle, hearing and feeling the soundwaves King gave off. "I feel funny."

Unsteadily getting up, Danielle heads upstairs. Going down a hallway, Danielle spots Eda and follows her. Smelling cookies nearby, Danielle sneaks pass Eda and sees a plate of cookies that Hooty had left behind. Running over and grabbing two cookies, Danielle is about to eat them before Eda comes down the hallway.

"Me? Sleep? Ha! Not until I can call myself the most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles once again!" said Eda, before spotting Danielle. "What do you got there?"

"Cookie," replied Danielle, biting into a cookie and handing one over to Eda. "Want one? They look like Hooty's face."

"Hmm... "A reward for all your hard work! Love, Hooty"?" said Eda, reading the note on the plate. "Hmm. Not a bad idea. I could use the fuel. Dang, owl boy can bake."

"Yummy!" said Danielle, finishing the cookie before feeling sleepy. "Mmmm."

"Sleeping nettles?" said Eda, seeing something in the cookies.

"Yup! One bite will put you to sleep for hours!" said Hooty, bursting through the floor before seeing Danielle fall to the floor asleep.

"Sleeping nettles don't just put you to sleep, they heighten your dreams! Do you realize who you just stuck me with?" said Eda, staring at Hooty. "Hooty, don't let me fall asleep!"

"Yup! One bite will put you to sleep for hours!" said Hooty, only for Eda to realize this Hooty was just a dream version. "For hours! For hours!"

"You know, maybe this is an opportunity. The Owl Beast is why I ran away from home. The Owl Beast is why I never got close to anyone. And the Owl Beast..." said Eda, before seeing the Owl Beast nearby with floating spheres around it. "Has my memories."

The Owl Beast stares at Eda for quite a while before lowering a memory to Eda. Seeing various memories play and not just her own but of the Owl Beast itself, Eda comes to realize that the Owl Beast is not all that bad. Taking an elixir out of its mane, the Owl Beast holds it out as Eda accepts and drinks it. The memories swirl around the two as Eda and the Owl Beast come to an understanding.

As for Danielle, looking around and seeing quite the landscape, she noticed she's her usual self. Standing up, Danielle walks around adoring the beauty before parting some wisteria to see her mom near a sparkling sphere.

"Mom…" said Danielle, seeing her mom turn around before running over and embracing her. "Mom!"

"Oh, my little star," said Aria, letting Danielle cry. "My how you've grown."

"No, don't call me that. Don't ever… you lost that right to call me that," said Danielle, pulling away and looking up at Aria. "What gives you the right? You left me and dad. What made you not come back to us? You could have just come back after beating up the Owl Beast's feathery ass. So why?"

"It was to protect you from my parents and the rest of my family," said Aria, placing her hands on Danielle's shoulders. "I was expanding my magic enough that they would have noticed me from this realm."

"How would that have been bad?" asked Danielle, staring at her mom. "I would have loved to know about your side of the family. To know more about you. To know how to handle my magic."

"And they would have accelerated your ascension. You wouldn't look like you are now. You would still be looking like an eight year old," said Aria, looking at her daughter who was confused. "Our kind age differently. And with you already beginning to ascend…"

"What's gonna become of me?" asked Danielle, tears streaming down her face. "What am I? Who am I? I don't even know who I am or what I'm supposed to be anymore."

"You're Danielle Hopkins, daughter of Jacob Hopkins and…" said Aria, looking at her daughter. "And Asteria, Empress of Morning Star Palace."

"So… when Aster called me princess… he was actually…" said Danielle, before groaning. "Noo. I am soo not ready for such a thing. I don't wanna be a princess."

"You don't have to worry about that for a while," said Aria, looking at her daughter. "I plan on keeping you a secret as long as I can."

"What else is gonna happen to me?" asked Danielle, looking at her mom. "I've never felt full whenever I ate back home. And know ever since I destroyed the Portal Door, I've been even more hungry. I try not to eat more than anyone else cause I don't want to worry them but my stomach growls up a storm."

"Yeah, food down here doesn't really fill us up," said Aria, looking at Danielle. "It's more like those meals were there's barely anything on your plate. Which reminds me, you've been eating too much chocolate and French fries lately."

"You've been watching," said Danielle, blushing.

"By the time you fully ascend, you'll be around my height when I was your age," said Aria, sitting down and leaning back. "Puberty will grind to a halt till you hit the equivalent years to the age you look."

