Bonus: Josh - "What did I say about speaking to me without addressing me as 'Wild Thing'." - 'The West Wing'
As he spun the fighter to dodge the shots fired his way, he felt a thrill at the near miss and the fast movements of the fighter. They were so much more maneuverable than shuttle craft. What he wouldn't give to fly one of these things for real.
Executing a flashy move that put him behind the enemy craft firing at him, he locked in on the other craft and fired. He gave out a whoop of excitement as the enemy ship became a huge fireball.
"Hate to spoil the fun, Tom, but we've got more enemy fighters coming in from the right."
Paris sighed in frustration. Leave it to Harry to spoil the illusion of the program. "What did I tell you about speaking to me without addressing me as 'Wild Thing'?"
He could deal with his wingman getting the terminology wrong for the direction, but really, couldn't he do something as simple as remembering to use the correct callsign. After all, that was part of the fun, to have a name that was a reflection of your personality and allowed you to be someone else while in the cockpit.
"Sorry," Harry muttered. Speaking up he repeated his previous statement. "Hate to spoil the fun, Wild Thing but we've got more enemy fighters coming in from the right."
"Acknowledge Tail Spin. Fall in on my six and we'll move to intercept," Paris replied, trying to get lost in the program once again.