"Great, I'm stuck at fourteen," asked Danielle, sitting down as well. "How long will it take?"

"Many many years," replied Aria, looking at the sky. "By the time Aster hits his teen years, you should start aging normally."

"Wait, this means…" said Danielle, before getting excited. "Hell yeah, those monthly cycles and cramps will come to an end."

"Till you hit that age again," said Aria, chuckling slightly.

"Crap!" shouted Danielle, laying down on the ground.

"Language young lady," said Aria, looking at her daughter. "You don't have to worry about deaging. If you did, you'd be back to be a toddling toddler."

"No thanks," said Danielle, blanching at the thought before looking at the sparkling sphere. "The other me is in there, isn't she?"

"That she is," said Aria, looking towards the sparkling sphere.

"Would she be willing to merge back with me?" asked Danielle, standing up and walking over to the sparkling sphere. "What happened to make her consider going back in time?"

"That is something you'll have to discover for yourself," said Aria, looking at her daughter. "When you get back home, tell Jacob hi and that I still love him."

"I will," said Danielle, lightly wiping the tear stains on her face away.

"And also tell Skye that she has the go ahead," said Aria, confusing Danielle. "Remember when I told you to never let anyone to taste your blood?"

"Yeah," said Danielle, still confused.

"Skye got ahold of your blood that year when she licked at your injury," said Aria, looking at her daughter. "Our blood can't be ingested without killing. Meaning Skye literally died."

"She didn't die. She didn't," said Danielle, looking at her mom. "She came back home. The vet made her better."

"Danielle, you're still blocking that part of your memory," said Aria, placing her hands on her daughter's shoulders. "Skye died that day. You were deeply hurt. So, I did the unthinkable. Something that my kind…"

"Is taboo…forbidden," said Danielle, looking up at her mom.

"You could say that," said Aria, looking at her daughter. "I was able to save her but it altered her make up. I ended up making her tag into a concealment to hide herself. The only difference in appearance is basically her fur color."

"So, when I caught Skye reading the newspaper…" said Danielle, thinking back to a few years ago.

"She was actually reading. Skye can perform magic. She can speak," said Aria, looking at Danielle. "And most of all… Skye has helped you more when I couldn't be there for you."

"Skye…" said Danielle, thinking of her cat. "If that's the case, then she can start using the toilet so we don't have to constantly buy kitty litter. That stuff is getting expensive."

"Danielle," said Aria, looking at her daughter. "Want to meet your past self?"

"Kinda," said Danielle, looking to the side. "But I want to know how you got better at cooking. Dad said your cooking sucked when you two met."

"Part of the memories I suppressed, which I will undo when we physically meet again," said Aria, looking at her daughter. "I studied in a different realm under Senzaemon Nakiri and Jōichirō Saiba among some others."

"Mom," said Danielle, looking at her mom. "Those are anime characters."

"My sweet little star," said Aria, placing her hand on top of her daughter's head. "That world is real. And maybe some others I won't tell you."

"Heke?" said Danielle, flabbergasted.

"Hey," said Danny, standing behind a tree. "Can I…"

"You!" said Danielle, walking over to Danny.

"Danielle, sweetie, stop," said Aria, stopping her daughter.

"But she knows what's to happen," said Danielle, looking at her mom. "She's been the main voice in my head. She's…"

"Your past life," said Aria, looking at her daughter. "And she's scared. She has every right to be."

"Sorry," said Danielle, huffing while looking away.

"Your mom told me quite a bit about you," said Danny, walking out behind the tree. "Likes, dislikes, etcetera."

"Mom," said Danielle, eyeing her mom.

"We share the same first name," said Danny, looking at Danielle. "And the same birthday just… different years."

"You got to be kidding me," said Danielle, pinching the bridge of her nose. "What year?"

"1985," replied Danielle, looking at Danielle. "I'm very sor…"

"Time to see if the other me will merge," said Danielle, going over to the sparkling sphere and placing her hand on it.

"Go away," said the Other Danielle, curled up. "Just go away."

"Not happening," said Danielle, looking at the other her. "I deserve to know what happened."

"I should have never been here! And because of what I've done…" said the Other Danielle, curling in more. "You'll just end up…"

"The Boiling Isles are in danger!" shouted Danielle, looking at her other self. "Its people don't deserve to die! You have to…"

"Because this is our island… these are the people we love…" said Danny, walking over and touching the sparkly sphere. "I know you love that game series. Don't you want to protect… keep this realm safe from Belos?"

"Danielle, sweetie, look at me," said Aria, looking at the Other Danielle as she looked her way. "I know I haven't been around these last few years but I can see, you going to this realm has really helped you. It helped you to grow, learn a little more about yourself…"

"I shoudn't have learned anything!" shouted the Other Danielle, covering her ears. "I don't know who or what I am anymore! I shouldn't have learned about my lineage! I shouldn't…"

"But you did. It happened and nothing can change it," said Aria, looking at the Other Danielle and her daughter. "You are my daughter, and I love every part of you."

"Mom," said Danielle and the Other Danielle, looking at Aria.

"Now, will you merge with your current self?" asked Aria, looking at the Other Danielle.

"But… Belos… Phi…" said the Other Danielle, curling in on herself. "I'm scared."

"I know you are," said Aria, looking at the Other Danielle. "I can't leave yet but you can. Belos has to be stopped. If not, this will impact the Earth you were born on as well."

"Huh?" said Danielle and Other Danielle, confused.

"There is a delicate balance between these two realms. Should one fall…" said Aria, looking at her daughter and Other Danielle. "There will be dire consequences in the other. They need each other to survive."

"Fine… I'll do it," said the Other Danielle, lowering to the ground and coming face to face with the current her. "I'm scared… like really scared but I don't want to be the cause for two realms to fall. So, I'll do it."

"Thank you," said Aria, hugging the Other Danielle. "You are my brave strong little girl."

"Just please return after this. I just feel… so lost without you," said the Other Danielle, crying into Aria. "Please."

"I will," said Aria, pulling her daughter into the hug as well. "I promise I will. But Eda is not taking my position of mom from me. I'm the only mom you'll ever need."

"Right," said Other Danielle, pulling away and looking at Danielle. "I'm ready."

Taking a deep breath, both Danielle's walk toward each other, hesitant before holding hands and letting their foreheads touch. A sparkling whirlwind encases and lifts them up before shining brightly, signifying a complete merge. Waking up in the Owl House, Danielle sits up and checks that she's back to normal. Feeling the Owl House shaking, Danielle heads downstairs and opens the front door.

"What the?!" said Danielle, seeing everyone outside. "What's going on?"

"Danielle!" said Eda, Luz and King, looking at Danielle. "You're back to normal."

"As normal as I'm gonna be," said Danielle, before Hooty popped out of the ground.

"I failed you all!" shouted Hooty, bawling his eyes out. "I failed you all!"

"Failed?" said Danielle, wondering what Hooty meant.

"No, no, no, Hooty. You actually weirdly helped me," said Eda, reassuring Hooty. "I'm like a harpy woman now."

"Actually, you look more like a tengu," said Danielle, looking at Eda's new form.

"And I can explode things with my voice powers!" said King, proudly.

"I was able to merge with that Other me," said Danielle, before holding her head. "Granted, I now have a headache the size of the isles."

"Been there," said Eda, King, Luz and Amity, sighing.

"But I still failed Luz!" shouted Hooty, still crying.

"Luz, what was Hooty trying to do?" asked Eda, looking at Luz.

"Quick! Pretend he helped you, before he destroys everything," said King, looking at Luz.

"He was trying to help me ask Amity out," said Luz, ushering and whispering to Eda, King and Danielle.

"I think this can help," said Danielle, taking out a ripped piece of paper and handing it to Amity. "I think it's finally time."

"… …" said Amity, taking a deep breath in and holding out the ripped piece of paper. "Luz, would you like to be my girlfriend?"

"This is from… Amity…" said Luz, blushing as she unfurled the ripped piece of paper. "This is from Grom night. That long?"

"Well yeah, it slowly grew but yeah," said Amity, blushing up a storm. "I may had have a little one with Danielle but it's mostly you… Luz."

"I have no idea what my future holds, but it would be so cool if you were in it, so, uh..." said Luz, holding Amity's hands. "Yes, yes I would love to be your girlfriend."

"And my work here is done," said Danielle, as Eda folded a wing around her. "Now I just need to go to sleep and let my memories sort themselves out."

"Why is this still so scary?" asked Luz, looking at her's and Amity's hands while blushing.

"I don't know," replied Amity, blushing just as much as Luz.

"Dang, Hooty, you really are something," said Eda, as Hooty now cries tears of joys before seeing Danielle slump to the ground as tears were forming. "Danielle, are you…"

"Oh, my goodness… Oh god no," said Danielle, as certain images flash through her head. "Aster was gonna be released today… and ye-yet…"

"Danielle," said Eda, Luz and King, looking at Danielle, concerned.

"He's in that castle under Belos's grasp," said Danielle, crying. "Aster was supposed to be released today! Today! And he's not!"

"We'll get him out of there," said Eda, folding her wings around everyone. "That's a promise."

"Aster," said Danielle, in a low whisper.

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny- when Danny tries to talk to the Other Danielle in the sparkling sphere, she's trying to recite and remember what Aden and Sonja said to the Masked Man

Owl Pellet #73

It's the middle of the night. Danielle had to get up and use the bathroom. Once done, Danielle had gone kitty. Stalking down the hallway, Danielle peers into her bedroom, spotting Luz and King. Getting into pouncing position, Danielle purrs before pouncing on Luz.

"Aah! Oh gosh," said Luz, staring at a purring Danielle. "Kittielle is out."

"Even more annoying when young," said King, seeing Luz pet Danielle.

Owl Pellet #74

"Ow. Ow. Ow," said Luz, as Danielle kicked her in her sleep. "Come here you little kicker."

Picking Danielle up, Luz heads upstairs. Slowly opening the door to Eda's room, Luz tiptoes over and gently places Danielle in Eda's nest before leaving. Danielle rolls over on top of Eda before slightly stirring.

"Ew, what's that smell?" asked Danielle, rubbing her eyes and staring at Eda than the nest. "Yucky."

"Come here," said Eda, waking up slightly. "You're going back to your bed."

"Your bed 'tinks," said Danielle, as Eda carried her back to her room.

"There, bed," said Eda, as Danielle crawled into her bed.

"Huh," said Luz, as Danielle lays in top of her. "This is gonna be a long night."

Owl Pellet #75

"Lady Aria," said Danny, looking at Aria. "I don't think you ever explained why you left Morning Star Palace. Why did you?"

"One word: suitors," replied Aria, deeply sighing. "Something that Danielle won't have to worry about for a long time.

"Yikes," said Danny, paling a bit. "Glad I'm not at the forefront."

Owl Pellet #76

"Danielle," said Luz, seeing Danielle carry her bedding into the living room. "What are you doing?"

"What does it look like," replied Danielle, placing her pillows and comforter on the couch. "I'm still angry at you. Just be glad I left the futon. So Hooty, you have a roommate tonight."

"Oh," said Luz, holding her arm.

"Are you sure?" asked Hooty, staring at Danielle.

"Yes," replied Danielle, sitting down. "Good night."

"I have the best stories," said Hooty, looking at Danielle. "We can talk all night."

Owl Pellet #77

"Danielle?" said Luz, waking up and rubbing her eyes as Danielle stood in the doorway. "What's…"

"Don't ask," said Danielle, placing her pillows and comforter down.

"Hooty," said Luz, looking at Danielle.

"Yes," said Danielle, sighing before lying down. "He did it on purpose."

Owl Pellet #78

"Hey Eda," said Luz, seeing Eda walk into the room. "What's up?"

"I got something for you two," replied Eda, tossing a two small log to the girls.

"Palistrom wood," said Danielle, holding the small log.

"Now you can make your own palismans!" said King, staring at the girls.

"How'd you get this?" asked Danielle, looking at Eda.

"Let's just say that the Bonesborough Garden Club…" said Eda, looking at the girls.

"Was robbed! By us!" said King, looking at the girls.

"I don't know what to say..." said Luz, looking at Eda.

"Me either," said Danielle, looking at Eda.

"No pressure, but whenever you two know what you want, we'll start carving," said Eda, placing a hand on the girls shoulders.

"If it's okay, I'd like some time to think," said Luz, looking at Eda. "It's hard to picture my future without seeing my mom."

"It's hard to envision my future without my mom and dad here," said Danielle, staring at the palistrom wood. "Or even Aster."

"Eh, there's no rush," said Eda, looking at Danielle and Luz. "Just know that whatever you two need from us, we gotcha."

"Thanks," said Danielle and Luz, leaning into Eda.
